Camping Trip Persuasive Essay
We are going to have so much fun guys! this was one of many moments when I could confidently
say I don t believe I am my mother s child. She was talking about our upcoming camping trip for
spring break. While my friends went to Florida, South Carolina, and Hawaii, I was stuck driving 12
hours to my parents favorite campingspot in Maine. I can appreciate nature in small doses, yes
butterflies are cute, and waterfalls are beautiful. But I don t do camping. I mean why does
anyone? The bear warnings at the beginning of a camp site should be scary enough. But if that
doesn t do it for you, think of the lack of running water, heat (or AC), and hot meals. Counting that
day, I had a week left before being dragged to the woods.
Naturally, that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I guess you re rooming with us kiddo! his smile was probably the worst part of all this. It s like the
forest was drugs and my dad was a happy addict.
After setting up the tent, our three sleeping bags were laid out. I fought to have the spot beside the
opening for the tent so I could open it if I got hot without stepping over two other bodies.
Now it was dinner time. My dad proudly told the story of his first time camping, and the hunt he
went on for his dinner. Thankfully, we wouldn t have to hunt down our dinner tonight. We had the
slightly better alternative, canned beans. I lost my appetite looking at the slimy concoction, and let
me not even get started on the flavor.
Alright, this day didn t go exactly as planned my mom glanced over to the pathetic pile that should
ve been my tent before continuing but, we are going to have a fun day tomorrow, get some good
sleep carmen
I ve been sitting in this tent for about two hours now. I guess a nice little walk would be the best
way to cure this homesickness of sorts.
Leaving my tent was hard, thankfully my parents sleep like their hibernating. At home I love to
go on walk through the neighborhood. This sure isn t home though, my thin flip flops have a
thick layer of mud caked under them. The twigs and leaves I keep stepping on cause me to jump, I
probably look like a baby deer just learning to walk. Speaking of which, I ve seen barely any
animals

Me Before You By Jojo Moyes Thirteen Reasons Why
Many people in life take each other for granted and sometimes people are completely unaware of
when they are. In Me Before You by Jojo Moyes, a young small town girl needs money to
support her and her family, as soon as she finds a new job at the Traynor s to help a paralyzed
man. She gets to know the family and learns pressures and challenges. In a similar text, Thirteen
Reasons Why by Jay Asher, a teenage girl makes audio tapes about reasons why she committed
suicide. In the book, Me Before You the author teaches the readers that it is okay to fear for
someone when they are hurting, but do not let your fear make them hurt worse. While in the book
Thirteen Reasons Why Asher suggests that getting betrayed is finding the strength inside of you
and using it to get through hard times.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A small town girl comes into their home and wants to support her family but Will and Lou fall in
love as it puts pressures on Lou because she feared Will Traynor would hurt himself in grief. A
previous caregiver disappeared for several hours once to get her car fixed, and Will...injured
himself in her absence (Moyes, 86) Many people in Will s life fear that he will hurt himself
considering he has already tried to commit suicide. This gives his family the only choice to get
him an all day everyday nanny to watch over him, little does Will s parents know it might make
the problem worse. I wished I could go back, back to when my biggest worry was whether Frank
and I had ordered in enough Chelsea buns. (Moyes,131) Lou s life was a lot easier and simpler
back when she didn t work for the Traynor s because she didn t think that soon enough Will
would become someone she is in love with. Moyes included this because she wanted the readers
to know that even all the love and care that Lou was giving Will, it didn t help him to stop taking

Circumstantial Evidence
Physical Evidence is evidence that is seen at the crime scene. They are objects that may contain
vital information that are laying around the area of where the crime is committed. These objects are
sent to research facilities to see if the objects are useful in finding out what really happened during
the crime. If they are useless, then they will not change the thought of those who wish to know the
truth. But if they hold information that will turn the tide of a court case, then they will be used.
Circumstantial evidenceis what most prosecutors use in the court of law. This evidencecomes from
clues found at the scene that have something very defining about them. For example, no two
people have the same fingerprint. So if one is found at the crime scene, then it may lead to
something important. Or maybe not, since it may have been accidental, but you never know.

When they talk about it, they do not mention how it may be false, until the end when they say, And
defense attorneys frequently attack the validity of forensic evidence by pointing to lapses in the
way the evidence was collected or handled. Though, they do mentions that is has flaws. This means
that if the evidence does have some things that don t make sense, then it would be obvious that
they were messed with and then someone could be called out and it may head towards the truth
being revealed. And they mention this at the end of the text, which is suspicious since when
someone sees the bottom of the page, they feel relieved and think that they just want to get through
the rest and may not care as much. They may have done this so many people skip over it and think
that forensic evidence is more

How The Mac Is A Medium Access Control Protocol
Introduction : This paper discusses about the S MAC , which is a Medium Access Control
Protocol used in wireless sensor networks . The protocol proposed in the paper is mainly inspired
by PAMAS . The important goals of this protocol is to conserve energy and configure by itself or
known as scalability . It is entirely different from traditional mac protocols like ieee 802.11. The
protocol uses three primary techniques to support energy conserving and self configuration . they
periodically sleep to minimize energy consumption , then formation of virtual clusters by neighbor
nodes for auto synchronization on sleep times and radios are also set to sleep during transmissions
of other node . Then S mac uses message passing and in channel... Show more content on

2)periodic listen and sleep : in this the listen time is reduced by letting go the node into periodic
sleep .
a)basis scheme : in this node goes to sleep for a specified time and then wakes up to listen if any
node wants to communicate with it . A timer is set during sleep and the radio of the node is also
turned off . A periodic synchronization is between neighbor nodes for their correct clock timings
. Two techniques are used to synchronization one is timestamps exchanged are relative other than
being absolute. Another technique is listen is period is longer than clock error or drift . To
reduce control overhead neighbor nodes should be preferred to synchronize together . to be noted
that all neighboring nodes cant synchronize together . then all nodes broadcast their schedule to
all its immediate neighbors this for ensuring that all neighbor can talk with different schedule
times . If multiple nodes want to talk to a node , this can be done by contention mechanism using
request to send and clear to send packets . here first come first serve basis , node which send first
will grab the medium . here the formation of nodes are done in flat topology .
b)choosing and maintaining schedules : each node maintains its own schedule table where its
neighbor nodes schedule are stored. First node listens for a particular time , if it is not hearing
from another node it randomnly goes to sleep with broadcasting a SYNC message .

