1. Who would be the audience for your
media product and how did you
attract/address your audience?
2. The target audience for my magazine is a unisex audience
between the ages of 16-28. This particular audience would be
interested in social media and enjoy are variety of artists within
the POP music industry.
I have targeted this audience by including articles that would
be relevant to their age group such as concerts and
opportunities to win tickets as well as main article about
upcoming talent. The colour scheme used in my magazine is
very basic and I have included jewel tone colours such as navy,
which are rich colours. I have deliberately not used bright, over
powering colours such as fuchsia or lime green as I believe
these colours suit and target a much younger audience such as
teenager.
3. I have also priced my magazine at £3.99, I believe this a fair
price for a music magazine if you take into consideration that
Billboard cost almost double. I came to this decision by
working on the assumption of how much disposable income
those between the ages of 16-28 would have considering a
large majority would be students.
4. Not my target audience…
These people pictured are fairly young
teenagers clearly interested in all things
pink and girly – something my magazine is
not. They would be more interested in the
typical teenage gossip magazines.
These people pictured are older than the
girls above however, are not my target
audience. They are above the age I am
targeting at. My magazines main aim is
Music with hints of fashion – typically not
the style of magazine older people choose
to read. Magazines such as Home and
Garden would stereotypically be more to
their taste.
