The Cold War Between America And The Soviet Union Between...
In studying International Relations, I have realized that, the nature of International politics can be
likened to anarchy. This is because in International relations there seems to be no supreme or
overriding authority which establishes and maintains rules or laws in international affairs. All
States appear to behave in their own interests.
A typical case of study is the Cold War. From my understanding, the Cold War describes the
relationship between America and the Soviet Union between 1945 and 1980. During this period,
neither sides ever fought each other directly, but indirectly they influenced other countries through
their ideologies (i.e. America s democracy and Russia s communism) to war. For example, America
supplied weapons to South Vietnam (anti communist) to war with North Vietnam (pro communist),
who were also supported and supplied weapons by China/Russia. Also with Afghanistan,
Americans helped them after the Soviet Union invaded in 1979 by supplying them with weapons
to war, without physically involving themselves. This portrays that, in the absence of a supreme
power to regulate law in International relations, the system will not be able to provide any public
good, in this case, PEACE among states. However, to some extent they do. To achieve this peace,
both realists and liberals have outlined various factors that facilitate this provision among States.
For liberals, peace among states can be achieved through economic cooperation, democratic peace

Early Human Development Research Paper
It has been almost 3.5 million years since humans started roaming the Earth. Homo erectus first
evolved with an upright posture enabling people to use their hands. Homo erectus evolved into
Homo sapiens about one hundred thousand years ago living in small groups. For nearly two
million years, their way of life was based around hunting and gathering food until ten to twelve
thousand years ago when agriculturedeveloped. Early humans depended on their knowledge of
crops and seasons in order to survive. The environment and climate in general has had a major
impact on the development of early humans.
The Stone Age was split up into three stages; Paleolithic, Mesolithic, and Neolithic. The Paleolithic
era lasted about 500,000 to 10,000 years ago. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These were some of the best years yet, new inventions and ideas came along hoping to make a
difference. The growth of agriculture was the biggest change in the way of handling food. Due to
this, people never had steady, stable homes, instead made the Neolithic people wanderers. The
situation these people were put in only helped improve their creativity, which eventually lead to the
irrigation system invention. Towns were increasing in size more and more each day and the small
farming communities turned into towns, this lead to people breaking up and herding animals.
Next up is the creation of government and religion. The farming communities that turned into
towns are now powerful enough to rule others and have government. People wanted their crops to
grow so they used religion as a way of practicing their prayers. The Age of Metals was significant
in this era because people learned how to made their weapons better and more efficient.
Climate changes definitely played a role in the civilization of early humans. The period and
phrases that people had to go through to get here was just amazing because groups were united as
one, selfless, creative, etc. Since the early humans had to use their knowledge about crops to see if
they would survive in extreme climates, this was very helpful. The effect that climate and
environment have can be seen how it has impacted the lives of

Examples Of Intolerance In To Kill A Mockingbird
Why do the people of Maycomb have intolerance of each other? Because they do not accept
people that aren t like them. If they see someone in their town who isn t a stereotypical person,
they do not tolerate them. In the novel, To Kill a Mockingbird, by Harper Lee, the characters
judge each other for not doing everything like they would like them to. Throughout the novel, the
people of Maycomb showed that they grew up around not tolerating each other, which shows
how it is not right to be prejudice against people that they do not even really know. The people of
Maycomb have passed their intolerance of each other on from generation to generation. They
judge each other on how they dress. You should be in a dress and camisole, young lady! (101; ch.
11). The author used the word should to show how the people of Maycomb judge the people who...

only heard mostly false stories about him, they expect him to be evil and scary. But they have
never even seen him before, so they do not know what he is actually like. The Negroes and the

Who Is Crazy In A Midsummer Night s Dream
In William Shakespeare s play, A Midsummer Night s Dream there is Makeups,Breakups and Love.
The characters go through a roller coaster of emotions throughout the play. Many emotions of the
characters are made confusing by the king of fairies Oberon and his servant Puck/Robin. The
drama throughout the play creates many problems for the characters. One of those characters is
Helena, she shows that loveis crazy when she talks to Hermia, gives Demetrius permission to beat
her and when she talks to Demetrius in the woods. In the beginning of the play Helena is
introduced with being in love with Demetrius. The audience knows from the text that Demetrius is
in love with Hermia. While talking with Hermia, Helena says, The more I love, the more he hateth
me (Shakespeare 199). Helena is talking about Demetrius in this instance. She is saying that the
more she loves him the more he hates her. This is the first introduction of the theme that love is
crazy. Love is making... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is where Oberon sends Puck to put the love potion on Demetrius s eyes. Oberon gives Puck a
very vague description of who he is supposed to put the love potion on. Puck ends up putting the
love potion on Demetrius s and Lysander s eyes. The love potion works where whoever the
person sees first they will fall in love with. Lysander and Demetrius both happen to see Helena
first when they wake up, so they both fall in love with her. Helena thinks they are playing a joke
on her and doesn t believe what they are saying. Hermia comes into the mix and Helena thinks
she is joking with her too. While talking to Hermia, Helena says, Wherefore speaks he this, To
her he hates? (Shakespeare 230 231). In this line Helena is saying, Why would he speak to me
like this if he hates me? She is referring to when Demetrius was calling her beautiful and a
goddess. This shows how love is crazy, because it started with Demetrius hating her to now being in

The Pros And Cons Of Justifying The Aeneid War
When the Greeks achieved victory over Troy, Aeneas fled with the other Trojan survivors. The
Trojans spent countless years searching for a new home, and finally found Italia. Due to a much
earlier grudge, Juno stirs up trouble and plunges the Trojans and Latins into war. The fact that the
Trojans are initially peaceful, that King Latinus wishes to ally with the Trojans, and that the rulers
who fight the Trojans are tyrants, justifies the AeneidWar.
First, the Trojans have not intentionally provoked the rulers of the cities of Italia. When the Trojans
arrive, they declare peace and bring gifts to the Latins. When the Latins attack the Trojans, the
Trojans seek peace with the people of King Evander and the Estruscans. The Trojans originally

