Started in 2004 (under ASTM Committee E13.15) the Analytical Information Markup Language (AnIML) is an XML based standard for capturing, sharing, viewing, and archiving analytical instrument data from any analytical technique.
This paper discusses the AnIML standard in terms of philosophy, structure, usage, and the resources available to work with the standard. Examples will be given for different techniques as well as strategies for migration of legacy data. We will present the updated Allotrope framework and cover .adf files and how they are used. We’ll demonstrate semantic modeling in .adf (OWL models + the SHACL constraint language). We’ll show how the data description layer in .adf can be extended via a “semantic hub” that we call Reference Master Data Management, which can be used across the enterprise. RMDM provides a means to integrate metadata about any data source within your enterprise – including structured, semi-structured and unstructured data. Customer examples from current project work will be given where possible. Last we’ll show scalability of this approach using data science techniques can be employed beyond just the metadata – we refer to this as Big Analysis.

Of course, there are numerous integration challenges on the way:
* integrating batch and stream processors with operational systems
* ingesting data and playing back results while controlling performance crosstalk
* rolling out new versions of synchronous, stream, and batch applications and their respective data schemas
* controlling the amount of glue and adapter code between different technologies
* modeling cross-flow dependencies while handling failures gracefully and limiting their repercussions
We describe our ongoing journey in identifying patterns and principles to make our big data stack integrate well. Technologies to be covered will include MongoDB, Kafka, Hadoop (YARN), Hive (TEZ), Flink Batch, and Flink Streaming.

- Hello, My name is Damien and I am working on the “Plug and Work” project. Would you like to hear more about the project... ? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The motivation of this project is to create a system that can gather data from different health sensors to aggregate them and analyse it to monitor a population (sportsmen for example). For the moment I am working on the part named “enrichment processor” which translates all the different input from the different sensors, which are in different formats into a single xml format. And this in a generic way.
