Why People Wear Seatbelts
Deciding what to compose my essay of was no easy task. As a sixteen year old girl, many things
today anger or irritate me. I have a different outlook on life than most people, therefore, things that
might not bother the average teen girl infuriate me. After reflecting on the subject for a long time,
I finally came to the conclusion that nothing bothers me more than when people don t wear seat
belts whenever they operate or ride in a vehicle. Maybe it s perhaps because I have seen many
wonderful people pass away simply because they couldn t click their seat beltor maybe it s because
wearing a seat belt is logical, but some people still don t seem to understand. In today s modern
world, there are a lot of inventions that help make our life easier and safer. However,... Show more

Something that irritates me is when people, who obviously know right from wrong, don t use
their seatbelts. There s a reason why not wearing a seatbelt is illegal and enforced in most states.
The leading cause of death among is teens is vehicle accidents. In 2012 it was reported that in
half of the deaths, the person was no not wearing any type or restraint or seatbelt. Meaning
33,000 people died and another 2.2 million were injured. This has a consequence and as a
teenager myself, it makes me sad to think that kids, just like me, had their life cut short. Many of
them could ve went to college, pursue a career, become the world s future doctors, businessmen,
and leaders. Most people don t know what they re risking when they don t buckle up. In addition to

Firewalls And Intrusion Detection Systems Essay
In an e commerce world, organizations are susceptible to hackers and intruders. Thus creating the
information technology protection systems which is used to reduce the possibility of intrusions
from occurring. Intrusions occur by uninvited outsiders (sometimes intruders can be internal users
like employees) who try to access an organization s information system using the internet with the
intent to gain competitive advantage of some sort. Organizations depend on securitytechnology to
avoid loss from security breach, as well as to improve their efficiency and effectiveness. However,
firewalls are also vulnerable to errors, and implementing a security technology comes with
challenges and critical decisions that can possibly cause a financial burden on the organization if
done without seriousness and commitment. Information securityis about managing risk, and
managing risk is about discovering and measuring threats to information assets; and taking actions
to respond to those threats (Al Awadi, Renaud, 2007, p.3). This paper will discuss a few aspects
that are involved with firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
Firewalls is categorized as a preventive control which is used as a defense shield around IT systems
to keep intruders and hacking from occurring, whereas, an Intrusion Detection System (IDS) which
is categorized as a detective control is used to detect intrusions that have already occurred
(Cavusoglu, Mishra, Raghunathan, 2005). However, IDSs are not

Literary Analysis Of Snakes By Danielle Evans
Using Setting to Reveal Character s Isolation: Literary Analysis of Danielle Evans Snakes In the
book collection Before You Suffocate Your Own Fool Self, author Danielle Evans suggests that
the issue of race and how it affects families is still relevant in today s society in a particular piece
known as Snakes. Evans, an American writer, and educator set up the story Snakes to where the
setting is constantly changing, which is reflective of the characterchanging as a whole. Evans
suggests that at the beginning of this story, relationships between characters is shown through the
layout of the setting. The setting begins in an airport in Tallahassee as the protagonist, Tara, is
unsure and confused as to why her parents would... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, [...] there had been no push, no one s hands on [her] back simulates what many
readers may feel, confusion and allows them to come to the conclusion that Tara represents
deceit (63). The different settings Evans presents throughout the story exhibit how all characters
will feel this deceit brought upon them from one character, Tara. Tara holds in this information
from others, causing them to be at fault in the end. According to an edited version of Deception,
by Robert W. Mitchell and Nicholas S. Thompson, deceit is hard to understand when looking
into the situation; however, understanding the child s knowledge, or motivation is essential. Tara
has a motive behind hiding the facts of what truly happened the night of her fall, and that, in the
viewer s eye can be to be recognized by her family and friends finally. In the end, standing out
and being herself is significant for Tara, as [she] remembered quite clearly [...] there had been
nothing but [her], looking down at [her] own reflection, and seeing, at last, a way toward what
[she] wanted most (63). Tara wanted a way out and jumping appeared to be a quick resolution.
Never knowing what is meant by this ending, readers may question if the little girl is finally
escaping reality, and or rather it was her seeing herself just like everyone else, equal at last. The
setting, in the end, represents the amount of deceit Tara portrays without anyone realizing;
however, Tara will finally be at

4.Gargoyles spin offs
Even after the Gargoyles TV show was canceled, Greg Weisman planned a series of possible spin
offs for Gargoyles with the help of other creators. A prequel series called Gargoyles: The Dark
Ages was to take place at Wyvern Castle in medieval times before the events of the show. On the
other hand, Gargoyles 2198 was intended as a sequel set in the late 22nd century when the alien
race called the Space Spawn first mentioned in the episode Sentinel by the alien guardian Nokkar
attacks Earth. Several of the spin offs were based on interesting supporting characters introduced
in the TV show. One of them would have been focused on The New Olympians a group of
mystical beings loosely inspired by the Greek mythology. The other idea was to follow the
adventures of Rory Dugan (voiced in the show by Scott Cleverdon), a modern day incarnation of
the ancient Irish hero Cu Chullain. There was a number ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Critical Success Factors Of BPM
Critical success Factors of BPM
This part of the research will discuss about the critical success factors of Business Process
Management. Prior to the discussion of the CSF s of BPM it is important to point down the factors
that influences success can be classified in to two groups.
The first group consists of the predecessors, which should already exist in the organization, prior to
the implementation of BPM project. The BPM project has only very little influence over the first
group. Example Culture.
The second group consists of the all the other factors (Leadership, Communication, Information
Technology, Methodology, Project Management, and Strategic alignment,) that should be
considered for the implementation of BPM Projects.

Leadership
There are lot of literatures which focuses on the role of leadership in BPM efforts (e.g. Ahadi
(2004) and Sutcliffe (1999)); the role of leadership in BPM process leads to the process driving,
monitoring and controlling. Hammer and Champy (1993) said that the reason for most of the
failures in business process changes is the lack of leadership. They explained a senior management
leader should be effective in eliminating the political issues among the employees in the
organization, should be capable of providing a suitable structure for compensations, solving the
conflicts between the managers and the employees and should lead the IT department in
organizations.
The senior management should have high power which lead to effective implementation of BPM
projects.
Leadership is very important in different phases and levels of implementation of BPM projects and
some of its affects in the process have been explained widely in different research.
Leadership in BPM Success context can be classified in to two main sub constructs. They are as

Essay On The Fall Of The Aztec Empire
Often times people forget just how significant the fall of the Aztec empire is to our current
culture. If the Spanish never invaded the Aztec s there are a number of things that would be
different today such as Christianity might not have been spread because the Aztec s believed in
serving many Gods as well as effects such as the expansion of Mexicoor the non existence of the
Alamo. It is easy for people to analyze the culture we live in but they frequently neglect how it
became this way. The cultural encounter of Spanish invading the Aztecs in the 1500 s was critical
to world historic paths because they helped guide the Spanish to colonize the Americas as well as
the creation of Mexico all caused by a number of factors such as religion, disease and War strategy.

when the Aztecs ruled. In many ways, the Spanish helped the Aztec s prosper, not all of the Aztec

Although all nine planets are a huge part of the solar system there s a lot more to the solar
system than the nine planets. According to scientist the Solar System started out as an enormous
cloud of gas and dust. Scientist believe that the cloud of dust and gas began to collapse under the
weight of its own gravity and it did. The matter that was kept within itself began moving in a giant
circle and at the center of the spinning cloud a tiny star began to form. The star eventually grew
larger and collected more dust and gas that collapsed into it. Farther from the center of the mass
that was being formed there was many smaller clumps of dust and gas that were also collapsing.