I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud by Wordsworth Essay
I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud by Wordsworth
Wordsworth takes readers on a reminiscent journey in I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud reflecting
upon visions of nature. The figurative language and diction used elucidate the poet s response to
nature. Wordsworth uses each stanza to share his experience in nature through the image of a dance
that culminates in the poet s emotional response.
Wordsworth opens with reference to himself through simile as a part of the natural landscape, I
wandered lonely as a cloud / That floats on high (Wordsworth, Line 1). The diction used in the
opening simile puts the reader in the poet s state of mind. A cloud is a lightweight, free flowing
image. Cloud paired with the action floats , lets the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Wordsworth continues to relay his experience in nature as he expounds upon the affiliation between
the daffodils and another natural element. Applying simile, the poet connects the flowers to the
stars, Continuous as the stars that shine / And twinkle on the milky way (7 8). A mental picture of
infinite flowers is created, while shine and twinkle produce an image of light. Wordsworth uses the
light imagery to link the two aspects of nature; the luminous stars of the night and golden daffodils
of the day. The link shows the reader the connection the poet sees in different facets of nature. The
second stanza continues the description of the dance Ten thousand saw I at a glance, / Tossing
their heads in sprightly dance (12). The image created is of large numbers of flowers moving in
unison and expresses the harmony the poet finds in nature. The usage of sprightly makes another
reference to light, but in the sense of movement and weight as cloud and floats were utilized in the
first stanza. Diction in the second stanza provides the reader with a multi dimensional prospective
of Wordsworth s imagery by giving the images action, feeling and weight.
Personifying another facet of nature, Wordsworth partners the daffodils in their dance, The waves
beside them danced, but they / Outdid the sparkling waves in glee (13 14). The lines also work to

Simple Man
The Life of a Simple Man was written by Emile Guillaumin, a former peasant going through
many changes in the 19th century Europe. He wrote about a peasant boy living in France just
fifty years before him. The book itself is based on Guillaumin s own experience being a peasant
in France. At the time the book was written which was about 1900s, he felt that the French
peasants were not being recognized in the extent contemporary literature was being produced.
Around this time, the industrialization of Europe was accelerating; there were many changes that
were occurring, including the mixing of cities with factories and the agriculture industry in rural
areas. This change gave Guillaumin the ability to write about a milestone about the differences in
people and their lively hoods. A milestone which consisted in seeing the changes of people s lives
as new work arose and new opportunities for what was thought of a better life. Guillaumin writes
an excellent inside into understanding how the nineteenth century French peasants lived. Here,
this essay is mainly focused on a couple of aspects regarding the book by Emile Guillaumin: The

A Good Plan Violently Executed Now Is Better Than A...
A good plan violently executed now is better than a perfect plan executed next week. What is it

cannot? Throughout military history, untold number of plans have been developed and executed

cracking over your head that defines the battle at hand.

Security in the Office
What measures should office employees take to ensure office security?
Why is office security important?
Office security is important because security threats, in particular, theft and embezzlement, do take
place in small businesses.
What is embezzlement?
Embezzlement occurs when the company s property are misappropriated by the employee whom
the property is entrusted. In simple terms, this is the act of the employees stealing property from
their own company.
What warning signs of embezzlement should employees look out for?
An increase in overall sales returns could mean that the accounts receivable payments of the
company have been concealed.
If there are unusual bad debts within the company, this could mean employee fraud has taken
place in the company. In addition, if the cash or credit sales has declined or increased slightly from
previous period, this could mean that some of the company s sales are not recorded.
Bounced checks received by the companies could mean that funds are being taken out from the
business bank account without authority.
Shortages of inventory could mean that employee pilferage has taken place within the company.
A decline in profit and an increase in expenses incurred by the company can mean that cash is
withdrawn from the company s account illegitimately.
Slow collection of business accounts receivable can be used by employees to hide embezzlement.
Steps to preventing employee embezzlement:
In order to prevent dishonest acts from

Computer Topology Of A Network
INTRODUCTION: The physical or network topology of a network seriously affects the network
price, dependability, throughput, and approach pattern, etc, thus we want to contemplate these
multiple criteria having totally different units, at the same time. However, normal ways of
planning topology contemplate solely one criterion, e.g., minimizing the specified range of
physical links. during this paper, we tend to propose a topology style methodology exploitation
average rank , that is calculated by averaging the ranks of all criteria. This methodology needs very
little calculation and therefore the principle of topology analysis is basically straightforward.

depends totally on who is doing the work, with results that are rarely duplicable. this could have

Essay about Joan Of Arc
Joan of Arc
Joan of Arc, first known as Jeanne d Arc, was born in the village of Domremy, in the Champagne
district of northeastern France. She was born on January 6, 1412 and died May 30,1431 at the
age of 19. Joan is a French national heroin and a saint of the Roman Catholic Church. She rescued
France from defeat during the Hundred Years War against England. In honor of her victory she is
often called the Maid of Orleans. This is a story of her life.

