This document describes an automatic room lighting system using a microcontroller that aims to reduce energy waste. The system uses infrared sensors to detect when a person enters or leaves a room and controls a relay module to automatically turn lights on and off. It consists of an 8051 microcontroller, IR sensors, an LCD display, a relay module, and a lamp connected by wires to a power supply. When implemented in schools, offices, or other facilities, this system could help limit power waste by turning lights off when rooms are unoccupied.
