The South Puget Sound Salmon Enhancement Group is requesting a $180,000 increase for the Mashel Eatonville Restoration Phase III project to enhance habitat design, address review panel comments, and meet increased construction costs. An additional $110,000 in matching funds is being provided by the Nisqually Indian Tribe. The project, originally set for 2016 construction, has been delayed to finish design work and is now aimed at a 2017 start, with a risk of increased costs if further delayed.