A Critical Analysis Of Into The Woods
Into the Woods is a famous musical. It premiered on Broadway in 1987 and has been performed
over 700 times before ending in 1989. The musical is a collection of fairytales from authors Jacob
and Wilhelm Grimm and Charles Perrault and put together in a story with music and lyrics written
by Stephen Sondheim and dialogue written by James Lapine. The musical incorporates characters
from fairytales such as Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk and Rapunzel
and recreates their stories in one storyline. Into the Woodsfollows a baker and his wife who have a
desire to have children and start a family. They soon learn that their inability to have children is
a curse brought upon by a witch. Meanwhile, characters from different fairytales have other
personal goals they want to achieve as well. Through certain circumstances, each respective
character gets their wishes granted and lived happily ever after, only for consequences to occur
afterwards. The story is set in a setting similar to the Middle Ages, with kingdoms, farmers and a
world filled with magic. The story is another fairytale that brings a number of fairytales together
and brings in different worlds to merge into one to tell one unique story. One of the main themes
of Into the Woods is the idea of having a happy ending. After the protagonists go through a tough
journey, a sad beginning to a strange experience, a happy ending is often the best result. After

The rough smell of gunpowder filled the air, clutching our lungs as more and more men fell. Voices
of courage and aggression quickly turned to the sound of men crying, their mouths gasping onto the
air trying to preserve the little life they had left while others simply went silent but the tank
continued to roll. The tank was faring well, its steel exterior and thick tracks shielded us from the
horrors outside. The machine tank continued to roll with me helpless inside, forcing me to watch
and wither. Every muzzle flash, every haunting scream, every bloody detail carved into my mind
forging the worst of all nightmares. Though, even the tank had limits as its tracks eventually gave
way to the onslaught of bullets. Shell shocked and ears ringing, I had managed to escape the

tanks wreckage, the flames ultimately gave way to the night revealing the war torn battlefield.
Lucky to be alive, I fled under fire to the nearest shell hole hoping to regroup with my allies. To

Unteaching The Five Paragraph Essay By Marie Foley Analysis
Unteaching The Five Paragraph essay by Marie Foley is a light hearted but argumentive piece
focusing on the way most school aged children are taught to write. Foley s main point comes down
to the very first words in the essay; The five paragraph formula confuses and alienates students and
undermines our most basic goals as writinginstructors. Foley believes that by teaching children to
write in a formulated manner we are not letting them explore and learn through their own writing.
We are instead giving them the freedom to discontinue the thought process once they feel that the
essaythey have produced meets the formula standards they have been kept to, and refuse to part

Summary Of The School By Donald Barthelge
The question, ...is death that which gives meaning to life? is more than just a question being asked
in the short story The School by Donald Barthelme, it is a question asked by many throughout life
(Barthelme 2). In the short story The School , where a series of unfortunate events are happening
around an elementary school, it begins with something less tragic from a failed school project, to
something dreadful with the death of two students. The author of the story, Donald Barthelme,
addresses the issues of life and death through this, and with the conflict of The School not only
does it teach us to accept death, but also to be responsible with life and to be courageous. The short
storyis centered on an elementary school and is narrated by a teacher named Edgar . The narrator
discusses and talks about the series of tragedies happening around the school in a conversational
manner as if he is story telling or talking about it to us. The way the narrator speaks captures the
reader s attention, which makes the reader feel like part of the story. The story is set up with the

Death without reason makes people frightened, just as how the narrator was frightened. The point
that Barthelme is illustrating here is that we should just be courageous and face our fears. The
request from the children for the teacher to make love with the teaching assistant seems to be a
quest for the opposite of death, an attempt to find that which gives meaning to life (Barthelme 2).
The teacher, feeling just as frightened as the kids, took on the responsibility to be courageous and
grants the students their request, allowing the children to hope for better times and future
happiness. In this instance, the possibility of prosperity arrives in the form of the new gerbil

To light the candle means to see the world full of opportunities for engagement and growth, to see
potential in every person and every idea. To help every one of us to connect with our best selves,
and to truly become an Or Lagoyim a shining light to every nation of the world. More than a
congregation, a kehila kadosha a sacred, holy community.
I became a rabbi because I believe with all my heart that we have this potential. At times a rabbi
might hold the candle to illuminate the dark, but most of the time we search for it together. Judaism
inspires me to be a better person, and when I teach whether it is with one Bat Mitzvah student or a
room full of committee members Judaism inspires each of us to grow, to treat each other with
kindness, patience and respect: to find the light.
Judaism can inspire us to create the kind of holy community that I see here at IHC. My family has

Comparison Of Utopia And Anarchy
Jacquelyn Ramirez 9th English Summer school Writing proficiency The author should ve
included the reason as to why they re in a feud because the article sounds like Utopia and
Anarchy are attacking each other for no reason. In the quote Meanwhile, Utopian citizens
marched against their own capital, insisting that their demands be met , it seems as tho that
information was thrown into the article because that event was taken place during the battle
between Utopia and Anarchy but their is no explanation as to why the citizens are marching
against their own capital. This would make it hard for historians to note the reason as to why
Utopia and anarchy weren t on good terms and why Utopia s people were against their own
government. A correlation from this passage includes the author saying that by composting you
could potentially decrease your grocery bill. I believe this is a correlation because yes, you
could compost and use it to fertilize your vegetable garden and not spend as much money on

Technology And Systems Administration Has Prompted...
As indicated by Kizza (2013), the fast development of systems administration has prompted
expanded security dangers. A large portion of these dangers are an aftereffect of hacking, uncalled
for employments of system assets and system gadget vulnerabilities. Familiarity with the different
shortcomings and vulnerabilities is fundamental to the achievement of current systems (Kizza,
2013).
The system security occurrences are expanding at an exasperating rate each year. As the
multifaceted nature of these dangers expands, so do the efforts to establish safety required to
secure systems. Endeavor server farm administrators and investigators, arrange directors and in
addition other server farm specialists need to comprehend the standards of security so as to
securely convey and oversee organizes today.
Defenselessness Assessment
Vulnerabilities
Laurie (2002) characterizes defenselessness as shortcoming that is profoundly installed in each
system and gadget and along these lines hard to evacuate. Such gadgets incorporate switches,
workstations, switches, servers and in addition the security gadgets themselves. Vulnerabilities in
system security can be considered as the easy objectives inside each system. These vulnerabilities

I Want To Become A Neonatal Nurse
In my life I have thought about doing or being a lot of different things. But I think that I have
made up my mind and when I get older I want to be a Neonatal Nurse. The reason as to why I
want to become a baby nurse isn t really exciting. I want to be a neonatal nurse because it sounds
really interesting and it sounds like something I would actually enjoy doing for the rest of my
life. Since I really want to become a nurse I would have to create a couple habits in order to obtain
my goal. The first habit I would have to make is learningto listen to people better. I struggle with
this because my brain is always wondering off and I can t stay focused for a long time. I know
they make medication for it and I have it, I just don t take it even though I should. Another habit I
would needto create is working better with others. I... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Water is probably my biggest fear. Not drinking water but giant body of water, like the ocean or a
lake. For some odd reason I always think I am going to drown every time I get in any type of
body of water. I think that if I am going to try and become less scared of water I need to learn
how to do some stuff first. First, I probably need to learn to swim. I know how to Doggy Paddle
but I don t think that counts when it comes to swimming Atlantic or Pacific. Another thing I
need to do is try not to worry as much when I go out on a boat or just go swimming. I get so
stressed to the point that I can t even have fun because I am so worried of drowning. I plan to
reach my goals by doing a couple of things. How I plan on learning to swim is I m going swim
more in the summer in a swimming pool. I would go to a swimming class but I went to one
when I was four, five, and six and it didn t get me anywhere. The second thing that I am going to