In April of 1429 Joan and her army set out to rescue Orleans from English control. At first the
French commanders hesitated to obey her orders but eventually listened to her. Ten days after she

Symptoms Of Colorblindness
Colorblindness is a disorder that results in a decrease in function of the mechanisms that allow the
eye to see colors. These symptoms usually result from a mutation that interrupts the development of
the retinal cones. Cones are photoreceptor cells that response best to bright light and serve to
discriminate colors. There are three different types of cones each with different pigments blue,
green and red (Deeb). Blue cones are able to absorb lightwith a short wavelength around 420nm;
green cones are able to absorb light with a middle wavelength around 530nm, and red cones are
able to absorb light with a long wavelength around 560nm (Deeb). Working together these cones
are able to discriminate between the colors we see. The genes responsible

Health care is a very expensive issue here in the United Sates and the current system is not
sustainable at its current state. Republicans for the last 8 years have tried to replace the current
system (ACA) with a more cost effective one, but this has been a daunting task.
Tom Price was confirmed as the secretary of human and health services. The Trump
administration was able to finally elect one of the leading figures in the opposition of Obamacare.
The political landscape has changed a lot since this confirmation and the uncertainty of the repeal
has led to the possibility of more progressive ideas. One of those ideas that has emerged is

In a CNN debate with Ted Cruz, Sanders brought up questions regarding the current system and
wondered why we continue to rely on premiums and why we continue to enrich insurers that are
unreliable. Although, Sanders is a representative of liberal and progressive ideas this idea of
universal health is becoming more mainstream with democratic and Republican voters. In a recent
Pew poll, the survey showed that 60 percent of respondents believed that the government should
be responsible of the coverage of all Americans. Other polls showed that low income Republicans
have shown support for universal health care and this comes as an opportunity for politicians in
both parties. From a Republican standpoint, this would complete the promise of repealing and
replacing Obamacare and it would also solve the problem of the disastrous exchange system. This
idea may be too liberal for most Republican politicians as it goes against party lines, but strong
support from the democrats and their constituents could alter some of the positions of Republican
politicians.
Democrats have less of a political risk in embracing universal health care as it is in line with
liberal ideology. This is very important as democrats can run as challengers to the incumbent
Republicans and seek to unseat them under the premise of Medicare coverage for everyone. This
would also put pressure on Republicans to move further to the center of the political spectra as the
fear of losing votes materializes from the massive effects of a complete

stream from the outrageous cost of its self driving car prototype, which is $170,000. Shashua and

History And The Origin Of The Sport
Highlight the sport that you have chosen (1)
The sport that I am currently playing and am researching for my assignment is netball.
Research the history and the origin of the sport (5)
The game of netball originated back in 1891 in Springfield, Massachusetts, when a 30 year old
Canadian immigrant named Dr James Naismith, was asked to invent a female game of basketball
after inventing the male version of basketball and having success in the male version of the sport.
When the female version of basketball was first introduced, women used broomsticks for goal posts
and http://netball.com.au/wp content/uploads/2013/09/1_11181l.jpg brown paper paper bags for
nets, playing the game on grassed areas. The rules and game of netball evolved when the women
playing the female version of basketball found that their long skirts, pulled in waists and button up
shoes made running difficult and their long shirts restricted the movement in their arms making
dribbling and their limited amount of strength made long passes challenging. They later adapted the
sports of basketball to accommodate to these restrictions, resulting in the birth of the game of
netball.
Provide a detailed description of how the sport is played (4)
Netball is a game that is played on a court that is 30.5 meters wide and 15.25 meters in length,
with a centre circle (in the centre of the court) and two semi circles called the goal circles. There

Activity For Adolescents
It is important for adolescents to stay active at a young age for the sake of their physical health! I
believe putting your child in some kind of sport during their childhood can teach them
sportsmanship, manners, respect, team work and much more!
Getting out of school and going straight to a practice or a game will also keep your child
productive and out of the streets. I know that having your kid participate in a sport while they are
young will definitely keep them out of trouble, and this is from a personal reference because I was
a trouble kid. Sports and clubs were the only two things that could keep me out of trouble and away
from the wrong crew. Another positive outcome from this idea is teaching your child good
sportsmanship.

Reflection Of Education In High School
It s 1994 in Long Beach, California. Erin Gruwell is just starting her first teaching job, as
freshman and sophomore English teacher at Woodrow Wilson High School, which, two years
earlier, implemented a voluntary integration program. For many of the existing teachers, the
integration has ruined the school, whose previously stellar academic standing has been replaced
with many students who will be lucky to graduate or even be literate. Despite choosing the
school on purpose because of its integration program, Erin is unprepared for the nature of her
classroom, whose students live by generations of strict moral codes of protecting their own at all
cost. Many are in gangs and almost all know somebody that has been killed by gang violence. The
Latinos hate the Cambodians who hate the blacks and so on. The only person the students hate
more is Ms. Gruwell. It isn t until Erin holds an illegal discussion about a recent drive by shooting
death that she fully begins to understand what she s up against. And it isn t until she provides an
assignment of writing a daily journal which will be not graded, and will remain unread by her
unless they so choose that the students begin to open up to her.
I like this movie and the way it transitions from bad to good in the way that Erin Gruwell faces a
hard time up against these students with harsh realities who don t give a damn about anyone but
their own kind. However, as time passes Erin starts to realise these students backgrounds and

Examples Of Mistakes In American History
Nobody is perfect, so everyone all makes mistakes. Human created history and even historical
failures. Some people believe that we usually repeat what we did wrongly before. It sounds similar
to the British author George Bernard Shaw s idea: We learn from history that we learn nothing
from history. However, in my opinion, that idea is completely not correct, because we must learn
something from the mistakes we made in the past, so that we would not do them one more timeat the
present or in the future.
In my essay, I will use three examples from American history(from 1877 to the present) to disprove
George Bernard Shaw s statement. They are all the mistakes which the American made in the past
have not appeared until today.

