Minimally invasive procedure is used in neurosurgery to diagnose and treat neurological conditions such as hydrocephalus, brain tumor and movement disorders such as Parkinson’s disease. In traditional brain surgery, surgeons used to remove part of the skull to get access to the brain. On the contrary, minimally invasive surgery usually involves making of 1 to 2 cm tiny holes. Through these cuts or incisions, instruments with laparoscope or a miniature camera is inserted to get access to the affected areas of the brain.
