The document provides instructions for sketching and coloring a figure using MS Paint in 16 colors or less. 2. Light gray. As long as you scratch use only this colour. Choose the tool “pencil”. Be free. Dont fear excess of scratching lines. I want to draw an standup male figure (see left). So, I’ve made a frame divided to put head, trunk, arms, legs, shoulders according breadth and length on my own style. Create a frame of yours.

3. Name File and Save it . Each step. Never forget saving. In each of your 12 rectangles you will use tool “pencil” and scratch head, trunk, arms, waist, hip, legs, shoes, hands.... Not good? Tool “rubber” can help you. Create a new frame. Try again. Another solution: Go to menu “edit”, option “select all” and delect. Then you will start again. New frame... New figure...

4. Black lines. Over the gray lines you will put the final traces. The line’s thickness you get with tool “line” option 1 to 5 (visual window underneath). Remember: as long as you keep pressed the mouse, the line is constructed, but it can be delected if you don’t want it. See what you draw. No good? Delect and start again.

5. Saving Modes You need only 16 colours. This option of saving embodies the light gray you are using to sketching. And you save memory space. There’s no need of saving files on 256 colours or 24bits. The trick of erasing sketching lines is reducing 16 colours to black and white option. When you do this, the light gray lines desapear! Then you can return to colours.

6. B&W-Not Gray Contour completed. You have a 16 colours file plenty of scratching lines. How to send off grays? Menu “File”, option “save as”, name file and option “black and white”. Just black and white. No grays. No scraping lines. You are clean. And go ahead.

7. Colouring Now is the time of your own artistic options. Save newly another file on 16 or 256 colours. The coloured palette will retourn again. Don’t forget for renegate bits that are closed and not accept be coloured. You must use your ultimate forces to complete your task: 8x zoom. Why? Bits sized 1x zoom are difficult to paint.

8. Finishing. How to background your male figure: Edit. “Select all” and “delect”. No more standup male figure. Blanck space. Choose planes and colours to create your BG. In this case, dark backgrounds are better. Save as, e.g: man256c_bg.

9. MP Paint Ever. Remember I said you to save each step? Thus you will pick up that yellow coat man. “Copy” that file. Open a new file and “paste” the man from the transfer area over the background file. There he is!

10. Signature. You have in MS Paint a tool “A” for texts. Is your work an original one? Signing is important? Choose font, size, and more options. Put your name. Credits ever. This is the first law.

11. Framing . Just one slender black frame around the all picture. Tool “rectangle”. Choose the thickness. Drag the cursor from the upper left corner to the lower right one.
