Tale of Two Airlines Essay
Case Analysis Tale of Two Airlines in the Network Age
By AKK
This case analyses Prof. McPherson s service experience with respect to two Airline carriers, which
was not expected in this age of Network and Information Technology and also the service level
expectations from the customers. First we analyze the setting/situation, issues Prof. McPherson
experienced and his assumptions; and then try to address them. The bottom line: addressing such
situations would improve efficiency, customer loyalty, brand name and increased profits
Situation:
* Atlanta s Hartsfield Airport is ranked as one of the busiest international airports. * 3 6PM is one of
the busiest times of the day in terms of airline traffic and the number of people ... Show more content

The technology to communicate between the airlines is available and the customers do expect that the
airlines share their passenger information for connecting flights.
Flight to London left 7 minutes before departure time:
Given the time and weather, the airline crew would have been under lot of stress and might be very
eager to move on to their next task and also we need to consider operational expenses of a foreign
airline. There are multiple issues here: 1. No communication between the two airlines regarding the
flight delays and the connecting passengers (already discussed above). 2. The London based Airline
could have verified their passenger list and should have identified Prof. McPherson as a Gold card
member and a loyal customer and should have taken any one of these actions based on the situation: *
Should have waited until the departure time. * Should have an agent at the gate until departure time
and should have helped Prof. McPherson with alternative arrangements, if he was late.
London based airlines should be able to access their central database from any place in the world and
should have been able to identify their patrons.

Arguments Against Therapeutic Cloning
For many years there has been a large controversy over the use of cloning for therapeutic and
reproductive purposes. The argument against therapeutic cloning is that creating an exact replica of
one s self all for the use of harvesting its parts is considered killing another human being. However,
some people are for this use so that they can survive as long as they can, and use the clones materials
as a way to cure disease or heal injuries. On the other hand, reductive cloning also has two sides, for
and against. People who believe that reproductive cloning is okay, want to create another version of
themselves just to either have themselves as a baby or replace a loved one. But, people who are
against reproductive cloning believe that it is a selfish or unreasonable act to have one birth a ... Show

Some people fawn over the idea of cloning themselves and to have a replica of themselves be birthed
by a surrogate mother. However, I believe that parents who are selfish would use the advantages of
having a baby clone of themselves will overuse the power, and distinguish the rights of the baby. Since
parents have legal right over medical decisions for the child, there is nothing from preventing them
from harvesting their own child for their own good. I may be completely against reproductive cloning,
however, some people and/or parents feel as if having a clone of a lost one will make up for their
absence. Recreating someone doesn t mean that it is the same as the original because, with different
external impacts, a clone can easily have different personalities, feelings, and memories. Therefore
technically trying to bring back someone back, will be emotionally unsuccessful. With the technology
that our world has today, reproductive cloning is absolutely possible and has been done before, but I
believe that it will damage the human

Othello The Moor Of Venice Essay
Othello, The Moor of Venice
The play by William Shakespeare, Othello, The Moor of Venice, was staged for the first time in 1604,
is defined as a tragedy, and Othello as a tragic hero.
Othello is a tale of jealousy and revenge. The game takes place in Venice, while two friends, Roderigo
and Iago, are discussing. Iago has unlucky news: Desdemona, a woman Roderigo hoping to get
married to, has already married Othello, a Moorish General that leads the Republic of Venice Army
troops, who married in great secrecy Desdemona; the daughter of Senator Brabantio. The public soon
learns that Iago has a personal rejection against Othello: he promoted a young man, Cassio, to be his
lieutenant, passing through Iago. The two men decide to go to ... Show more content on

This does not prevent Iago from attempting to ruin Othello s marriage. Once again he tells the public
that he will try to frame Cassio and Desdemona as lovers to make Othello jealous. Cassio goes to
Desdemona to ask her to speak to Othello on his behalf. When Othello enters the room, Cassio quickly
becomes very guilty. Iago seizes the opportunity to convince Othello that Desdemona is having a
relationship with Cassio, he succeeds, and Othello gets more and more jealous. Iago designs a plan to
bring Cassio into the room while Othello is near and says he will confess. Cassio enters with Iago,
who has just told him about his lover White. To Othello, it seems that Cassio admits a relationship
with Desdemona. For the rest of the drama, Iago created a flow of lies that affected everyone. These
lies lead to the deaths of Emilia (wife of Iago) and Roderigo. Othello ends up killing Desdemona out
of anger and jealousy, when he learns the truth of her innocence, Iago was discovered and without
repentance, he was imprisoned.
Aristotle s definition of tragedy is: Tragedy is an imitation of an amplitude; in language enhanced by
distinct and varying beauties; acted not narrated; by means of pity and fear effecting its purgation of
these emotions (Kennedy Gioia, 2016, p.858). He also defines tragic hero as the protagonist, or chief
character of a tragedy, is a person of high state, a king or a

The Importance Of Violence In Schools
When it comes to violence in schools, it s nothing new. Every day, the news media covers a story over
violence happening in school. My views over violence in school is there needs to be better protection.
The safety in schools is important because the kids in school is our future. They are our future
engineers, doctors, lawyers, etc., and if they don t have the protection they need, the kids in school can
t learn. A couple suggestions to make the schools safer are practice the A.L.I.C.E. more than once, go
over what to do when an intruder is in the building, and how to protect themselves and the people
around them.
A way for the schools to be safer is to practice the A.L.I.C.E. A.L.I.C.E. stands for Alert, Lockdown,
Inform, Counter, and Evacuate (Eells). It s effective to practice it because the kids and teachers have a
chance to practice how to protect themselves during a real life events. School intruder situations can
last anywhere between five to seven minutes (Eells). When the school is alerted that they are on
lockdown, teachers are advised to use plain and simple language. They are advised to use plain and
simple language because it won t confuse the children and they can escape quicker. If the class can t
escape through the windows or through the doors, the school urges them to barricade and lockdown
the classroom. Barricading the classroom may include moving file cabinets to the door, shoving desks
against the door also, and covering all windows. After lockdown,

Obesity Epidemic On The Rise And Something Must Be Done Essay
Obesity continues to be a problem in the United States. The obesity epidemic on the rise and
something must be done to solve this issue. About seventeen percent of children and adolescents about
12.5 million are obese (Diet). An adult with a BMI (body mass index) higher than 30% is considered
to be obese (Obesity). There isn t a direct focus on obesity, because people don t think it s an
important issue. To ensure a better future, solution is needed now. The solution to ending the obesity
epidemic by encouraging a healthier lifestyle on children at young ages, improving nutrition at schools
and restaurants, as well as providing more time and space for citizens to get physically active.
The best way to start a change with obesity in America is to begin with encouraging a healthy lifestyle
for the younger generation. The United States has one of the largest percentiles of overweight/obese
children in the world. The public clearly knows this, but is failing to take action. The parents are
responsible for the future of their kids; they should take action early in securing a healthy future for
them. This can be done requiring all students in school to be part of some sort of sport in school or
outside; like a recreational league. It s up to the parents to take responsibility for this and make sure
their kids are active in sports. Most athletes started at a young age, kids learn most at an early age and
tend to carry it on for the rest of their life. Not only is being active

