Maruti launched the Versa MPV in 2001 but it failed to gain significant market share. It was positioned as a luxury family vehicle but was overpriced at 5-6 lakhs, competing with sedans. Low mileage of 11 kmpl and lack of a diesel option also hindered sales. Though price cuts in 2003-04 boosted sales temporarily, Versa was eclipsed by the success of the lower priced Wagon R. Recommendations included lower initial pricing, exterior and feature updates during relaunch, focusing on appearance to compete with rivals, and introducing a diesel variant for better economic value. However, Versa's large MPV body-type and high price positioning remained barriers to widespread acceptance

BSidesNYC 2016 - An Adversarial View of SaaS Malware SandboxesJason Trost
Anyone attending this conference knows the usefulness of running malware in a sandbox to perform triage, speed security analysts' workflow, extract indicators of compromise (IOCs), and to gather useful information for detection and mitigation. When analysts do this, what are the OPSEC concerns regarding tipping the adversary off? Which sandbox providers are better than others in this regard? In this talk we will present some research on taking an adversarial view of the free and widely used SaaS malware sandboxes. When an adversary's malware is detonated in a sandbox, what network artifacts can they see? Can they determine which sandbox provider based on the network? How do malware and related IOCs submitted to these sandboxes propagate to security companies and ultimately threat intelligence feeds? In this talk, we will answer all these questions and more.
Exit Readiness to Maximize Enterprise Valuedavidsaxe
The document discusses exit planning strategies for business owners. It emphasizes that owners should plan their exit at least 12-24 months in advance to maximize the value of their business. By implementing the proper documentation, systems, and risk reduction strategies, owners can lower the perceived risk level for potential buyers and therefore demand a higher sale price. The document provides examples of factors that make a business more attractive to buyers, such as steady revenue and profit growth, and being not reliant on the owner. With the right exit planning, business owners can enjoy a successful exit that maximizes their sale proceeds and sets them up for retirement.

- Least privilege - Give users and processes only the minimum permissions needed to perform their tasks
- Defense in depth - Use multiple layers of security instead of just one
- Secure the weakest link - Focus on common weak points like passwords, firewalls, and buffer overflows
- Fail-safe stance - Assume failures will occur and plan for them by denying access by default if something fails
