My Favorite Hobby
I have always been a visual learner. That is why I am great at Math: Teachers usually work with
the student, writing the problems on the board and solving them. It is the opposite for English:
English teachers do not give examples of how to write or put ideas together. Watching someone do
something is easier for me. That is how I learned to cook at such a young age.
As a child, my parents never physically taught me how to cook. I would watch my Mom and Dad
cook dishes that are native to them. I would watch my Dad make Adobo, filling the air with a
lovely smell of salt and vinegar. I would watch my Mom make Pozole, moving in the kitchen like
Taz, never stopping to rest. I would watch what ingredients they use; noticing how the ingredients,
when mixed with others, created a new masterpiece.
I learned to cook Mexican and Filipino foods by observing my parents. But I know how to cook
more than just Mexican and Filipino foods. I know how to cook Italian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese,
Vietnamese, Spanish, American, and much more. I learned to cook these foodtypes by watching the
Food Network channel. Instead of being a normal child, watching cartoons when they got home and
on the weekends, I would watch the Food Network, taking mental notes of what they were cooking
and the techniques they used, not realizing that I was learning.
When I first started cooking, I had trouble. I burnt myself. I burnt the food. I dropped the food. I
did not know what tools to use. It was a total mess;

Through the years, different interpretations of Batman characters would emerge. The 1960 s
Batman television series used a camp aesthetic, which would continue to be related to the
character, years after the popular show ended. Unhappy with this Batman from the TV series,
creators tried with all their power to return the Dark Knight to his even darker roots as a superhero.
This started, in 1986 with Frank Miller s The Dark Knight Returns , a comic book series, that
would bring back Batman to what he was as a character in the beginning. To help even more, the
Warner Brother s Batman movie trilogy helped maintain a popular public interest in Batman, and
to finally make sure his character was remember as intended. Batman has become an American
culture icon through a variety of media, from radio to television to the big screen. Batman also
appears on a variety of merchandise sold all around the world, including toys and even video game
adaptations. Even professional psychiatrists became interested in Batman, trying to fully understand
the character s psyche and state of mind. Batman is so popular, that by both IGN and Empire
Magazine, he has been placed second, behind superman, as the best superhero. Batman s popularity
drew many great and famous actors to become him in TV and in movies. These actors include
Lewis Wilson, Robert Lowery, Adam West, Michael Keaton, Kevin Conroy, Val Kilmer, George
Clooney, Christian Bale and the newest Caped Crusader Ben Affleck. Batman is a pop culture
icon, recognized all across the world. Batman has expanded beyond the comic book origin, starting
with the 1989 Batman film and its first line of official Batman merchandise. In an article celebrating
the sixtieth anniversary of Batman, The Guardian wrote, Batman is a figure blurred by the endless
reinvention that is modern mass culture. He is at once an

After that we took a look at what our reviewers wrote for us. In their review of our PowerPoint,
one thing they stated was, The only thing that we would change is the font. It seems to be very
close together and difficult to read. We took these two suggestions into consideration, and decided
it would be best to follow their advice and change up the font and spacing. We changed the font
sizes of both the titles and subtitles to fit best for the specific slide. Each slide now has different
font sizes and formatting to make it most appealing for specific slide that it is on, and it made our
presentation easier to follow. Another suggestion that we received was The bullet points are not
consistent throughout the PowerPoint . This was a silly mistake that would have been foolish to
leave in a presentation addressing a professional audience. After looking at what our reviewers
were referencing, we noticed that the bullets changed shape as the presentation progressed. This
made the presentation inconsistent and we decided that it had to be changed. Changing the
presentation to make the bullets consistent made our presentation appear much more professional.
The final suggestion that we received on the Powerpoint from the peer review pertained to the
titles of the slides. They pointed out a couple problems with our titles stating It is not necessary to

Compare And Contrast The French Revolution And The...
There are many similarities and differences when comparing revolutions. Most of these revolutions
fall in around the same time and some had the same causes/goals. The American, French, and
Haitian revolutions all took place in a span of less than 100 years. While these revolutions have
much if common, they also have differences in the effect of these wars. The American revolution
started in 1770 when conflict of the citizens and English broke out. Civilians opposed the English
law and they believed that the taxes imposed were unfair to the people. These disagreements led
many citizens to revolt leading to the protests in Boston and the Boston Tea Party. Many people in
the colonies dumped crates of tea into the water to prove a point that these laws and taxes were
unfair. Their goals were to have unity throughout the colonies and to be free from English law.
After the French and Indian war, the residents knew they had to do something about these
problems. After this war, the Treaty of Paris was signed and the colonies were officially free from
England. Since the English no longer have rule over them, they had to find a new form of
government. This was the beginning of the Articles of Confederation. Which then after influenced
the U.S Constitution.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This same year was the start of the French revolution. The causes of this war were very comparable
to the American revolution, such as disapproval of tax systems and laws, as well as to be free
from the poor leadership of their monarchy. The french though, were suffering from a decrease in
crop production and a poor economy. This revolution lasted 26 years, as a result of this long
running battle, the French started a democracy. This democracy and conflict also led to the rise of