Physical Discipline And Child Abuse
Throughout the years, there has been a lot of criticism and scrutiny regarding child abuse. At one point
it was suggested that physical disciplinary is a form of child abuse, which in turn caused confusion
among much of the population. This notion left parents and caregivers confused on whether physical
discipline, like spanking, was acceptable. As well as an uncertainty of the difference between physical
discipline and child abuse. In order to clear up the misrepresentation of physical discipline and to
elevate the confusion, a comparison between the two terms became necessary. The difference between
physical discipline and child abuse can be distinguished by a few associating key factors. These key
factors include the underlying purpose and objective of the action, the caregiver s level of self control
and the degree of physical force, as well as the caregiver s overall desired outcome.
The underlying purpose and objective of physical discipline and child abuse can actually be derived
from there associating individual definitions. Let s take a closer look at each definition and highlight
keywords that help us differentiate and clarify each objective. According to an online dictionary,
discipline is defined as training to act according to rules. The key words in this definition are training
and rules. In other words, a caregiver needs to be teaching something with a clear set of rules, in order
for the action to be considered a form of discipline. On the other

Prairie Chicken Dance Analysis
The Prairie Chicken Dance Style
In the Native community there are numerous styles such as Grass, Old Time Sioux, Northern
Traditional, Prairie Chicken, Fancy, and Straight dance. Each of the dance styles were brought about
for their own reason and created by different Native tribes throughout North America. The origins of
the Prairie Chicken dance start with the Blackfoot and Cree tribes in the Northern Great Plains. When
the tribes arrived in the Great Plains they were amazed by an animal that was called the Prairie
Chicken. The Native people were so mesmerized by this bird that they started a brand new dance style
to show off the power and confidence of this bird. This style is called the Prairie Chicken dance. In
order for the Prairie Chicken dance to be labeled as one the best Native American dancing styles it
should be a high energy dancing that draws the audience in to watch, have stunning regalia that
catches the eyes of countless people, and have hand items that are stunning.
A great dance should include high energy dancing that will keep the audience entertained while still
staying true to the guidelines of the style. The viewing was pretty amazing watching the males do their
dance numbers while trying to make themselves look aggressive (Prairie Chicken Dance beside a bus).
Most people would laugh at the idea of someone Chicken Dancing however, this dance is not the
children s dance that everyone knows. Chicken Dancing is a masculine dance that is completely

Fozen And The Snow Queen Analysis
Frozen, a spinoff of The Snow Queen, promotes feminism within society and proves the bond between
sisters is capable of healing a frozen heart. The 2013 film illuminates female empowerment and also
displays the concept of child development through Bettleheim s theories. In The Uses Of
Enchantment:The Meaning and Importance of Fairy Tales, Austrian psychoanalyst Bruno Bettelheim
uses fairy tales to display his theories of childhood development. Society questions whether the
updated versions should contain childhood developmental theories by Bettleheim. The film Frozen
and The Snow Queen share commonalities and contrasts through Bettleheim s theories of fatality
within in one s family and the polarities of characters which are revealed through both the plots and
characters. Frozen displays Bettelheim s theory of fatality and its effects on characters through the plot
of the film. Bettelheim discusses how the loss of a parent leads to disastrous events ( Bettleheim 8). In
addition to this theory, the parents death in Frozen symbolizes a period of darkness within the film.
Darkness is displayed through the lacking of communication between the sisters and the insecurities
Elsa faces over her powers. The phrase conceal don t feel, is constantly mentioned throughout the film
(Frozen. Directed by Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, Jennifer Lee and Yasuhiko Nemoto.). This phrase
is symbolic of her parents wanting her to conform to societal norms by not revealing what makes her
unique. In this case it relates to her powers, however, in a real life situation, it could relate to a person
s sexuality, one s political stance, or one s beliefs in general. These insecurities cause Elsa to develop
social anxiety against her sister .Furthermore, Elsa differs from the Snow Queen, because, she is
illustrated as a conflicted heroine within the film. The performance of Let it Go represents Elsa s
freedom from the criticisms of society. Ironically the plot in Frozen differs from the original tale
entitled, The Snow Queen .
Additionally the theming of darkness within The Snow Queen, is illuminated through Bettleheim s
theory of fatality. Bettelheim s theory of fatality does not occur

Case Study Of Tyco s Case
2008). In September 2002, Kozlowski and Swartz were accused of stealing more than $170 million
dollars from Tyco and swindling $430 million in the sale of company shares. Tyco s former chief
corporate counsel Mark A. Belnick was also found to have forged business records to hide over $14
million dollars that he received in company loans (Timeline of the Tyco International scandal, 2005).
The first trial began in October 2003, which was declared a mistrial in April 2004, because a juror said
she received a letter pressurizing her to convict Kozlowski and Swartz. The second trial began in
January 2005 and ended in June 2005, with Kozlowski and Swartz found guilty and in a separate trial,
Belnick was freed of all charges against him (Timeline of the Tyco International scandal, 2005).
The spending and loans were able to go on for so long because of Kozlowski s unethical leadership
style. However, Kozlowski felt right and content about his doings and continued to do so. He was
shrewd enough to understand the loopholes that existed in the company which he could use to his
advantage and was successful in soliciting several confidants who were willing to be his partners in
crime. He intelligently built the required trust with his leadership team, employees and stakeholders,
hence effective in portraying the needed picture to encompass the success of the company. Tyco had
two complex methods of avoiding tax to enhance its financial performance which Kozlowski and

Examples Of Sorrow In A Mercy
Sorrow: suffering from loss or afflliction; feeling grief, sadness, or regret. Everyone has experienced a
time of sorrow in their lives, a time where they struggled through life because of something drastic
that happened to them. In the novel, A Mercy, by Toni Morrison, a mysterious character goes beyond
the simple feeling of sorrow. Toni Morrison decides to name one of her characters Sorrow, adding a
much deeper side of the character. Toni Morrison s use of figurative speech throughout the book helps
show Sorrow s dynamism into someone different, letting the audience learn that not everyone is who
they always seem to be. In the novel, Sorrow is presented to the audience as a mysterious slave, who
is pretty much useless. Sorrow first joined the household after being adopted by Jacob Vaark. Not
much is known about her because she was found along the shore with little background information.