How Coats s Disease Is An Idiopathic Condition...
Introduction
Coats disease is an idiopathic condition characterized by retinal vascular telangiectasia and
exudative retinopathy mostly affective young males unilaterally (1). The spectrum of Coats
disease manifests from mild to severe visual disturbance. An unusual presentation is with a
macular hole and only few case reports of this rare association exist (2)(3)(4)(5). In addition
surgical treatment of macular hole associated with Coats disease has only been described once by
Wong et al in 2012 (5). We are reporting a unique case, of macular hole in adult onset Coats disease
(6)(7), which was successfully managed with pars plana vitrectomy(PPV) and microscope integrated
Optical Coherence Tomography (MI OCT) assisted internal limiting membrane (ILM) peeling to
ensure hole closure. Though Wong et al reported on closure of macular hole, they reported delayed
hole closure and poor results with conventional management. This case report highlights a better
approach to achieve early macular hole closure with better functional outcome in patients of Coats
disease.
Case Report
A 37 year old man presented with insidious onset painless progressive diminution of vision in his
right eye of 05 months duration. There was no associated history of prior ocular disease, ocular
trauma or any systemic illness. His decimal best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) was 0.05 OD and
1.0 OS. On retinoscopy simple hypermetropia of +1.25 DS OD and +1.50 DS OS was noted.

Daisy Bates Primary And Secondary Sources
The way in which the research is going to be approached will consist of reading, analyzing and
listening to multiple sources on the life of Daisy Bates. This will include examining both
components of the life of Daisy Bates, her involvement in the movement and how this
involvement transitioned into her personal life. I will be looking specifically at the leadership
style she employs as a leader of the movement, the president of the NAACP and as the leader of
the Little Rock Integration Crisis. I will examine both primary and secondary sources to obtain this
information. The primary sources I plan on utilizing are an autobiography, a recorded interview
manuscript and a personal letter from Daisy Bates to Roy Wilkins. The secondary sources that

Comparison Of The Squire And The Canterbury Tales
In the late 14th century that is represented in Geoffrey Chaucer s The Canterbury Tales, the most
perceived element of a true gentleman was conceivably chivalry. This element is demonstrated in
two of the many characters in the story, the Knight and the Squire. The Knight and the Squire are
father and son who are both members of the aristocrat class; both ride honorably on their horses and
have the aura of a true gentleman, but despite their similarities, they are different. Though the
Knightand the Squire share the same profession and are both members of the same aristocratic
class, they differ in the fact that the Knight portrays the ideal society while the Squire displays the
reality of society.
Although the Knight and the Squire both possess the same occupation, they exhibit disparate
approaches in relation to devotion. In regard of battles, it was the prime objective in the Knight s
description, whereas in the Squire s, was barely a significant component. All of the Squire s
involvement amidst the military is very shortly revealed saying that he had seen some service with
the calvary/ In Flanders and Artois and Picardy, (Chaucer 87 88) while the Knight s list of battles
is the focus in his description. The Knight traveled along the Mediterranean coast (Chaucer 61) to
multiple regions including Russia, North Africa, Anatolia, etc. and also fought in fifteen mortal
battles (Chaucer 63) and always killed his men (Chaucer 65) showing evidence of his devotion to

Byzantines Dbq Essay
The Byzantines have made many great accomplishments during the middle ages. Whether you re
talking about the numerous defeats they have in battles to their defenses or the impact they had on
Christianity, there s no doubt of the importance of studying the Byzantines. The purpose of this
paper is to explain why it is important to study the Byzantines.
The Byzantines had many defeats in battles against the Persians, Avars, and Muslim Arabs. The
Byzantines withstood five years of siege by the Arabs, and in doing so, saved Western civilization.
(Doc A) By winning the battles against the Arabs, they saved Constantinoplefrom being captured

The walls surrounding it were there to protect the city against the Goths and Huns, who had
captured Rome already. These walls were able to hold off those trying to invade for almost one
thousand years. There was one wall that bounded the city s seaward sides. The Byzantines built
a moat and three walls, each 25 feet thick, on the land side. (Doc B) Invaders were first faced
with the moat that was 60 feet wide and 22 feet deep. This was normally dry but could be
flooded by pipes if necessary. Behind this was a set of three walls to get through. The first, a low
wall to shield a line of archers. However, if attackers managed to get through the first wall, they
had to overcome the second wall which was 27 feet high. This sheltered even more troops.
Finally if possible to get through all this they had to give there all for the last wall. Standing at 70
feet high, this wall housed more archers and missile throwers. The only thing that could destroy

Endocrine Disrupters
It is important to develop alternatives to fossil fuels because the earth s reserves of these energy
resources are in great decline. The usage of fossil fuel also causes an increase in the number of
carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere. Because of the increase number of carbon dioxide, it
s causing the ocean water to become acidic endangering marine life. Also the smog created from
burning fossil will result like the video we watched about china. In addition, in order to have
sustainable agriculture, the use of fossil fuelneeds to be decreased thus lowering the amount of
pollution in the soil.
3. Endocrine disrupters are toxic substances that disrupt the hormone system in the human body.
They are a problem for humans because the hormone system regulates many things in the body
such as growth, development, and brain function and some of these disrupters interfere with the
function of these hormones from performing it s job. Because some of these toxins may be
carcinogenic and teratogenic, they are a danger to the humankind. We are exposed to these toxins
from the environment such as run off from streams and/or from the food that we ingest such as
fish. We can avoid endocrine disrupters by taking precautionary measures such as avoiding plastics
that contain biphosphenol A (BPA), eating organic food to avoid risk of eating pesticide
contaminated food, and also use cleaning supplies that are certified USDA organic (9 ... Show more

By keeping the fire going they hope to get the attention of people passing who will rescue them.
Because it is linked so closely with the boys return it becomes a connection to civilisation. For
example, the quote The fire is the most important thing on the island. How can we ever be
rescued except by luck, if we don t keep a fire going? Is a fire too much for us to make? Look at us!
How many are we? And yet we can t keep a fire going to make smoke. Don t you understand? Can
t you see we ought to ought to die before we let the fire out? (Pg 80 81) is an example of how
important the signal fire was. In order to stay connected to civilization, the group of boys had to
keep the fire going because it was their only hope for survival. In the early parts of the novel the
boys want to maintain the fire and keep it going which shows the boys want to be able to go
home to order and civilization. However, when the fire is allowed to go out this shows the boys
becoming savages. It is ironic that at the end of the novel a fire does attract a ship, but it is not

Black on Black Racism Essay
Abstract The days of picking cotton and the hierarchy of slaves are long gone but the colonial
mentality of disunity may still exists among African Americans. Some of the major conflicts that
remain at the core of this disunity, include: black on black crime, beauty and self esteem, and
blacks over representation in the criminal justice system. Although there are many reasons that
support these conflicts, one may wonder if the arrival of the social identity of blacks in America is
the root cause for the conflicts. The purpose of this quantitative study is to explore the effects of
racial attitudes of blacks on images of themselves with varying skin tones. Supplemental to the
study of attitudes and images, the social... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
See attached appendix A and B. The arrival of the African American identity began with slavery
and the slave master s behavior toward the field slave and the house slave. In other words, the
identity of the African American was given by European slave masters instead of their personal
creation. African women were raped and the slave master s preferential treatment of their
offspring created a hierarchy among the slaves. As author Roger Smith (2004) explained, power
and privileges were given to those with lighter complexions over those who are darker. In the
days of slavery, light skin blacks were assigned to the house while blacks with dark skin had to
work the fields. (p.1). The promise of educational opportunities were also given to slaves with
lighter complexions. The indoctrination of Jim Crow Laws and white supremacy proved to keep
the institution of slavery going even after its abolishment. Subsequent to the abolishment of slavery,
blacks traveled to northern states and cities and created their own societies. According to author G.
Reginald Daniel, in his book, More than Black, Blue Vein societies consisted of pluralistic elites
within the African American community. Membership in these societies were determined by
individuals phenotypical and cultural resemblance with European Americans (p. 4). The structural
set up of these societies created an illusion of escaping the common stereotypes of blacks. Upon

