A leader must be positive, have a servant's heart, follow–through, exhibit growth potential, by loyal,
be resiliency, have integrity, see the big picture, be disciplined, and express gratitude (Maxwell,
1995). A leader realizes that he cannot win an argument (Carnegie, 1936). A leader must speak in
terms of the follower's interest and sincerely make him an integral contributor to the organization
(Carnegie, 1936). There must be a willingness to understand others and an appreciation for
differences in an organization (Maxwell, 2003b). I see myself as being likeable and agreeable. I try
to get along with others, just as I try to build relationships with others. I am strongest in matters of
values, character, and ethics. I think as an introvert about matters that will affect other people. I take
pride in other people and see myself as being on this earth to serve other people. We do not get there
alone. I tend to be motivated by challenging opportunities. Sometimes I want to do too much, like
when I enroll in multiple degree programs. In some organizational settings I am motivated by a
fight. I seem attracted to fights to defend my personnel, my organization, or to uphold the law. I am
motivated internally or intrinsically to make a difference. I strive to help people, stop Hall, p. 4

The Effects Of Standardized Cognitive Tests On Student...
There is an exorbitant amount of focus on standardized cognitive tests in K–12 education today –
particularly measures of intelligence and achievement. The usefulness of these tests
notwithstanding, they are limited in that they provide an incomplete picture of a student's abilities
and needs. Having worked 14 years as an English teacher at Bergen County Technical School of
Paramus (Bergen Tech), a vocational–technical high school with a predominantly special needs
population, I find it unfortunate that the educational psychologists with whom I work have in recent
years been directed to focus on cognitive tests such as the Woodcock–Johnson Test of Achievement
and the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale, to the exclusion of non–cognitive measures that could
provide insight into student emotional health and personality. For school staff endeavoring to help
students negotiate the path to adulthood and guide them toward brighter more fulfilling futures,
personality assessment could be used to help clarify needs, determine the severity of problems,
make predictions about future behaviors, and aid in educational recommendations.
It is necessary to highlight some of the complications unique to Bergen Tech Paramus and other vo–
tech schools so as to fully appreciate the potential benefit of reintroduction of regular personality
testing. Unlike the trade schools prevalent in Western Europe, which are regarded as normal and
respectable paths to gainful employment, vo–tech schools in the

popular brands include MAC, Maybelline, Revlon, and Sephora. Even though cosmetic brands all

From 1978 to 1983 earnings grew 40% annually, market share climbed to 12.5%, and the number of

The Success Of The Ski Barn
In a perfect world, retailers would have plenty of loyal customers year after year to keep them in
business. However, this is not the case anymore, and keeping a customer loyal to your business is
harder than it seems. Customers are more demanding when it comes to pricing and convenience
today. If someone walks into a store looking to find something, and the business is out of stock, or
they are unhappy with the price, they will go looking somewhere else, or worse turn to the internet.
Family owned businesses are having an even harder time competing with big corporations. Often
times a family business will open up and seem to be doing fine, until a bigger more well known
company opens up just down the road. Most of the time the smaller companies are forced to close
down. This is because they cannot compete with some of the discounts that are so easily handed out
by the competition. Ski Barn is a family owned business, located in four locations within New
Jersey: Paramus (Headquarters), Wayne, Lawrenceville, and Shewsberry. They sell ski and
snowboard equipment, and offer multiple shop services in the winter, and patio furniture in the
summer. They have to compete with big name companies like Dick's Sporting Goods, Modell's
Sporting Goods, Zumies, and of course discount internet sites like Back Country, The House, and
amazon.com during the winter. Throughout this paper, I will discuss the ways in which Ski Barn
Incorporated must compete on analytics in order to survive in

Cecally-Cannulated Horses Case Study
Four cecally–cannulated horses were utilized in a 4 x 4 Latin square to evaluate dosage levels of
95% liposomal–curcumin (LIPC) on the same opportunistic bacteria in experiment 1 and to evaluate
cecal characteristics. Horses were randomly assigned to one of four treatments: 1) no LIPC, (CON);
2) 15 g of 500 mg/g of LIPC, recommended level (REC); 3) 25 g of 500 mg/g of LIPC (1.66 x R);
or 4) 35 g of 500 mg/g of LIPC (2.30 x R). Horses were fed 2–3 lbs of Strategy® (Purina Mills, St.
Louis, MO) to maintain a BCS of a 5–6 at 0600 and treatments were top dressed at time of feeding.