Chesapeake And New England Colonies Essay
A community is a group of people who work together towards a common goal and share a
common interest. Lack of such a quality can and most likely will cause a struggling town or city to
fall into the extremes of poverty and wealth. The New England community was so strong and so
supportive in comparison to that of the Chesapeake Bay, that it is no wonder they developed into
two distinctly different cultures before the year 1700. The Chesapeake region developed into a land
of plantations and money driven owners, with the elite wealthy, almost no middle class, and those in
poverty creating the population. New England, on the other hand, had developed into a religion
and family based society comprised of mostly middle class families by 1700.... Show more content

The motives that drove the Pilgrims and Puritans away from anything familiar and the trust they
placed in God only proved that they were going to make their life in the new world work, no
matter what. Not everyone in England was facing a harsh persecution; many travelers came to the
New World with high hopes of money, which led to numerous conflicts. It was a land for the rich
to get richer. Most of the settlers bound for Virginiaand the Southern colonies had a get rich or
die trying type of attitude. The only thing tearing them from home was a flimsy promise of gold
that may or may not be there. The motive of such people is so radically different. There were no
pacts of agreement, no common laws that kept them in a community once landing. This led the
men to never develop any sense of belonging with their fellow men, causing a distinct survival
society by 1700. Every man was for himself. It was a bitter game displaying the survival of the
richest.
The travelers from England that headed for the Chesapeake Bay were predominantly men,
which led to an unbalanced society and lack of wives to promote a family based culture. The
passenger list for one boat had a sex ratio of sixty four men to eleven women. Not only was there
a radical imbalance, only four of the men were above forty, while only eight total were above
thirty (Doc. C). That left fifty six young males headed to a new land with only their self

Denmark Health Care System
The Nation Denmark is the oldest kingdom in the world and one of the oldest states in Europe. The
current monarch, Queen Margrethe II is very popular among the Danes and began ruling in 1972.
Denmark s history started with the Viking age. The Danes conquered northern and eastern England
and Christianity was introduced during this time. The Reformation fighting ended in 1536 and left
the establishment of the Lutheran church headed by the monarch. Denmark lost territory and
money in the Thirty Years War with Sweden. However, the Great Northern War restored Denmark s
power in the Baltic. Despite some territorial losses, Denmark started to prosper economically,
introducing a representative form of government and many social and educational reforms.
Denmark remained neutral in the First World War and the present southern border with Germany
was established. As Hitler rose to power in Germany, Denmark introduced the Great Social
Reforms, continuing to prosper culturally. Denmark was occupied by Germany in World War II.
Denmark joined the European Community in 1973. The education system in Denmark is much
desired. All higher education in Denmark is free, including college, graduate schools, and medical
school. The Danish school system consists of a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Capital Punishment Is A Form Of Punishment
Capital Punishment is a form of punishment used to put criminals to death for certain serious
crimes. Capital Punishment has been around for many years in different variations by putting an
individuals to death, because many people are afraid to die. However, over the years problems
have risen about the ethical issues on whether killing someone in terms of a punishment is ethical
or unethical. Therefore, since the death penalty is within the states, some states decided to opt out
of being a death penalty state. The states that decided to remain as a death penalty state were those
who crimeand murderrates are continually increasing over the years; however, the states that
decided to opt out have low crimes rates and sees imprisonment as deterrence rather than death.
The state of Kentucky is one of the states within the United States who still support the death
penalty. On January 1, 1975 the death penalty was reinstated within the state of Kentucky.
However, issues on whether putting someone to death is immoral and has become a leading topic
in the correctional system and public. Therefore, a bill was proposed by Rep. Tom Burch, which
would enforce the task force to review all possible outcomes on whether capital punishment deters
crime and is applied fairly, also is capital punishment still accepted within the society we live in
today. After reviewing the bill that was proposed, Rep. Jesse Crenshaw, a former prosecutor who
once supported capital punishment, stated that he