Language And Its Impact On Children Development
Originally we think of language as an object, one made of words, sentences and grammar, sounds,
symbols and gestures that a society or community creates to communicate with one another.
However, reflecting on the above statement, language has deeper meaning and can show identity,
expression and cultural backgrounds within a person. It s an expression of who we are as people,
communities and nations. Though there are multiple things that impact the way in which we view,
learn and express language as adults and children. These include the use of language in the social
context it is being used from speaking with different people from professionals to friends, the
different types of English used from Australian Englishto Aboriginal English,... Show more content

As teachers is it pressingly important that they should have a strong knowledge and
understanding of language and how to develop it for their students as language needs to be
developed for themselves but also the knowledge that it can be different for all. There are many
variations of language including the English language and Aboriginal English. Generally
speaking, people might say English is one language and that s all this is but this is incorrect.
There are multiples in which creates the variation in one language from the way it is pronounced
making the sound different to how it can be used and in what context. There are words such as
grouse used mostly in Melbourne as an Aussie slang for good or great that you don t hear often in
Perth or other Australian states. The dialect used in language can be varied but can be understood
by many speakers. The most common dialect is the one that is used by the most powerful people
and dominant people in that society. This is what would be taught in schools, used in the media
and considered the correct English to be spoken and written. Some aboriginal societies that are
very remote and have less of an influence from Australian English speakers is still quite strong
compared to those aboriginals living closer to more developed and structural civilizations. It is
believed that there were over 250 Aboriginal languages in which only about 90 are still spoken
now. (NACLC Org, 2017). For aboriginal people their

Personal Statement For The Support Group
Introduction For the support group that I led we planned on having it be focused around
testimonies. I wanted for us each to be able to get to know one another on a deeper level than we
had, specifically spiritually. I thought that doing five minute testimonies was a good way to be
able to get to know one another better while still not making everyone divulge all of their life to
people they are still getting to know and learning to trust. With the testimonies theme, I wanted my
icebreaker to lead into the importance of listening to our client s stories and using our story as a
platform for Christ. For my ending activity I wanted to lead into next support groups topic which
we had decided would be about our current walk with the Lord.
Group goals
At our first support group we decided that our goals would stay the same each week. Our primary
goal was to practice group facilitation and group participation. Our sub goals were to support one
another and get to know one another. We began our first support group with not really supporting
one another because there was no need for it; however, the second support group we supported
one another as we shared about our families. The third support group also got deeper in supporting
one another as we talked about our high school experiences. The fourth group I felt that we did not
exercise the sub goal to support one another because it was more educational than supportive.
I was nervous going after we talked about stress because it

My Dragon This is the story of Hara and Fehlen. Hara was the controller of Fehlen, Fehlen was a
dragon that could enter the mind and make the person lose their personal morals and make them
disobey authority leaving no regard for the repercussions of what the person is doing and then
once the person would have to deal with the consensus. Fehlen would leave the mind and make
the person be abandon with their guilt thinking they have done wrong when in reality it was not
their fault at all, worst of all no one knew of Fehlen so no one knew of what was going on to them

Main still deals with Fehlen, but more and more, he is getting control over him. Fehlen is
becoming weak and Main is living better but in order to destroy Fehlen he has to really take a
long look at him self and say this will not take over me but for the time being, he is just learning
how to keep it down and at minimum. This story is a huge metaphor for my Dragon, Main is the

2. The structure succeeded in focusing the company on completing tasks
3. It accounted for a greater degree of control
Problems Created or persistent:
1. Confusion in defining the functions How many distinct functions should be created, should
marketing be a part of sales, should there be separate finance, human resource and accounting
teams, etc.
2. Confusion in assigning new management roles Who should head each of the teams, could the
same management personnel handle the responsibilities with the rapid growth of company, etc.
3. Horizontal reporting structure of the functions displeased the Board of Directors. The board
wanted a traditional hierarchical structure.
4. Politics came into existence People became concerned about their titles and desk locations
5. Heads of the teams started creating sub functions within their team Organizational chart grew
vertically and horizontally and managerial roles kept on increasing within sub functions.
6. Teams became polarized The distinction between various departments inhibited working

The Poem Clocks and Lovers by W. H. Auden
The poem Clocks and Lovers by W. H. Auden s contrasts the idea of whether or not love will outlast
time. Initially, the poem portrays a lover affirming the belief that love will triumph over time. The
poem transitions and depicts the clocks argument that due to time, love will eventually fade away.
The narrator contrasts the two arguments with usage of imagery, personification, tone and diction.
The argument that lovewill prevail over time is contrasted by the belief that as time goes by, time
can never be stopped and love will not last. Overall, neither belief is represented as correct
because the narrator contrasts the two opposing arguments by displaying that two arguments are
incompatible. In regards to their following arguments, time is not as malicious or arduous to love
but love is not impervious to time. Beginning early in the poem and used heavily throughout,
imagery and personification are utilized to exemplify the lovers argument. The belief that love is
never ending is created through never ending connotations, I ll love you, dear, I ll love you Till
China and Africa meet, and the river jumps over the mountain and the salmon sing in the street.
The lover uses images of the impossible such as fish singing, the laws of physics breaking, and
distant continents meeting. This strengthens the original belief that love is eternal and superior to
time itself. These tasks are nearly impossible and the idea of love one day ending is equated with
them.

Dazai Osamu By Kafka
As he drops on the ground, he asks himself if the others were able to get away. He s assuming
Touka and the group are safe (which he can t really be sure of, even though he s sorta correct). He

Hide comes in (his mind) to stop him from his tracks. He mentions how suicide by drowning is
famous. As said in the translator notes, it has something to do with one of Kafka s short stories but
actually there s another source that could be referenced. That is the famous Japanese literature
author Dazai Osamu, when he died by drowning himself.

line. And at the bottom there we read A world is destroyed. Which is referring to Demian Hesse

Kaneki fought Nishiki for the first time. It s also the one behind why the this chapter s title is K s
Egg. The K most likely refers to our main protagonist, Kaneki Ken.
While we re at it, there s actually an extensive meaning to it. The full quote reads The bird fights
its way out of the egg. The egg is the world. Who would be born must first destroy a world. The
bird flies to God. That God s name was Abraxas.
Abraxas is designated as the power above all. Pretty much praised as the first ruler. It s also said
that he is both an Egyptian and a demon. I guess that pretty much says a lot already. Also, Abraxas
looks a bit like Kaneki s recent kakuja. A bird like figure.
Almost forgot to mention his hair. It s finally white again! Don t think it really suddenly turned
white since that s impossible to happen in such a short period of time. It s most likely symbolic.

achieve communicative competence through integrated grammar and communication (Ellis, 2006).

Robot Movement Essay
Abstract Navigation movement of the robot is one of the most important parts in an intelligent
robot system. a lot of studies have done on avoiding trajectory, navigation and obstacle in the known
environment, but it is difficult to get, the optimum trajectory in the path in a known environment
this is one of the important parts of the robotic planning.
PRM use to direct the mobile robot to find the target with obstacle avoidance. This paper suggests
trajectory based on a probabilistic Roadmap (PRM) for an autonomous robot trajectory in a known
environment. To simulate and compare the robot motion path with other studies was simulated. The

II.RELATED WORK
PRM are considered as optimization algorithms for search in a space of potential solutions, the
solution to the problem of planning by PRM is proposed for the first time by [5]. Optimal
trajectory is calculated after several of Numnodes. Some papers have focused on known
environments. Path planning is an important subject in navigation of autonomous mobile robots,
which is to find a best path according to some criterion such as distance or time [6].
In this paper, PRM approach to path planning with Obstacle to solve the problem of path planning
for autonomous robots. We have mostly focused on using PRM to calculate optimized trajectory,
we have thus demonstrated their advantages and disadvantages, and for this we made a comparison
with a widely used approach, PRM associated with GA algorithm study for finding optimal paths.

