Unit 2 Task 4
By Matei Turcu and Ruben Sandru
Our idea is about a teenager who is walking down the street on a afternoon before the
halloween night when he suddenly finds a letter with a binary code on it. He goes on google
and translates the binary code, and then when he finds out what it means he's shocked and
we leave a feeling of suspense with the audience by not letting them see what it means. He
then rushes home very scared and tries to sleep. On that day the teen with some other
friends talk about going to the Halloween night looking for candy even tho they are 14-16
years old. The next day the teen told his friends about the message and his friends were
laughing at him and call him a loser because he was frightened. The teen got annoyed and
went home while his friends were still hunting for candy. On the way home a car stopped in
front of the teen.A stranger from the car asks him something while from the other door
comes another man with plague mask. Kidnaps him and puts him in the trunk. (We are going
to use parallel editing in which we show the teen’s friends which are knocking to a door). The
door opens and someone tells the teens to come in, to take the candies. While they take the
candies the door shuts and another 2 or 3 men wearing plague masks kidnaps them as
well. Then at the end of the film we show all the teens in a forest, tied up and behind them
men with plague mask.
Budget
This film is not going to cost a lot because the stuff we going to use is going to our.
Some of the props that we are using are rope, plague mask, duct tape and phones
The Budget is going to be:
● Plague mask - £15
● Duct tape - £5
● Car fuel - £10
● Rope - £2
Mise-en-scene
The mise-en-scene for this horror film is going to be like in real life. The characters
are going to wear casual clothes showing that this can happen to anyone. We also
going to have bad characters which are going to wear a plague mark and black
clothes showing their darkness. For the first part of the film the setting is going to
be in a regular street showing again that this can happen to anyone and at the end
we are going to have a cut which we show the teens in the forest showing they are
weak and can't protect themself
Sound
Our movie will include diegetic sound like dialogues, sound of the engine of the
car, sound of doors closing which the characters can hear it.
We will also include non diegetic sound too, like sound of footsteps, creepy
background music therefore it will build a suspense atmosphere which will scare
the audience
Legal issues
One of the legal issues would be when the stranger comes behind the kid and
kidnaps him, because someone might think that it is real and call the police, and
when the teenagers are tied up in the forest, if someone sees them they think that
it might be real.