Statistical data report assessing the performance of two schools
The aim of this report is to analyse the assessment results of two primary schools within Bradford
on Avon, a small town in Wiltshire; Fitzmaurice Community Primary School and Christ Church
Voluntary Controlled Primary School. The data below is retrieved from the Department of Education
(2014) and compared with local authority and national averages.
Part A: (DfE, 2014)

in reading, writing and maths. Pupils meet the expected standard if they achieve a scaled score of

This may provide an explanation or causal link for the schools assessment results performance,
particularly Christ Church. Yet a question is still raised as to why there is a difference in
performance of the two schools, particularly when the both schools are located in the same town.
(DfE, 2014)
Figure 4 illustrates how both schools have a smaller than average percentage of pupils where
English is not their first language (EAL). For instance, while the national average percentage is
20%, Fitzmaurice Primary School contains just 3% of EAL pupils, and Christ Church obtains an
even lower percentage of 0.6%. Fitzmaurice s slightly higher percentage here may explain why the
school isn t performing as successfully as pupils from Christ Church.
Part B:
Both figures 1 and 2 show that pupils from Christ Church are making better progress at the end of
KS2 compared with pupils at Fitzmaurice and the national average. There are various causes for
these differences in performance, including selected areas of deprivation and economic disparity
within the town, differences in ethnic groups as well as diverse teaching methods and use of
feedback.
The county of Wiltshire has been found to be somewhat affluent. To demonstrate this, the DETR
Index of Local Deprivation (2004) provides evidence displaying some of the

Examples Of Existentialism In As You Like It
SHAKESPEAREAN PLAY PHILOSOPHY The play to be reviewed is As You Like It, written by
William Shakespeare. The prevailing philosophy throughout the play is existentialism. What is
existentialism? Existentialism can be defined through its ontology. Ontology is the study of the
nature of reality and is also called the theory of reality. The ontologyof existentialismcan be
discussed in under concepts of man and existence. In the concept of man, existentialists believe that
man is not bound by any antecedent human nature but rather free to determine its own nature. It
opposed those deterministic theories (ex. inborn talents, predestined path of life, etc.) and favoured
principle of indeterminism. To be a man is to be undetermined, to be free.... Show more content on

According to Heidegger, man can only reflect his real self to his self. Man cannot be what he is
not. He can be what he is already: his existence. He further says that humans were temporal
beings. It finds itself finite because he was bound in time and the space he was experiencing.
And when man finds itself finite, his existence would be doomed. But by his free will, he can
overcome these threats to his existence. For Heidegger, on the one hand man is creator of his
own experience and on the other hand, he is subject of his experience. If man accepts the
responsibility for developing his own being then he has true human aspects in his personality. In
the concept of existence, existentialists differentiate the verb to exist from the verb to live . For
them, existence means a full, self conscious, responsible and growing life. Existentialists divided
the concept of existence between authentic existence, and inauthentic existence. A man can live in
an unauthentic existence by being a member of a group that is absorbed only in things and details
of everyday life. But a man can live in an authentic existence by living through his choices. As
quoted from Marcel, to exist means not just to be present to my own aware ness

The Power of the Moral Ideal in The Fountainhead Essay
The Power of the Moral Ideal in The Fountainhead
The Fountainhead is a novel of gigantic proportions. It deals with great talent and great mediocrity,
with great love and great hatred, with great ambition and equally great complacence. It
unpretentiously chooses to steer clear of the much hyped common man, with his commonplace
dreams and aspirations.
The theme of The Fountainhead can be summarized in the famous line by the author man s ego is
the fountainhead of human progress . The novel exalts egotism, which is generally looked upon in
our world with great dislike. The protagonist, Howard Roark, is a man used by the author to
exemplify this philosophy. He is a man of outstanding genius whose only fault seems to be ... Show

Roark is a man who lives up to the word man . He believes that man alone has power over
himself He does not believe in God or in destiny, simple because he doesn t need to. In order to be
truly great a man must be physically, mentally and spiritually be involved in his work, the way
Roark was. Roark treats his work with the respect and reverence that other men lavish over God. To
him, insincerity towards one s work is the worst blasphemy possible. This is the line of thought that
runs throughout the novel.
The hallmark of Roark is work is his complete irreverence for all precedents, traditions and
conventions. His ideas are too revolutionary to be accepted, but he refuses, at any point of time to
compromise with his ideals, no matter what his compulsions may be. He is a man of such immense
integrity, that he would rather break stones in a quarry than make a substandard building. which is
what the world demands of him.
The reason why some people seek to destroy Howard Roark is that his very presence evokes an
unreasonable fear in their hearts. This quest to destroy the genius within him started from the very
beginning of his career when he was expelled from The Stanton institute of Technology, where he
had been studying architecture. All his teachers except his mathematics professor were against him