Globalization Theory
Globalization Theory Globalization theory is defined as an approach that addresses the
development of the global resurgence of religion (Christiano et al., 2016). With the resurgence of
religion came Fundamentalism, which originated in American Protestantism. Fundamentalists
where known for practicing the essential fundamentals of Christianity, fighting back the
modernization of religion. T.K Oommen (1994) defines fundamentalism as text without context ;
meaning the scriptures written back in history where relevant to that history and culture at that time
and place (Christiano et al., 2016). Such texts without context then simply disregard current
settings. Fundamentalists believe their religion is the objective truth, which as a result, defines
other religions as myths (Christiano et al., 2016). Globalization has shifted religious views in our
society, from predominately Fundamentalist based to more modern. This shift in religious views
has resulted in religions catered to anyone and everyone. Faith is what allows us to accept a truth, a
truth believed by many, resulting in religion.
The Truth The three greatest Western religions are Christianity, Judaism, and Islam (Christiano et
al., 2016). Different societies interpret the Word of God differently. As stated in the text, the Word
of God can be magnified or reduced. As a result, this is considered one of the major downfalls of
globalization. Further in the text, it is stated that though religions, like Islam,

Ozzy was writing the song to tell kids that alcohol is not as safe as they think it is. After these
incidents of suicides, people were forced to now take a look at the family life instead of the
actual music (Osbourne). Ozzy had to go to court because of tragedies to explain the lyrical
content of the song. He was not charged in any of the cases. It would have been ridiculous if he
had been charged. It is not his fault for people to misinterpret the meaning of his songs. Some
people do not listen to the lyrics closely. Some just listen to the music and do not follow along
with the lyrics. Heavy metal music has been a source of criticism ever since its birth in the late
nineteen eighties (Coss). Many people criticize this type of music because there is anger shown
in the lyrics. Although the lyrics can be controversial at times, there is no evidence saying that
heavy metal music causes violence. Its controversial lyrics and harsh sounds have made it the
target of much blame for psychological and behavioral problems in teenagers (Coss). Parents of
teenagers now and in past decades have worried about their kids listening to this kind of music.
Most parents do not want their kids to listen to this kind of music; they are afraid that the music
will lead to devastating effects in society. Another reason why parents do not like heavy metal

1. What caused the change in HR with exercise? Muscles use more oxygen and glucose from the
blood with increased movement. This produces wastes that decrease blood pH below the normal
range causing an increase in heart rate. The heart rate increase delivers blood to the lungs and
kidneys more quickly so these organs can remove the wastes from the body. The faster the muscles
use energy and create waste, the faster the heart must pump blood. 2. Discuss the effect of venous

The Case Brought Between Paola Faccini Dori And Recreb Srl
Jaclyn Clark The case brought between Paola Faccini Dori and Recreb Srl was brought before
the Court in March 1992. The case was brought for a preliminary ruling under Article 177 of the
EEC Treaty for the interpretation of Council directive 85/577/EEC. The directive is aimed at
Consumer protections in contracts which are negotiated away from business premises (OJ 1985
L 372, pg. 31, hereinafter the directive ). The main question was if the directive could be relied on

June 30th 1989 Recreb went to the Giudice Conciliatore di Firenze asking for them to step in and
order Miss Faccini Dori to pay, with interest, the agreed upon amount that was in the contract.
November 20th of the same year a judge ordered payment of Miss Faccini Dori. Miss Faccini
Dori then objected to the order stating she had already removed herself from the contract
following the directives instructions on how to do so. Italian law at the time had not yet taken
steps to intergrade the directive into national law even though the time in which they were given to
implement the directive into their national law was December 23rd 1987 and had already expired.
The directive was not implemented until March 3rd 1992 with the addition of the adoption of
another legislative act. Since the directive had not been transposed into national law during the
material time of the claim the national court was indecisive if the directives provisions could be
ultimately applied. The national court then referred the question to the Court for a preliminary
ruling. One of the two questions it referred to the Court was if the provisions in the directive
dealing with cancellation are unconditional and sufficiently suffice. In this regard The Court stated
that Article 1(1) says the directive applied to contracts made with a consumer when the trader, who
is providing goods and services, had independently organized to do business outside of its business

Bipolar Disorder ( Bd )
Bipolar disorder (BD), or manic depression, is one of the oldest mental illnesses, first being
documented in 1st Century Greece by Aretaeus of Cappadocia. He first noted the link between
mania and depression that is so characteristic of the disease. As the years progressed the disease
changed names from mania and melancholia during Ancient Greece and Rome, to manico
melancolicus in the 17th century, lafolie circulaire in 1851, and now, finally, bipolar as defined by
the American Psychiatric Association s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders

analysis of 7,481 individuals affected with bipolar disorder and 9,250 control individuals within
the Psychiatric Genomewide Association Study Consortium Bipolar Disorder group (PGC BD)
(2011). In order to achieve this, they used a variety of methods including a genome wide
association analysis (GWAS), replication study, and a pathway analysis. For the GWAS they used
16,731 BD samples from multiple overlapping case and control studies facilitated by the Psychiatric
Genome wide Association Study Consortium (PGC) and 47,035 individuals for the replication
sample. After receiving the primary genotype and phenotype data for all of the samples, they
combined them into a datasheet with 7,481 unique cases and 9,250 unique controls selected.
The sample was broken down with 84% BD type 1, 11% BD type 2, 4% schizoaffective disorder
bipolar type, and 1% other bipolar diagnosis. They used 46,234 SNP s, or single nucleotide

Pedagogy From The Greek Paidagogia Is The Art And...
Pedagogy from the greek Paidagogia is the art and science of education and the way we teach.
Interest in studying pedagogy and how effective pedagogy is transmitted has increased in recent
years and there are a multitude of sources that we can explore and analyse in order to answer that
question. (M. K. Smith 2012a). Educationis about giving time to discover new concepts whilst
being encouraged to do so in a social environment (M, K, Smith 2012b). Education in general is a
very practical activity and is concerned with changing old principles as well as teaching new
perceptions. Many people have the misconception that pedagogyis only about teaching, it has other
forms, a process of living and not a preparation of future living. (John Dewey 1963). The process
of education and teaching is carried out by several people during our lives, parents and carers,
work colleagues, acquaintances and friends and specialist educators (M. K. Smith 2012c).
A pedagogue in Ancient Greek society was a very important person. There was a noticeable
difference between a pedagogue and a teacher. A pedagogue was very much part of the
household of the young learner, often slaves who were trusted by their master to guide their
children through everyday life. The role of a pedagogue was to act as a companion, ensuring
safety and to act as a guardian during schooling. The pedagogue was responsible for most aspects
of the young child s life in the early years from aged seven to aged sixteen and they

Application Paper The social penetration theory is a theory composed by Altman and Taylor in
which people are compared to onions. This may seem like an absurd comparison, but when
explored more deeply it makes quite a bit of sense. The social penetration theory is a description
of the multi layered nature of people s personalities. As the outer skin of an onion is peeled away
another layer is found beneath it, and if you remove that layer you will expose another layer,
and so forth. The same holds true for people; as we get to know someone better we expose more
layers of their personality and hence become closer to the core of the individual, or the private self

