What market products where
produced
• The Posters: They created five different simplistic poster, to promote the film. In the poster
dory I hiding in different underwater scene that the audience would remember from the last
film. The fact that dory is hiding is playing on the name of the film finding dory.
• The Trailer: there are different trailers brought out, all showing us the fun loving family film.
the trailer set up and sense of what the film is about with out giving away the hole story line.
The third and second trailer was about focusing more on baby dory and we see more about
the life in a aquarium and dory trying to find her family. In this trailer we start to meet more
characters including Hank the octopus and Destiny the whale
• Online and Social: they have a website where you can see the trailer and clips of the movie.
Also you are able to book ticket for the cinemas though the website. They also have a
Facebook page where they included count down images and promotions as well as the
trailers and clips on the website.
Where could audiences view the
trailer
• I was able to find the finding dory trailers on different media
platforms. All three trailer were available online on YouTube,
IMBD and cinema websites where you are able to watch the
trailers when ever your want. Another way of watching the
trailer is by viewing them on TV during the adverts, or when it
is advertised before another film at the cinema
• Their was so many ways of seeing this trailer, meaning that a
lot of people would have been able to view it.
What aspects of the film were
promoted to attract the audience?
• During all three trailers we see different aspect of the
film that make us feel different emotions, including
happiness and sadness. The use of these contrasting
emotions makes the trailer more interesting and the
film more appropriate for different viewers. Having
theses different aspects makes the film seem like a
family friendly film, the parents will want to take
their children too and want to see it for themselves.
In your opinion, which were the most
effective marketing strategies
• I think that the most effect market strategies where definitely
the trailers. I think due to the fact that they where able to
produce three different trailers and that they where
distributed across multiple media platforms. Also I think that
their social media was a very good marketing strategies, as
with this they where able to show the trailer and other clips
and where able to release information on the film before it
come out. This is also important as nowadays a lot more
people are using the internet, so it is a great way to get
people to know about your film. As well it is a way that they
can advertise their merchandise.
Which of these ideas could you ‘steal’
to market your gangster film
• For my film, I would like to use trailers and social media
like finding dory did as I feel it is the most effective work. I
could create social media accounts for my movie, including
Facebook, twitter and Instagram. Where on it I can release
the trailer. As well as this
I feel that I could create a
post that can be published
online as well. I feel that by
doing what finding dory did I will be able to get a lot more
publicity for my trailer.

Marketing Evaluation (Finding Dory)

  • 1. What market products where produced • The Posters: They created five different simplistic poster, to promote the film. In the poster dory I hiding in different underwater scene that the audience would remember from the last film. The fact that dory is hiding is playing on the name of the film finding dory. • The Trailer: there are different trailers brought out, all showing us the fun loving family film. the trailer set up and sense of what the film is about with out giving away the hole story line. The third and second trailer was about focusing more on baby dory and we see more about the life in a aquarium and dory trying to find her family. In this trailer we start to meet more characters including Hank the octopus and Destiny the whale • Online and Social: they have a website where you can see the trailer and clips of the movie. Also you are able to book ticket for the cinemas though the website. They also have a Facebook page where they included count down images and promotions as well as the trailers and clips on the website.
  • 2. Where could audiences view the trailer • I was able to find the finding dory trailers on different media platforms. All three trailer were available online on YouTube, IMBD and cinema websites where you are able to watch the trailers when ever your want. Another way of watching the trailer is by viewing them on TV during the adverts, or when it is advertised before another film at the cinema • Their was so many ways of seeing this trailer, meaning that a lot of people would have been able to view it.
  • 3. What aspects of the film were promoted to attract the audience? • During all three trailers we see different aspect of the film that make us feel different emotions, including happiness and sadness. The use of these contrasting emotions makes the trailer more interesting and the film more appropriate for different viewers. Having theses different aspects makes the film seem like a family friendly film, the parents will want to take their children too and want to see it for themselves.
  • 4. In your opinion, which were the most effective marketing strategies • I think that the most effect market strategies where definitely the trailers. I think due to the fact that they where able to produce three different trailers and that they where distributed across multiple media platforms. Also I think that their social media was a very good marketing strategies, as with this they where able to show the trailer and other clips and where able to release information on the film before it come out. This is also important as nowadays a lot more people are using the internet, so it is a great way to get people to know about your film. As well it is a way that they can advertise their merchandise.
  • 5. Which of these ideas could you ‘steal’ to market your gangster film • For my film, I would like to use trailers and social media like finding dory did as I feel it is the most effective work. I could create social media accounts for my movie, including Facebook, twitter and Instagram. Where on it I can release the trailer. As well as this I feel that I could create a post that can be published online as well. I feel that by doing what finding dory did I will be able to get a lot more publicity for my trailer.