Constitutional Law And The Criminal Justice System Essay
When it comes to the United States, (U.S), the majority of the American people love their seconded
amendment rights. As stated in the textbook, Constitutional Law and the Criminal Justice System
by J. Scott Harr, Karen M. Hess, Christine Orthmann, the second amendment of the United States
Constitution, for the most part, protects the U.S. citizens rights to keep and bear arms (Harr, Hess,
Orthmann, Kingsbury, 2015, p. 167). That being said, each state in the U.S. will vary in their
firearms laws. For instance, some states make it easier for their residence to purchase or use a
firearm; other states may have stricter laws that require a more scrutinized screening process. To
be more specific, most states vary in elements, such as the exceptions to the National Instant
Criminal Background Check System, or NICS, the waiting period on purchasing firearms; if
someone needs a license to own or purchase a gun; if registration is required; and if a record of
the firearm sales is sent to the local police. Other factors that will differ from state to state would
include, if some firearms are permitted or not allowed to be sold or owned by a state, the
concealed carry laws, hunter protection laws; range protection laws, and finally, not all states have
firearm injury lawsuit preemption.
At the present time, the NICS principle objective is to insure that firearms do not fall under the
control of individuals who wittingly abuse the privilege or mistreat others (Bureau of Alcohol,

Essay On Temporomandibular Joint Syndrome
Temporomandibular Joint Syndrome
Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) syndrome is a condition that affects the joints between your jaw
and your skull. The TMJs are located near your ears and allow your jaw to open and close. These
joints and the nearby muscles are involved in all movements of the jaw. People with TMJ
syndrome have pain in the area of these joints and muscles. Chewing, biting, or other movements of
the jaw can be difficult or painful.
TMJ syndrome can be caused by various things. In many cases, the condition is mild and goes
away within a few weeks. For some people, the condition can become a long term problem.

DIAGNOSIS
Diagnosis can usually be made based on your symptoms, your medical history, and a physical
exam. Your health care provider may check the range of motion of your jaw. Imaging tests, such
as X rays or an MRI, are sometimes done. You may need to see your dentist to determine if your
teeth and jaw are lined up correctly.
TREATMENT
TMJ syndrome often goes away on its own. If treatment is needed, the options may include:
Eating soft foods and applying ice or heat.
Medicines to relieve pain or inflammation.
Medicines to relax the muscles.
A splint, bite plate, or mouthpiece to prevent teeth grinding or jaw clenching.
Relaxation techniques or counseling to help reduce stress.
Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS). This helps relieve pain by applying an

Pathophysiology Of Adsulitis
The following literature review describes the pathophysiology, epidemiology, associated
comorbidities, secondary conditions and treatment of adhesive Capsulitis (Frozen Shoulder) with
an emphasis on current physical activity and exercise as a treatment strategy.
Pathophysiology
Adhesive Capsulitis (AC) commonly known as Frozen shoulder (FS), is a condition characterised
by stiffness and pain in the glenohumeral joint (GH), with limitations to both active and passive
range of motion in all directions. It can arise from an injury or trauma to the shoulder and chest
area or spontaneously without any obvious preceding event (Van der Zwaal, and Van de Laar,
2014: Tami, Akutsu and Yano, 2013).
The GH (shoulder joint) is structurally classified as a synovial ball (head of humerous) and socket

(Peterson and Redlund Johnell, 2009). Functional movements of the joint include flexion,
extension, abduction, adduction both frontal and transverse plane, medial and lateral rotation and
circumduction. The shoulder also allows for scapular protraction, retraction, elevation, and
depression (Quillen, Wuchner, Hatch, 2004). The primary stabilisers of the shoulder are the biceps
brachii (anterior side of the arm), and tendons of the rotator cuff (supraspinatus, infraspinatus, teres
minor, and subscapularis) which stabilise the joint by fusing to all sides of the capsule except the
inferior margin (Tami, Akutsu and Yano, 2013). The joint capsule and the ligaments of the GH
joint work together to provide passive restraint, ensuring the humeral head remains in contact with
the glenoid fossa. The lateral attachment of the GH joint capsule attaches to the anatomical neck of
the humerous while the glenoid and the labrum are the medial attachment points (Dutton, 2008).
When the arm is in the resting position, the inferior and anterior portions of the capsule is loose,
while the superior portion is tight.