The recommended dose, REC treatment, significantly decreased (P < 0.0001) SBEC concentrations
compared to increasing doses. E. coli K–12 concentrations were decreased (P = 0.01) with REC and
1.33xR treatments compared to 1.66xR and 2xR treatments (Table 3). Concentrations of E. coli
general were significantly less (P = 0.032) in REC, 1.33xR and 2xR compared to the 1.66xR
treatment. Numerically, 2xR had the lowest concentration of C. difficile, and 1.66xR had the lowest
concentration of C. perfringens out of the four treatments. Previous work with human subjects
showed E. coli and substrain K–12 possess curcumin–converting activity, which is responsible for
curcumin transformation and slowing down the degradation and metabolic process of curcumin
(Hassaninasab et al., 2011). Thus, increasing the dosage of 95% liposomal–curcumin may have
increased the growth activity of E. coli general and K–12 due to curcumin being broken down in the
cecum. This can have a direct effect on these strains (Hassaninasab et al., 2011). In addition, this
may be the reason for concentration responses. Based on the results from the two batch cultures, the
authors decided to investigate 15 g, 25 g, and 35 g of 500 mg/g of 95% liposomal–curcumin for the

Self Care Deficit Theory
Analysis and Application of Dorothea Orem's Self–Care Practice Model
Elaine Gilligan Whelan, RNC, MA, MSN
ABSTRACT
Curriculum design in nursing education has become an increasingly sophisticated process
throughout the past decade. "Theories" of nursing have emerged, and have become the basis for
various curricula models. One model which is relevant to nursing education, practice and research,
is that of Dorothea Orem. Nurse educators are constantly bombarded with material regardmg
various nursing "theories." Each nurse educator would benefit by having some familiarity with the
models of the major theorists of our day. Dorothea Orem s theory is the basis for numerous curricula

Regarding potentiality as a system component, one could say that, according to Orem, man has the
potential to develop the skills and motivation necessary for selfcare and care of dependent family
members (Orem, 1980. pp. 35–116).
Evaluation of the Model
General Criteria: Self–care theory is abstract to the degree that it is applicable to persons of all ages
regardless of degree of wellness. An aspect of self–care is considered to be "dependent care" which
expands the degree of application ofthe model. The concepts in the theory of self–care are
delineated in terms of sub–components and recognizable attributes. The definitions ofthe major
constructs and their interrelationships enable one to explain, within the boundaries of the model, the
relationship between the patient's self–care abilities and level of wellness, the relationship between
diminished self–care abilities and the need for nursing support and the relationships among nursing
agency, patient agency, therapeutic self–care demands and maximizing self–care abilities. Probably,
one of the attractions Orem's theory has for many nurses is its utility in practice. This is highly

My Education Is Important And Important Aspects Of Education
My education remains important to me because it the key component of my successful future as an
individual. The experiences I have been through, from elementary school to high school, have
opened my eyes to the different types of education different schools have to offer. The schools that I
have been to have required me to go through change that takes time. I have always been considerate
of class because the schools that I have been to include students from all social classes. I keep this in
mind when I try to connect with other students. I try to make myself more approachable and
productive with them, because there are certain conflicts that may make it difficult to successfully
communicate with them. This has also interfered with my actual education as well, because I need
to be considerate of my teachers as well. Class within education brings in many factors that put us
within a group of individuals that may have a different experience with education compared to other
of different classes. I attended Paramus Catholic high school, and the change from elementary
school was very dramatic. This high school had about 1500 students when I joined, so making new
friends was quite difficult. I was told that everyone at my school was friendly, but I didn't believe it.
I saw students from all different towns and all different social classes. I needed to make friends who
I could relate to, because there were simply too many students in my school to become companions
with. My first approach was to find other students of the same race as me, Filipino. The first two
friends I made in high school were both Filipino, and it was easy to converse with them. After
talking to them for a few days, I learned that one of them was in the working class, and the other
was very wealthy. I assumed that becoming friends with them was only easy because we could
connect through our backgrounds, and the idea of class division still frightened me. Afraid of
making new friends, I took on the challenges of high school on my own, with no help from any of
my classmates. I felt that I could be independent, especially after my parents told me to put school
before friends. As a result, I stayed up late at night trying to learn all the material

