This document reviews the Rotating Biological Contactor (RBC) system, highlighting its advantages over traditional wastewater treatment methods such as activated sludge processes. The RBC utilizes biofilm technology to efficiently remove organic substances and nitrogen compounds, featuring low energy requirements and compact design, making it suitable for decentralized wastewater treatment. Additionally, it discusses the design, operation, and potential challenges faced in RBC systems, demonstrating their effectiveness and adaptability in various wastewater treatment applications.
