The document discusses setting, lighting, costume, makeup, hair, and props for a music video. It describes using the characters' houses and streets as settings to represent their home and public lives. Natural and artificial lighting will be used to convey the time of day and illuminate the story. Casual costumes and minimal, natural makeup and hair will represent the characters' everyday personalities and feelings. General household props may be included if linked to the song lyrics.
2. • Setting creates the sense of place and the mood and will
sometimes emphasise the characters emotions.
• My settings will be:
• House: Throughout the music video, there will be certain points
when the characters will be in their houses for reasons which will
be shown in the music video itself. The house will represent their
home life and what goes on behind closed doors.
• Street: This will be used in my music video of the characters
walking down the street in different parts of the song for different
reasons.
3. • Lighting is there to enhance the mood and atmosphere.
In my music video the lighting will convey the times of
day, and illuminate the story.
• Natural light: I will be using natural light when my
characters are outside. The natural light will be coming
from the sky. Natural light will also be used in the daytime
when the characters are inside and the light reflects
through the windows.
• Artificial light: I will be using artificial light when my
characters are inside their house and it is slightly dark
outside or if they are outside in the dark because street
lights will be on.
4. • Costume shows the personality or status of the
characters. The costume can also indicate the difference
between the characters.
• Casual costumes are going to be what I use for my
characters. I will be using casual costumes because my
music video represents what is going on in their everyday
lives. The characters wouldn’t be wearing different
clothes in their everyday life therefore that is the reason I
will be using this type.
5. • Makeup: The makeup of my characters will be minimal
and natural. This is because, as said on the previous
slide, the music video will represent the everyday lives of
the characters and their stories so there doesn’t need to
be major chances to makeup choices.
• Hair: Hair for both boys and girls will be natural instead of
something major. This will represent their personality and
feelings.
6. • General props will be used such as household items. As
my music video is going to be narrative, there will be no
need for instruments to be used. There isn’t any major
props that will be used unless they link with the lyrics.
• For example, ‘I overdosed’ is one of the lyrics so some
pills may be shown on screen.