UPS's transformation to the future is successful because of its competence to give customers quality
service while continuing to service as many clients that want to be serviced. This device has proven
to be a success for UPS because customers are able to get real–time information on delivery status
and great reliability as a result of the back–up system. In 1998, UPS changed its "purpose" in the
company charter to, "We enable global commerce (mobileinfo, 1999)." Therefore, UPS technology
upgrade was a benefit for the company to give it a competitive edge. Through the upgrade UPS was
able to accommodate the volume of customers and their demand for delivered packages. UPS
accessed the Industry, recognized the need for change, and responded with a device that met their
technological needs. Although UPS might have faced some challenges with the implementation of
the device; however, they prevailed and is still one of Americas top choice delivery company. If

The cases describe the growth of Toys "R" Us (TRU) as the leading U.S. toy retailer to its
international expansion and entry into Japan. Access to the Japanese market was made possible by
adjustments to the Daitenho or "Big Store Law," described in Toys "R" Us Japan (A). Toys

Baczko perceived that there were increasing global opportunities in the toy business. In an article in
1986 for the industry trade magazine, Playthings, he noted that customers overseas had higher
disposable income, were more educated, and had more free time. Moreover, these buyers were more
price conscious and tended to prefer specialty retailers, factors that favored the international
expansion of TRU.4
The first international store opened in 1984 in Canada. In 1986, TRU struck joint venture deals in
Singapore and Hong Kong. The company next expanded to the United Kingdom in
1987, into Germany in 1988, and into France and Taiwan in 1989. By 1994, TRU had penetrated the

Is Higher Education Worth the Cost? Essay example

Final research "Is Higher Education worth the Cost?"
Americans today tend to believe that college education is not an option but more so a necessity.
"Why are so many parents trying to encourage their kids to attend college"? Is it because they are
trying to control their lives? Or maybe it's because they are just awful parents? I say that it's
completely the opposite of that. Parents just want what's best for their kids; they don't want them to
have to fight the struggle of the daily grind. Nobody wants that life! Although a college education
could be costly, it is worth the cost because it can help young African American males find ... Show

Another reason why I believe higher education is worth the price is because it can be very beneficial
to your child's life as well as yours. For instance, a report published by the Carnegie foundation,
non– monetary individuals benefits of higher education include the tendency for post–secondary
students to become more open minded, more cultured, more rational, consistent and less
authoritarian; those benefits are passed along to succeeding generations(the value of a college
degree(6). Research has also consistently shown a positive correlation between completion of higher
education and good health, not only for one self but for one child. Here Carnegie foundation is
making a point to say that students with a higher education seems to think more clearly and have a
brighter mind set(7), with this being said, the children of these students will be instilled with the
same benefits. Most graduates/non graduates would certainly take issue with the argument that
higher education is not worth the cost. For example, Alex Sousina age 18 is looking for money
making venture possibly in real estate, but works at a pizza place in Ohio delivering pizzas. He has
no plans for college. He states "at the end of four years, I don't want to owe an institution upwards
of 50,000 dollars and not have a guaranteed job."(Young

person in this industry. What influence me was that I have seen him on television since I was eight
years old. I remember waking up on Saturday mornings a watching grill it on bobby flay show.
Also, I remember every time I saw him on food networks iron chef America every afternoon on
Thursdays waiting for that show to come on. Even to the day he has like three different shows. The
most recent one is when he goes head to head against anyone who steps in his kitchen. He even
always finds a way to win in his show. That is what made me want to cook because I want to
succeed like him. That is why I started cooking since a was ten and still cook almost every day to

The Importance Of Intelligence Fusion Centers
had been previously arrested for domestic violence with his ex–girlfriend. Had the FBI informed
local LEAs about his link to terrorism, the police would've been able to interview his former
girlfriend and found out about his jihadist rants. Such misguided decisions by a federal agency pose
a danger to communities. Local LEAs are familiar with a potential terrorist's environment and could
have additional information which may piece the puzzle together. While the FBI stated that
information on Tamerlane could've been accessed by any member of the JTTF (which included
Boston police) through a database, the numerous amount of information records on the database

Thus, it is easier to let local LEAs focus on the lone wolf threat with no intrusions from other levels

