Students can earn an additional 20% by contributing helpfully to the online discussion forum.
Year 9 Protest Poetry Project
This document outlines a creative thinkers project for a poetry group called The Guerrilla Artists. As members, students will use their voices through poetry to bring about positive change and give voice to the oppressed. They will produce 3 products over the course of the project: 1) An original protest poem exploring if voices can create change, compiled in an eBook audio book. 2) A performance poem on a specific issue written with a group. 3) A selected protest poem analyzed in writing along with a persuasive speech on the issue presented for competition. Students can earn extra points for positive contributions on the online platform.

advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.

- 7. An ‘A’ range introduction: ‘Power and obedience are two ideas which George Orwell rallies against. It is not only his opposition to these ideas which allow his essays to endure but also his ability to portray them in a skillful manner. Enduring ideas of power and obedience combine with brilliant aesthetic and recognition of a need for accessibility in Orwell’s essays ‘Politics and the English Language’ and ‘Sporting Spirit’.

- 12. the emphasis should be on the argument and the engagement with the ideas in the essay question - a conceptual discussion is best (not thematic, plot or character driven)

- 14. AVOID!! 'No, Hamlet is not about Struggle and Disillusionment. Here is my prepared response instead blah, blah, blah'. This is the WORST possible approach to the HSC exam - they're putting ideas out there for you to think about and write about. You MUST develop an argument that responds DIRECTLY to the essay question. If you don't, you'll get a big fat 'D'.