Toni Morrison s uses of figurative speech helped deepen the feelings that Sorrow felt. In the
beginning, Sorrow was seen as a unusual character who seemed very incapable of doing anything. She
was a useless person around the house who could not do anything right. As the book continued,
Sorrow s life started to open up. The audience starts to see Sorrow s life, with power ful words that
they can relate to. They started to see the devastation that Sorrow felt when she lost a child, even
though she barely knew how to take care of anything. Sorrow may not be able to do anything but she
knows what love is. All her life, that is what she strived for: the love of her own baby that she did not
get to experience before. But with her new baby, Sorrow s life became

Communication Plan For An Effective Communication
A communication plan describes the objectives a company will accomplish in terms of sharing
information inside and outside the organization. This communication plan derives from the company s
business plan and is aligned with the overall objectives of the organization. The first and most
important task to be able to design an effective communication plan, is for the responsible team to
evaluate the company s goals and objectives for the period encompassing the plan and be able to
correlate the plan with the overall business plan. Throughout this essay, I will use the lecture from
Rodrigo Garcia Nieto, UPS Americas, on The Importance of the Communication Function in the
Multinational Firm to illustrate examples of an effective communication plan.
There are numerous definitions of what constitutes a good and effective business plan, and within each
company one can tailor the plan to fulfill and give most importance to the part that will accomplish the
objective. Below we will describe one of these definitions and explain briefly each one. An effective
communication plan starts with identifying the brand or the main focus from which the plan will
revolve. Afterwards, the plan will constitute of eight different marketing and advertising techniques
that will help communicate the objective about the brand. These are:
Paid Search
Customer Communication
Exhibits and Fairs
Sales Support
Sponsorship
Social Media
Public Relations

Taking a Look at Hurricanes
Hurricanes are first formed when warm ocean water makes energy for the hurricane and causes
evaporation making air and clouds. The ocean water temperature has to achieve at least 80 degrees
fahrenheit for it to provide energy for the hurricane. The winds will then end up colliding and force
the winds upwards. After the winds have flown upward, they will flow outward above the storm which
will make the air rise. Lastly, the light winds outside the storm will let it grow into a national storm.
There are many tropical stages a storm has to go through before reaching the final hurricane stage. The
first stage is called a tropical wave. A tropical wave storm is basically a low pressured storm following
the trade winds. The second stage is called a Tropical Disturbance. A tropical disturbance is an area of
thunderstorms that will usually form in the tropics area. These storms only last for about a day at the
most and usually produce heavy rain and gusty winds. The third stage is called a Tropical Cyclone. A
tropical cyclone is similar to a tropical wave. It produces a low pressure storm but they develop
usually over tropical and sub tropical waters. The fourth stage is called a Tropical Depression. A
tropical depression is a medium pressure storm with winds approximately 38 mph or less. These
storms are one of the first stages when meteorologists are studying a certain storm forming. The fifth
stage is called a Tropical Storm. These storms are very common because they are the

Hannibal Lecter Essay
The character I choose to do my clinical diagnosis is Dr. Hannibal Lecter, from the movie The
Silences of the Lambs, which is played by Anthony Hopkins. Dr. Hannibal is a psychopath serial killer
who uses charm, manipulation, intimidation, and violence to control his victims and others to satisfy
his own selfish needs. Because he lacks a conscience and feelings for others, he cold bloodily takes
what he wants and does what he pleases, violating social norms and expectations without the slightest

They usually hate their parents. Almost every serial killer is abused as a child, whether it is sexually,
emotionally, physically, or psychologically. This abuse may come from a stranger or a family member,
but many serial killers try to lie about this history of abuse. Most serial killers have records of early
psychiatric problems and often spent time in institutions as children (i.e.: mental hospitals or
psychological rehabilitation centers). They have an intense interest in voyeurism, fetishism, and
sadomasochistic porn at a very early age, and they also have a very high rate of suicide attempts.
Future serial killers share three other traits in their childhoods. More than sixty precent of serial killers

manifestation of their fondness for mass destruction. In addition, almost every serial killer starts his

How Did The Opium Wars Affect China
The Opium wars affected China in many positive and negative ways which ultimately led to further
violent uprising and rebellions such as the Boxer Rebellion and the Xinhai Revolution. The 1st Opium
war was fought between China and Britain and the second between China and Britain allied with
France (Robert, 2003). The wars were fought because of China s refusal to enter the family of nations
on a basis of equal trade and equality in diplomatic relations which meant that Britain decided to use
force instead. This war (which was won by the British) lead to the treaty of Nanjing which
conclusively led to the loss of the Chinese emperor s dignity and respect (Fairbank, 1987). The Opium

Dystopian Bildungsroman
The effect that dystopian societies have on Bildungsroman is not necessarily large, but it still alters the
traditional view of it. First off the dystopian society has a few trademarked aspects. These include: the
use of propaganda to control people, restrictions on freedom, a certain concept is worshipped by
society, constant surveillance, fear of outside world, dehumanized state, real world is banished and
distrusted, individuality is bad, and the society is supposed to be a utopia. (readwritethink.org)
One of the major differences in Dystopian Bildungsroman is that traditionally the protagonist will
have people who are mentors and help them to find their correct place in society, but in dystopia there
are not many good mentors leading ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bildungsroman was originally directly about the protagonist s character formation and finding their
place in society, but the dystopian society brings more of a focus on the protagonist discovering their
place despite the corrupt society surrounding them. In Divergent Tris has a choice to make about her
future, she has her family to stay with and a community that she grew up in and is expected to stay in.
What the society has ingrained in her is that despite what she wants her best place is with her family in
the same faction. Society has supplied them with a false hope of making their own choice when they
turn sixteen. When they do turn sixteen, they must take an aptitude test and attend the choosing
ceremony. The aptitude tests place the teens in simulations of situations that are meant to tell them
where they fit the best in society, and generally the teens only receive one faction that best fits them.
In Tris case she received three different factions as possible choices and was told to keep her results a
secret because this rarely happened and she would be in danger if the people in power found out. This
breaks the mold of Bildungsroman because Tris society has inadvertently given her more than one
option showing that there isn t just one place she can be useful but

Assess the View That Economic Development Is Not Possible...
Assess the view that economic development is not possible without causing environmental
degradation 15 marks.
Overall, I feel that it is mainly large scale economic development projects that are not possible without
causing some environmental degradation. Construction is one of the main reasons for this, for any
development to take place an area must be used efficiently to maximize space for development. A
great example of this is the 3 Gorges Dam in China; this cost over $25 billion to build. Yes, it was
financially positive, however a lot of land was taken, which led to huge disruptions in local
ecosystems.
Also china has a huge demand for Iron; this is in order to build the buildings and also for the growing
demands of the car ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
16 of the top 20 air polluted cities are located in China; this is due to rapid development in many what
were rural areas of China. A massive 30% of china suffers from acid rain, also because air quality is so
poor, 400,000 premature deaths from air polluted causes in 2003. Leaking water pipes contaminated
drinking water, which caused illness throughout China; resulting in 70% rivers/lakes are polluted.
As well as environmental concerns, there are also social concerns, such as the rural population are not
seeing the positives of the economic boom, which is not fair as they work just as hard. Also it s the
rapid development that is taking their farm land to either convert it to homes for the county s fast

and this is in order to keep up with the rapid growth within industries.
On the other hand, there are many other schemes that promote economic development without having
negative environmental impacts. However, these tend to be small scale aid projects as they usually

The two divisions were often on different pages and experienced communication challenges. This
created several pricing difficulties making it even harder to globally market the products. To further
the problem, the ID felt as though their R D received less than sufficient manufacturing resources,
which limited the ability to forecast the global market. Difficulties in communication slowed R D,
decision making, and required a major change in the organizational structure. Gill decided to increase
the capabilities of the ID and give specific regions more power in the decision making process.
Regionalization: New structures were formed in order to approach the ID problems. The
organizational reconstruction focused on speed of results, process to be driven by B L executives, and
input from as many B L employees as possible. A significant amount of time and money was
dedicated to creating a task force that was goal was to evaluate organizational structure. They
concluded that it was necessary for a fine tuning of the current organization structure, a regional