Scandal In Bohemia Vs Departures Essay
A study of Sir Conan Doyle s short story, A Scandal in Bohemia and Yojiro Takita s film,
Departures effectively present discovery as an inevitable aspect of human condition that transcends
the impediments of time. Both texts highlight that the discovery of weaknesses leads to new
perspectives as it instils understanding, which are significant aspects of the human condition. While
Doyle employs literary techniques to express various forms of flaws and respect, Takita
manipulates various cinematic techniques to convey underlying aspects of human nature. While
these composers offer differing perspectives, both composers demonstrate the timelessness of
discovery and its vitality for the human condition. It is apparent Doyle believes that the discovery
of weakness is a vital aspect of the human condition. This can be seen through the characterization

What Is Poe s Name Of The Animals In The Black Cat
In the literature The Black Cat by Edgar Allan Poe. The narrator, mentions that in the next few
days he would die. He describes himself as a caring and loving man, who when was young was
despised by others for his fear of animals. He married a woman who had the same fear of animals,
though she invited many animals to live their home. There were birds, gold fish, a very well dog,
rabbits, a tiny monkey and a cat. The name of the cat is Pluto this was the cat s name was my
favorite pet and playmate. I alone fed him, and he attended me wherever I went to the house. It was
even with difficulty that I could prevent him from following me through the streets (Poe). The man

National Geographic (before the world wide web) brought the world to its readers. The

Lord Of The Flies Character Analysis
In Lord of the Flies, a group of teenage boys is faced with the tremendous obstacle of being
stranded on an island after their plane had unfortunately crashed. To make matters worse, the
eldest of the group is only twelve years old. They are now faced with the task of establishing
roles for everyone to ensure that their time on the island went a smooth as possible, and that
they were rescued as soon as possible. By establishing roles amongst the group, not everyone
was able to be assigned their desired role, so naturally some of the boys were upset. This story
provided a fairly accurate depiction of how it could possibly be when establishing a civilization
in real life. Fairly shortly after the boy s plane crashed, everyone was assigned roles, and the
voted leader of them all was Ralph. Ralph was really wise beyond his years, especially in
comparison to many of the other boys on the island, and really had his priorities straight. Ralph s
main concern was survival and order amongst the group, along with that came food and most
importantly a signal fire big enough for passing boats to notice. One major quote from the book
showing Ralph s leadership came early on, They obeyed the summons of the conch, partly because
Ralph blew it, and he was big enough to be a link with the adult world of authority. (Golding 50)
This quote shows how Ralph had authority of the group in the beginning, and when he spoke they
listened. Many of the other boys were more concerned with childish

College Experience In College
After high school ends, most young people take the track to college. The college experience can
be both exciting yet scary. There are so many new adjustments to make and there s a whole lot
more responsibility on your shoulders as an adult. However, there s no need to stress out about
the process. As you begin your collegiate career, it s best to remember a few key tips to be
successful. Implement these tips as soon as you possibly can and they will serve you well in your
collegeyears.
1. Maintain an income stream.
Many people will discourage you from working during your first semester in college. The intentions
are well meaning. They don t want you to struggle with juggling work and school at the same
time. However, college is your first opportunity into the real world. In the real world, adults have
to take care of themselves. If you have a car, you re going to need to purchase gas. If you ever
want to fly home for the holiday breaks, you re going to need to purchase a plane ticket. You ll
also need toiletries and necessities for daily living. In this case, it s wise to maintain a simple
part time job or side hustle. Whether the side hustle involves babysitting once or twice a week,
freelance writing gigs or working in the cafeteria at school, make sure you have a way to earn a bit
of money on a consistent basis.
2. Develop a morning ritual.
The morning is the the time when you have the most control. As the day goes on, things happen
and your schedule gets crowded.

The Great Gossip Girl By F. Scott Fitzgerald
Abbi Kopf
1.7.16
The Great Gossip Girl
A young man desperately battling society, wealth, and rich obnoxious friends in order to win the
heart of the perfect girl...is this the story of The Great Gatsby, or the CW s Gossip Girl? Both,
actually: the hit TV show mirrors Fitzgerald s most famous work through parallel themes and
characters. Cynical subjects such as doomed love and corruption of the upper class play a major
part in both works, as well as the story of fight to surmount class and poverty. This story actually
played out a couple of times over the course of Gossip Girl s intensely dramatic six seasons, but
most notably between Dan Humphrey and Serena Van Der Woodsen. Dan Humphrey was the
James Gatz of Gossip Girl, still struggling to become Jay Gatsby. He had a nice life with his father
and sister in Brooklyn, but always dreamed about something greater. When Nick finally told the
reader Gatsby s true origin story, he said, he invented just the sort of Jay Gatsby that a seventeen
year old boy would be likely to invent, and to this conception he was faithful to the end (p.104).
Dan and Gatsby both had an idealized, or Platonic, view of themselves and the way their lives
would turn out, and they would stop at nothing to get it. Dan created and used Gossip Girl as a
way to get into Serena s world just Gatsby used Nick to get Daisy back. Both men saw their
dream girl as all the money and glamour and fame that they wanted distilled into one person, a
person whose voice