How do we know when to disclose ourselves and when not to? According to Jourard a person is
more likely to self disclose when he believes that his audience is of good will, or someone with
an attitude of love and trust. Now we must ask a question as to how much one should disclose to
people? The breadth and depth of self disclosure is determined by the degree of intimacy a person
wants to achieve, with another. This theory claims that peripheral (public) items are exchanged
more frequently and sooner than private information. This usually happens in the beginning of a
relationship when it is still on a more impersonal and superficial level. According to one study,
only about 2 percent of people disclosed intimate details about themselves during this level of the
relationship, the majority of talk between two individuals on this level was about public items, or
worldly experiences they both knew about. Self disclosure is reciprocal during the beginning stages
of developing a relationship. New acquaintances generally achieve equal levels of openness,
perhaps due to the vulnerability of both people knowing nothing about the other. Instant intimacy
usually does not happen with people, it is something that both parties must strive for in order to
attain. At the beginning of a relationship penetration is usually fast, but as the layers of personality
are revealed, it slows

Electronic Medical Records ( Emr ) Implementation
In recent years with huge advances in information technology and health, the initiatives of
electronic medical records (EMR) implementation has become an on going and difficult process.
The computerization of medical practice is considered to be a new standard for medicine practice.
With the promotion of EMR s, the support for the implementation is supported by the government,
people who request higher quality care, and health organizations. This review will focus on the
implementation process of EMRs within the hospital setting. It is known that the paper system has
disadvantages that concerns the utilization of patient information in a quick, accessible, and
organized manner. The implementation of a hospital wide EMR however, is a extremely complex
matter that involves a range of external skills needed to successfully implement the system
(Boonstra, 2014). A hospital can not only rely on it s internal resources or staff to carry out the
implementation of a EMR system. With concerns of quality and costs, the long term plan of an
EMR systems could save billions of dollars from faster data communication, increase d patient care
with fewer errors, and in addition to improving the quality of health care. From the articles and
studies that this review will be referring to, a similar pattern of implementation process reoccurs.
None of the articles share the same stages of the implementation process, however I have concluded

Analysis of Policy Perspectives
The goal of the LeadingAge Texas is to implement higher direct staffing hours for each resident
allowing for positive outcomes, which is what the government was trying to accomplish through
Texas Quality Incentive Payment Program (QIPP). QIPP implemented the goals of decreased
pressure ulcers, decreased usage of antipsychotics, decrease in falls, and physical restraints (Texas
Quality Incentive Payment Program, 2016). While these incentives assist in improving quality care,
quality care starts at adequate quality staffing. Staffing is the key to quality care and is what
consumers advocate; however, the nursing industry would rather implement incentive programs
(Harrington et al., 2016). As shown by the failure of QIPP and NHQRE, quality staffing is needed
to improve the quality of care.
According to the discussion in the meeting the biggest barrier is funding. The flat rate
reimbursement system allows poor quality FP facilities to be reimbursed instead of using those
funds to support quality care in the NFP facilities. Increased funding is needed, to increase
quality caregiver s wages improving the staffing turnover, and allowing for facilities to provide
medical equipment (THCA, 2016). NFP facilities would receive the funds needed to continue
providing quality care, FP facilities would need to increase their quality of care, and Medicaid
would benefit greatly, by

The Decameron
BOCCACCIO, GIOVANNI

They are merchants of grain with hired help who take their social power very seriously. Lorenzo,
one of their lead workers who takes care of their business is the handsome young man that
Ellisabetta falls heads over heels for. She and Lorenzo share the same compassion and love for one
another and they ignore the social acceptance of their relationship.
Unfortunately, Ellisabetta s brothers are not in agreement with this love affair and are furious
about the disgrace to their family. They are so disturbed about this relationship that they kill
Lorenzo. This misfortune, in turn, creates a major change in their sister s behavior causing her
to be unhappy at all times and without any desire to do anything other than cry. Furthermore,
one night Ellisabetta has a dream where Lorenzo appears and tells her that her brothers killed
him and where they buried him. Ellisabetta, being so blindly in love, went out the next morning
to confirm her dream. To her surprise she found Lorenzo s dead body. Her first reaction was to
take him along with her. Since, he was too heavy, she decided to take his head. This behavior
reflects a girl s first and only love that keeps her from forgetting that life goes on. Ellisabetta
demonstrates without Lorenzo there is no meaning in life. She could only keep living with a part
of him by putting his head in a pot. Ellisabetta buries it with dirt and plants basil over it. This
plant becomes her savior or peace that keeps her alive. Her

Chapter 9 Power Politics And Glory Summary
Chapter 9 Power, Politics, and Glory was a chapter focused on art and how leaders, of different
cultures, used them to portray themselves, or their governments, in a new or better light. Some
key topics that covered the ideas of Power, Politics, and Glory were; The glory of the ruler, The
power of state, War, and Peace. The glory of the ruler is what I thought of when reading the title
of this chapter and is why I chose it. The glory of the ruler was really a focus on the art that rulers
created for the single purpose of showing how great they are. The following artistic devices are
often used to glorify a ruler s image: The idealized image... Symbols...Compositional devices. (Pg.

Assignment Questions On Computer Systems Essay
Assignment 1 Computer Systems
Processor (CPU) The Central processing unit (CPU) is where all the calculations take place within
the computer system. The CPU connects directly to a socket on the motherboard. The processor is
responsible for carrying out instructions (programs), it can take inputs from input devices such as a
keyboard or mouse, and then use this to create an output to be displayed on a monitor or for printing.
Motherboard The motherboard contains the basic circuitry, and many of the components connect to
it. The motherboard is responsible of allocating the power, supplied by the PSU, to the other
components connected to the board. It also allows the different components within the computer
system to communicate to each other and send information around. The motherboard also houses
all of the ports that go on the back panel of the pc.
Power Supply The power supply, or Power Supply Unit (PSU), is the component that supplies
power to the components of the computer system. It does this by converting the AC current from
the mains socket do DC current. The power supply is also capable of regulating the voltage that
the computer system receives this helps to avoid any abnormal spikes of high voltage that could
damage, or destroy components of the computer. PSU s are rated by the number of watts that they
generate.
Cooling (E.g. Fan, Heatsink) The purpose of any cooling device is to draw the heat away from the
components within a computer system

Digital Communication And Electronic Data
Introduction Backing up digital communication and electronic data especially e mails is a very
important IT practice to insure against loss of data. The main reason for backup of e mails is
restore emails whenever required. There have been a lot of cases in the past where emails have
been deleted accidently or intentionally which has created problems in day to day working.
Deletion of emails have hindered court cases and delayed judgement in the past. Cases like
Zubulake v. UBS Warburg have been decided by adverse inference which is nothing but failure
of defendant to provide proof to defend themselves. The Policy presents a mandate for
Universities and colleges in a state to contract a licensed third party who is not bias to archive
all the emails. Unbiased Email archiving is important as more and more lawsuit are being filed
and the defendants are unable to submit any emails to prove themselves innocent. Some of the
cases are Zubulake v. UBS Warburg. [1], and FiTeq Inc. v. Venture Corp. [2] Siani v. State
University of New York at Farmingdale, 2010 WL 3170664 (E.D.N.Y. Aug. 10, 2010)[3] is a case
where the plaintiff Dominic Saini filed a case of violation of Age discrimination in Employment
Act and claimed an adverse inference in march 2010 that the defended State University of New
York at Farmingdale were unable to implement and effectively carryout litigation hold which
resulted in spoliation of electronic records. The judge acknowledged that the defendants were