The Counter–Lone Wolf Terrorist Strategy
There are strains of criticism for local LEAs to be more involved in surveilling their communities.
Consequences of giving local LEAs more power will lead to issues such as creating an environment
of a police state, privacy issues, and more policing in marginalized areas of a community. It affirms
the inherent tradeoffs within homeland security– giving up more privacy and freedom for a safer
environment. However, there are certain methods that may lessen the burden infringed upon the
law–abiding citizenry. This is important because there is a big difference in having intentions to
commit an attack or just expressing radical beliefs. If an individual were to exercise his freedom of
speech by reading or describing radical thoughts online, it does not mean he/she intends to carry out
a violent attack. The difficulty of separating the two cases is a common problem for the intelligence
community and LEAs in identifying lone wolf terrorists.

My Passion For Law
Ever since I can remember I've had a passion for law. I would sit in front of the television for hours
watching reruns of any show that had to do with that aspect. I would take out my notebook as if it
were a class and write any single detail to study. One of the professions that really stood out to me
was the lawyers. The thought of being able to help someone while also punishing those who broke
the law was fulfilling to me.
To become a lawyer it requires attending college. A bachelor degree is needed and takes about four
years to obtain. Next, is taking the LSAT also known as the Law School Admission Test. After doing
so you must proceed to attend law school. A minimum of three is required to earn your Juris Doctor
degree. Finally, it is essential to take the state bar exam in order to legally practice law. However,
when taking the exam and passing only means you can practice law according to the state you took
the test in. An outstanding college to attend when wanting to become a lawyer is Yale which was
ranked the number one law school in the United States. Harvard and Stanford were also highly
ranked and recommended schools. Yet in New Jersey, Rutgers and Seton Hall take the title. One
skill that would need is to collaborate with others as a team to in the end be successful. Another skill
is time management, we need to prepare and be ready for a given date. Next, is taking into account

Shopping mall
A shopping mall, shopping centre, shopping arcade, shopping precinct or simply mall is one or more
buildings forming a complex of shops representing merchandisers, with interconnecting walkways
enabling visitors to easily walk from unit to unit, along with a parking area – a modern, indoor
version of the traditional marketplace.
Modern "car–friendly" strip malls developed from the 1920s, and shopping malls corresponded with
the rise of suburban living in many parts of the Western World, especially the United States,
afterWorld War II. From early on, the design tended to be inward–facing, with malls following

History
Numerous covered shopping arcades, such as the 19th–century Al–Hamidiyah Souq in
Damascus,Syria, can be considered precursors to the present–day shopping mall.[4] Isfahan's Grand
Bazaar, which is largely covered, dates from the 10th century. The 10 kilometer long covered
Tehran's Grand Bazaar also has a long history. The Grand Bazaar of Istanbul was built in the 15th
century and is still one of the largest covered markets in the world, with more than 58 streets and
4,000 shops.
Gostiny Dvor in St. Petersburg, which opened in 1785, may be regarded as one of the first
purposely–built mall–type shopping complexes, as it consisted of more than 100 shops covering an
area of over 53,000 m2 (570,000 sq ft).
The Oxford Covered Market in Oxford, England opened in 1774 and still runs today.
The Burlington Arcade in London was opened in 1819. The Arcade in Providence, Rhode Island
introduced the retail arcade concept to the United States in 1828. This was a forerunner of today's
shopping mall [5] The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan, Italy followed in the 1870s and is
closer to large modern malls in spaciousness. Other

The Physics of Volleyball Essay
The Physics of o Volleyball
From six thirty one morning to three O' clock the next morning was my longest volleyball day ever.
Fourteen and a half hours of play with only 3 breaks for food, makes for an exhausting event. So
what makes volleyball worth such a sacrifice? It is the endless possibilities and outcomes that can
occur by playing this magnificent sport and challenging the basic laws of physics. In the sport of
volleyball the same thing never happens twice. Things may seem similar but there are always slight
differences. The differences are caused by trying to manipulate those ever so important laws of
physics.