Education And Literacy Development For Preschool Dual...
Introduction
When an educator walks into her classroom for the first time, she needs to be prepared to encounter
students that come from a variety of backgrounds. The children will be in different stages of language
development, and the educator must accommodate for each of these students. Magruder, Hayslip,
Espinosa, and Matera (2013) state, The US Census Bureau projects that by the 2030s, children whose
home language is other than English will increase from roughly 22 percent to 40 percent of the school
age population (p. 9). This increase in second language learners will cause the educator to
accommodate for those needs. Second language learners need teachers who welcome them and
recognize their unique abilities, what they know, and what they need to learn (Magruder, Hayslip,
Espinosa, and Matera, 2013, p. 10).
The article, Many Languages, One Teacher: Supporting Language and Literacy Development for
Preschool Dual Language Learners, explains to educators how to support the language development in
young children who are learning English, how to incorporate Personalized Oral Language Learning
(POLL) into the classroom, and how to be intentional about supporting the needs of the English
language learners. The four individuals who wrote this article consult programs on dual language
learners and have their masters or doctorates in education (Magruder, et al., 2013).
Key Point #1: Supporting Second Language Leaners

Reflective Paper on Group Therapy.
REFLECTION ON GROUP COUNSELLING IN RELATION TO THEORETICAL APPROACH:
Group therapy for me was a very new concept. My understanding towards group therapy was that
every one share their concern issues and goup members discuss about that issue and get different
perspectives about how to deal with that issue by building cohession and trust among the members.
According to zander (1968) a group is a collection of individuals who have relation to one another that
make them interdependent to some significant degree. , Group therapy is a type of psychotherapy that
involves one or more therapists working with several people at the same time.Generally, the
counselling group has a speific focus, which may be educational, vocational, social or ... Show more

By being in a group, we can be exposed to other perspectives on our problems that we may have never
considered. Group therapy is very effective to bring about changes in the member s. The first time I
personally experienced attending a group therapy was part of my course. Through this experience i
can say that group therapy can be very powerful in healing a person emotionally and since the
members were from the same class, where we all have similar goals. Group therapy helped all of us to
establish meaningful and intimate relationship and we also recognised commanality of members needs
and problems and to develop a sense of bonding and we became very close and we could also be there
for each other during emotionally trying times. It also helped me to increase self growth, self
acceptance and self confidence among oneself and group members. Group therapy is a powerful venue
for growth and change. It also helped me in expressing my emotions in a healthy way. I feel that group
therapy is one of the most effective tools for addressing issues among diverse groups. Group therapy
can benefit almost everyone. Like individual counselling, group therapy can benefit almost anyone. It
can be especially useful for people who want to explore their style of relating to others and enhance
their approach to relationships in areas such as trust, intimacy, anger, conflict, assertiveness, risk
taking, self esteem, issues of depression, anxiety, and alcohol

The nature, incidence and ethical issues of creative...
The nature, incidence and ethical issues of creative accounting
1.1 Introduction
Creative accounting is also called Earnings management which is known as the manipulation of
financial information. The term can be defined in many ways. Initially we define it as a process
whereby accountants use their knowledge of accounting rules to manipulate the figures reported in the
accounts of a business (Naser, 1993, p.59).
Creative accounting, at root, is the origin of numerous accounting frauds. Many accounting scandal
cases (like the scandals in Enron, WorldCom, and other firms) in the past few years had happened
with the result of collapse. Most of these scandals were conducted by the senior management of
organisations and many victims ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, managers or directors mean to depict good performance and position by manipulating
figures hence in such way the stakeholders will be shown positive indicators from the financial
statements. By this way, investors will more likely to be attracted and given confidence with this
superb financial report. This can be achieved by modifying the figures in the statements using the
tricks of creative accounting. In addition, how many bonuses directors will receive in a year may base
on the percentage of the profit reported (Shafren, 2009). For this reason of their private interest,
directors may manipulate financial figures to meet their desire. Lttner, Larcker and Rajan (1997) have
the same perspective. They illustrate that when the directors or managers private interest (such as
stock options and bonuses) is rely on the performance of the company, they are more likely to use
creative accounting to manipulate the figures in order to achieve their favourable results.
Another motivation of creative accounting is the positive effect that the income smoothing brings to
the valuation of security and reduces the risk for the analyst. Where management observes a gap
between analysts expectation and the actual performance of the company and when major capital
market transactions are being expected

Analysis Of Jacob Meeting Esau And The Deaths Of Rachel...
Nestled between the heartwarming story of Jacob meeting Esau and the deaths of Rachel and Leah lies
the tragedy that is Genesis 33: Dinah and the Shechamites. With rape and sexual assault gaining more
awareness around college campuses in the United States, I thought it would be interesting to scrutinize
the Biblical scholars perspective on the rape of Dinah. It seems everyone has a strong opinion on how
she was treated and how her brothers treated their hosts, but few appear to have an opinion on Dinah
herself. This is a result of every source at some point essentially expressing the same sentiment: we
can only assume what Dinah thought because she never uttered a word. That said, I will both
summarize what each commentary says about Dinah, as well as offer some reflection on the
commentary itself. The first commentary I read was certainly the most in depth, technical analysis of
Genesis 34. The New Interpreter s Bible (hereby referenced as NIB) paints a compelling picture of the
tale. Interestingly, this was one of the worst sources in regards to looking at how Dinah was treated; it
focused mainly on the action and reaction relationship between the Hivites and the sons of Jacob. It
did note that Dinah is the first daughter of Jacob that receives any sort of recognition, but it also
explained that the most important part of the story was Jacob s curse upon the massacre his sins
executed (NIB 576). One aspect to note is that this commentary never posed the question of

Is Neoliberal Globalization A System Of Smoke And Mirrors...
Neoliberal globalisation has been a system of smoke and mirrors where the basic instability and
unsustainability of the whole system has been covered up by the credit bubble . Discuss
In this research paper I am going to discuss the extent to which neoliberal globalisation has been a
system of smoke and mirrors where the basic instability and unsustainability of the whole system has
been covered up by the credit bubble. I will firstly attempt to define what neoliberal globalisation is,
and explain how it has spread globally. I ll then outline examples of the effect this has had on
countries, and how it has led to the growth of unregulated corporations. Next, I ll try to clarify the key
link that exists between neoliberal economies and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Neoliberalism believes strongly in having an up to date free market, It focuses on the principle of
having a free market with nationalised institutions transforming to become private entities, this leads
to most if not all public institutions being sold off to private investors. It also believes in reducing the
helping hand of government by cutting public services and removing social initiatives such as
unemployment and disability payment. Neoliberalism also believes that to create a truly free market,
there must be no regulation of it; this allows the market to generate as much profit as possible.
Individual responsibility is a key aspect of neoliberalism, as it ensures that the government can be
relinquished of its responsibility to provide for the poorest in society, this forces the poorest to pretty
much fight to survive due to no state healthcare, education or social security. Capitalism is one of the
most important aspects of neoliberalism, it allows anyone to achieve their goals if they have the
determination to follow it through.
Neoliberal globalisation is therefore the global expansion of neoliberal economic theory; this has
resulted in the formation of a global economic system which operates with oversight from neoliberal
economic institutions such as the International Monetary Fund and