Bush used to say a sentence which was very famous and seemed as his promise. That was Read
my lips: No new taxes . However, in June 1990 Bush abandoned his Read my lips. No new taxes

Republican conservatives were critical of this shift, and his popularity ratings fell immediately.
(8) On March 4, 1992, he said: I thought this one compromise, and it was a compromise, would
result in no more tax increases. I thought it would result in total control of domestic discretionary
spending. And now we see Congress talking about raising taxes again. And some in Congress are
talking about trying to break down the spending caps. And so I m disappointed and given all of
that, yes, a mistake. (9)
Let s talk about an example of kept promises. Barak Obama promised to Extend the Bush tax cuts
for lower incomes and he kept his word. He extended the Bush tax cuts for those making less than
$250000 (couples) or $200000(single). (10) He promised to Create an Advanced Manufacturing

As a president, it would be terrible if that president broke his promise to the public. Once he says
something, he had better follow and do exactly the same as what he said. If not, his words will

An Age Old Tradition For The House Of Commons
Introduction
Westminster has an age old tradition for the use of division lobbies. The method of voting in the
lobbies for Members of both Houses has remained relatively untouched since its inception, after
the great fire of 1834 . The introduction of deferred divisions in 2004 was considered to be a
reform too far for many members. A more recent development has been the introduction of tablets
to record the votes of members. This change was initially brought about in the Lords. The change
in the Commons was rushed through by the proposals for double majority votes required under the
EVEL legislation. Although the changes would have happened regardless of the need for the
double majority votes. The tablets were only used on EVEL votes ... Show more content on

MPs are the only person out of a constituency of 70,000 or so people who are able to vote. The
significance of voting cannot be understated and as such a system that facilitates this must be
robust. There are a variety of different voting procedures in place around the world, additionally,
there are also different systems used within the UK.
Although the current system has been around for hundreds of years, and when Members are
elected or appointed they know how the system works, it is not without its user errors. A recent
example of this was when Angus McNeil MP hid in the toilet during a vote as he had used the
toilet in the lobby, but hadn t moved out before the vote was called and the doors we locked.
This study will aim to assess the current benefits of the voting procedure. It will then go on to
outline a few of the current problems and propose changes to improve the system such as making
it easier for members to vote, or to make it easier to find out how their representative has voted
following a division.

more dominant internationally than in the middle of the 90s В– nor more controversial. Serious
money is involved as pop culture is America s second biggest export after aircraft (Rockwell
1994). There is a common perception that in the process of globalization American products
dominate everywhere on the world s markets. The fact that you can quench your thirst with Coca
Cola in about 185 countries is but one example of U.S. economic ambition (Stephens 1993, online).
Likewise, European anti globalization activists have long criticized Hollywood and its big budget
studios for monopolizing the world movie in dustry and, consequently, flooding other cultures with
American iconolatry. The popu larity of a movie like Jurassic Park (1993), for instance, was
identified as threatening to the national identity of other cultures. It has also been lamented that due
to the widespread distribution of industrialized music and the loss of music that is charac teristic of
a certain culture, civilizations are increasingly losing a sense of national identity and pride (cited in
Lanza 2001, online).

It has been suggested that Simon is a Christ figure in the novel. Describe some of his qualities and
actions which justify such a comparison.
In the novel, The Lord of the Flies written by William Golding, there are a series of characters
that represent different themes, figures, and ideas. Some characters, for example, show leadership,
wisdom, a desire for power, gullibility, and Christ likeness. These roles are equally as important for
the setup and flow of the novel, but one represents love, sacrifice, and a Christ like idealism more
than the others. Although his age is never identified, Simon is depicted as one of the more mature
boys and seems to be the only one who remains in a constant and civilized mindset throughout his
time on the island. Simon has an innate goodness and represents a constant moral behavior. His
ability to be a light to the other boys along with his ability to recognize that the beast and evil
dwells more so in them than on the actual island, is very important in the novels storyline. The first
major event that really stands out as a representation to Simon s Christ likeness is when Jack brings
back the first pig for the boys to eat. Jack is the hunter in the group and the most evil character of
the boys. Even though he provides food, his desire for power and the re occurring events of his
evil actions show his downfall from civilization. Upon Jack s return with meat, he gives all the

Making predictions also help students to make connections about what is read and real life
experiences. This is a great comprehension strategy because if students are able to make fairly
accurate predictions while reading, he or she will be able to comprehend the story well. Remember
good readers makes predictions.
Step By Step 1. Show students the titles and picture of a book cover they have never read before
and ask them to make a prediction what the book is about.
2. Then read the back cover or inside flap of the book out loud to see how close they came to the
mark.
3. Read a section of text or show another picture and then have students predict what is going to
happen next.
4. Let students write their predictions on sentence strips or prediction card and place each
prediction on the wall. Revisit the predictions once the action has been revealed in the story.
Example
This is an example of a prediction card. Teacher ask the question, where is Pete going? Students
look at each picture and write their guess. The pictures serves as the clue.

The case also highlighted the gravity of recruitment, enlistment, and conscription of child

war crime of enlisting children under the age of fifteen; conscripting children under the age of

interesting to note the offer of a reduced sentence with an apology statement. Lubanga was

poems which are sonnets. This essay will consist of a close reading to William Shakespeare s
sonnet 73 which deals with the theme of life, death and aging. The sonnetconstructs a complex idea
that the themes of life and death can be connected together. The poem contains three quatrains and
one couplet. The poem has an iambic pentameterand has multiple rhyming schemes. The first
quatrain has a rhyming scheme of ABAB, the second quatrain and the first quatrain do not rhyme

