Synopsis of the ideas for the Documentary Our documentary centres around media and the fashion industry.  The aim of the documentary is to understand the link between the media and self-esteem of today's youth. We are going to explore if the media influences  on male and female body confidence to see if the images around us presented by the media are having a profound effect on our self-esteem.
Target audience The demographic : Preliminary, teenage males and females to that of late 20’s. (including women / men who have jobs in the industry).  Quirky and ambitious Also the families that have been affected by the issues around this topic
Importance of Documentary and audience. The media and fashion effects the pubic universally.   Sexualized and media conscious society. Propaganda surrounds us all the time. ITS THE VIEW OF THE PUBLIC GETTING AIRED AND LISTERNED TO! They have a voice.
Audience: Ways of reaching audience?  Keeping interest?
Is it Viable? Making this documentary is highly feasible: Examples include: Currently still at six-form so have access to our year group and staff members for interviews.  Our location is close to London. So travelling is no t a problem.
Ethical issues: Resources : Time Money Upsetting an interviewee or someone answering a questionnaire.
Documentary type: Expository Observational Pro-formative
Inspiration: Gok  - how to look good naked 10 years younger You are what you eat ‘America the beautiful’  film documenatary Dove campaign
Interviews Negative side of fashion (extreme effects):Agreed interview with a recovered anorexia victim. Also a group activity with students. We also want to interview people who agree that media is highly linked with self-esteem however for a balanced view others who’s opinions differ.
Actor annotation:  What you wear and how you carry yourself effects how others view you. This can also effect the answers that you are given by your interviewee
Locations:
Commission: Channel four:Our proposal would fit in with Channel 4 for the following due to the following...  BBC:The ethos is, inform, Educate, entertain.Controversial? SO BBC3 more aim towards the demographic of the youth and mid 20’s.

How? Questionnaires, to gather statistics.  (Quantitative and qualitative data) Official stastics Recorded interviews. The gathering of media pieces such as magazines to be the ‘norm’ images being presented. (pictorial).

  • 3. Synopsis of the ideas for the Documentary Our documentary centres around media and the fashion industry. The aim of the documentary is to understand the link between the media and self-esteem of today's youth. We are going to explore if the media influences on male and female body confidence to see if the images around us presented by the media are having a profound effect on our self-esteem.

  • 5. Target audience The demographic : Preliminary, teenage males and females to that of late 20’s. (including women / men who have jobs in the industry). Quirky and ambitious Also the families that have been affected by the issues around this topic

  • 7. Importance of Documentary and audience. The media and fashion effects the pubic universally. Sexualized and media conscious society. Propaganda surrounds us all the time. ITS THE VIEW OF THE PUBLIC GETTING AIRED AND LISTERNED TO! They have a voice.
  • 8. Audience: Ways of reaching audience? Keeping interest?
  • 9. Is it Viable? Making this documentary is highly feasible: Examples include: Currently still at six-form so have access to our year group and staff members for interviews. Our location is close to London. So travelling is no t a problem.

  • 13. Interviews Negative side of fashion (extreme effects):Agreed interview with a recovered anorexia victim. Also a group activity with students. We also want to interview people who agree that media is highly linked with self-esteem however for a balanced view others who’s opinions differ.
  • 14. Actor annotation: What you wear and how you carry yourself effects how others view you. This can also effect the answers that you are given by your interviewee

More teens are worried about the way they look than they were when our parents were young.Also in today’s society and with stuff like plastic surgery being advertised nearly everywhere makes teens worry about how they look and children are growing up too fast and turning into adults too quickly