This force is gravity.
Without gravity the ball would never come down. It would continue in the same direction in which
the force was implied. Projectile motion involves gravity. Gravity is what makes the ball return to
the ground.
When gravity does its thing players are able to contact the ball for the second and third times and so
forth.
The direction of the ball is very important important. At every point in the game a player wants the
ball to go in a specific direction with a precise angle. Depending on how one contacts the ball a
player can make the volleyball change direction in mid air. The most common way for this to occur
is using specific techniques when contacting the ball on a serve. One particular serve that forces the
ball to change it's direct in mid air is a floater. If a player hits the ball strait on and there is little or
no spin on the ball, it will go forward and the air resistance will cause it to suddenly move to one
side or the other or back and forth(P.11). Coach Debbie Farnsworth says, " A floating serve is a
wonderful weapon! It is very hard to judge where a floater will end up."
There are many effective serves and one of the other most affective serves besides the floating serve
is the jump serve. When serving, the server wants to hit the ball as hard as possible with a small arc,

inability to hiring to replace the position. However, the largest risk that occurred in the loss in
confidence of the quality of food due to other retailers now offering organic options at a cheaper
price, thus adding to their competition.
Based off the balance sheet, I would say WFM is profitable based on the number of sales. For a
company like Amazon to acquire WFM when it did was a very strategic move especially since the
company proves the products and production of the store is not the issue, it is the management of
debt and the excessive expansions in hope to generate excessive wealth in a short span of time.
After conducting a detail research on WFM I concluded if Amazon did not acquire WFM when it
did, the company could potentially fold. Moreover, my suggestions solely looking at numbers, I
would suggest decreasing the amount of store opening and refocus on rebuilding the brand's name.

The advantages of debt financing are that: bond investors are generally willing to accept a lower rate
of return as compared to equity investors, the debt interest is tax deductible, and bond investors do
not have voting rights on company issues. (Anthony 243) General Motors' times interest earned
ratio has generally stayed on course except for 1998. This shows that GM needs strong sales
volumes to pay its on its liabilities due to the low profit margin. If a long–term decline in worldwide
auto sales occurs, GM may have difficulty paying on its debt.
In February 1998, GM announced a four billion dollar stock buyback program to decrease the
number of outstanding shares and lower the amount of dividend payments. This corporate action
was completed in December 1999 and they used over 2.6 billion dollars in cash to finalize the
program in 1999.(GM 1999 77) This action shows that GM is committed to primarily issuing new
debt to finance any capital needs. The one benefit of this action is the amount of dividends that GM
will have to pay out to the current shareholders. In 1998, GM had to pay out 47% of its earnings to
keep its fixed dividend policy of $2.00 for the year. When companies are paying out that much of

I think that's changing, and 2016 could be the proof of it. In several closely fought races around the
country, candidates' actions and comments regarding gay people have come to the fore and come to

The outcomes of two of the most competitive gubernatorial contests – in Indiana and North Carolina

That's especially true in North Carolina, where Gov. Pat McCrory is being hammered for a

Attention Deficit Disorder can lead to several different problems such as slow work completion,
inconsistent accuracy in class work and homework, and poor study skills (DuPaul & Stoner, 1994).
In order to decrease the problems that result from the disorder, teachers must accommodate and
assist the children by using various techniques and ideas. Even though medication is widely used as
an intervention for students with ADD, training in "organizational strategies, self–monitoring, self–
evaluation, and self–instruction procedures can also help these students to perform better in general

"Teaching in a normal school is congruent with the "left–brained" educational system that
emphasizes orderliness, sequentially and familiarity...ADD children are right–brained, visual and

understandable. Complex instructions to assignments should be simplified and instructions repeated
clearly (Kidsource, 2000). When giving assignments to students, teachers must modify them. This
means that the time given to complete the task should be based on the teacher's knowledge of how
the student works. Children with ADD often become frustrated when working. In order to reduce
this, teachers must monitor and support them frequently. Positive reinforcers can be used as a form
of support as well as verbal encouragement. (Kidsource, 2000).
Other interventions have been devised in order to assist students in learning. One such intervention

Pricing is the method adopted by a firm to set its selling price. Pricing usually depends on the firm
average costs and on customer perceived value of the product in comparison to his or her perceived
value of the competing product.
Pricing is one of the important elements of the markets mix, which generate a turnover for the