Canada s Role During The World Since 1945

Canada s Role in the world since 1945
Canada has played a big role in the world since 1945 and this role has continued to this very day.
Canada is still to this day being viewed as a peacekeeping nation because of its efforts and
contributions in organizations like the United Nations, NATO and NORAD. These have given
Canada a bigger and more important role in the world.Canada has made considerable

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization, or NATO, was formed in 1949 and was focused on
protecting Western European countries from a possible of invasion by the Soviet Union. The North
American Defence System, or NORAD, was an agreement created in 1957 between Canada and the
United States. This agreement was made to stop the threat of Soviet attack on North America. The
United Nations was formed in April of 1945 and consisted of 50 countries that all shared the same
ideals and basic goals. The four basic goals of the United Nations are; maintaining world peace and

Ipv4 Vs. Ipv4 Ipv6
IPv4 vs. IPv6
IPv4 and IPv6 are communication protocols (rules) which allow remote computers, servers, and
other IT related devices to communicate. Both owe their existence to the massive growth of the
internet. There was no need for IP versions in 1969 when the internet began as ARPANET, a
network set up by the United States Defense Advance Research Project. With only a few dozen
computers on the net, each identified by a host name, they were able identify, contact and
communicate with each other using host name only. When ARPANET went public and became
what we know as the internet today, using host names only to identify devices became untenable.

That ignorance was short lived as the internet, and the number of devices connected to it grew
exponentially. Every device which connects to the internet requires an IP address. Computers,
printers, tablets, and phones must each have a unique address or they will not be able to
communicate via the net. The magnitude of internet growth revealed there was a need for more
addresses by the late 1980s. Pv4 addresses are separated into 5 classes which are identified by the
first Octet value as follows (Odom, p.391):
Class A1 126 Unicast addresses(0 127 reserved)
Class B128 191Unicast addresses
Class C192 223Unicast addresses
Class D224 239Multicast addresses not used for unicast
Class E240 255Experimental not used for unicast The classes were divided into network groups
which determined how many actual IPv4 addresses were in each group. The chart below best
illustrates the network/IPv4 address breakdown (Odom, p. 394):
RANGECLASSNETWORKSADDRESSES
0Reserved
1 126A12616,000,000 each
127Reserved
128 191B16,00065,000 each
192 223C2,000,000254 each
224 239DMulticastMulticast
240 255EExperimentalExperimental
With a limited numbers of IP addresses available, the original practice of assigning a whole
network from a class, for example a Class B network from the 129 range with 65,000 addresses, to
a company which needed only 500 IP addresses, wasted IP addresses.

What Is Deception In Much Ado About Nothing
In Shakespeare s Much ado about nothing, there are many instances of deception, which seem to

Bartleby Totalitarianism
The Narrator in Bartleby the Scrivener makes a point to describe the setting and its interactions
with the characters to Elucidate not only the question of Free Will but to create Melville s
indictment of labor within the structure of Capitalism. The Concept of Free Will and necessity play
an important role in constructing the universe and laws therein. They not only aid in structuring the
plot and how a thing occurs in a fictional universe. They give insight to the author s view of the
world and are recurring themes in Herman Melvilles work. The concept of Free Willand necessity
allow for an immediate change in the moral paradigm and give Melville a platform and structure
with which to create his indictment of labor and Capitalism. In Bartlebythe Schrivener, he mentions
two Necessitarian philosophers from a Christian background. The two works by these philosophers
and Necessitarianism in general give a unique perspective as to what Melville is trying to convey
in this story. They construct a world not of possibilities, but of rigidity and lacking in the traditional