Pros And Cons Of Drug Testing In Schools
Imagine if your child or you walked into school and was randomly tested for drug residue. You or
your child did nothing wrong and they have no evidence that he or she was taking drugs. How
would you feel about that? Would you be alright with that? This is brought up because this topic of
being drug tested in schools randomly is being argued about quite often. Drug testsshould not be
mandatory for students because they violate students rights, are very costly, and are not an
effective way of getting rid of drug use in schools. Firstly, drug tests should not be required for
students because they violate students rights. Drug tests sometimes increase feelings of paranoia
and guilt, which is not right. The athletes have not done anything wrong, yet the school treats
them like they have with these drug tests. A boy was trying out for a sport and in order to be
able to play, he had to take a drug test. His father was very against it, as well as his son. York
considered it a violation of his son s privacy and thought it sent the message that his son was guilty
until proven innocent (McLure). In the American court system we follow the rule of Innocent until
proven guilty . The drug tests are going against the traditional American court system that our
Founding Fathers created in the early years of our country. They fought for our country and some
died. They took the job of setting up guidelines for our government and country, which most likely
was not easy. The most we can

Ptolemy s Life And Accomplishments
Ptolemy was an Egyptian astronomer, mathematician, and geographer of Greek descent who

CE. He was born in Alexandria, Egypt. There aren t many resources that can say or that know a
lot about Ptolemy s personal life. There are no indications that he was married. Ptolemy was
focused more on his career. In several fields, his writings represent the culminating achievement of
Greco Roman science, particularly his geocentric model of the universe. This is now known as the
Ptolemaic system. Virtually nothing is known about Ptolemy s life except what can be inferred
from his writings. His first major astronomical work, the Almagest, was completed about 150...

much mathematics has an impact on my life. I love mathematics. I am not the best at it but it is
one of my favorite subject. Some people don t realize how important mathematics can be in life.
You will need mathematics for a lot of things. When you go to college, a lot of the courses
require mathematics. Yes, it can be hard but it is worth it. Sometimes you have to push through
the hard things and make it through life. Trigonometry developed from a need to compute
angles and distances in such fields as astronomy, mapmaking, surveying, and artillery range
finding. Problems involving angles and distances in one plane are covered in plane trigonometry.
Applications to similar problems in more than one plane of three dimensional space are
considered in spherical trigonometry. Even though Ptolemy didn t have much information about
his family or personal life, there was a lot of information about his career. As you can tell,
Ptolemy was very focused on his work. That isn t a bad thing. He got a lot of things
accomplished. He did a lot more than people who had a lot of family and friends. Ptolemy thought
it was better to focus on his career rather than focus on other things. He put his mind to what he was
doing. I believe that you can do anything that you put your heart, soul, and mind to. Ptolemy

The Holocaust Was The Systematic Killing Of Over 6 Million...
The holocaust was the systematic killing of over 6 million Jews by the Nazis and their partners.
Although many Jews were killed, many were also able to survive the gruesome times ahead of
them, such as the Brichta Family and the Grossman Family.
The Bricta family consisted of Hermann Brichta, Toni Brichta, Franz Brichta, and their close
relative Fritz Wasservogel. Hermann Brichta was born on a farm in 1897 surrounded by
neighboring Czechs. Hermann was an active participant in WWI and was discharged from the
army in 1921. He was aware of his Jewish ancestry, but thought of it as a nationality, not a
religion. Toni Bricta and Fritz Wasservogel were both born on June 26 1892 in Berlin. When
they were the age of 10, their father died so there were sent to separate orphanages, Toni became
the clerk of Berlin branch of the Allianz or at the Victoria of Berlin Life offices, and Fritz joined
the Dresdner Bank straight from orphanage. Franz Brichta, born on January 30th, 1933 was the
only one out of his entire family who was able to survive the holocaust.

The Dimenon Of The Parthenon
The Parthenon The Parthenon in Athens, Greece, is a giant, architectural temple dedicated to the
goddess, Athena. Likewise, the Parthenon in modern Nashville, Tennessee, is an honorary replica
of the ancient monument. Many historians say it is an exact replica. Without a doubt, it is the
closest most people will ever come to experiencing the greatest temple of ancient Greece. A visit to
the Parthenonin Athenswould have been an immense pleasure; however, the replica in Nashville is
adequately breathtaking. The enormous columns, the carvings along the top, the giant statue
within, and the larger than life bronze doors make this monument something to remember. The
Parthenon and its sculptures continue to live on through the replica in Nashville, Tennessee. The
Parthenon is easily mentioned as one of the oldest monuments in the world. Originally, the
Parthenon was completed in 438 B.C. It is strategically placed atop the Acropolis in Athens,
Greece. The Acropolis simply means high city in ancient Greece (Cole, 39). It is higher in
elevation than all the other land below it, and where Greece s most sacred temples were built.
Also, it was built in such a way that when viewed from afar, you can see the entire building. The
purpose of the enormous building was to be a temple dedicated to the goddess, Athena. According
to Karl Cole, the Acropolis in Athens was the battleground of a fight between Athena and Poseidon,
with reward being assuming the role of the protector of Athens

Barn Burning Loyalty Theme
The Theme that is most commonly determined from the story Barn Burning is the loyalty of
Sartoris Snopes to his family/Father or the loyalty to the law. Throughout Barn Burning I read

Within a family there should be loyalty throughout every person. For me it depends on who has
been there for me or I know. Like sarty and his family, they all are assumed to be attached to the

the bond I have will determine how far my loyalty goes for that family member. Being loyal to
family might be everything but like in Barn Burning being loyal to the wrong choices heavily

Overview Of The Baron Armand De Valfort
When I opened the door, in front of me, stood the Baron Armand de Valfort. At least, it was the
name I read on the card he handed me with a prompt gesture, unintended to be aggressive, nor
demeaning. He appeared forthright, knowing what he wanted, and his deportment reflected
authority and confidence. The Baron was a middle aged man, and middle could have applied to
most aspects of his physiognomy. He wore gold rimmed spectacles, anchored on the bridge of
his strong hooked nose, below which, shined fleshy lips. The cut of his elegant clothes showed in

Suburban Sitcoms In The 60 s
Suburban sitcoms coming out in the late 50 s early 60 s portrayed usually an average family
with average problems it solves by the end of the episode, most sitcoms including Leave It To
Beaver followed the same formula; two white parents, a mother, and father, and 2 3 children;
every episode followed the same steps, there s a problem, the problem is solved by the end of
the episode, and a lesson is learned by the main character. This held up perfectly in the 50 s and

Exploring Inferential Statistics and Their Discontents
What are degrees of freedom? The degrees of freedom (df) of an estimate is the number or
function of sample size of information on which the estimate is based and are free to vary relating
to the sample size (Jackson, 2012; Trochim Donnelly, 2008).
How are the calculated? The degrees of freedom for an estimate equals the number of values
minus the number of factors expected en route to the approximation in question. Therefore, the
degrees of freedom of an estimate of variance is equal to N 1, where N is the number of
observations (Jackson, 2012). Given a single set of six numbers (N) the df = 6 1 = 5.

What are your options if your dependent variable scores are not normally distributed?
Transformation of data using a logarithm, square root, reciprocal, or some other function assists in
normalizing the data and correcting for heteroscedasiticy, nonlinearity, and outliers when one or
more variables are not normally distributed (Abrams, 1999; Bland Altman, 1996). The extent of the
deviations from normality determines the specific transformation used. A moderate difference in
normality uses a square root transformation, more substantially non normal uses a log
transformation, and severely non normal would use an inverse transformation (Abrams, 1999). The
aim of data transformation allows for changing the non normal distributed population data into
more useful variable and is not uncommon as the basic statistical summaries such as the sample
mean, variance, z scores, histograms, etc., are all transformed data and require the data follow a
particular distribution (Bland Altman, 1996; Trochim Donnelly, 2008).

