magazines, the majority of their magazines
involve music but its very popular magazine
empire focuses on films and the actors in
the films etc. empire was first started in the
uk in 1989, but it now gets published in the
united states, Russia, turkey and Portugal.
They have a review section focused on
dvd’s and blue rays giving all the latest info
on newest releases etc. as empire has such
a big audience this gives them the chance
to host their own Empire awards, and it is
sponsored by Sony Ericson and empires
viewers are given the chance to vote for
their favourite actors and actresses etc. The
magazine also have a section were they

published monthly and a summer issue is
added every year since issue 91, 2004 which is

launched in 1997 and offers cinema, DVD

responsibilities
All magazines have a publisher - both in the
(organisation) that owns it and the person that
manages it. With an independently published
magazine this can be the same thing. In a large
publishing organisation there will often be ‘group
publishers’ who manage a number of different
titles, typically organised in genres such as
lifestyle, motoring etc. (Above this level will be a
publishing director or a board of directors - this is
at the upper levels of the business, and it normally
follows standard business management structure

Any large-scale economic considerations