Personal Leadership Development Plan
Personal Leadership Development Plan
Ivan F Rodriguez
University of Phoenix
Abstract
This leadership development plan (LDP) is tailored for its author and is not a research paper in the
traditional sense. The author begins with his personal framework for leadership. Included are the
results of several leadership assessment tools, information from coaching, and personal feedback,
and insights into the author's goals for career and leadership development. The report concludes
with thoughts on future development, and evaluating the progress of personal development.
Keywords: development plan, transformational leadership, behaviors, practices, learning process.
Introduction
It is my learned opinion that leaders are made not born, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Consequently this LDP assumes allocation of time, effort, money, and my best ability to learn from
my failures.
Self Assessment
Ivan F. Rodriguez September 2012: Use of Power: Expert and referent, Leadership Style: Concern
for task, Team Skills: 90, Conflict–handling Style: Competing. My contribution to the teams I lead
is very restrictive and task focused. This helps ensure team member's work is of the quality required,
and complete on time. I tend to work to ensure everyone knows their position and what they need to
do to complete tasks. My expert leadership approach brings my background experiences into the
task at hand, and help my team members learn and grow. I tend to not be overbearing in the
information presented but instead fill in when needed to give guidance to finish the task. I work
closely with team members to get information to all involved. If conflicts arise, I will push to get the
conflict eliminated through overpowering the situation with expert knowledge and experience.
I have interest and determination in building relationships, working leadership from the individual
and interpersonal level. I have little patience with individuals who are uncooperative or who create
more work for the rest of us. I have excellent communication skills that will help me to foster my
LDP. Although my emotional intelligence has improved over the years, my LDP considers the need
to continue enhancing

