Personal Statement:
The work experience which I am currently undertaking and that which I have previously completed has
helped me decide that I definitely want my future career to be as a legal secretary. A part time contract with
House of Fraser has been invaluable and has allowed me to experience the many different aspects of retail
including the ability to deal with a wide cross section of people. I am a reliable, conscientious and motivated
individual.

November 2015 – Present: King & Wood Mallesons
I am currently taking part in a one day a week work experience at KWM. I have spent time in both the
International Funds and EU Competition & Regulatory Departments where I undertake various duties
including:
• Providing secretarial and administrative support, shadowing the Legal Secretaries
• File management using Worksite
• Updating new client contacts onto InterAction
• Creating and amending PowerPoint presentations (94 page presentation for the IP department)
• Printing billing guides using Pre-Cognition system – typing matter numbers and printing off for the Fee
Earners
• Amending legal documents using Track Changes
• Audio typing using Big Hand digital dictation
• Diary management, sending out e-invites and booking meeting rooms and conference calls
• Preparing bible front covers and indexes
• Various office duties including scanning, indexing, filing, archiving and answering phones
I was successful in obtaining a two week work experience at KWM (15 February – 26 February 2016). I
spent one week in the Intellectual Property Department and one week in the International Funds Department.
During this time I was able to enhance and improve the skills that I have obtained during the one day a week
placement.
March 2015 – present: House of Fraser (Lakeside)
I am currently employed in the Menswear department. I carry out various retail duties including:
• Merchandising
• Giving advice and guidance on product selection to customers
• Balancing cash registers at end of business day
• Working within established guidelines, particularly in relation to brands
• Keeping up to date with special promotions

I spent one week with the legal secretaries typing up documents and helping to prepare for meetings.

I spent one week in the Investor Relations department. My time was spent preparing presentation packs for
clients, confirming meetings via email and calling clients to update the contact list.
Personal Interests:
In my spare time I attend street dance classes; I have previously represented Great Britain in the world
championships. I enjoy reading, watching basketball and athletics as well as attending music concerts and
going to the cinema.
