This document discusses using inquiry-based learning (IBL) pedagogies to develop students' information literacy (IL) skills. It describes a university center called CILASS that supported curriculum development projects focusing on IBL and IL. Evaluations found that IBL tasks improved students' research skills if properly scaffolded. Librarians played a key role in advising projects and their IL expertise was valuable. Overall, IBL pedagogies were deemed effective for IL development when implemented with guidance, support materials, and clear connections to assessments.
