This press release from SIAM provides sales performance data for the Indian automobile industry from April 2020 to March 2021. Some key highlights are: - Passenger vehicle sales increased 27% from the previous year to over 2.7 million units. However, commercial vehicle and three-wheeler sales continued to decline compared to previous years. - Two-wheeler sales also increased compared to the previous year, with scooter and motorcycle sales rising, though overall two-wheeler sales growth has slowed in the long term. - Quarterly sales improved throughout the fiscal year as economic activity resumed following COVID-19 lockdowns. However, full year sales across most segments remained below levels from previous years.