Immigration And Immigrants In Australia
Immigration can be defined as the action of individuals coming to live permanently or for a period
in another country. With a forecasted population of 40 million by 2050 in Australia, the population
growth in Australia remains at a steady rate of 1.6%. According to the Bureau of Statistics, each
year, Australias population increases about 350,000 where 190,000 of them are immigrants.
Australia is the currently ranked first amongst the major developed countries for its rapidly
increasing population growth rate. Since 1851, when the discovery of gold was found in Bathurst,
NSW, a significant number of continental Europeans, North Americans and Chinese migrated to
Australia with the hope of making a fortune. Moreover, during the second half of the nineteenth
century, the Australian government decided to subsidise migration to increase the immigrationof
Europeans to Australia. With the White Australian Policy in place, in 1938, the Australian
Government agreed to accept 15,000 Jewish refugees, as a large proportion of the Jewish
community were seeking to leave Germany and Austria due to the forced removal of Jews, The
Nazi policy of Judenrein. The White Australia Policy began to be abandoned in 1966, under Prime
Minister Harold Holt. The last reside of the system was finally abolished in 1973 under the
Government of Gough Whitlam.
Then, in the mid 1940s up to about 1964, during the period of World War II, there was a period of
a noticeable growth in birth rate, known as the baby boomers generation. In this era, these boomers
grew up at a time of dramatic social change, where the Australian economy had an unemployment
rate of 2% due to the free tertiary education.
Furthermore, during the 1970s and 1980s, around 120,000 southern Asian refugees migrated to
Australia, transforming Australia into a multicultural nation. As of this period, immigration to
Australia in the late twentieth century was influenced by a number of world events, including (
the fall of Saigon in 1975 ; the fall of East Timor to Indonesian s troops in 1975; dictatorships in

Reflection On Ethics And Ethics
Great individuals have great ethics and great values. Ethics and morality can be used
interchangeably as they sound as if they mean the same although there is a wide distinction
between them. Strictly speaking, morality is used to refer to what we would call moral standards
and moral conduct while ethicsis used to refer to the formal study of those standards and conduct.
For this reason, the study of ethics is also often called moral philosophy. (Gordana D 2007)
Morality comes first which constitutes of our beliefs and practices on what is right and wrong
while ethics comes next which is a reflection on the moral principles by our conscience. Morality is

When we have performances the amount of time we get to make a routine and practice is pretty
less, so not everyone gets to be a part of the team. Kicking someone out is not as easy as it

the normative theories I realised that while making decisions about who should be removed,
which show to perform in etc. the main thing that I think of is what is going to benefit more

guilt on my behalf in the short term but in the long term, the level of performance rose leaving
the crew, judges and the audience happy. Also, sometimes we had to choose on which show to

because it offers us greater benefit opposed to a show at a smaller level. Thus, in this way the

Veganism and a Sustainable Lifestyle Essay
Albert Schweitzer, French philosopher, physician, and musician, said until he extends the circle of
his compassion to all living things, man will not himself find peace. This is a tacit statement,
humanity will not be able to find peace until it adopts a more sustainable lifestyle, and it has been
proven time and time again, that veganismis that lifestyle. Becoming vegan is a powerful
experience, and one feels rejuvenated, both morally and physically, after acclimating to the diet,

the chemical fertilizers and pesticides used in factory farms have turned agriculture into a leading

that the environmental benefits of veganism are not enough for them to give up consuming animal

reason for them to change their ways; however, many studies have been conducted that prove

Play Critique
The Doctor in Spite of Himself:
The Doctor in Spite of Himself is a play that I had previously studied in France like many of
MoliГЁre s plays. I thought that it was ironic for me to go see the play for the first time in
theatre in the United States. I was really looking forward to hear how the actors would pronounce
the characters French names, which are rather exotic even for me. I think that because I had
previously studied MoliГЁre s work in class, I was expecting this play to be performed in a much
more traditional style. I was a little disconcerted at first when seeing the actors performing a more
modern version than what I had in mind. I ended up liking what Arne Zaslove has done with the

I was not expecting the costumes to be as eccentric. Even though they were matching the
characters role and personality, I felt like they were too wacky and did not go well with the play.
Throughout the play, I enjoyed the role of music used to set a comic atmosphere and replace the
dialogs during comic scenes (e.g. when they chase each other around). I also thought that they
made a good use of light to indicate the moment of the day the scene was happening or to set the
atmosphere of the scene (e.g. pink colour during the romantic moments). Lastly, I liked the way the
play ended. Even though it was a little messy with everyone running after each other off and on
stage, and this policeman coming out of nowhere, which really surprised me; I couldn t think of a
better way to end the play.
Overall I think the actors and everyone involved in the making of this play did a very good job,
even though I liked the performance of some actors better than others. The fact that this translation
of the play was a more modern version original play made it more fun to watch according to me.
Unfortunately, the fact that I was not able to fully understand the actors dialog throughout the play
made it less entertaining and agreeable for me to