Line four was tricky to understand because of how heavily the metaphors used in the line were.
The part where the speaker says bare ruined choirs could be referring to the tree being bare when
the leaves fall and where late the sweet birds sang don t sing on the tree anymore. Line four is
symbolizing that when the speaker was youthful the sweet birds would sing and the speaker is
now older and he realizes that he has gotten older. The first quatrain is a metaphor of life and how
people age and get older. In an article written by Bernhard Frank, Frank expresses that Shakespeare
used the logic of pathos, building our empathy from ruefulness for the yellow leaves, through
resignation, to tender sympathy. (Frank). There are many ways to interpret the first quatrain but
Shakespeare may be pulling on the emotions of the reader.
The second quatrain also starts the beginning of a new metaphor, unlike the first quatrain the
second quatrain focuses on the time of the day instead of the time of the year. In the fifth line of
the poem the speaker is saying that the reader can see him in the last part of the day after the sun
has set and there is light still in the horizon but it s fading away. The line break between line five
and six is very brief, and this may have been down on purpose because the speaker s explanation
of where the reader can see him during the day is a long explanation and the idea needs two lines
so to understand line five

Quality Solutions That Arise by Refining Ideas
Quality solutions that arise by refining ideas Original Issue The current issue is the lack of
enough storage in the studio apartment. There is a need to come up with some practical storage
solutions as the apartment has two (2) small closets and these are not enough for storing the
person s belongings and possessions. This makes the apartment look too crammed, and there are
clothes strewed all over the place, and there is no room for anything else. One cannot properly
sort the dirty and clean clothes as clothes usually get mixed up due to lack of enough storage
space. There is no space for one to keep a shoe rack, and that leads to shoes getting mixed up
with the clothes. Initial Solution Screwing hooks on the walls and running strings or ribbons on
the hooks would reduce the clutter of things that are strewn across the floor and would make
good use of the vertical space and one can use the ribbons to hang displays this would add
creativity to the whole room. The other idea is to screw hooks on the walls then attach a net on
the hooks that would be used to store more stuff that are not used very often. Using old wine
crates, one can have additional storage space in the apartment. They allow one to make good use of
the vertical space without affecting the dГѓ cor of the apartment. The wine crates would be
mounted on the walls or stacked one on top of the other. Critical Examination of Best Solution
Hanging old wine crates on the wall will add creativity to the room,

scene where the conch is used to take turns speaking throughout the book is one of the most
important scenes. It prevents the tribe from getting out of control, plus it was a great way for them

The Controversy Of Book Burning
The Qur an is a religious Islamic book said to be the word of God by Muslims. As the editor in
chief of the newspaper there are many reasons as to why this student s letter should have not been
published in the newspaper. Some reasons why are because the book burning goes against part of
the first amendment freedom to exercise religion. The second would be that it could intentionally
give offence to anyone who practices this religion, it is also tempting others to sin who don t
either understand what is going on or someone who just wants to be a part of the crowd. Lastly
this could cause endangerment to other lives by reckless behavior of people who turn the book

There is a strong likelihood that many people could get hurt if this book burning turns into rioting
or something of that demeanor. Rioting is more common around the world these days, which as
most people have seen it gets rapidly out of hand and cause people to lose their lives, even
businesses are lost. If people who believe in this religion feel threatened or angry due to this public
book burning things could turn bad very quickly. Even people who don t practice the religion but
still don t agree with the whole situation could become angry and the situation itself could escalate
quickly into something life threatening.
As editor in chief of the newspaper I do not believe the letter should have been published due to
the consequences that could arise from this letter. Due to it going against the first amendment,
intentionally offend someone and their religion, tempt others to transgress, and it could endanger
lives by reckless behavior, this letter could cause more harm and damage than it would be worth
to hold a public book burning as a way to express sympathy for the anniversary of the World Trade

The Radicalization Of Terrorist Groups
1. How can extremist groups treat fellow human beings with such cruelty?
When we think of a person who joins a terrorist group we think that they must be a psychopath or
suffer from some form of mental illness. There has to be something wrong with that individual to
be so easily swayed into a group that is so violent and has no regard for human life. However,
classic studies like those performed by Milgram and Zimbardo proved that even stable, well
adjusted individuals can be capable of inflicting serious harm on fellow human beings without any

However, many members are possibly just as ordinary as you or me. Radicalization does not
happen simply by listening nor by an individual s experiences but if you combine the two they
amplify each other and a terrorist could be born. The process of co radicalization was an
important factor I learned from this paper. I do not think any of us realize that as a society the
West contributes to the making of a terrorist. Muslims are drawn to the West as a society of
freedom and the land of opportunity. However, just because there are Muslim we profile and
discriminate against them. In doing this most people do not understand that we are basically
radicalizing them ourselves. Terrorismis all about division and this puts a big divide between us
and the Muslim communities. Leaders and politicians of the West that use aggressive tactics
also fuel terrorism. This was made very clear when al Qaeda reaired Donald Trump s reaction to
Muslim immigration. This article has been very beneficial for me because I am one of those that
feel that we need to take on ISIS in a more aggressive manner. However, after learning about the
research regarding radicalization and group dynamics in this article I have gained a better
understanding of terrorism and how it works. As David Rothkopf wrote after the Paris massacres

What I Learned From The Chief Officer Of The Largest...
When offered a seat on a rocket ship, don t ask what seat just get in Sheryl Sandberg. This quote
from the chief operating officer of the largest social media sites reinforces what I have been
taught since I was young. Taking the chance to do something you could possibly never have the
chance to try again is worth the risk rather than playing it safe and wishing you could have done
it. One of my earliest memories was when I was still living in Robbinsdale. My dad was, and
still is, the type of guy that will let his kids take risks if he knows a lesson could be learned from
the outcome. That is exactly what he did in this situation. I thought is was a good idea to try and
climb up a slide at a busy playground, consequently, there... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Normally I would have never tried this at all, not even thought about it, but something that day
pulled me to try it so I did. Going back and thinking about it now it was a really bad idea because
I could barely water ski in general! The pain was immense, the amount of stinging I was feeling
was like nothing I had ever experienced. I was up and doing pretty well for about 40 feet. Then
my toe caught the water and I went face first into the wake of the boat. As I swam up to the
surface of the water i started laughing uncontrollably, I was laughing so hard I thought I was
going to inhale water. When I reached to surface my lungs were burning, it felt like I had gone
without air for hours. The boat circled back around and a lot of my friends were doing the same
thing I was doing. Through the laughing and the that was awesome dude I became addicted to
trying new things and taking risks. I began to try more and more, than, an opportunity came up
to do a 13 day hiking trip in the very small town of cimarron new mexico at the foothills of the
rocky mountains, I definitely took the chance to do that. Through all of the money I spent on gear
and all of the training I put in so I would survive the trip was definitely worth it. Prior to this trip I
never would have thought it possible for me to climb an actual mountain. Looking over the world
at over 12,000 ft is the most exhilarating experience I have had the chance