The Spiritual Exercises Of Ignatius Loyola
I will explore a few of unique approaches as outlined in the Spiritual Exercises of Ignatius Loyola. I
will describe my experience of integrating some of the concepts of spiritual direction into my practice.
Barry and Connolly in their book The Practice of Spiritual Direction say that, we define Christian
spiritual direction as help given by one Christian to another which enables that person to pay attention
to God s personal communication to him or her, to respond to this personally communicating God, to
grow in intimacy with this God and to live out the consequences of the relationship . Smith says that
spiritual direction rests on the assumption that each Christian believer has the capacity for an
immediate relationship with Christ. This means that the Christian, in real time, encounters the
crucified, risen and ascended Lord . Therefore, my understanding of spiritual direction is that it is an
attempt to help Christians to listen to God s voice, to develop intimate prayer life and relationship with
God and to grow in response to God.
Ignatius Loyola in his Spiritual Exercises promotes our capacity, through our prayers, to hear Christ s
voice and to use our senses to feel and experience His presence. Smith says, Spiritual Exercises of
Ignatius Loyola is very focus on Jesus or, more specifically, on the Jesus story: his birth, life, death
and resurrection. In prayer and through the guidance of the Exercises, we are drawn into the Jesus
story so that our lives

The Debate Over Global Warming
Everyone has their own thoughts about global warming, it s not real or it s too late for humans to fix
the issue, the list goes on. The global warming debate would not be so heated if it didn t involve
politics and it just reverted back to simple science. With many people looking to blame someone or
something it s hard for politics and science not to collide. Below i will focus on how politics are
lacking in effort to stop global warming between the huge oil companies having more influence over
the government, to no laws being enforced. Everyday we can read or hear about climate change and
how it s affected our world and us. New solutions are made up everyday but all have a common factor,
they cost big bucks or in the end will cost someone their money. The immense cost and dramatic
changes to our everyday lives like transportation and energy is something you can t change overnight
and needs to be passed by the government before making any serious changes. This is where you ll see
politics get involved. You then you have the other half of people who think it s just mother nature,
because the earth has been known to have climate changes naturally over thousands of years, this is
where science comes in. Some of these people disagree on making any new changes to human life as
we know it. Climate change is not only a touchy subject for most but it is very touchy in what
influences these unnatural or possibly natural changes. As we drive our vehicles to work, joy rides to

Yellow Wallpaper Influence
Wallpaper, in general, is never appealing, but usually most wallpaper does not make one go
completely crazy and lose their mind. Charlotte Perkins Gilman, the author of The Yellow Wallpaper,
created a wallpaper that did just that. The Yellow Wallpaper is a short story about a husband and wife,
who go to a summer house for the wife s depression. John, the husband, is a doctor and is responsible
for treating his wife. His treatment for her illness is to keep her cooped up in an old nursery room with
hideous yellow wallpaper. The wife, who is also the narrator of the story, slowly becomes more and
more obsessed with the wallpaper pattern as she is forced to stay in that room. The pattern, the wife
believes, is taking the shape of a woman trapped behind the wallpaper. The story ends when the wife
completely loses it and tears down the wallpaper in an effort to free the trapped woman. This causes
her husband to faint and she continues to creep around the room. Gilman s influence for this
challenging story comes mostly from her own personal background. The Yellow Wallpaper relates to
her ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Gilman was unhappy because she felt as though her marriage and being a mother weighed her down.
She only got married because it was expected of women at the time, as one article points out about
Gilman. Charlotte followed tradition and married Stetson on May 2, 1884, though still fearful that her
marriage would put an end to her hopes of having a career (Beekman). In The Yellow Wallpaper , the
wife clearly is not pleased with her marriage, just like Gilman. Several times throughout the story, she
makes comments that hint at her unhappiness. One example of this is in the beginning of the story,
John laughs at me, of course, but one expects that in marriage (Gilman 1). One does not expect that in
a happy marriage and the wife seems to know that, but really has no other choice in

How Did The Enlightenment Impact On American Society
The Impact of European Philosophers
The philosophers in Europe leading to the Enlightenment era have had a drastic impact on the
formation of our government and the way it functions. The Enlightenment era was crucial in
determining aspects of colonial America. America provided a excellent clean slate for the European
philosophers to form, shape, and paint it from the base to the finished masterpiece. Many concepts
were brought to America to build it up to what it is today.
John Locke was a huge philosopher with big ideas. He believed in rights that are given at birth that no
man can take away. Thus, every man is created equal. His views on unalienable rights opened the eyes
of those who did not see. His famous saying Life, liberty, and property , is used in the Declaration of
Independence as Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. This specificity stood out to Thomas ...

His writings allowed others to see the injustice of slave trade and religious prejudice. The Declaration
of Independence reflects the British government s corruption which devastated the American colonies
and drove the Founding Fathers to revolution. Additionally, Voltaire was a staunch supporter of the
freedom of speech, which is emphasized by the American Constitution. Voltaire s ideas painted the
clay of America.
Montesquieu believed in separating the powers of the government and that one branch of government
does not have more power than the other. His ideas were interpreted by Thomas Jefferson and other
American products as Separation of powers and Checks and Balances .
Amendment 8 of our Bill of Rights sates, No cruel and unusual punishment . We can thank Beccaria
for this right. He saw how corrupt and wrong the punishments were and stated in his book, On Crimes
and Punishments that no human should be punished unusually or by any means cruel. He put the

ABC, Inc. Case Study Analysis Essay
ABC, Inc. Case Study Analysis
Introduction
A number of problems were made during the recent hiring process. This case
Study is an attempt to identify and recommend ways to improve this process.
From the information that has been obtained, I believe that a lack of
employee experience and a lack of prior planning and follow up resulted in
a failure to accomplish all the tasks necessary to hire the new employees in a
timely fashion.
Background
Carol Robins, a new campus recruiter for ABC, Inc., in early April he was
able to hire 15 new trainees who were destined to work for Monica Carrolls,
the operations supervisor. From the interviews that were conducted, it
appears that Carl was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Under the topic of supervision, Monica Carrolls could have made
contact more often with Carl. But her job, as operations manager, does not
include his supervision. Another solution to the supervision problem could
be to increase the staff in the human resources department. However, on
examination this does not appear to be the most efficient solution due to the
increased costs.
Another solution would be to maintain the master New Employee
Orientation manual in electronic format. Having the manual in electronic
form allows for easy updating of the policy and procedures, and prevents
inadvertent loss or damage to that document. This method is cost effective
and easily implemented.
Proposed Solutions
#61692; A New Employee Checklist will be created with all pre employed tasks listed on it.
#61692; The Employee Orientation manual will be maintained in an electronic format.
#61692; Some of the pre employment tasks will become the responsibility of the potential employees
to accomplish. Potential employees will report when the tasks have been completed. A member of the
human resource staff will confirm that the task has been completed correctly.
#61692; Employees like, Carl Robins, will be required to submit weekly reports detailing the current
status of all potential employees.