What does p = .05 mean?
P = .05, or p value, is a probability measurement that the confidence of the research questions or
null hypothesis is correct and has a less than 5 percent observed outcome on a normal distribution
curve thus having statistically significant. The p value is the prospect that null hypothesis is
actually correct; however, criticisms of various scholars believe in science that nearly everything is

Of Mice And Men Are White
For the most part, the characters in Of Mice and Men are white males, with two very important
exceptions: Curleys wife, who is central to the stores, and the marginalized, stable buck who is
referred to only as Crooks.236 His presence in the novel adds a considerable amount of thematic
power. Chapter 4 is entirely framed around him. Yet this character presents something of a
challenge for African American readers, especially for the younger generation. Not just a literary
question, but rather one of the most important cultural problems facing African Americansociety.
Black Americans have always been acutely sensitive to the fictional portraits of themselves created
by white Americans in the early 20th century, even with those portraits as sympathetic as the one
Steinbeck offers us. All the black Americans, and all people belonging to a racial or ethnic minority
in a predominately white setting, must learn at a very early age to read all manner of phenomenon
from the nuanced and polyvalent standpoint of a bi fold conscience. From this vantage point, one
can see simultaneous night and day Historically, black Americans, Asians, and Hispanics had to
develop this epistemic skill set, requiring a lot of work. It became incumbent upon them to know
the white curriculum and its assumptions as well if not better than white students beside them.237
The universal theme of loneliness and homelessness appears differently in this novel, revealing its
most radical dimensions

Gender Inequality In Sociology And Gender Roles
In Sociology, gender roles are a big part of everyday discussion. With that comes the controversy
with gender inequality. The differences of what it really means to be an equal gender nation has
been around for years, but it has been becoming more and more popular with politics and media
recently. Females are portrayed as inferior to males when they should be treated as equals in today
s society. We have come a long way since the Women s Rights Movement in the 1800s, but there is
still work to be done. To better understand genderinequality, it is important to understand the root
where it came from, specific manifestations dealt with gender inequality, and solutions on how to
make gender inequality a term of the past. Gender inequality is the social process by which
people are treated differently and disadvantageously, under similar circumstances, on the basis of
gender (Gender inequality, 2017). This means that one gender is not being treated equally
compared to another gender and in most cases it is women. The roots of gender inequality are not
from any recent time. In China, they actually are dated back 2,500 years to the Bronze Age
according to a recent study from Queens College in New York City. Studies were done by
scientists who examined Neolithic Age graves from the Chinese Central Plains about 5,000 years
ago. They reported their findings when they examined their bones for signs of stress. Their
examinations concluded that there was a significant change in

The Oppression of More Than 50% of the World s Population There is no doubt that without

men are simply too prideful and aim to oppress anyone they see as weaker than them in any

more specifically in Egypt. In a country with a degraded economy, a skewed view of religion,
and a patrimonial culture, tyranny is magnified. In the creative non fiction, Women at Point Zero,

What Stands Beyond the Triumph of Christianity For several centuries of Roman Empire existence,
it seemed that nothing could stand against its mighty power. No kingdom could match their

the defeat upon Romans. Initially, the new religion appeared to be nothing more than a branch of
Judaism. Jesuswas perceived as a teacher, healer, and a commoner, who ended up being executed

Stable Somalia
Struggles for a Stable Somalia: Are Peacekeepers Necessary? Problem Statement Since its
independence, Somalia has encountered one opposition after another. Boarder disputes, internal
struggles, unstable government, civil war, lawlessness, massive famine, tribal warfare, increased
terrorism, peacekeeping failures, and piracy all have shaped the state of Somalia to become what
it is today. This case study seeks to explore the reasons behind the various failures, struggles, and
difficulties past Somalia has encountered, the challenges present Somalia faces, and the
recommendations a future Somalia can look forward to as a unified nation under a stable and
successful economy. Background of the Topic Somalia was created in 1960 when Italian... Show

However, with the old transitional government replaced with the Federal Government of Somalia,
the outlook of Somalia appears to be more positive. Nevertheless, situations continue to remain
fragile as internal oppositions toward the government increase. More than that, the current
president seeks to neglect internal issues but rather focus his attention on international aid and
humanitarian assistance to unite his broken country. As a result, both economic and physical
security have severely declined in the past one year. The Shabab attacks increased and became
bolder. Mogadishu has witnessed a number of attacks by the terrorist party, al Shabaab, within
the past year. These attacks targeted high profile civilians including a UN compound on 19 June
2013 and a courthouse on 15 April 2014, not to mention raids on a restaurant and against Turkish
aid workers earlier this year as well. Moreover, explosions and violent raids by the terrorist band

(Wells, 2011, p. 241). Bribery can come in many different forms but generally is defined as an act
in which something of value is offered, given, received or solicited with the intent of influencing
an official act. Illegal gratuities can be similar to bribes except these are usually given as a reward.
Economic extortion is basically the demanding of money. A conflict of interest occurs when an
employee, manager, or executive has an undisclosed economic or personal interest in a transaction
that adversely affects the organization. (Wells, 2011, p. 242). These are not all corruption schemes
that exist but have been determined to be more common than others and ones that should definitely
be watched for when completing an audit or a full financial status review.
Recommendation of types of accounting evidence and methods of gathering such evidence to

Health Information Technology ( Hit ) Essay
Executive Summary: Health information technology (HIT) involves trading of health information
in an electronic format to advance health care, reduce health expenditures, improve work
efficiency, decrease medication errors, and make health care more accessible. Maintaining
privacy and security of health information is crucial when technology is involved. Health
information exchange plays an important role in improving the quality and delivery of health
care and cost effectiveness. There is very little electronic information sharing among clinicians,
hospitals, and other providers, despite considerable investments in health information technology
(IT) over the past five years (Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, 2014, p. 1). Per HeathIT.gov
(https://www.healthit.gov/patients families/basics health it), HIT includes the following:
1.Electronic health records (EHRs): Medical records are now kept in an electronic versus a
paper chart. All health information regarding past and current medical history, treatment plans,
and medications are kept in the EHR. The system also allows sharing of medical information
from provider to provider as needed. Many HER systems have a feature to allow patients to log
into a patient portal to review lab results, diagnostic tests, plans of care, and email access to the
provider 2.Personal health records (PHRs). PHRs allow patients to monitor and track of
information from provider visits. PHR can also follow the trajectory of food intake,

