Who Would Be the Audience For Your media Product? How Did You Attract/ Address Your Audience? Jasmin Myhill AS Media Rhys Phillips
Who would be the audience for your media product? Over all my media product is aimed at a majority of males between the ages of 16-22.
Not only would my target audience be interested within the magazine, they are particularly fond of travelling from place to place seeing their favourite bands. With this, if I had the chance to improve my magazine anymore, I would have placed a competition on one of the pages to give a opportunity to my particular target audience. Who would be the audience for your media product? Not only does my target audience have an interest of indie music but also has an alternative like. Including country and folk and some rock and pop. This is so they can be interested in every article and not lose out on an issue, therefore the producer doesn’t lose profit. My target audience wouldn’t only have the interest in the magazine but would also communicate to music through television and radio. Not only this but some features could conclude of some actors which they may share an interest in.
Who would be the audience for your media product? In relation to production, the content of the magazine has to evolve everyone who is particularly interested in the indie genre. However, involving various artists may enhance a wider and more vast number of readership, because of the involvement of more people within the audience. Therefore my overall target audience is aimed at a much more vast population.
How did you attract/address your audience? Not only is the image on the front able to entice the audience but the colours play a vital part in the image that the audience has a first look at. The front cover is the first thing the audience looks at and if it portrays a boring and negative look, the consumer won’t have an interest.
Through this I included black and white to show contrast and eye catching colours such as red and green to enhance it’s look compared to it’s competitors while on the shelf. How did you attract/address your audience?Offers it makes available to the consumer on the front cover and on the contents page isn’t all the context of the magazine. Because of this the reader will come across some interesting articles by surprise and will be enticed to read them. On the other hand, including the top stories will help the reader buy the magazine with the interest to read it because the content ticks all the correct boxes for the readers needs.
However, if more time was available, then including more events and offers in my contents page may have helped my aesthetic quality of either the front cover and/or the contents page included. From feed back I could have changed simple things such as, replace many empty gaps with either more images or include more events. This could have been a chance for me to involve the audience more with competitions and a chance to win tickets to see a particular band or solo artist. On the following slide is a video of feedback from a fellow peer and her opinion of my magazine. How did you attract/address your audience?
