Mission Statement
My pop magazine is called ‘Sweety’ and is aimed at 9-14 year olds. The style of this
magazine could be described as colourful, exciting and inspiring for the young female
readers, and is there to provide excitement and interest to their lives. This is portrayed
through the feminine colour scheme, interesting articles about up to date topics, and young
attractive models used inside.
The values of the magazine are to inform and inspire the target audience so they get to find
out more about their favourite pop artists, but also so they can use the information in their
everyday life, for example interpreting celebrity’s style into their own, telling their friends
about the latest celebrity gossip or even just by telling a funny joke written in the magazine.
By doing this it will provide friendship groups fun conversations and a way of connecting
through their similar interests.
This magazine will be distributed once a month so that enough new and current information
is given out but also means that there is no shortage in what it contains. It will cost £2.50
due to the fact that the target audience will not have a source of income since they are
students, and will be sold in WhSmiths located in shopping centres as this is somewhere our
target audience is likely to be as they enjoy shopping. It also sells school supplies which is
why they would go there. In addition to WhSmiths the magazine would also be sold in local
news agents, service stations and airport shops so wherever the reader goes they will
always have an opportunity to read the magazine, no matter how close or far it is from
home.
The magazine promises to provide a good amount of information on current pop stars, and
this will be achieved by having interviews with stars who are in the top charts. Topics which
will feature are celebrity gossip, interviews with pop artists, advice on talking to boys and
style columns. These topics are all important to young girls which will make the magazine
more relatable to them. In addition to this the magazine will have an accompanying website
with similar topics to the magazine, more current celebrity news and also online games. This
can not only be accessed on the internet but also mobile phone apps so it is reaching them
through various forms of media-not only on paper.
The artists which will be appearing in the magazine are current, well known pop stars which
will appeal to the target market through their popularity, star image and music. There will
be gorgeous girls and handsome hunks inside so not only can the reader aspire to be like the
girls but can be entertained by looking at their celebrity crushes!
This magazine will benefit the target audience as it will enhance and satisfy their love for
pop music.

  • 1. Mission Statement My pop magazine is called ‘Sweety’ and is aimed at 9-14 year olds. The style of this magazine could be described as colourful, exciting and inspiring for the young female readers, and is there to provide excitement and interest to their lives. This is portrayed through the feminine colour scheme, interesting articles about up to date topics, and young attractive models used inside. The values of the magazine are to inform and inspire the target audience so they get to find out more about their favourite pop artists, but also so they can use the information in their everyday life, for example interpreting celebrity’s style into their own, telling their friends about the latest celebrity gossip or even just by telling a funny joke written in the magazine. By doing this it will provide friendship groups fun conversations and a way of connecting through their similar interests. This magazine will be distributed once a month so that enough new and current information is given out but also means that there is no shortage in what it contains. It will cost £2.50 due to the fact that the target audience will not have a source of income since they are students, and will be sold in WhSmiths located in shopping centres as this is somewhere our target audience is likely to be as they enjoy shopping. It also sells school supplies which is why they would go there. In addition to WhSmiths the magazine would also be sold in local news agents, service stations and airport shops so wherever the reader goes they will always have an opportunity to read the magazine, no matter how close or far it is from home. The magazine promises to provide a good amount of information on current pop stars, and this will be achieved by having interviews with stars who are in the top charts. Topics which will feature are celebrity gossip, interviews with pop artists, advice on talking to boys and style columns. These topics are all important to young girls which will make the magazine more relatable to them. In addition to this the magazine will have an accompanying website with similar topics to the magazine, more current celebrity news and also online games. This can not only be accessed on the internet but also mobile phone apps so it is reaching them through various forms of media-not only on paper. The artists which will be appearing in the magazine are current, well known pop stars which will appeal to the target market through their popularity, star image and music. There will be gorgeous girls and handsome hunks inside so not only can the reader aspire to be like the girls but can be entertained by looking at their celebrity crushes! This magazine will benefit the target audience as it will enhance and satisfy their love for pop music.
