Automatic power factor_improvement_and_monitoring_by_using_plc[1]ferozpatowary
This document describes a project to implement automatic power factor improvement and monitoring using a programmable logic controller (PLC) and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system. A group of six students will connect capacitor banks in parallel with various loads to correct low power factors. A PLC will control the capacitor banks based on power factor measurements from a power meter. The students will design input and output modules for the PLC, develop ladder logic programming, and create a SCADA model for monitoring. The goal is to develop a low-cost automated system using PLC and SCADA to replace manual power factor correction methods. This will improve efficiency in industrial plants by maintaining a high power factor near unity.
IRJET- Structural Engineering Aspects of Metro Rail ProjectsIRJET Journal
This document discusses structural engineering aspects of metro rail projects. It provides an overview of various metro rail projects in India and the typical configurations adopted, including elevated viaducts. It then describes the analysis and design of a typical 24m span of an elevated metro viaduct with pre-tensioned I-girders and a cast-in-situ deck slab. The analysis considers loads from dead load, superimposed dead load, and train live load. The design verifies stresses in the girder meet code limits. The document concludes that precast superstructure elements in elevated viaducts provide construction benefits while maintaining structural safety and quality.
The document summarizes a student project to design a vehicle-to-grid (V2G) system integrating Brookhaven National Laboratory's (BNL) solar grid with electric vehicle charging stations. The project was supported by various programs including CSTEP and LSAMP. The students researched V2G systems and designed modifications to make BNL's electric vehicles compatible. Their proposed system would use the electric vehicles to store excess solar energy and provide it back to the grid when solar supply is low. Future work will include installing and testing the system.
IRJET- Study and Analysis of Balanced Cantilever Bridge at Kochi MetroIRJET Journal
This document discusses the study and analysis of a balanced cantilever bridge that is part of the Kochi Metro project in India. The bridge uses a balanced cantilever construction method without the need for falsework. The study examines the bridge's behavior under dead and live loads during the construction and working stages using STAAD analysis software. The analysis found that the bridge's deflections and bending moments were within acceptable limits specified by Indian codes.
Multiconverter Unified Power Quality Conditioning System Using Artificial Neu...Asoka Technologies
This paper presents a new unified power-quality conditioning system (MC-UPQC), capable of simultaneous compensation for voltage and current in multibus/multifeeder systems. In this configuration, one shunt voltage-source converter (shunt VSC) and two or more series VSCs exist. The system can be applied to adjacent feeders to compensate for supply-voltage and load current imperfections on the main feeder and full compensation of supply voltage imperfections on the other feeders. In the proposed configuration, all converters are connected back to back on the dc side and share a common dc-link capacitor. Therefore, power can be transferred from one feeder to adjacent feeders to compensate for sag/swell and interruption. The performance of the MC-UPQC as well as the adopted control algorithm is illustrated by simulation. The present work study the compensation principle and different control strategies used here are based on PI & ANN Controller of the MC-UPQC in detail. The results obtained in MATLAB/PSCAD on a two-bus/two-feeder system show the effectiveness of the proposed configuration.

ELECTRICITY GENERATION USING RAILWAY TRACKIRJET Journal
This document describes a method for generating electricity using railway tracks. When trains pass over tracks, the weight causes the tracks to deflect downward. This downward motion is captured through a spring-loaded mechanism connected to a rack and pinion gear assembly. The pinion gear turns a flywheel connected to a generator, producing electricity that is stored in a battery. The system aims to harness wasted kinetic energy from train movement to power trackside infrastructure through this simple mechanism. It provides a renewable source of off-grid electricity without requiring fuel. Testing showed the design efficiently generates over 8-10 watts of power with each passing train, providing a viable solution for applications like street lighting near railway tracks.

A high-Speed Communication System is based on the Design of a Bi-NoC Router, ...DharmaBanothu
The Network on Chip (NoC) has emerged as an effective
solution for intercommunication infrastructure within System on
Chip (SoC) designs, overcoming the limitations of traditional
methods that face significant bottlenecks. However, the complexity
of NoC design presents numerous challenges related to
performance metrics such as scalability, latency, power
consumption, and signal integrity. This project addresses the
issues within the router's memory unit and proposes an enhanced
memory structure. To achieve efficient data transfer, FIFO buffers
are implemented in distributed RAM and virtual channels for
FPGA-based NoC. The project introduces advanced FIFO-based
memory units within the NoC router, assessing their performance
in a Bi-directional NoC (Bi-NoC) configuration. The primary
objective is to reduce the router's workload while enhancing the
FIFO internal structure. To further improve data transfer speed,
a Bi-NoC with a self-configurable intercommunication channel is
suggested. Simulation and synthesis results demonstrate
guaranteed throughput, predictable latency, and equitable
network access, showing significant improvement over previous
designs
Prediction of Electrical Energy Efficiency Using Information on Consumer's Ac...PriyankaKilaniya
Energy efficiency has been important since the latter part of the last century. The main object of this survey is to determine the energy efficiency knowledge among consumers. Two separate districts in Bangladesh are selected to conduct the survey on households and showrooms about the energy and seller also. The survey uses the data to find some regression equations from which it is easy to predict energy efficiency knowledge. The data is analyzed and calculated based on five important criteria. The initial target was to find some factors that help predict a person's energy efficiency knowledge. From the survey, it is found that the energy efficiency awareness among the people of our country is very low. Relationships between household energy use behaviors are estimated using a unique dataset of about 40 households and 20 showrooms in Bangladesh's Chapainawabganj and Bagerhat districts. Knowledge of energy consumption and energy efficiency technology options is found to be associated with household use of energy conservation practices. Household characteristics also influence household energy use behavior. Younger household cohorts are more likely to adopt energy-efficient technologies and energy conservation practices and place primary importance on energy saving for environmental reasons. Education also influences attitudes toward energy conservation in Bangladesh. Low-education households indicate they primarily save electricity for the environment while high-education households indicate they are motivated by environmental concerns.

Accident detection system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
The Rapid growth of technology and infrastructure has made our lives easier. The
advent of technology has also increased the traffic hazards and the road accidents take place
frequently which causes huge loss of life and property because of the poor emergency facilities.
Many lives could have been saved if emergency service could get accident information and
reach in time. Our project will provide an optimum solution to this draw back. A piezo electric
sensor can be used as a crash or rollover detector of the vehicle during and after a crash. With
signals from a piezo electric sensor, a severe accident can be recognized. According to this
project when a vehicle meets with an accident immediately piezo electric sensor will detect the
signal or if a car rolls over. Then with the help of GSM module and GPS module, the location
will be sent to the emergency contact. Then after conforming the location necessary action will
be taken. If the person meets with a small accident or if there is no serious threat to anyone’s
life, then the alert message can be terminated by the driver by a switch provided in order to
avoid wasting the valuable time of the medical rescue team.