Indus River Valley And Nubia Similarities
A Short Comparative Essay of The Indus River Valley and Nubia The Indus River Valley
(Chapter 1) and Nubia (Chapter 2) have some similarities, and quite a few differences. They are
similar in aspects such as agriculture, and trade, while different in things such as culture. Some
similarities and differences are very apparent, while others, not so much. Indus River Valley
agriculture was primarily based on hunting and gathering food, but later on it changed to mainly
farming. They also did things such as domesticate animals. This is very similar to Nubia s
agriculture. They also were hunters, but later changed to primarily farming. Trade in The Indus
River Valley consisted of, fruit, textiles, statues, metals, meats, and other resources.

Land Use Development Patterns And The International...
INTRODUCTION
1.0 BACKGROUND TO STUDY
Land use development patterns (also called urban form, built environment, community design,
spatial development, and urban geography) is referred to as the human use of the earth s surface,
including the location, type and design of infrastructure such as roads and buildings. Land use
patterns can have diverse economic, social and environmental impacts and some are more
accessible and so reduce transportation costs to businesses and consumers.
Transportation on the other hand is the movement of people, information and goods from one
location to another. The specific purpose of transportation is to fulfill a demand for mobility, since
transportation can only exists if it moves people, freight and information around. Otherwise it has
no purpose. Since the 18th century till now, urbanization, multinational corporations, the
globalization of trade and the international division of labor are all forces shaping and taking
advantage of transportation at different, but often related, scales. Consequently, the fundamental
purpose of transport is geographic in nature, because it facilitates movements between different
locations. Transport thus plays a role in the structure and organization of space and territories,
which may vary according to the level of development.

Poverty Inequality And The Poverty
The rich cause poverty because of the inequality and unfairness they bring. The country is put to
blame for the governments and nations decisions. The people themselves can also be put at fault
for poverty because of population but, some can not help it. This affects the poverty threshold, the
people, and the number of people in poverty. Poverty can be solved with the help of organizations,
the government or the president, and happy volunteers who would be willing to do a lot for these
people. Poverty is a well known problem and has been around for centuries.
First off, One cause for poverty is the Rich. The rich bring inequality to the poor. The wealth
difference between upper class and lower class is at its widest point. In most nations today,
inequality the gap between the rich and the poor is quite high and often widening ( Cause of ).
Shows that while the rich are seeing their wealth grow, the middle and lower classes are seeing
financial decline. The distribution of wealth and income reveals inequalities among countries.
Inequality in the distribution of money income causes poverty (Davis 23). The distribution of
wealth compares all the assets held by the richest and poorest members of society. Tanzania is the
largest of the East African countries and one of the poorest countries in the world. During the
twentieth century, the gap between the income of the richest and the poorest countries grew
substantially, for example, in 2006, the average U.S. citizen was

Interventions Of Separation Anxiety Disorder
Interventions of Separation Anxiety
Separation anxiety disorder (SAD) is one of the most common anxiety disorders in preadolescent
children and can cause serious distress in a child s life. Having separation anxiety disorder in
childhood can significantly increase the chances of internalizing problems and other anxiety
disorders. Unfortunately, because separation anxiety is common in children it is hard to determine
if the behaviors the children are displaying are atypical. Although there are various types of
treatment options for SAD, parent child interaction therapy (PCIT) can be extremely helpful
particularly in the school system as teachers can adopt the same techniques using teacher child
interaction therapy (TCIT). Therefore, the child is not only receiving treatment at home, their
treatment is consistent at school. PCIT has proved to be an efficient and popular treatment for
SAD, which will be outlined and confirmed in this paper through analysis of PCIT and TCIT.
Parent Child Interaction Therapy
PCIT focuses on the idea that improving the parent child interaction will lead to improvements in
child and family s functioning (Pincus, Eyberg, Choate, 2005) that have been impaired due to SAD.
Parent s responses to their child s anxiety allows for the continuation of the disorder. PCIT teaches
parents new response methods and improves attachment in result that the child will be able to
separate without distress. There are two phases to Parent Child Interaction

Sexuality In Media Analysis
Sexualization of females has always been a problem. Many of the commercials from the 60 s to
the 2000 s depict women as nothing more than sexual beings to sell a product. We often see
commercials that deal nothing with the topic of sex use it as a means of a way to sell products.
In my presentation I used two videos one with Paris HIlton and the other with Scarlett Johannson.
They each are advertising two well known companies one fast food restaurant and the other a well
known appliance. In my essay I will explain how sexuality in media affects adolescents, the
percentage between men and women being sexualized and the affect it has on young girls.
Although many of the women who are used as sex symbols in media consent to it doesn t make this

A study was done in 2010 by the (APA) or American Psychological Association which showed that
the exposure of this kind teaches girls that they are objects and should be treated as such. This type
of exposure affects girls and women mentally and emotionally with symptoms such as anxiety,
shamefulness, eating disorders, low self esteem and ultimately depression. Dove facilitated a self
esteem project to analyze the effect of sexual objectification and the self esteem of girls. In result it
showed that only 11 percent of girls considered themselves pretty while more than half avoided
participating in basic everyday activities because of looks. Objectification is not a new thing it has
happened throughout history if its not stopped now then it ll spiral even more out of