Everyday Use And Cathedral Analysis
Sam Thomas 4/17/2018 Copeland The Beauty Within If you were to look upon a mall parking
lot no car, blade of grass, person or piece of clothing would be the same. In society today, those
with deformities or abnormalities will always be looked down by a few people for being
indifferent when they shouldn t. In Everyday Use and Cathedral there are characters with
deformities who struggle to be viewed as equals in all eyes. However, the role of a deformity in
Cathedral is more significant because of the way Carver uses irony and symbolism to illustrate
the way society looks at those with deformities and how an insight into Robert s struggles
changes the narrator s perspective of Robert s and his own life. Carver establishes his use of
symbolism and irony initially when describing the tapes that Robert and the wife would send
each other. For example, he initially asked her to send him a tape and tell him about her life which
continues with many tapes over the years about aspects and struggles of each other s lives (78).
This is consequential because it shows how the tapes, only filled with stories and feelings,
transcended the deformity itself and allowed... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition, the narrator thinks about the different aspects of life Beulah missed out on with
Robert being blind and thinks what a pitiful life this woman must have led not being able to
physically see the person you love every day (79). This is ironic because Robert and Beulah knew
Robert never needed to physically look at his wife to be able to love and connect with her, all he
needed was to be with her because true love exists when people love each other for who they are,
imperfections and all. Carver s use of the narrator s statement immediately allows the reader to
pick up that it is ironic because you truly love someone for who they are as a person not by what

Taking a Look at HIV
Physiological Basis
To be a retrovirus is not the same as a virus. HIV is a retrovirus and it is classified as this because
HIV s genetic information is being enclosed by RNA instead of DNA. HIV targets a specific cell
within the immune system and those are the T cells or also known as CD4+ cells. HIV causes
immune dysfunction by destroying these cells. HIV contains a glycoprotein, called gp120 that is
vital for the virus to enter the T cell. It attaches to the surface, called the CD4+. As it attaches, the
retrovirus membrane fuses to the lymphocyte cell membrane, therefore gaining entry into the cell.
Once an entry is initiated and completed, HIV has the ability to replicate into thousands of copies
of itself by using the host cells resources and the RNA. The RNA, which is two stranded, converts
into DNA through an enzyme titled reverse transcriptase. When the DNA is set within the host s
genome, it allows replication to occur. Furthermore, the new viral copies are made and the host cell
ruptures and dies. As a result, the multiple viruses are released and continue to infect more of the T
cells, weakening the immune system. The normal count of T cells is about 800 1200 cells/mm3.
For a while, T cells can be initially replaced, but HIV infection is a slowly progressive disease
and soon enough the body becomes exhausted, leading to a decline in T cell count. There are
several prevention measures that can be taken in order to avoid getting HIV. Those include

Essay On Cupid
Cupid, being known for love, has greatly influenced today s society even with his questionable
background. In ancient Greece, he originated from Aphrodite. Cupid s other name was Eros. In
Roman times, his name is Cupid and his mother was Venus. His purpose was to to pierce the heart
of his victims and causing them fall deeply in love. The most known stories that he was involved in
was Apollo and Daphneand Cupidand Psyche. Apollo was shot by Cupid and fell in love with
Daphne. Daphne couldn t stand being bombarded by Apollo. The moral of the story is pride in
victory sets one up for defeat; in fact the moral of Cupid and Psyche story is love cannot thrive
where there isn t trust. The resolution to his story is he marries Psyche. Venus supports their
love. For Apollo and Daphne, Daphne is now the reason why we have the Laurel Tree. The
differences between Cupid s original story and most modern story is when the stories were first
created, they had different fact told and included. Now that the story has been passed down in time,
it has been modified to certain likings. An example from the source states, ...Distraught, Psyche

Shattered Glass Character Analysis
As I finish watching the movie, shattered glass, I saw that Stephan glass is a unique person when
it comes to writing. The way that Stephan took the The New Republic and fabricated all those
stories tells you something about his unique personality. Stephan has a way to get the attention of
people through his stories and how he fabricated them to seem like these events had occurred. He
thrives for the attention and is a person in need of gaining trust from these people to be accepted in
that certain environment. Stephan is a person who assumes the identity of the writer he is and
starts to make these certain stories come realistic.
Stephan is a superior writer and is very talented when it comes in the use of imagery, but fails in
hiding specific details in the story. Being a good writer must come with priorities in writing and the
big mistake he did was leave clues behind that lead him to be caught. The idea of him fabricating
several stories shows his is a prolific writer, but this ultimately leads to his downfall, giving way
to the damage of his reputation as a writer. Glass is an exceptional writer and the articles he has

Autochthony In Leif Enger s Peace Like A River
The story of American Literature, much like the journey of the Land family in Leif Enger s novel,
Peace Like a River, is a story of autochthony. But in both cases, that autochthony is permitted by
some stronger force. America has grown to be a uniquely autochthonous nation as a result of the
profound belief of her people in their exceptional nature. Simultaneously, the influence of other
nations and people is the catalyst for growth in America and American Literature throughout history.
The Colonial period of American Literature is laced strongly with religion and the establishment of
a national history. Both the Puritans and the Pilgrims lived their lives passionately devoted to living
out the Bible as they interpreted it, and found their identity deeply rooted in religion. The Puritans
of the Massachusetts Bay Colony, under the guidance of John Winthrop, were to serve as an
example, a city on a hill, and all of civilization was to take note. Throughout Peace Like a River,
Reuben Land looks upon Jeremiah s intense faith with the same reverence that Winthrop intended
the world to look upon his civilization with. Reuben, watching his father pace beyond the bounds of
the truck bed, is astonished when he does not fall, but instead continues walking on the hand of
God (Enger 18). During this moment, Reuben must have felt the same alarm and subsequent
astonishment that those watching Winthrop build his miniature empire felt. Both Winthrop and
Jeremiah Land walked

Inspired By Author, Harriet Beecher, Sarah Orne Jewett...
Sarah Orne Jewett began writing at an early age as she was inspired by, The Pearl of Orr s Island
written by Harriet Beecher Stowe. Jewett began writing in the style of the author of her
inspiration and thus fell in love with the style of writing that encapsulated nearly every author of
her time, local color writing. Local color writing is a style of writing that became popular just after
the Civil War. Many writers began writing with a focus on the way of life and nature in their direct
surrounding areas and regions. As mentioned by The Norton Anthology: American Literature
Volume 2, local color writing embodies the depiction of, ...the topographies, people, speech patterns,
and modes of life of the nation s distinctive regions (412).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Each of these individually would not make up color writing but once they are all pieced together
they create an environment so familiar to Jewett and those who know the coast of Maine well.
Jewett writes the story as if the land is capable of enchantment and the reader gets that feel with
each description of the land. This too is a crucial aspect of local color, specifically when it
comes to satisfying the topography category. While each description of the land may not
entirely be specific to Maine, it is their author that constructs such a combination that the land
comes alive and is a crucial piece of the story just as crucial as the characters themselves. The
characters in A White Heron are not entirely specific to Maine, but their speech patterns as well
as their way of life are for sure. The first example of how the characters add to the local color of
the story is when the ornithologist first meets Sylvia. The stranger first met Sylvia out in nature
while Sylvia was walking with her grandmother s cow. The stranger was not in a place that he
knew well and asked Sylvia about where the road is. Sylvia helped the stranger because he had
lost his way. This is a great example of how A White Heron is local color writing. Sylvia
represents her region of Maine and the stranger is just a representation of people from outside of the
Maine region that Sylvia hails from. Even though Sylvia is much younger and much less
experienced in the wild than the ornithologist,

Analysis Of Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World
Know thy self, know thy enemy. A thousand battles, a thousand victories. Sun Tzu. A quote
meaningless to an essay analyzing Scott Pilgrim VS. The World (Edgar Wright, 2010). This attempt
at humor is like the humor within Scott Pilgrim VS. The World, and despite being used frequently
never truly dulls throughout the films progression. Yet the biggest kicker for the film is the
originality, not settling for typical special effects and soundtracks. Instead leaning in favor to create

usage of unpolished sounding music, intriguing set design choices and unique graphics appearing