The Way Of The Peaceful Warrior

Peaceful Warrior

9/2/15
Peaceful warrior is a movie produced by MHF Zweite Academy Film. This movie was a very
interesting film. It teaches you things that are needed in a successful life... The Way of the
Peaceful Warrior is a book by Dan Millman where he talks about his journey from being a self
absorbed gymnast to a peaceful warrior who learned to be happy by allowing life to take its course.
Dan Millman starts the story from his college days in Berkeley University where somehow along
the way of getting ready to be representing his country in international gymnastic competitions, he
started having a lot of new depression symptoms. Soon he started experiencing nightmares, dark and
horrid enough to leave him ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This movie also reminds me while competition has the power to bring out the best in everyone,
too much of anything is bad. When wanting to come out on top becomes the reason you are still
working towards the goal, it becomes a serious problem. Dan s continued resistance and
defensiveness to Socrates teaching points is a validation of the human inability to break old habits
until the human being admits that there is something wrong and there is a need for change. But
what compounds the human problem to break old habits is the fear of change. This is another
reality that the book managed to acknowledge. People don t like to change their way of thinking
because how they think, albeit destructive, is familiar. It seems what the book is trying to imply at
this point is that people are disillusioned into believing that what is familiar is good for

What Does Genetic Inheritance May Influence One- Behaviour
Biological level of analysis Explain how genetic inheritance may influence one behaviour, with
reference to one relevant research study. Genetic inheritance is genes that are gain from parents or
ancestors, usually from generation to generation. Genes define characteristics in a person and are
passed down through generations; however, the environment can encourage these characteristics.
Genetic inheritance does play a role in one s behaviour also their environment. Researchers are not
quite sure on whether if genetic influence or the environment impacts one s behaviour the most.
Research done on families and how the family interacted with each other each day shows genetic
influence. The study to aid the relationship between genetic influence and conduct is the Minnesota
Twins study, which meant to watch the impact of environment and genetic influence upon a large
number of variables which included: brainpower remainder, identity and word related/professional
perks, by exploring the connection between these elements in twins raised separated utilizing MZTs
as a control. Regardless of these shortcomings the study does demonstrate a solid connection
between genetic influence and insight, proposing that genetic influence has a generous impact on
conduct. Heston, in 1966, led an examination to test to what degree schizophrenia is because of
hereditary works. The outcomes demonstrated that 10% of the grown ups with schizophrenic moms
were diagnosed with schizophrenia, while

When an obstacle enters sensory area, it makes the sensor activated and the relay works in reverse
direction making the motors to spin in anticlockwise direction which being attached to pulleys
helps in lifting the two parts of the bridge upwards, this helps that obstacle to pass below the bridge.
With the same process when it goes out below the bridge, it again enters the exit sensor placed
after a certain distance from the bridge, and this time the relay works in the complete opposite
way and the bridge gets in to its original position and the passerby can use the bridge again. (Kumar)

Crime Against Humanity
A crime against humanity is widespread or systematic attacks against a civilian population. Crimes
against humanity is a problem that has repeated itself through history and is still occurring in the
present world today. How countries, that are in a place of power, should or should not respond to
these crimes is a controversial issue that numerous people differ on opinion. Some argue that
nations should act according to their own national interest and do what is best for their country,
including not doing anything at all. Other s have a belief in which countries that are in a place to
intervene should do so. This could be with a forceful militaristic approach. Any crime against
humanity should not be tolerated in this view. Another opinion is that in crisis situations, a
collective effort by an international community, such as the United Nations, should be the people
who respond and resolve the conflict. This takes out individualizing countries, and creates an
international effort. Over the course of history many diverse actions have been taken in response to
a crime against humanity. Some examples as to why an international community or a country
should intervene with full force and right away are through the Ukraine Famine, the Rwandan
Genocide, and the Armenian Genocide.
What is known as the Ukraine Famine was a crisis in which no outside force responded to help the
Ukrainians. When Stalin rose to power as the leader of the Soviet Union, one of his first actions was

Integrative Paper: Comparing and contrasting the concepts of IKM and Kotter
1. Stage one: Establishing a Sense of Urgency in our fast paced world, things and environments
change rapidly. In order to meet the needs and demands of an ever changing marketplace,
organizations also need to change and adapt very quickly. With success hinging on the ability of
the institution to analyze, predict and adjust in order to meet the market demands and
successfully cope with rapidity of change (IKM, pg 7) establishing a sense of urgency as
explained by Kotter would be critical (Leading Change, pg 35). To influence anyone or any
organization to move towards any type of behavior requires the three critical factors of direction, ...

The example of Southwest Airlines and the success of founder, Herb Kelleher illustrates how
leadership being involved in all aspects of the organization and leading by example can drive an
organization to very high levels while the example of the California Electronics firm, though it
appeared they were doing everything right failed miserably and eventually went bankrupt (IKM,
pgs 38 40). I believe the two types of individuals Kotter speaks of as killers of successful change
are not unlike many we have all worked with and around. While Kotter does a great job of
bringing to light something we probably all knew but had never really defined, Buss is bold
enough to borderline categorize these actions as misbehavior (IKM, pg 208). I have worked
around many as Kotter described, snakes and big egos and as I think about the outright damage
caused by these personality types Kotter could have gone farther in his assessment but he does
advocate dealing with the problem at an early stage vs. being relegated to curse ourselves later for
not dealing with the issue (Leading Change, pg 61). Based on my own personal observations while
the snake is busy spreading rumors, talking behind backs and perpetuating mistrust after the damage
is done, the big ego loves to constantly withhold valuable information cause crisis situations and fly
in to save the day. In efforts to build strong teams both texts discuss the need

Ict Uses And Applications Of Ict
ICT USES AND APPLICATIONS 1.How a student and individual can maintain effective
communication with his tutor during studies using ICT.
To enhance academic performance a regular meeting between the tutor and his student is important,
as it helps the teacher to know the student s area of weakness and tackle it accordingly. To ensure
that there is a constant meeting between the teacher and his students, ICT as a tool of
communication is sometimes used to complement or supplement physical meeting as in the case on
online learning As mobile communication technologies enable seamless interaction between people
and integrate the global network (Arminen, 2007). Evidently, there are various kinds of
technological communication tools available, however the ones highlighted here under are the
most learning friendly communication tools i.e. the ones that supports education mostly. These are
termed ICT Education tools enablers and they are:
E mail Messaging: this is an asynchronous system of messaging, unlike the text message email
message allows for a complete details of a subject matter. A student can reach his teacher at any
time by using the email messaging. Consequently, emails help in reducing the cost of transportation
by a student to a meeting with his teacher. A teacher can send a detailed, photographic summary of
his lecture to a student for studies, while allowing room for the student to get back to him if he has
any question through the same means. It would be very

Poverty Is The Main Obstacles And Problem Of The People
Poverty is the main obstacles and problem of the people are facing particularly in the world. As
of 2013, there were about 2.47 billion people in the world living in poverty with an income of
USD 2 or less a day most of them from developing or under developing countries located in African
and Asian continent. The population living under povertyonly declined from 2.59 billion to 2.47
billion between 1981 and 2013 respectively. Hence the declines principally are seated mostly in
developed countries (1).
Poverty is generally defined as the condition or situation of an individual or a community who
does not posses resources or the means to secure a minimum standard requirements of life. The
United Nation, however defines poverty is a denial of choices and opportunities, a violation of
human dignity (2). It means lack of basic capacity to participate effectively in society, not afford
to go to either clinic or school, not having the land on which to grow one s food or a job to earn
one s living.
World Bank states that fundamentally, poverty is pronounced deprivation in well being, and
comprises many dimensions. It includes low incomes and the inability to acquire the basic goods
and services necessary for survival with dignity (3). Poverty also encompasses low levels of health
and no education, poor access to clean water and sanitation, inadequate safety and overall physical
security.
Although the issue of poverty persisted for long period of time, the process of mass in