  • 2. Tale of Two Airlines Essay Case Analysis Tale of Two Airlines in the Network Age By AKK This case analyses Prof. McPherson s service experience with respect to two Airline carriers, which was not expected in this age of Network and Information Technology and also the service level expectations from the customers. First we analyze the setting/situation, issues Prof. McPherson experienced and his assumptions; and then try to address them. The bottom line: addressing such situations would improve efficiency, customer loyalty, brand name and increased profits Situation: * Atlanta s Hartsfield Airport is ranked as one of the busiest international airports. * 3 6PM is one of the busiest times of the day in terms of airline traffic and the number of people ... The technology to communicate between the airlines is available and the customers do expect that the airlines share their passenger information for connecting flights. Flight to London left 7 minutes before departure time: Given the time and weather, the airline crew would have been under lot of stress and might be very eager to move on to their next task and also we need to consider operational expenses of a foreign airline. There are multiple issues here: 1. No communication between the two airlines regarding the flight delays and the connecting passengers (already discussed above). 2. The London based Airline could have verified their passenger list and should have identified Prof. McPherson as a Gold card member and a loyal customer and should have taken any one of these actions based on the situation: * Should have waited until the departure time. * Should have an agent at the gate until departure time and should have helped Prof. McPherson with alternative arrangements, if he was late. London based airlines should be able to access their central database from any place in the world and should have been able to identify their patrons. Positive note, ... • 3. Arguments Against Therapeutic Cloning For many years there has been a large controversy over the use of cloning for therapeutic and reproductive purposes. The argument against therapeutic cloning is that creating an exact replica of one s self all for the use of harvesting its parts is considered killing another human being. However, some people are for this use so that they can survive as long as they can, and use the clones materials as a way to cure disease or heal injuries. On the other hand, reductive cloning also has two sides, for and against. People who believe that reproductive cloning is okay, want to create another version of themselves just to either have themselves as a baby or replace a loved one. But, people who are against reproductive cloning believe that it is a selfish or unreasonable act to have one birth a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some people fawn over the idea of cloning themselves and to have a replica of themselves be birthed by a surrogate mother. However, I believe that parents who are selfish would use the advantages of having a baby clone of themselves will overuse the power, and distinguish the rights of the baby. Since parents have legal right over medical decisions for the child, there is nothing from preventing them from harvesting their own child for their own good. I may be completely against reproductive cloning, however, some people and/or parents feel as if having a clone of a lost one will make up for their absence. Recreating someone doesn t mean that it is the same as the original because, with different external impacts, a clone can easily have different personalities, feelings, and memories. Therefore technically trying to bring back someone back, will be emotionally unsuccessful. With the technology that our world has today, reproductive cloning is absolutely possible and has been done before, but I believe that it will damage the human ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Othello The Moor Of Venice Essay Othello, The Moor of Venice The play by William Shakespeare, Othello, The Moor of Venice, was staged for the first time in 1604, is defined as a tragedy, and Othello as a tragic hero. Othello is a tale of jealousy and revenge. The game takes place in Venice, while two friends, Roderigo and Iago, are discussing. Iago has unlucky news: Desdemona, a woman Roderigo hoping to get married to, has already married Othello, a Moorish General that leads the Republic of Venice Army troops, who married in great secrecy Desdemona; the daughter of Senator Brabantio. The public soon learns that Iago has a personal rejection against Othello: he promoted a young man, Cassio, to be his lieutenant, passing through Iago. The two men decide to go to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This does not prevent Iago from attempting to ruin Othello s marriage. Once again he tells the public that he will try to frame Cassio and Desdemona as lovers to make Othello jealous. Cassio goes to Desdemona to ask her to speak to Othello on his behalf. When Othello enters the room, Cassio quickly becomes very guilty. Iago seizes the opportunity to convince Othello that Desdemona is having a relationship with Cassio, he succeeds, and Othello gets more and more jealous. Iago designs a plan to bring Cassio into the room while Othello is near and says he will confess. Cassio enters with Iago, who has just told him about his lover White. To Othello, it seems that Cassio admits a relationship with Desdemona. For the rest of the drama, Iago created a flow of lies that affected everyone. These lies lead to the deaths of Emilia (wife of Iago) and Roderigo. Othello ends up killing Desdemona out of anger and jealousy, when he learns the truth of her innocence, Iago was discovered and without repentance, he was imprisoned. Aristotle s definition of tragedy is: Tragedy is an imitation of an amplitude; in language enhanced by distinct and varying beauties; acted not narrated; by means of pity and fear effecting its purgation of these emotions (Kennedy Gioia, 2016, p.858). He also defines tragic hero as the protagonist, or chief character of a tragedy, is a person of high state, a king or a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Importance Of Violence In Schools When it comes to violence in schools, it s nothing new. Every day, the news media covers a story over violence happening in school. My views over violence in school is there needs to be better protection. The safety in schools is important because the kids in school is our future. They are our future engineers, doctors, lawyers, etc., and if they don t have the protection they need, the kids in school can t learn. A couple suggestions to make the schools safer are practice the A.L.I.C.E. more than once, go over what to do when an intruder is in the building, and how to protect themselves and the people around them. A way for the schools to be safer is to practice the A.L.I.C.E. A.L.I.C.E. stands for Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, and Evacuate (Eells). It s effective to practice it because the kids and teachers have a chance to practice how to protect themselves during a real life events. School intruder situations can last anywhere between five to seven minutes (Eells). When the school is alerted that they are on lockdown, teachers are advised to use plain and simple language. They are advised to use plain and simple language because it won t confuse the children and they can escape quicker. If the class can t escape through the windows or through the doors, the school urges them to barricade and lockdown the classroom. • 6. Obesity Epidemic On The Rise And Something Must Be Done Essay Obesity continues to be a problem in the United States. The obesity epidemic on the rise and something must be done to solve this issue. About seventeen percent of children and adolescents about 12.5 million are obese (Diet). An adult with a BMI (body mass index) higher than 30% is considered to be obese (Obesity). There isn t a direct focus on obesity, because people don t think it s an important issue. To ensure a better future, solution is needed now. The solution to ending the obesity epidemic by encouraging a healthier lifestyle on children at young ages, improving nutrition at schools and restaurants, as well as providing more time and space for citizens to get physically active. The best way to start a change with obesity in America is to begin with encouraging a healthy lifestyle for the younger generation. The United States has one of the largest percentiles of overweight/obese children in the world. The public clearly knows this, but is failing to take action. The parents are responsible for the future of their kids; they should take action early in securing a healthy future for them. This can be done requiring all students in school to be part of some sort of sport in school or outside; like a recreational league. It s up to the parents to take responsibility for this and make sure their kids are active in sports. Most athletes started at a young age, kids learn most at an early age and tend to carry it on for the rest of their life. Not only is being active ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Physical Discipline And Child Abuse Throughout the years, there has been a lot of criticism and scrutiny regarding child abuse. At one point it was suggested that physical disciplinary is a form of child abuse, which in turn caused confusion among much of the population. This notion left parents and caregivers confused on whether physical discipline, like spanking, was acceptable. As well as an uncertainty of the difference between physical discipline and child abuse. In order to clear