2. SILVER SCREEN
• Our first idea for the name of our magazine is ‘Silver Screen’.
This is because the silver screen is the name of what films used
to be projected on when cinemas first came about.
• By using this name it will clearly indicate to the audience the
content in the magazine, and also the use of alliteration in the
masthead will be catchy and memorable. Having a catchy
magazine name will help build up the magazine’s reputation
and therefore attract a wider range of readers.
• The next slide will show what a silver screen looked liked.

4. THE PICTURES
• Our second option for our magazine name is ‘The Pictures’.
This idea came from how before films people used to watch a
series of pictures put together to look like they’re moving,
getting the name ‘motion pictures’. Audiences at the time used
to call watching these ‘going to the pictures’.
• From using this as our film name it will indicate to the audience
the content of the magazine being films and also that we have
a wide knowledge of films.
• The following slide shows one of the first cinemas in
Hollywood.

6. FILM MAGAZINE NAME
• When we asked members of our target audience which name
they preferred, the majority of those interviewed stated that
‘Silver Screen’ sounded the best. This may be because the use
of alliteration in the title makes it sound nicer, though a lot of
people liked the meaning behind it as it makes it sound quite
vintage and also unique from other film magazine titles.