The Different Types Of Legislatures
The different types of legislatures vary from state to state. Professionalism is defined in our
Textbook, Governing States and Localities, as the Process of providing legislators with the
resources they need to make politics their main career, such as making their positions full time or
providing them with full time staff (Smith and Greenblatt). About 50 percent of states are in
between full time, well paid, and large staffed, and part time, low pay, and small staffed. While
states like California, New York, and Pennsylvania are on the high end in terms of professionalism
in legislature, New Hampshire is known as one of the six least professional. In the United States
there are 28 Republican controlled legislatures and 17 Democrat controlled legislatures, and 5
split legislatures ( Full and Part Time Legislatures ). You will soon see that New Hampshire is in
the minority amongst the states in having a split legislature. Currently New Hampshire is one of
four states with a Democratic Governor, Maggie Hassan, and a split legislature ( 2014 State and
Legislative Partisan Composition ).
The New Hampshire capitol building is in the city Concord. New Hampshire is the 42nd biggest
state in terms of population, holding about 1,323,459 people. The state is made up of ten counties
with a total area of 9,304 square miles. It was the 9th state added to the Union on June 21, 1788 (

I have a different outlook on life than most people, therefore, things that might not bother the average teen girl infuriate me. After reflecting on the subject for a long time, I finally came to the conclusion that nothing bothers me more than when people don t wear seat belts whenever they operate or ride in a vehicle. Maybe it s perhaps because I have seen many wonderful people pass away simply because they couldn t click their seat beltor maybe it s because wearing a seat belt is logical, but some people still don t seem to understand. Something that irritates me is when people, who obviously know right from wrong, don t use their seatbelts. There s a reason why not wearing a seatbelt is illegal and enforced in most states. The leading cause of death among is teens is vehicle accidents. In 2012 it was reported that in half of the deaths, the person was no not wearing any type or restraint or seatbelt. Meaning 33,000 people died and another 2.2 million were injured. This has a consequence and as a teenager myself, it makes me sad to think that kids, just like me, had their life cut short. Thus creating the information technology protection systems which is used to reduce the possibility of intrusions from occurring. Intrusions occur by uninvited outsiders (sometimes intruders can be internal users like employees) who try to access an organization s information system using the internet with the intent to gain competitive advantage of some sort. Organizations depend on securitytechnology to avoid loss from security breach, as well as to improve their efficiency and effectiveness. However, firewalls are also vulnerable to errors, and implementing a security technology comes with challenges and critical decisions that can possibly cause a financial burden on the organization if done without seriousness and commitment. Information securityis about managing risk, and managing risk is about discovering and measuring threats to information assets; and taking actions to respond to those threats (Al Awadi, Renaud, 2007, p.3). This paper will discuss a few aspects that are involved with firewalls and intrusion detection systems. Firewalls is categorized as a preventive control which is used as a defense shield around IT systems to keep intruders and hacking from occurring, whereas, an Intrusion Detection System (IDS) which is categorized as a detective control is used to detect intrusions that have already occurred (Cavusoglu, Mishra, Raghunathan, 2005). Literary Analysis Of Snakes By Danielle Evans Using Setting to Reveal Character s Isolation: Literary Analysis of Danielle Evans Snakes In the book collection Before You Suffocate Your Own Fool Self, author Danielle Evans suggests that the issue of race and how it affects families is still relevant in today s society in a particular piece known as Snakes. Evans, an American writer, and educator set up the story Snakes to where the setting is constantly changing, which is reflective of the characterchanging as a whole. For example, [...] there had been no push, no one s hands on [her] back simulates what many readers may feel, confusion and allows them to come to the conclusion that Tara represents deceit (63). The different settings Evans presents throughout the story exhibit how all characters will feel this deceit brought upon them from one character, Tara. Tara holds in this information from others, causing them to be at fault in the end. According to an edited version of Deception, by Robert W. Mitchell and Nicholas S. Thompson, deceit is hard to understand when looking into the situation; however, understanding the child s knowledge, or motivation is essential. Tara has a motive behind hiding the facts of what truly happened the night of her fall, and that, in the viewer s eye can be to be recognized by her family and friends finally. In the end, standing out and being herself is significant for Tara, as [she] remembered quite clearly [...] there had been nothing but [her], looking down at [her] own reflection, and seeing, at last, a way toward what [she] wanted most (63). Tara wanted a way out and jumping appeared to be a quick resolution. Never knowing what is meant by this ending, readers may question if the little girl is finally escaping reality, and or rather it was her seeing herself just like everyone else, equal at last. The setting, in the end, represents the amount of deceit Tara portrays without anyone realizing; however, Tara will finally be at ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Summary Of The School By Donald Barthelge The question, ...is death that which gives meaning to life? is more than just a question being asked in the short story The School by Donald Barthelme, it is a question asked by many throughout life (Barthelme 2). In the short story The School , where a series of unfortunate events are happening around an elementary school, it begins with something less tragic from a failed school project, to something dreadful with the death of two students. The author of the story, Donald Barthelme, addresses the issues of life and death through this, and with the conflict of The School not only does it teach us to accept death, but also to be responsible with life and to be courageous. The short storyis centered on an elementary school and is narrated by a teacher named Edgar . The narrator discusses and talks about the series of tragedies happening around the school in a conversational manner as if he is story telling or talking about it to us. Comparison Of The Squire And The Canterbury Tales In the late 14th century that is represented in Geoffrey Chaucer s The Canterbury Tales, the most perceived element of a true gentleman was conceivably chivalry. With the resurgence of religion came Fundamentalism, which originated in American Protestantism. Fundamentalists where known for practicing the essential fundamentals of Christianity, fighting back the modernization of religion. T.K Oommen (1994) defines fundamentalism as text without context ; meaning the scriptures written back in history where relevant to that history and culture at that time and place (Christiano et al., 2016). Such texts without context then simply disregard current settings. Fundamentalists believe their religion is the objective truth, which as a result, defines other religions as myths (Christiano et al., 2016). This shift in religious views has resulted in religions catered to anyone and everyone. Faith is what allows us to accept a truth, a truth believed by many, resulting in religion. The first paper, Large scale genome wide association analysis of bipolar disorder identifies a new susceptibility locus near ODZ4, by Sklar et al., combined genome wide association (GWAS) analysis of 7,481 individuals affected with bipolar disorder and 9,250 control individuals within the Psychiatric Genomewide Association Study Consortium Bipolar Disorder group (PGC BD) (2011). In order to achieve this, they used a variety of methods including a genome wide association analysis (GWAS), replication study, and a pathway analysis. For the GWAS they used 16,731 BD samples from multiple overlapping case and control studies facilitated by the Psychiatric Genome wide Association Study Consortium (PGC) and 47,035 individuals for the replication sample. After receiving the primary genotype and phenotype data for all of the samples, they combined them into a datasheet with 7,481 unique cases and 9,250 unique controls selected. The sample was broken down with 84% BD type 1, 11% BD type 2, 4% schizoaffective disorder bipolar type, and 1% other bipolar diagnosis. They used 46,234 SNP s, or single nucleotide polymorphisms, to directly genotype all 11 groups and 1,016,924 NPs were genotyped for 9 of the groups. SNPs are a single nucleotide that is changed that can result in a disease by altering a gene s function. They then used a logistic regression of the case statuses on the dosages of SNPs and determined that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. Pedagogy From The Greek Paidagogia Is The Art And... Pedagogy from the greek Paidagogia is the art and science of education and the way we teach. Interest in studying pedagogy and how effective pedagogy is transmitted has increased in recent years and there are a multitude of sources that we can explore and analyse in order to answer that question. (M. K. Smith 2012a). Educationis about giving time to discover new concepts whilst being encouraged to do so in a social environment (M, K, Smith 2012b). Education in general is a very practical activity and is concerned with changing old principles as well as teaching new perceptions. Many people have the misconception that pedagogyis only about teaching, it has other forms, a process of living and not a preparation of future living. (John Dewey 1963). The process of education and teaching is carried out by several people during our lives, parents and carers, work colleagues, acquaintances and friends and specialist educators (M. K. Smith 2012c). A pedagogue in Ancient Greek society was a very important person. There was a noticeable difference between a pedagogue and a teacher. A pedagogue was very much part of the household of the young learner, often slaves who were trusted by their master to guide their children through everyday life. The role of a pedagogue was to act as a companion, ensuring safety and to act as a guardian during schooling. The pedagogue was responsible for most aspects of the young child s life in the early years from aged seven to aged sixteen and they ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Great Wall of China is made of hang t u or pounded earth. The Great Wall of China is a world wide historical monument, known by many people today. It took about 2,500 years to build. This may seem like an absurd comparison, but when explored more deeply it makes quite a bit of sense. The social penetration theory is a description of the multi layered nature of people s personalities. As the outer skin of an onion is peeled away another layer is found beneath it, and if you remove that layer you will expose another layer, and so forth. The same holds true for people; as we get to know someone better we expose more layers of their personality and hence become closer to the core of the individual, or the private self The outer layers of our personality is the public self, or characteristics... