INTRODUCTION
 Wireless power transfer (WPT) or electromagnetic power transfer is the
transmission of electrical energy without wires.
 Nicole Tesla was the first one to introduce the wireless power transfer In
1891, he began his work on wireless power transmission a this laboratory
in Colorado, USA.
 Tesla’s successful experiment was the first demonstration of wireless
power transfer concept The Wardenclyffe tower.
BASIC PRINCIPAL OF WPT
 By converting the AC Power to DC Power Using Rectifiers And Filters and then
again converting it back to AC at high frequency using inverters.
 This low voltage high frequency Ac Power then passes from the transformer
primary to its secondary and is converted to DC Power Using rectifier, filter and
regulator arrangement.
MOTIVATION FOR WPT
 Increase the device mobility
 Avoid the wiring Hazards , Cost & isolation
 Improve electric vehicles reliability
 Enhance the research of biomedical Maintenance free and no
electrical plugs

Wireless power techniques mainly fall into four categories
BLOCK DIAGRAM OF INDUCTIVE COUPLING
 In inductive coupling (electromagnetic induction) or inductive power transfer,
IPT), power is transferred between coils of wire by a magnetic field
 It is used in near field power transmission such as electric toothbrushes .

 The power is beamed at a receiver that can convert it to electrical
energy known as 'power beaming‘
 The visible region of the spectrum (tens of micrometers to tens
of nanometers).

beam back into electricity.

COMPARISON OF DIFFERENT WPT METHODS
REZENCE STANDARD
 Rezence is a newly-developed wireless power transfer
standard introduced by Alliance for Wireless Power.
 on magnetic resonance technology to transfer power
between a power transmitter and a power receiver.
 This standard is developed to provide more features than
the Qi Standard.
BLOCK DIAGRAM OF WPT SYSTEM

 Efficient Energy Transfer
 Unaffected By Day-night Cycle, Weather Or Season
ADVANTAGE
 Initial Cost Is High.
 High- Frequency Signal Must Be The Supply.

FUTURE APPLICATION
Charging portable devices (Qi), biomedical implants, electric vehicles,
powering buses, trains, smartcards.
Solar power satellite, powering drone aircraft, charging wireless devices.
Powering drone aircraft, powering space elevator climbers
Wireless parking charger.
 Based on this study, we can say that the magnetic resonance WPT is the
most promising technique for powering devices wirelessly with high
efficiency over up to few meters. Being safe A for humans and environment,
magnetic resonance WPT can spread to be the standard charging method for
most portable devices in the next few years

INTRODUCTION  Wireless power transfer (WPT) or electromagnetic power transfer is the transmission of electrical energy without wires.  Nicole Tesla was the first one to introduce the wireless power transfer In 1891, he began his work on wireless power transmission a this laboratory in Colorado, USA.  Tesla’s successful experiment was the first demonstration of wireless power transfer concept The Wardenclyffe tower.
  • 5. BASIC PRINCIPAL OF WPT  By converting the AC Power to DC Power Using Rectifiers And Filters and then again converting it back to AC at high frequency using inverters.  This low voltage high frequency Ac Power then passes from the transformer primary to its secondary and is converted to DC Power Using rectifier, filter and regulator arrangement.

POWER TRANSFER BY LASER  The power is beamed at a receiver that can convert it to electrical energy known as 'power beaming‘  The visible region of the spectrum (tens of micrometers to tens of nanometers).  High efficiency photo voltaic cells are used to convert the received laser beam back into electricity.

REZENCE STANDARD  Rezence is a newly-developed wireless power transfer standard introduced by Alliance for Wireless Power.  on magnetic resonance technology to transfer power between a power transmitter and a power receiver.  This standard is developed to provide more features than the Qi Standard.

  • 20.  Based on this study, we can say that the magnetic resonance WPT is the most promising technique for powering devices wirelessly with high efficiency over up to few meters. Being safe A for humans and environment, magnetic resonance WPT can spread to be the standard charging method for most portable devices in the next few years CONCLUSION