up the misrepresentation of physical discipline and to elevate the confusion, a comparison between the two terms became necessary. The difference between physical discipline and child abuse can be distinguished by a few associating key factors. • 8. Prairie Chicken Dance Analysis The Prairie Chicken Dance Style In the Native community there are numerous styles such as Grass, Old Time Sioux, Northern Traditional, Prairie Chicken, Fancy, and Straight dance. Each of the dance styles were brought about for their own reason and created by different Native tribes throughout North America. The origins of the Prairie Chicken dance start with the Blackfoot and Cree tribes in the Northern Great Plains. When the tribes arrived in the Great Plains they were amazed by an animal that was called the Prairie Chicken. The Native people were so mesmerized by this bird that they started a brand new dance style to show off the power and confidence of this bird. This style is called the Prairie Chicken dance. In order for the Prairie Chicken dance to be labeled as one the best Native American dancing styles it should be a high energy dancing that draws the audience in to watch, have stunning regalia that catches the eyes of countless people, and have hand items that are stunning. • 9. Fozen And The Snow Queen Analysis Frozen, a spinoff of The Snow Queen, promotes feminism within society and proves the bond between sisters is capable of healing a frozen heart. The 2013 film illuminates female empowerment and also displays the concept of child development through Bettleheim s theories. In The Uses Of Enchantment:The Meaning and Importance of Fairy Tales, Austrian psychoanalyst Bruno Bettelheim uses fairy tales to display his theories of childhood development. Society questions whether the updated versions should contain childhood developmental theories by Bettleheim. The film Frozen and The Snow Queen share commonalities and contrasts through Bettleheim s theories of fatality within in one s family and the polarities of characters which are revealed through both the plots and characters. Frozen displays Bettelheim s theory of fatality and its effects on characters through the plot of the film. Bettelheim discusses how the loss of a parent leads to disastrous events ( Bettleheim 8). In addition to this theory, the parents death in Frozen symbolizes a period of darkness within the film. Darkness is displayed through the lacking of communication between the sisters and the insecurities Elsa faces over her powers. The phrase conceal don t feel, is constantly mentioned throughout the film (Frozen. Directed by Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, Jennifer Lee and Yasuhiko Nemoto.). This phrase is symbolic of her parents wanting her to conform to societal norms by not revealing what makes her unique. In this case it relates to her powers, however, in a real life situation, it could relate to a person s sexuality, one s political stance, or one s beliefs in general. These insecurities cause Elsa to develop social anxiety against her sister .Furthermore, Elsa differs from the Snow Queen, because, she is illustrated as a conflicted heroine within the film. The performance of Let it Go represents Elsa s freedom from the criticisms of society. Ironically the plot in Frozen differs from the original tale entitled, The Snow Queen . Additionally the theming of darkness within The Snow Queen, is illuminated through Bettleheim s theory of fatality. Bettelheim s theory of fatality does not occur ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Case Study Of Tyco s Case 2008). In September 2002, Kozlowski and Swartz were accused of stealing more than $170 million dollars from Tyco and swindling $430 million in the sale of company shares. Tyco s former chief corporate counsel Mark A. Belnick was also found to have forged business records to hide over $14 million dollars that he received in company loans (Timeline of the Tyco International scandal, 2005). The first trial began in October 2003, which was declared a mistrial in April 2004, because a juror said she received a letter pressurizing her to convict Kozlowski and Swartz. The second trial began in January 2005 and ended in June 2005, with Kozlowski and Swartz found guilty and in a separate trial, Belnick was freed of all charges against him (Timeline of the Tyco International scandal, 2005). The spending and loans were able to go on for so long because of Kozlowski s unethical leadership style. However, Kozlowski felt right and content about his doings and continued to do so. He was shrewd enough to understand the loopholes that existed in the company which he could use to his advantage and was successful in soliciting several confidants who were willing to be his partners in crime. He intelligently built the required trust with his leadership team, employees and stakeholders, hence effective in portraying the needed picture to encompass the success of the company. Everyone has experienced a time of sorrow in their lives, a time where they struggled through life because of something drastic that happened to them. In the novel, A Mercy, by Toni Morrison, a mysterious character goes beyond the simple feeling of sorrow. Toni Morrison decides to name one of her characters Sorrow, adding a much deeper side of the character. Toni Morrison s use of figurative speech throughout the book helps show Sorrow s dynamism into someone different, letting the audience learn that not everyone is who they always seem to be. In the novel, Sorrow is presented to the audience as a mysterious slave, who is pretty much useless. Sorrow first joined the household after being adopted by Jacob Vaark. Not much is known about her because she was found along the shore with little background information. • 12. Communication Plan For An Effective Communication A communication plan describes the objectives a company will accomplish in terms of sharing information inside and outside the organization. This communication plan derives from the company s business plan and is aligned with the overall objectives of the organization. The first and most important task to be able to design an effective communication plan, is for the responsible team to evaluate the company s goals and objectives for the period encompassing the plan and be able to correlate the plan with the overall business plan. Throughout this essay, I will use the lecture from Rodrigo Garcia Nieto, UPS Americas, on The Importance of the Communication Function in the Multinational Firm to illustrate examples of an effective communication plan. There are numerous definitions of what constitutes a good and effective business plan, and within each company one can tailor the plan to fulfill and give most importance to the part that will accomplish the objective. Below we will describe one of these definitions and explain briefly each one. An effective communication plan starts with identifying the brand or the main focus from which the plan will revolve. Afterwards, the plan will constitute of eight different marketing and advertising techniques that will help communicate the objective about the brand. • 13. Taking a Look at Hurricanes Hurricanes are first formed when warm ocean water makes energy for the hurricane and causes evaporation making air and clouds. The ocean water temperature has to achieve at least 80 degrees fahrenheit for it to provide energy for the hurricane. The winds will then end up colliding and force the winds upwards. After the winds have flown upward, they will flow outward above the storm which will make the air rise. Lastly, the light winds outside the storm will let it grow into a national storm. There are many tropical stages a storm has to go through before reaching the final hurricane stage. The first stage is called a tropical wave. A tropical wave storm is basically a low pressured storm following the trade winds. The second stage is called a Tropical Disturbance. A tropical disturbance is an area of thunderstorms that will usually form in the tropics area. These storms only last for about a day at the most and usually produce heavy rain and gusty winds. The third stage is called a Tropical Cyclone. A tropical cyclone is similar to a tropical wave. It produces a low pressure storm but they develop usually over tropical and sub tropical waters. The fourth stage is called a Tropical Depression. A tropical depression is a medium pressure storm with winds approximately 38 mph or less. These storms are one of the first stages when meteorologists are studying a certain storm forming. The fifth stage is called a Tropical Storm. These storms are very common because they are the ... Dr. Hannibal is a psychopath serial killer who uses charm, manipulation, intimidation, and violence to control his victims and others to satisfy his own selfish needs. Because he lacks a conscience and feelings for others, he cold bloodily takes what he wants and does what he pleases, violating social norms and expectations without the slightest sin of remorse, guilt, or regret. Almost every serial killer is abused as a child, whether it is sexually, emotionally, physically, or psychologically. This abuse may come from a stranger or a family member, but many serial killers try to lie about this history of abuse. Most serial killers have records of early psychiatric problems and often spent time in institutions as children (i.e.: mental hospitals or psychological rehabilitation centers). They have an intense interest in voyeurism, fetishism, and sadomasochistic porn at a very early age, and they also have a very high rate of suicide attempts. Future serial killers share three other