A leader must be positive, have a servant's heart, follow–through, exhibit growth potential, by loyal, be resiliency, have integrity, see the big picture, be disciplined, and express gratitude (Maxwell, 1995). A leader realizes that he cannot win an argument (Carnegie, 1936). A leader must speak in terms of the follower's interest and sincerely make him an integral contributor to the organization (Carnegie, 1936). There must be a willingness to understand others and an appreciation for differences in an organization (Maxwell, 2003b). I see myself as being likeable and agreeable. I try to get along with others, just as I try to build relationships with others. I am strongest in matters of values, character, and ethics. I think as an introvert about matters that will affect other people. I take pride in other people and see myself as being on this earth to serve other people. We do not get there alone. I tend to be motivated by challenging opportunities. Sometimes I want to do too much, like when I enroll in multiple degree programs. In some organizational settings I am motivated by a fight. I seem attracted to fights to defend my personnel, my organization, or to uphold the law. I am motivated internally or intrinsically to make a difference. • 4. The Effects Of Standardized Cognitive Tests On Student... There is an exorbitant amount of focus on standardized cognitive tests in K–12 education today – particularly measures of intelligence and achievement. The usefulness of these tests notwithstanding, they are limited in that they provide an incomplete picture of a student's abilities and needs. Having worked 14 years as an English teacher at Bergen County Technical School of Paramus (Bergen Tech), a vocational–technical high school with a predominantly special needs population, I find it unfortunate that the educational psychologists with whom I work have in recent years been directed to focus on cognitive tests such as the Woodcock–Johnson Test of Achievement and the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale, to the exclusion of non–cognitive measures that could provide insight into student emotional health and personality. For school staff endeavoring to help students negotiate the path to adulthood and guide them toward brighter more fulfilling futures, personality assessment could be used to help clarify needs, determine the severity of problems, make predictions about future behaviors, and aid in educational recommendations. It is necessary to highlight some of the complications unique to Bergen Tech Paramus and other vo– tech schools so as to fully appreciate the potential benefit of reintroduction of regular personality testing. Unlike the trade schools prevalent in Western Europe, which are regarded as normal and respectable paths to gainful employment, vo–tech schools in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. The Success Of The Ski Barn In a perfect world, retailers would have plenty of loyal customers year after year to keep them in business. However, this is not the case anymore, and keeping a customer loyal to your business is harder than it seems. Customers are more demanding when it comes to pricing and convenience today. If someone walks into a store looking to find something, and the business is out of stock, or they are unhappy with the price, they will go looking somewhere else, or worse turn to the internet. Family owned businesses are having an even harder time competing with big corporations. Often times a family business will open up and seem to be doing fine, until a bigger more well known company opens up just down the road. Most of the time the smaller companies are forced to close down. This is because they cannot compete with some of the discounts that are so easily handed out by the competition. Ski Barn is a family owned business, located in four locations within New Jersey: Paramus (Headquarters), Wayne, Lawrenceville, and Shewsberry. They sell ski and snowboard equipment, and offer multiple shop services in the winter, and patio furniture in the summer. They have to compete with big name companies like Dick's Sporting Goods, Modell's Sporting Goods, Zumies, and of course discount internet sites like Back Country, The House, and amazon.com during the winter. Concentrations of E. coli general were significantly less (P = 0.032) in REC, 1.33xR and 2xR compared to the 1.66xR treatment. Numerically, 2xR had the lowest concentration of C. difficile, and 1.66xR had the lowest concentration of C. perfringens out of the four treatments. Previous work with human subjects showed E. coli and substrain K–12 possess curcumin–converting activity, which is responsible for curcumin transformation and slowing down the degradation and metabolic process of curcumin (Hassaninasab et al., 2011). Thus, increasing the dosage of 95% liposomal–curcumin may have increased the growth activity of E. coli general and K–12 due to curcumin being broken down in the cecum. This can have a direct effect on these strains (Hassaninasab et al., 2011). In addition, this may be the reason for concentration responses. An aspect of self–care is considered to be "dependent care" which expands the degree of application ofthe model. The concepts in the theory of self–care are delineated in terms of sub–components and recognizable attributes. The definitions ofthe major constructs and their interrelationships enable one to explain, within the boundaries of the model, the relationship between the patient's self–care abilities and level of wellness, the relationship between diminished self–care abilities and the need for nursing support and the relationships among nursing agency, patient agency, therapeutic self–care demands and maximizing self–care abilities. The experiences I have been through, from elementary school to high school, have opened my eyes to the different types of education different schools have to offer. The schools that I have been to have required me to go through change that takes time. I have always been considerate of class because the schools that I have been to include students from all social classes. I keep this in mind when I try to connect with other students. I try to make myself more approachable and productive with them, because there are certain conflicts that may make it difficult to successfully communicate with them. This has also interfered with my actual education as well, because I need to be considerate of my teachers as well. Class within education brings in many factors that put us within a group of individuals that may have a different experience with education compared to other of different classes. I attended Paramus Catholic high school, and the change from elementary school was very dramatic. This high school had about 1500 students when I joined, so making new friends was quite difficult. I was told that everyone at my school was friendly, but I didn't believe it. I saw students from all different towns and all different social classes. I needed to make friends who I could relate to, because there were simply too many students in my school to become companions with. My first approach was to find other students of the same race as me, Filipino. The first two friends I made in high school were both Filipino, and it was easy to converse with them. After talking to them for a few days, I learned that one of them was in the working class, and the other was very wealthy. I assumed that becoming friends with them was only easy because we could connect through our backgrounds, and the idea