This document provides an overview of measurement system analysis and gage repeatability and reproducibility (Gage R&R) studies. It defines key terms like accuracy, precision, repeatability and reproducibility. It also describes different sources of variation in measurement systems and methods for analyzing them, including gage run charts and Gage R&R studies using crossed, nested and other designs. Examples are provided to illustrate how to set up and analyze Gage R&R studies and determine how much variation is from the measurement system versus the product being measured.