traits in their childhoods. More than sixty precent of serial killers wet their beds past the age of twelve. They also have a fascination with fire, which may be an early manifestation of their fondness for mass destruction. In addition, almost every serial killer starts his abuse and sadistic torture on animal victims (Fisher and Fisher, 2003). The wars were fought because of China s refusal to enter the family of nations on a basis of equal trade and equality in diplomatic relations which meant that Britain decided to use force instead. First off the dystopian society has a few trademarked aspects. These include: the use of propaganda to control people, restrictions on freedom, a certain concept is worshipped by society, constant surveillance, fear of outside world, dehumanized state, real world is banished and distrusted, individuality is bad, and the society is supposed to be a utopia. What the society has ingrained in her is that despite what she wants her best place is with her family in the same faction. Society has supplied them with a false hope of making their own choice when they turn sixteen. When they do turn sixteen, they must take an aptitude test and attend the choosing ceremony. The aptitude tests place the teens in simulations of situations that are meant to tell them where they fit the best in society, and generally the teens only receive one faction that best fits them. In Tris case she received three different factions as possible choices and was told to keep her results a secret because this rarely happened and she would be in danger if the people in power found out. Overall, I feel that it is mainly large scale economic development projects that are not possible without causing some environmental degradation. Construction is one of the main reasons for this, for any development to take place an area must be used efficiently to maximize space for development. A great example of this is the 3 Gorges Dam in China; this cost over $25 billion to build. Yes, it was financially positive, however a lot of land was taken, which led to huge disruptions in local ecosystems. Introduction When an educator walks into her classroom for the first time, she needs to be prepared to encounter students that come from a variety of backgrounds. The children will be in different stages of language development, and the educator must accommodate for each of these students. Magruder, Hayslip, Espinosa, and Matera (2013) state, The US Census Bureau projects that by the 2030s, children whose home language is other than English will increase from roughly 22 percent to 40 percent of the school age population (p. 9). This increase in second language learners will cause the educator to accommodate for those needs. Second language learners need teachers who welcome them and recognize their unique abilities, what they know, and what they need to learn (Magruder, Hayslip, Espinosa, and Matera, 2013, p. 10). The article, Many Languages, One Teacher: Supporting Language and Literacy Development for Preschool Dual Language Learners, explains to educators how to support the language development in young children who are learning English, how to incorporate Personalized Oral Language Learning (POLL) into the classroom, and how to be intentional about supporting the needs of the English language learners. The nature, incidence and ethical issues of creative accounting 1.1 Introduction Creative accounting is also called Earnings management which is known as the manipulation of financial information. The term can be defined in many ways. Initially we define it as a process whereby accountants use their knowledge of accounting rules to manipulate the figures reported in the accounts of a business (Naser, 1993, p.59). Creative accounting, at root, is the origin of numerous accounting frauds. Therefore, managers or directors mean to depict good performance and position by manipulating figures hence in such way the stakeholders will be shown positive indicators from the financial statements. By this way, investors will more likely to be attracted and given confidence with this superb financial report. This can be achieved by modifying the figures in the statements using the tricks of creative accounting. In addition, how many bonuses directors will receive in a year may base on the percentage of the profit reported (Shafren, 2009). For this reason of their private interest, directors may manipulate financial figures to meet their desire. Lttner, Larcker and Rajan (1997) have the same perspective. They illustrate that when the directors or managers private interest (such as stock options and bonuses) is rely on the performance of the company, they are more likely to use creative accounting to manipulate the figures in order to achieve their favourable results. Another motivation of creative accounting is the positive effect that the income smoothing brings to the valuation of security and reduces the risk for the analyst. • 24. Analysis Of Jacob Meeting Esau And The Deaths Of Rachel... Nestled between the heartwarming story of Jacob meeting Esau and the deaths of Rachel and Leah lies the tragedy that is Genesis 33: Dinah and the Shechamites. With rape and sexual assault gaining more awareness around college campuses in the United States, I thought it would be interesting to scrutinize the Biblical scholars perspective on the rape of Dinah. It seems everyone has a strong opinion on how she was treated and how her brothers treated their hosts, but few appear to have an opinion on Dinah herself. This is a result of every source at some point essentially expressing the same sentiment: we can only assume what Dinah thought because she never uttered a word. That said, I will both summarize what each commentary says about Dinah, as well as offer some reflection on the commentary itself. The first commentary I read was certainly the most in depth, technical analysis of Genesis 34. The New Interpreter s Bible (hereby referenced as NIB) paints a compelling picture of the tale. Interestingly, this was one of the worst sources in regards to looking at how Dinah was treated; it focused mainly on the action and reaction relationship between the Hivites and the sons of Jacob. It did note that Dinah is the first daughter of Jacob that receives any sort of recognition, but it also explained that the most important part of the story was Jacob s curse upon the massacre his sins executed (NIB 576). One aspect to note is that this commentary never posed the question of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Neoliberalism believes strongly in having an up to date free market, It focuses on the principle of having a free market with nationalised institutions transforming to become private entities, this leads to most if not all public institutions being sold off to private investors. It also believes in reducing the helping hand of government by cutting public services and removing social initiatives such as unemployment and disability payment. Neoliberalism also believes that to create a truly free market, there must be no regulation of it; this allows the market to generate as much profit as possible. Individual responsibility is a key aspect of neoliberalism, as it ensures that the government can be relinquished of its responsibility to provide for the poorest in society, this forces the poorest to pretty much fight to survive due to no state healthcare, education or social security. Capitalism is one of the most important aspects of neoliberalism, it allows anyone to achieve their goals if they have the determination to follow it through. • 26. The Spiritual Exercises Of Ignatius Loyola I will explore a few of unique approaches as outlined in the Spiritual Exercises of Ignatius Loyola. I will describe my experience of integrating some of the concepts of spiritual direction into my practice. Barry and Connolly in their book The Practice of Spiritual Direction say that, we define Christian spiritual direction as help given by one Christian to another which enables that person to pay attention to God s personal communication to him or her, to respond to this personally communicating God, to grow in intimacy with this God and to live out the consequences of the relationship . Smith says that spiritual direction rests on the assumption that each Christian believer has the capacity for an immediate relationship with Christ. This means that the Christian, in real time, encounters the crucified, risen and ascended Lord . Therefore, my understanding of spiritual direction is that it is an attempt to help Christians to listen to God s voice, to develop intimate prayer life and relationship with God and to grow in response to God. Ignatius Loyola in his Spiritual Exercises promotes our capacity, through our prayers, to hear Christ s voice and to use our senses to feel and experience His presence. Smith says, Spiritual Exercises of Ignatius Loyola is very focus on Jesus or, more specifically, on the Jesus story: his birth, life, death and resurrection. Charlotte Perkins Gilman, the author of The Yellow Wallpaper, created a wallpaper that did just that. The Yellow Wallpaper is a short story about a husband and wife, who go to a summer house for the wife s depression. John, the husband, is a doctor and is responsible for treating his wife. His treatment for her illness is to keep her cooped up in an old nursery room with hideous yellow wallpaper. The wife, who is also the narrator of the story, slowly becomes more and more obsessed with the wallpaper pattern as she is forced to stay in that room. The pattern, the wife believes, is taking the shape of a woman trapped behind the wallpaper.