Robert P. Casey s Abortion Case
It was 19 years later when Planned Parenthood of Southeastern Pennsylvania V. Robert P. Casey,
another abortion case, was brought to the Supreme Court. Prior to the Casey ruling, states had the
power to regulate abortions only in the third trimester. Often times, states who opposed the ruling in
Roe would create additional laws as to make it more difficult to get an abortion. One of these states,
Pennsylvania, formed the Abortion Control Act, requiring an informed consent provision requiring,
at least 24 hours in advance, the physician performing the abortion to inform the pregnant woman
of alternatives to abortion; the risks associated with the procedure; the estimated gestational age of
the child at the time of the procedure; the possible availability of state economic assistance for
prenatal care, childbirth and neonatal care. Women also needed a spousal notification, requiring
women to give prior notice to their husbands. In Casey, the aspects pertaining to spousal
notification of the Abortion Control Act were ruled as unlawful. Having the purpose or effect of
placing a substantial obstacle in the path of a woman seeking an abortion of a fetus that is not yet
viable is an undue burden on the women. Restrictions can be placed on... Show more content on

  • 2. The Cold War Between America And The Soviet Union Between... In studying International Relations, I have realized that, the nature of International politics can be likened to anarchy. This is because in International relations there seems to be no supreme or overriding authority which establishes and maintains rules or laws in international affairs. All States appear to behave in their own interests. A typical case of study is the Cold War. From my understanding, the Cold War describes the relationship between America and the Soviet Union between 1945 and 1980. During this period, neither sides ever fought each other directly, but indirectly they influenced other countries through their ideologies (i.e. America s democracy and Russia s communism) to war. For example, America supplied weapons to South Vietnam (anti communist) to war with North Vietnam (pro communist), who were also supported and supplied weapons by China/Russia. Also with Afghanistan, Americans helped them after the Soviet Union invaded in 1979 by supplying them with weapons to war, without physically involving themselves. This portrays that, in the absence of a supreme power to regulate law in International relations, the system will not be able to provide any public good, in this case, PEACE among states. However, to some extent they do. To achieve this peace, both realists and liberals have outlined various factors that facilitate this provision among States. For liberals, peace among states can be achieved through economic cooperation, democratic peace ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The situation these people were put in only helped improve their creativity, which eventually lead to the irrigation system invention. Towns were increasing in size more and more each day and the small farming communities turned into towns, this lead to people breaking up and herding animals. Next up is the creation of government and religion. The farming communities that turned into towns are now powerful enough to rule others and have government. People wanted their crops to grow so they used religion as a way of practicing their prayers. The Age of Metals was significant in this era because people learned how to made their weapons better and more efficient. Climate changes definitely played a role in the civilization of early humans. The period and phrases that people had to go through to get here was just amazing because groups were united as one, selfless, creative, etc. Since the early humans had to use their knowledge about crops to see if they would survive in extreme climates, this was very helpful. Applying simile, the poet connects the flowers to the stars, Continuous as the stars that shine / And twinkle on the milky way (7 8). A mental picture of infinite flowers is created, while shine and twinkle produce an image of light. Wordsworth uses the light imagery to link the two aspects of nature; the luminous stars of the night and golden daffodils of the day. The second stanza continues the description of the dance Ten thousand saw I at a glance, / Tossing their heads in sprightly dance (12). The image created is of large numbers of flowers moving in unison and expresses the harmony the poet finds in nature. The usage of sprightly makes another reference to light, but in the sense of movement and weight as cloud and floats were utilized in the first stanza. Diction in the second stanza provides the reader with a multi dimensional prospective of Wordsworth s imagery by giving the images action, feeling and weight. • 23. Reflection Of Education In High School It s 1994 in Long Beach, California. Erin Gruwell is just starting her first teaching job, as freshman and sophomore English teacher at Woodrow Wilson High School, which, two years earlier, implemented a voluntary integration program. For many of the existing teachers, the integration has ruined the school, whose previously stellar academic standing has been replaced with many students who will be lucky to graduate or even be literate. Despite choosing the school on purpose because of its integration program, Erin is unprepared for the nature of her classroom, whose students live by generations of strict moral codes of protecting their own at all cost. Many are in gangs and almost all know somebody that has been killed by gang violence. The Latinos hate the Cambodians who hate the blacks and so on. The only person the students hate more is Ms. Gruwell. It isn t until Erin holds an illegal discussion about a recent drive by shooting death that she fully begins to understand what she s up against. And it isn t until she provides an assignment of writing a daily journal which will be not graded, and will remain unread by her unless they so choose that the students begin to open up to her. I like this movie and the way it transitions from bad to good in the way that Erin Gruwell faces a hard time up against these students with harsh realities who don t give a damn about anyone but their own kind. Some people believe that we usually repeat what we did wrongly before. It sounds similar to the British author George Bernard Shaw s idea: We learn from history that we learn nothing from history. However, in my opinion, that idea is completely not correct, because we must learn something from the mistakes we made in the past, so that we would not do them one more timeat the present or in the future. The method of voting in the lobbies for Members of both Houses has remained relatively untouched since its inception, after the great fire of 1834 . There is a common perception that in the process of globalization American products dominate everywhere on the world s markets. Describe some of his qualities and actions which justify such a comparison. In the novel, The Lord of the Flies written by William Golding, there are a series of characters that represent different themes, figures, and ideas. Some characters, for example, show leadership, wisdom, a desire for power, gullibility, and Christ likeness. These roles are equally as important for the setup and flow of the novel, but one represents love, sacrifice, and a Christ like idealism more than the others. Although his age is never identified, Simon is depicted as one of the more mature boys and seems to be the only one who remains in a constant and civilized mindset throughout