We can analyze this from the first few moments of the film listening to the song itself. As we listen
the song, which doesn t appear to have an officially defined name within the band, we hear a song
that is unpolished, rough around the edges, nonsensical lyrics and at parts even sounding as though
the instruments are damaged. It would be wrong of me to not point out the instruments are in fact
damaged, once again another symbol added to this song. This reflects upon Scott Pilgrim by
showing how Scott is, like the song, unpolished, rough, random and rough. It goes further with the
instruments to point out how Scott is also damaged from his past that isn t gone into with much
detail in the film. Further evidence supporting this is the way that this type of music is heard
seemingly only during the more important moments of the film. Starting with the introduction and
completely changing Knives s personality, before played right before a battle, played as part of a
battle and even used to give Scott an edge during the final battle. Using this music at the beginning
though is the most important instance, as it sets up the tone for the rest of the film when it comes

The Bp Oil Spill Crisis
When presented with this project during class, my group and I knew it would be a challenge, but
knew with the right topic we could easily overcome the challenge. We thought long and hard about
what topic we wanted to research. It had to be something that was interesting, impactful and well
known. We thought of controversial topics, headliner news stories, and topics with familiarity. In
the end, we chose to use British Petroleum s (BP) Oil Spillin the Gulf Coast during 2010. The BP
Oil Spill was a crisis and the BP company responded to the event with socially responsible
leadership style. We ultimately chose it because it was interesting. When it came to research,
we all tried to find different articles on our own to get some general knowledge on the spill. On
the first day, we tried to compare our findings to make sure everyone had a basic understanding
of the BP Oil Spill. Then, we all did our research individually. When we met back up we shared
about our findings and shared our resources. Then Matt created a PowerPoint and shared it with
all of us and included all the awesome links that he found. Several of the links he included were
also discovered by other members of the group. He As far as the presentation goes, we divided

Zoos Are A Great Place Of Entertainment
First of all, what are zoos? Many people said that zoos are a great place of entertainment because
they can take their families to see lots of exotic animals that you only get to see in books or on
TV. Other said that zoos could be described as some collections of animals found in nature. Of
course, all these opinions are true because for me going to the zoo has been always a great place
to learn and also have fun in company of my family. In addition, I ve found that all animals in
the zoo have different personality. For instance, the last time I went, and I spent a lot of time
watching the gorillas. I could noticed how all four gorillas that I watched are totally different.
For example, Zuri the silverback gorilla show had been the leader of the group because he was
the largest gorilla and have strong arms that make him to walk upright. However, there have been
both good and bad point or opinions about zoos. In brief, for me zoos have more advantages than
disadvantages because the purposes behind keeping animals in detention are associated with
positive educational needs, research, recreation and conservation. But the question whether animals
should be kept captivated or not will be always in a debate.
First, zoos provide education to society. The role of zoos nowadays places a greater emphasis on
education and conservation than merely recreation. Many school children visit zoos to know more
about endangered species and the different ways to conserve them. The signposts

