2. I like this masthead because the font which is used stands out and I like
the way instead of the letter ‘L’ they have used a image of a product (knife)
which is in a shape of a L. It could've been better if they had used different
colours to make it stand out more.
I like this masthead too because of the contrast of the two colours (red and
black) go really well, and I like the way ‘NME’ is in big red font with a white
border around it and on top of that there is a black border, this makes it
stand out more and makes it look simple and not boring. Underneath the
masthead they have the meaning of each letter ‘NEW MUSICAL EXPRESS’
which gives an idea to the audience of what the magazine might be about if
they are not familiar with it.
I like this masthead as the colours are contrasted well. Also, I like the way
in the letter ‘R’ there is a image of a guitar which makes it look cool and
stands out. Also, a electronic guitar is rocky which goes with the genre of
the magazine. I like the way there is flame in the middle of the ‘O’ as it
makes the masthead stand out more.

3. I don’t like this masthead because its really simple. The use of font
is not so good as it’s a formal type of font and it has no images in
the letter to show what the magazine is about. Also, the
background colour seems a bit dull, if it was a colour which
contrasts really well with white it would’ve stood out more.
Similarly to the masthead above, I think its very simple. The font is too
simple and its not even bold which makes it not stand out. Also, the
colours used are too tedious, if the colours were brighter it would
attract the target audience more. Also, if the font was different and it
was bold it would stand out more.
I like the font used but the colours which are used are
boring, as it wouldn’t attract the target audience. If bright
colours were used it would immediately attract the audience
and it would make the masthead stand out more.