his time on the island. Simon has an innate goodness and represents a constant moral behavior. His ability to be a light to the other boys along with his ability to recognize that the beast and evil dwells more so in them than on the actual island, is very important in the novels storyline. The first major event that really stands out as a representation to Simon s Christ likeness is when Jack brings back the first pig for the boys to eat. Jack is the hunter in the group and the most evil character of the boys. Even though he provides food, his desire for power and the re occurring events of his evil actions show his downfall from civilization. Upon Jack s return with meat, he gives all the ... The part where the speaker says bare ruined choirs could be referring to the tree being bare when the leaves fall and where late the sweet birds sang don t sing on the tree anymore. Line four is symbolizing that when the speaker was youthful the sweet birds would sing and the speaker is now older and he realizes that he has gotten older. The first quatrain is a metaphor of life and how people age and get older. In an article written by Bernhard Frank, Frank expresses that Shakespeare used the logic of pathos, building our empathy from ruefulness for the yellow leaves, through resignation, to tender sympathy. (Frank). There are many ways to interpret the first quatrain but Shakespeare may be pulling on the emotions of the reader. The second quatrain also starts the beginning of a new metaphor, unlike the first quatrain the second quatrain focuses on the time of the day instead of the time of the year. In the fifth line of the poem the speaker is saying that the reader can see him in the last part of the day after the sun has set and there is light still in the horizon but it s fading away. There is a need to come up with some practical storage solutions as the apartment has two (2) small closets and these are not enough for storing the person s belongings and possessions. This makes the apartment look too crammed, and there are clothes strewed all over the place, and there is no room for anything else. One cannot properly sort the dirty and clean clothes as clothes usually get mixed up due to lack of enough storage space. There is no space for one to keep a shoe rack, and that leads to shoes getting mixed up with the clothes. Initial Solution Screwing hooks on the walls and running strings or ribbons on the hooks would reduce the clutter of things that are strewn across the floor and would make good use of the vertical space and one can use the ribbons to hang displays this would add creativity to the whole room. The other idea is to screw hooks on the walls then attach a net on the hooks that would be used to store more stuff that are not used very often. Using old wine crates, one can have additional storage space in the apartment. They allow one to make good use of the vertical space without affecting the dГѓ cor of the apartment. INTRODUCTION 1.0 BACKGROUND TO STUDY Land use development patterns (also called urban form, built environment, community design, spatial development, and urban geography) is referred to as the human use of the earth s surface, including the location, type and design of infrastructure such as roads and buildings. Land use patterns can have diverse economic, social and environmental impacts and some are more accessible and so reduce transportation costs to businesses and consumers. Transportation on the other hand is the movement of people, information and goods from one location to another. The specific purpose of transportation is to fulfill a demand for mobility, since transportation can only exists if it moves people, freight and information around. Otherwise it has no purpose. Since the 18th century till now, urbanization, multinational corporations, the globalization of trade and the international division of labor are all forces shaping and taking advantage of transportation at different, but often related, scales. • 44. Interventions Of Separation Anxiety Disorder Interventions of Separation Anxiety Separation anxiety disorder (SAD) is one of the most common anxiety disorders in preadolescent children and can cause serious distress in a child s life. Having separation anxiety disorder in childhood can significantly increase the chances of internalizing problems and other anxiety disorders. Unfortunately, because separation anxiety is common in children it is hard to determine if the behaviors the children are displaying are atypical. Although there are various types of treatment options for SAD, parent child interaction therapy (PCIT) can be extremely helpful particularly in the school system as teachers can adopt the same techniques using teacher child interaction therapy (TCIT). Therefore, the child is not only receiving treatment at home, their treatment is consistent at school. PCIT has proved to be an efficient and popular treatment for SAD, which will be outlined and confirmed in this paper through analysis of PCIT and TCIT. Parent Child Interaction Therapy PCIT focuses on the idea that improving the parent child interaction will lead to improvements in child and family s functioning (Pincus, Eyberg, Choate, 2005) that have been impaired due to SAD. PCIT teaches parents new response methods and improves attachment in result that the child will be able to separate without distress. There are two phases to Parent Child Interaction ... Many of the commercials from the 60 s to the 2000 s depict women as nothing more than sexual beings to sell a product. We often see commercials that deal nothing with the topic of sex use it as a means of a way to sell products. In my presentation I used two videos one with Paris HIlton and the other with Scarlett Johannson. They each are advertising two well known companies one fast food restaurant and the other a well known appliance. In my essay I will explain how sexuality in media affects adolescents, the percentage between men and women being sexualized and the affect it has on young girls. Although many of the women who are used as sex symbols in media consent to it doesn t make this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 46. Robert P. Casey s Abortion Case It was 19 years later when Planned Parenthood of Southeastern Pennsylvania V. Robert P. Casey, another abortion case, was brought to the Supreme Court. Prior to the Casey ruling, states had the power to regulate abortions only in the third trimester. Often times, states who opposed the ruling in Roe would create additional laws as to make it more difficult to get an abortion. One of these states, Pennsylvania, formed the Abortion Control Act, requiring an informed consent provision requiring, at least 24 hours in advance, the physician performing the abortion to inform the pregnant woman of alternatives to abortion; the risks associated with the procedure; the estimated gestational age of the child at the time of the procedure; the possible availability of state economic assistance for prenatal care, childbirth and neonatal care. Women also needed a spousal notification, requiring women to give prior notice to their husbands. In Casey, the aspects pertaining to spousal notification of the Abortion Control Act were ruled as unlawful. Having the purpose or effect of placing a substantial obstacle in the path of a woman seeking an abortion of a fetus that is not yet viable is an undue burden on the women. Restrictions can be placed on... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As the door opens, you see the flashing lights of an ambulance. You then realize that paramedics are caring in a stretcher.