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... How do we know when to disclose ourselves and when not to? According to Jourard a person is more likely to self disclose when he believes that his audience is of good will, or someone with an attitude of love and trust. Now we must ask a question as to how much one should disclose to people? The breadth and depth of self disclosure is determined by the degree of intimacy a person wants to achieve, with another. This theory claims that peripheral (public) items are exchanged more frequently and sooner than private information. This usually happens in the beginning of a relationship when it is still on a more impersonal and superficial level. According to one study, only about 2 percent of people disclosed intimate details about themselves during this level of the relationship, the majority of talk between two individuals on this level was about public items, or worldly experiences they both knew about. Self disclosure is reciprocal during the beginning stages of developing a relationship. New acquaintances generally achieve equal levels of openness, perhaps due to the vulnerability of both people knowing nothing about the other. Instant intimacy usually does not happen with people, it is something that both parties must strive for in order to attain. At the beginning of a relationship penetration is usually fast, but as the layers of personality are revealed, it slows ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Electronic Medical Records ( Emr ) Implementation In recent years with huge advances in information technology and health, the initiatives of electronic medical records (EMR) implementation has become an on going and difficult process. The computerization of medical practice is considered to be a new standard for medicine practice. With the promotion of EMR s, the support for the implementation is supported by the government, people who request higher quality care, and health organizations. This review will focus on the implementation process of EMRs within the hospital setting. It is known that the paper system has disadvantages that concerns the utilization of patient information in a quick, accessible, and organized manner. The implementation of a hospital wide EMR however, is a extremely complex matter that involves a range of external skills needed to successfully implement the system (Boonstra, 2014). A hospital can not only rely on it s internal resources or staff to carry out the implementation of a EMR system. With concerns of quality and costs, the long term plan of an EMR systems could save billions of dollars from faster data communication, increase d patient care with fewer errors, and in addition to improving the quality of health care. From the articles and studies that this review will be referring to, a similar pattern of implementation process reoccurs. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Analysis of Policy Perspectives The goal of the LeadingAge Texas is to implement higher direct staffing hours for each resident allowing for positive outcomes, which is what the government was trying to accomplish through Texas Quality Incentive Payment Program (QIPP). QIPP implemented the goals of decreased pressure ulcers, decreased usage of antipsychotics, decrease in falls, and physical restraints (Texas Quality Incentive Payment Program, 2016). While these incentives assist in improving quality care, quality care starts at adequate quality staffing. Staffing is the key to quality care and is what consumers advocate; however, the nursing industry would rather implement incentive programs (Harrington et al., 2016). As shown by the failure of QIPP and NHQRE, quality staffing is needed to improve the quality of care. According to the discussion in the meeting the biggest barrier is funding. The flat rate reimbursement system allows poor quality FP facilities to be reimbursed instead of using those funds to support quality care in the NFP facilities. Increased funding is needed, to increase quality caregiver s wages improving the staffing turnover, and allowing for facilities to provide medical equipment (THCA, 2016). NFP facilities would receive the funds needed to continue providing quality care, FP facilities would need to increase their quality of care, and Medicaid would benefit greatly, by ... Assignment Questions On Computer Systems Essay Assignment 1 Computer Systems Processor (CPU) The Central processing unit (CPU) is where all the calculations take place within the computer system. The CPU connects directly to a socket on the motherboard. The processor is responsible for carrying out instructions (programs), it can take inputs from input devices such as a keyboard or mouse, and then use this to create an output to be displayed on a monitor or for printing. Motherboard The motherboard contains the basic circuitry, and many of the components connect to it. The motherboard is responsible of allocating the power, supplied by the PSU, to the other components connected to the board. It also allows the different components within the computer system to communicate to each other and send information around. The motherboard also houses all of the ports that go on the back panel of the pc. Power Supply The power supply, or Power Supply Unit (PSU), is the component that supplies power to the components of the computer system. It does this by converting the AC current from the mains socket do DC current. The power supply is also capable of regulating the voltage that the computer system receives this helps to avoid any abnormal spikes of high voltage that could damage, or destroy components of the computer. PSU s are rated by the number of watts that they generate. Cooling (E.g. Fan, Heatsink) The purpose of any cooling device is to draw the heat away from the components within a computer system ... What Does Genetic Inheritance May Influence One- Behaviour Biological level of analysis Explain how genetic inheritance may influence one behaviour, with reference to one relevant research study. Genetic inheritance is genes that are gain from parents or ancestors, usually from generation to generation. Genes define characteristics in a person and are passed down through generations; however, the environment can encourage these characteristics. Genetic inheritance does play a role in one s behaviour also their environment. Researchers are not quite sure on whether if genetic influence or the environment impacts one s behaviour the most. Research done on families and how the family interacted with each other each day shows genetic influence. The study to aid the relationship between genetic influence and conduct is the Minnesota Twins study, which meant to watch the impact of environment and genetic influence upon a large number of variables which included: brainpower remainder, identity and word related/professional perks, by exploring the connection between these elements in twins raised separated utilizing MZTs as a control. Regardless of these shortcomings the study does demonstrate a solid connection between genetic influence and insight, proposing that genetic influence has a generous impact on conduct. Crimes against humanity is a problem that has repeated itself through history and is still occurring in the present world today. How countries, that are in a place of power, should or should not respond to these crimes is a controversial issue that numerous people differ on opinion. Some argue that nations should act according to their own national interest and do what is best for their country, including not doing anything at all. Other s have a belief in which countries that are in a place to intervene should do so. This could be with a forceful militaristic approach. Any crime against humanity should not be tolerated in this view. Another opinion is that in crisis situations, a collective effort by an international community, such as the United Nations, should be the people who respond and resolve the conflict. This takes out individualizing countries, and creates an international effort. Over the course of history many diverse actions have been taken in response to a crime against humanity. Some examples as to why an international community or a country should intervene with full force and right away are through the Ukraine Famine, the Rwandan Genocide, and the Armenian Genocide. I believe the two types of individuals Kotter speaks of as killers of successful change are not unlike many we have all worked with and around. While Kotter does a great job of bringing to light something we probably all knew but had never really defined, Buss is bold enough to borderline categorize these actions as misbehavior (IKM, pg 208). I have worked around many as Kotter described, snakes and big egos and as I think about the outright damage caused by these personality types Kotter could have gone farther in his assessment but he does advocate dealing with the problem at an early stage vs. being relegated to curse ourselves later for not dealing with the issue (Leading Change, pg 61). The population living under povertyonly declined from 2.59 billion to 2.47 billion between 1981 and 2013 respectively. Hence the declines principally are seated mostly in developed countries (1).