of class division still frightened me. Afraid of making new friends, I took on the challenges of high school on my own, with no help from any of my classmates. I felt that I could be independent, especially after my parents told me to put school before friends. As a result, I stayed up late at night trying to learn all the material ... This is then followed with recommendation on how UPS can increase its efficiency with the MIS system and how they can implement an improved version of their current MIS system. Introduction In order for a given organization to gain a competitive advantage, it is crucial for businesses to use the latest technology in their core processes. The use of Management Information System (MIS) is therefore noted as perfect example of how technology can be used to leverage the resources of a given firm in order to realize a competitive advantage (Ong and Ismael,2008,p.62;Kroenke,2007,p.40). Shopping Mall Research Paper ––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– Shopping mall A shopping mall, shopping centre, shopping arcade, shopping precinct or simply mall is one or more buildings forming a complex of shops representing merchandisers, with interconnecting walkways enabling visitors to easily walk from unit to unit, along with a parking area – a modern, indoor version of the traditional marketplace. Modern "car–friendly" strip malls developed from the 1920s, and shopping malls corresponded with the rise of suburban living in many parts of the Western World, especially the United States, afterWorld War II. From early on, the design tended to be inward–facing, with malls following theories of how customers could best be enticed in a controlled ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The same is true forPortuguese–speaking Brazil, though with American spelling "shopping center". ––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– History Numerous covered shopping arcades, such as the 19th–century Al–Hamidiyah Souq in Damascus,Syria, can be considered precursors to the present–day shopping mall.[4] Isfahan's Grand Bazaar, which is largely covered, dates from the 10th century. The 10 kilometer long covered Tehran's Grand Bazaar also has a long history. The Grand Bazaar of Istanbul was built in the 15th century and is still one of the largest covered markets in the world, with more than 58 streets and 4,000 shops. Gostiny Dvor in St. Petersburg, which opened in 1785, may be regarded as one of the first purposely–built mall–type shopping complexes, as it consisted of more than 100 shops covering an area of over 53,000 m2 (570,000 sq ft). The Oxford Covered Market in Oxford, England opened in 1774 and still runs today. The Burlington Arcade in London was opened in 1819. The Arcade in Providence, Rhode Island introduced the retail arcade concept to the United States in 1828. This was a forerunner of today's shopping mall [5] The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan, Italy followed in the 1870s and is closer to large modern malls in spaciousness. Other ... E–commerce and CRM (Customer Relationship Management) According to analysts, the perfect customer is an ever–moving target. Once, e–tailers thrived by catering to young male customers who bought every new technological gadget and computer accessory as soon as it hit the market. Times are changing. Fourteen and a half hours of play with only 3 breaks for food, makes for an exhausting event. So what makes volleyball worth such a sacrifice? It is the endless possibilities and outcomes that can occur by playing this magnificent sport and challenging the basic laws of physics. In the sport of volleyball the same thing never happens twice. Things may seem similar but there are always slight differences. The differences are caused by trying to manipulate those ever so important laws of physics. Without gravity the ball would never come down. It would continue in the same direction in which the force was implied. Projectile motion involves gravity. Gravity is what makes the ball return to the ground. When gravity does its thing players are able to contact the ball for the second and third times and so forth. The direction of the ball is very important important. At every point in the game a player wants the ball to go in a specific direction with a precise angle. Depending on how one contacts the ball a player can make the volleyball change direction in mid air. The most common way for this to occur is using specific techniques when contacting the ball on a serve. One particular serve that forces the ball to change it's direct in mid air is a floater. If a player hits the ball strait on and there is little or no spin on the ball, it will go forward and the air resistance will cause it to suddenly move to one side or the other or back and forth(P.11). Coach Debbie Farnsworth says, " A floating serve is a wonderful weapon! It is very hard to judge where a floater will end up." There are many effective serves and one of the other most affective serves besides the floating serve is the jump serve. The few communications I see are the circulars that a customer can pick up at the customer service booth or upon entry of the store; I have never seen or heard of WFM using direct mailing. Recently WFM released an updated app that gives customers access to electronic coupons since they do not mail circulars. Based off the balance sheet, I would say WFM is profitable based on the number of sales. For a company like Amazon to acquire WFM when it did was a very strategic move especially since the company proves the products and production of the store is not the issue, it is the management of debt and the excessive expansions in hope to generate excessive wealth in a short span of time. After conducting a detail research on WFM I concluded if Amazon did not acquire WFM when it did, the company could potentially fold. The advantages of debt financing are that: bond investors are generally willing to accept a lower rate of return as compared to equity investors, the debt interest is tax deductible, and bond investors do not have voting rights on company issues. (Anthony 243) General Motors' times interest earned ratio has generally stayed on course except for 1998. This shows that GM needs strong sales volumes to pay its on its liabilities due to the low profit margin. If a long–term decline in worldwide auto sales occurs, GM may have difficulty paying on its debt. In February 1998, GM announced a four billion dollar stock buyback program to decrease the number of outstanding shares and lower the amount of dividend payments. This corporate action was completed in December 1999 and they used over 2.6 billion dollars in cash to finalize the program in 1999.(GM 1999 77) This action shows that GM is committed to primarily issuing new debt to finance any capital needs. The one benefit of this action is the amount of dividends that GM will have to pay out to the current shareholders. In 1998, GM had to pay out 47% of its earnings to keep its fixed dividend policy of $2.00 for the year. The outcomes of two of the most competitive gubernatorial contests – in Indiana and North Carolina – could be affected by voters' feelings about how the candidates have handled L.G.B.T. rights. That's especially true in North Carolina, where Gov. Pat McCrory is being hammered for a shockingly regressive measure that he signed into law last March. Children with ADD often become frustrated when working. In order to reduce this, teachers must monitor and support them frequently.
