Mobile commerce is defined as buying and selling goods and services through wireless devices such as cell phones and PDAs. The first mobile commerce services were introduced in 1997 with Coke vending machines in Finland. Since the iPhone launch, mobile commerce has moved from SMS systems to mobile applications. The future of mobile commerce is promising, with over 500 million global users expected to use mobile money transfer services by 2014, especially in developing regions like Africa, the Middle East, China, and India. Mobile commerce applications include mobile ticketing, banking, auctions, browsing, and purchases.