  • 2. Camping Trip Persuasive Essay We are going to have so much fun guys! this was one of many moments when I could confidently say I don t believe I am my mother s child. She was talking about our upcoming camping trip for spring break. While my friends went to Florida, South Carolina, and Hawaii, I was stuck driving 12 hours to my parents favorite campingspot in Maine. I can appreciate nature in small doses, yes butterflies are cute, and waterfalls are beautiful. But I don t do camping. I mean why does anyone? The bear warnings at the beginning of a camp site should be scary enough. But if that doesn t do it for you, think of the lack of running water, heat (or AC), and hot meals. Counting that day, I had a week left before being dragged to the woods. Naturally, that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I guess you re rooming with us kiddo! his smile was probably the worst part of all this. It s like the forest was drugs and my dad was a happy addict. After setting up the tent, our three sleeping bags were laid out. I fought to have the spot beside the opening for the tent so I could open it if I got hot without stepping over two other bodies. Now it was dinner time. My dad proudly told the story of his first time camping, and the hunt he went on for his dinner. Thankfully, we wouldn t have to hunt down our dinner tonight. We had the slightly better alternative, canned beans. I lost my appetite looking at the slimy concoction, and let me not even get started on the flavor. Alright, this day didn t go exactly as planned my mom glanced over to the pathetic pile that should ve been my tent before continuing but, we are going to have a fun day tomorrow, get some good sleep carmen I ve been sitting in this tent for about two hours now. I guess a nice little walk would be the best way to cure this homesickness of sorts. Leaving my tent was hard, thankfully my parents sleep like their hibernating. At home I love to go on walk through the neighborhood. This sure isn t home though, my thin flip flops have a thick layer of mud caked under them. The twigs and leaves I keep stepping on cause me to jump, I probably look like a baby deer just learning to walk. Speaking of which, I ve seen barely any animals ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Me Before You By Jojo Moyes Thirteen Reasons Why Many people in life take each other for granted and sometimes people are completely unaware of when they are. In Me Before You by Jojo Moyes, a young small town girl needs money to support her and her family, as soon as she finds a new job at the Traynor s to help a paralyzed man. She gets to know the family and learns pressures and challenges. In a similar text, Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher, a teenage girl makes audio tapes about reasons why she committed suicide. In the book, Me Before You the author teaches the readers that it is okay to fear for someone when they are hurting, but do not let your fear make them hurt worse. While in the book Thirteen Reasons Why Asher suggests that getting betrayed is finding the strength inside of you and using it to get through hard times.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This gives his family the only choice to get him an all day everyday nanny to watch over him, little does Will s parents know it might make the problem worse. I wished I could go back, back to when my biggest worry was whether Frank and I had ordered in enough Chelsea buns. (Moyes,131) Lou s life was a lot easier and simpler back when she didn t work for the Traynor s because she didn t think that soon enough Will would become someone she is in love with. • 4. Circumstantial Evidence Physical Evidence is evidence that is seen at the crime scene. They are objects that may contain vital information that are laying around the area of where the crime is committed. These objects are sent to research facilities to see if the objects are useful in finding out what really happened during the crime. If they are useless, then they will not change the thought of those who wish to know the truth. But if they hold information that will turn the tide of a court case, then they will be used. Circumstantial evidenceis what most prosecutors use in the court of law. This evidencecomes from clues found at the scene that have something very defining about them. For example, no two people have the same fingerprint. So if one is found at the crime scene, then it may lead to something important. Or maybe not, since it may have been accidental, but you never know. Testimony is a written sentence or statement that is used to prove a point. If someone is murdered and there is a note next to the body. What the note says may give away who committed homicide or how the letter is written, like how neat the words are,... When they talk about it, they do not mention how it may be false, until the end when they say, And defense attorneys frequently attack the validity of forensic evidence by pointing to lapses in the way the evidence was collected or handled. This means that if the evidence does have some things that don t make sense, then it would be obvious that they were messed with and then someone could be called out and it may head towards the truth being revealed. And they mention this at the end of the text, which is suspicious since when someone sees the bottom of the page, they feel relieved and think that they just want to get through the rest and may not care as much. • 5. How The Mac Is A Medium Access Control Protocol Introduction : This paper discusses about the S MAC , which is a Medium Access Control Protocol used in wireless sensor networks . The protocol proposed in the paper is mainly inspired by PAMAS . The important goals of this protocol is to conserve energy and configure by itself or known as scalability . It is entirely different from traditional mac protocols like ieee 802.11. The protocol uses three primary techniques to support energy conserving and self configuration . they periodically sleep to minimize energy consumption , then formation of virtual clusters by neighbor nodes for auto synchronization on sleep times and radios are also set to sleep during transmissions of other node . Then S mac uses message passing and in channel... A timer is set during sleep and the radio of the node is also turned off . A periodic synchronization is between neighbor nodes for their correct clock timings . Two techniques are used to synchronization one is timestamps exchanged are relative other than being absolute. Another technique is listen is period is longer than clock error or drift . To reduce control overhead neighbor nodes should be preferred to synchronize together . to be noted that all neighboring nodes cant synchronize together . then all nodes broadcast their schedule to all its immediate neighbors this for ensuring that all neighbor can talk with different schedule times . If multiple nodes want to talk to a node , this can be done by contention mechanism using request to send and clear to send packets . here first come first serve basis , node which send first will grab the medium . here the formation of nodes are done in flat topology . b)choosing and maintaining schedules : each node maintains its own schedule table where its neighbor nodes schedule are stored. First node listens for a particular time , if it is not hearing from another node it randomnly goes to sleep with broadcasting a SYNC message . ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Language And Its Impact On Children Development Originally we think of language as an object, one made of words, sentences and grammar, sounds, symbols and gestures that a society or community creates to communicate with one another. However, reflecting on the above statement, language has deeper meaning and can show identity, expression and cultural backgrounds within a person. It s an expression of who we are as people, communities and nations. Though there are multiple things that impact the way in which we view, learn and express language as adults and children. These include the use of language in the social context it is being used from speaking with different people from professionals to friends, the different types of English used from Australian Englishto Aboriginal English,... As teachers is it pressingly important that they should have a strong knowledge and understanding of language and how to develop it for their students as language needs to be developed for themselves but also the knowledge that it can be different for all. There are multiples in which creates the variation in one language from the way it is pronounced making the sound different to how it can be used and in what context. There are words such as grouse used mostly in Melbourne as an Aussie slang for good or great that you don t hear often in Perth or other Australian states. The dialect used in language can be varied but can be understood by many speakers. The most common dialect is the one that is used by the most powerful people and dominant people in that society. This is what would be taught in schools, used in the media and considered the correct English to be spoken and written. Some aboriginal societies that are very remote and have less of an influence from Australian English speakers is still quite strong compared to those aboriginals living closer to more developed and structural civilizations. It is believed that there were over 250 Aboriginal languages in which only about 90 are still spoken now. (NACLC Org, 2017). For aboriginal people their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Personal Statement For The Support Group Introduction For the support group that I led we planned on having it be focused around testimonies. I wanted for us each to be able to get to know one another on a deeper level than we had, specifically spiritually. I thought that doing five minute testimonies was a good way to be able to get to know one another better while still not making everyone divulge all of their life to people they are still getting to know and learning to trust. With the testimonies theme, I wanted my icebreaker to lead into the importance of listening to our client s stories and using our story as a platform for Christ. For my ending activity I wanted to lead into next support groups topic which we had decided would be about our current walk with the Lord. Group goals At our first support group we decided that our goals would stay the same each week. Our primary goal was to practice group facilitation and group participation. Our sub goals were to support one another and get to know one another. We began our first support group with not really supporting one another because there was no need for it; however, the second support group we supported one another as we shared about our families. The third support group also got deeper in supporting one another as we talked about our high school experiences. The fourth group I felt that we did not exercise the sub goal to support one another because it was more educational than supportive. I was nervous going after we talked about stress because it ... • 10. The Poem Clocks and Lovers by W. H. Auden The poem Clocks and Lovers by W. H. Auden s contrasts the idea of whether or not love will outlast time. Initially, the poem portrays a lover affirming the belief that love will triumph over time. The poem transitions and depicts the clocks argument that due to time, love will eventually fade away. The narrator contrasts the two arguments with usage of imagery, personification, tone and diction. The argument that lovewill prevail over time is contrasted by the belief that as time goes by, time can never be stopped and love will not last. Overall, neither belief is represented as correct because the narrator contrasts the two opposing arguments by displaying that two arguments are incompatible. In regards to their following arguments, time is not as malicious or arduous to love but love is not impervious to time. Beginning early in the poem and used heavily throughout, imagery and personification are utilized to exemplify the lovers argument. The belief that love is never ending is created through never ending connotations, I ll love you, dear, I ll love you Till China and Africa meet, and the river jumps over the mountain and the salmon sing in the street. The lover uses images of the impossible such as fish singing, the laws of physics breaking, and distant continents meeting. This strengthens the original belief that love is eternal and superior to time itself. These tasks are nearly impossible and the idea of love one day ending is equated with them. ... The degrees of freedom (df) of an estimate is the number or function of sample size of information on which the estimate is based and are free to vary relating to the sample size (Jackson, 2012; Trochim Donnelly, 2008). How are the calculated? The degrees of freedom for an estimate equals the number of values minus the number of factors expected en route to the approximation in question. Therefore, the degrees of freedom of an estimate of variance is equal to N 1, where N is the number of observations (Jackson, 2012). Given a single set of six numbers (N) the df = 6 1 = 5. What are your options if your dependent variable scores are not normally distributed? Transformation of data using a logarithm, square root, reciprocal, or some other function assists in normalizing the data and correcting for heteroscedasiticy, nonlinearity, and outliers when one or more variables are not normally distributed (Abrams, 1999; Bland Altman, 1996). The extent of the deviations from normality determines the specific transformation used. A moderate difference in normality uses a square root transformation, more substantially non normal uses a log transformation, and severely non normal would use an inverse transformation (Abrams, 1999). The aim of data transformation allows for changing the non normal distributed population data into more useful variable and is not uncommon as the basic statistical summaries such as the sample mean, variance, z scores, histograms, etc., are all transformed data and require the data follow a particular distribution (Bland Altman, 1996; Trochim Donnelly, 2008). Gender inequality is the social process by which people are treated differently and disadvantageously, under similar circumstances, on the basis of gender (Gender inequality, 2017). This means that one gender is not being treated equally compared to another gender and in most cases it is women. The roots of gender inequality are not from any recent time. In China, they actually are dated back 2,500 years to the Bronze Age according to a recent study from Queens College in New York City. Studies were done by scientists who examined Neolithic Age graves from the Chinese Central Plains about 5,000 years ago. They reported their findings when they examined their bones for signs of stress. Their examinations concluded that there was a significant change in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Health information exchange plays an important role in improving the quality and delivery of health care and cost effectiveness. There is very little electronic information sharing among clinicians, hospitals, and other providers, despite considerable investments in health information technology (IT) over the past five years (Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, 2014, p. 1). In Everyday Use and Cathedral there are characters with deformities who struggle to be viewed as equals in all eyes. However, the role of a deformity in Cathedral is more significant because of the way Carver uses irony and symbolism to illustrate the way society looks at those with deformities and how an insight into Robert s struggles changes the narrator s perspective of Robert s and his own life. Carver establishes his use of symbolism and irony initially when describing the tapes that Robert and the wife would send each other. For example, he initially asked her to send him a tape and tell him about her life which continues with many tapes over the years about aspects and struggles of each other s lives (78). • 42. Taking a Look at HIV Physiological Basis To be a retrovirus is not the same as a virus. HIV is a retrovirus and it is classified as this because HIV s genetic information is being enclosed by RNA instead of DNA. HIV targets a specific cell within the immune system and those are the T cells or also known as CD4+ cells. HIV causes immune dysfunction by destroying these cells. HIV contains a glycoprotein, called gp120 that is vital for the virus to enter the T cell. It attaches to the surface, called the CD4+. As it attaches, the retrovirus membrane fuses to the lymphocyte cell membrane, therefore gaining entry into the cell. Once an entry is initiated and completed, HIV has the ability to replicate into thousands of copies of itself by using the host cells resources and the RNA. The RNA, which is two stranded, converts into DNA through an enzyme titled reverse transcriptase. When the DNA is set within the host s genome, it allows replication to occur. Furthermore, the new viral copies are made and the host cell ruptures and dies. As a result, the multiple viruses are released and continue to infect more of the T cells, weakening the immune system. The normal count of T cells is about 800 1200 cells/mm3. For a while, T cells can be initially replaced, but HIV infection is a slowly progressive disease and soon enough the body becomes exhausted, leading to a decline in T cell count. There are several prevention measures that can be taken in order to avoid getting HIV. Those include ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

But in both cases, that autochthony is permitted by some stronger force. America has grown to be a uniquely autochthonous nation as a result of the profound belief of her people in their exceptional nature. Simultaneously, the influence of other nations and people is the catalyst for growth in America and American Literature throughout history. The Colonial period of American Literature is laced strongly with religion and the establishment of a national history. Both the Puritans and the Pilgrims lived their lives passionately devoted to living out the Bible as they interpreted it, and found their identity deeply rooted in religion. The Puritans of the Massachusetts Bay Colony, under the guidance of John Winthrop, were to serve as an example, a city on a hill, and all of civilization was to take note. Many writers began writing with a focus on the way of life and nature in their direct surrounding areas and regions. As mentioned by The Norton Anthology: American Literature Volume 2, local color writing embodies the depiction of, ...the topographies, people, speech patterns, and modes of life of the nation s distinctive regions (412).... Each of these individually would not make up color writing but once they are all pieced together they create an environment so familiar to Jewett and those who know the coast of Maine well. Jewett writes the story as if the land is capable of enchantment and the reader gets that feel with each description of the land. This too is a crucial aspect of local color, specifically when it comes to satisfying the topography category. While each description of the land may not entirely be specific to Maine, it is their author that constructs such a combination that the land comes alive and is a crucial piece of the story just as crucial as the characters themselves. The characters in A White Heron are not entirely specific to Maine, but their speech patterns as well as their way of life are for sure. The first example of how the characters add to the local color of the story is when the ornithologist first meets Sylvia. The stranger first met Sylvia out in nature while Sylvia was walking with her grandmother s cow. The stranger was not in a place that he knew well and asked Sylvia about where the road is. Sylvia helped the stranger because he had lost his way. This is a great example of how A White Heron is local color writing. Sylvia represents her region of Maine and the stranger is just a representation of people from outside of the Maine region that Sylvia hails from. Even though Sylvia is much younger and much less experienced in the wild than the ornithologist, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 51. Analysis Of Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World Know thy self, know thy enemy. A thousand battles, a thousand victories. Sun Tzu. A quote meaningless to an essay analyzing Scott Pilgrim VS. The World (Edgar Wright, 2010). This attempt at humor is like the humor within Scott Pilgrim VS. The World, and despite being used frequently never truly dulls throughout the films progression. Yet the biggest kicker for the film is the originality, not settling for typical special effects and soundtracks. Instead leaning in favor to create an exceedingly creative film that entertains its audience from start to finish. Doing so by creative usage of unpolished sounding music, intriguing set design choices and unique graphics appearing randomly throughout the film. Working together to create an... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We can analyze this from the first few moments of the film listening to the song itself. As we listen the song, which doesn t appear to have an officially defined name within the band, we hear a song that is unpolished, rough around the edges, nonsensical lyrics and at parts even sounding as though the instruments are damaged. It would be wrong of me to not point out the instruments are in fact damaged, once again another symbol added to this song. This reflects upon Scott Pilgrim by showing how Scott is, like the song, unpolished, rough, random and rough. It goes further with the instruments to point out how Scott is also damaged from his past that isn t gone into with much detail in the film. Further evidence supporting this is the way that this type of music is heard seemingly only during the more important moments of the film. Starting with the introduction and completely changing Knives s personality, before played right before a battle, played as part of a battle and even used to give Scott an edge during the final battle. Using this music at the beginning though is the most important instance, as it sets up the tone for the rest of the film when it comes to it s musical score. The realistic parts of Scott Pilgrim VS. The Worldexceedingly dull in the introductory scenes. The colours used within the design of the sets are dull, and all the costumes appear ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 52. The Bp Oil Spill Crisis When presented with this project during class, my group and I knew it would be a challenge, but knew with the right topic we could easily overcome the challenge. We thought long and hard about what topic we wanted to research. It had to be something that was interesting, impactful and well known. We thought of controversial topics, headliner news stories, and topics with familiarity. In the end, we chose to use British Petroleum s (BP) Oil Spillin the Gulf Coast during 2010. The BP Oil Spill was a crisis and the BP company responded to the event with socially responsible leadership style. We ultimately chose it because it was interesting. When it came to research, we all tried to find different articles on our own to get some general knowledge on the spill. On the first day, we tried to compare our findings to make sure everyone had a basic understanding of the BP Oil Spill. Then, we all did our research individually. When we met back up we shared about our findings and shared our resources. Then Matt created a PowerPoint and shared it with all of us and included all the awesome links that he found. Several of the links he included were also discovered by other members of the group. He As far as the presentation goes, we divided up the different requirements equally and agreed that we could work on it at our own pace, since we all have access to it. We also created a group message so we could communicate with each other. If we had a question about something we just sent ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 53. Zoos Are A Great Place Of Entertainment First of all, what are zoos? Many people said that zoos are a great place of entertainment because they can take their families to see lots of exotic animals that you only get to see in books or on TV. Other said that zoos could be described as some collections of animals found in nature. Of course, all these opinions are true because for me going to the zoo has been always a great place to learn and also have fun in company of my family. In addition, I ve found that all animals in the zoo have different personality. For instance, the last time I went, and I spent a lot of time watching the gorillas. I could noticed how all four gorillas that I watched are totally different. For example, Zuri the silverback gorilla show had been the leader of the group because he was the largest gorilla and have strong arms that make him to walk upright. However, there have been both good and bad point or opinions about zoos. In brief, for me zoos have more advantages than disadvantages because the purposes behind keeping animals in detention are associated with positive educational needs, research, recreation and conservation. But the question whether animals should be kept captivated or not will be always in a debate. First, zoos provide education to society. The role of zoos nowadays places a greater emphasis on education and conservation than merely recreation. Many school children visit zoos to know more about endangered species and the different ways to conserve them. The signposts ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