The Raft of the Medusa by Theodore Gericault
The Raft of the Medusa by Theodore Gericault is considered by many to be one of the greatest
paintings of Romantic Art. Here I will discuss Romantic Art, some history behind the painting, the
painting in general, and to prove why the first statement is true. If we are going to call this painting
Romantic Art one must first know what it actually is or have some sort of idea what is counted as
Romanticismor as something that Romantics would do. Romanticism celebrates the spontaneity
and the use of the imagination. Abandoning tradition constraints of the art world to explore new
and creative ways of expression. Possibly seen as intuitive individualism and primacy of feeling.
Romantics didn t reject reason but though emotions were... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

He interviewed the survivors, drew mutilated corpses in the Paris morgue, and had a model
created in his studio of the raft. The painting was 16 feet 1 inch by 23 feet 6 inches so it is huge
in size and the dramatic impact was just as amazing. This gave the people a record of an event
that happened in a time before photography. At first glance a viewer might just see people
huddled on a raft together, a couple waving down a ship, and trying to get someone off canvases
attention while others try to keep those who are weaker on the raft. But if they look closer they
might notice other things of interest that are commonly found in Romanticism or Romantic Art.
Gericault use of the double triangles in this image of the mast and rope help keep the main
focus on the people on the raft who are dying or dead. Suffering against heat, dehydration,
starvation, and forced to canalize each other to survive which is a true struggle against nature but
also against ones self. It would be a very horrific and emotional experience for anyone to have to
choose between eating another human being or dying of starvation. He focuses on the true
emotion, the disgusting horror of the event, and what had to be done or was done to survive. It
has very rustic looking colors in the image, reds, oranges, yellows, browns, blacks, and grays that
give it an autumn like color theme. This gives you a sense that they

A Career As A Spanish Language Teacher
When I was younger I observed and experienced the Spanish culture and found such interest in
expanding my education to later on pursue the career of a Spanish Language Teacher. After
researching the responsibilities, the work conditions, salary, the outlook, and future; a career as a
spanish language teacher would be interesting, and the perfect training would be at St. Mary s
University at San Antonio. Tasks and responsibilities for this career are all very different and must
be done on a daily basis when getting the students to comprehend and understand the new teachings.
Foreign Language Teachers must make sure to interpret the terminology and translate it into the
student s natural language to help them understand better in their learning. They must also provide
instruction in the literature and also in the history of the culture so that the students will be
learning correctly. Professors should also tests students frequently to see their progress so that they
know exactly where they re at. These tests and other activities will show the teacher if the students
understand to read, write, and most importantly the overall understanding in the dialect. If the
instructor sees that the students may need a bit more of help with understanding, it is
recommended that the students work in small groups so that other learners that have a better
understanding of the language can help the ones that don t really understand. Professors should also
ensure students that they are in a

In recent years, Porter opened a new $50 million 10 gate terminal, increasing take off slots from
167 to 202 (allowing for more flights during the day). Within the last year, Porter Airlines has
added service to Newfoundland and Charleston, South Carolina. The company is currently
approaching the completion of an underground tunnel, which will increase and improve traffic
flow from the terminal to the main land compared to the original transportation via ferry. It has
long been assumed that in the recent years Porter has plateaued. Billy Bishop is restricted to 202
landing slots daily, and the Q400s can t fly any farther than Porter already flies them. Due to this,
in April 2013, Porter announced expansion plans to increase its customer base. The plan stated that
their goals would be accomplished through increasing the number of destinations, acquiring 30
Bombardier CS100 Jets, and increasing the airport runway by 300 meters on each end. However
their plan has been met with many challenges, because Porter s plans require regulatory and facility
changes to its Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport hub. Porter has asked for modifications to the
operating agreement of the airport to allow jets and extensions to the runway to support the new
aircraft (Porter, 2015). Signed in 1983 by the federal and municipal governments and the
predecessor to the Port Authority, the tripartite agreement lays out regulations and restrictions
intended to govern Billy

The Current American Tax Code
A recent national survey conducted by the Pew Research Center on April 7, 2013 found that 56% of
Americans have a negative reaction towards income taxes. For this reason, most presidential
candidates of both the Republican and Democratic Party, such as Ben Carson, Donald Trump,
Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders, maintain a fixed position on the way they think the current tax
code should change. With all the issues and criticism the current American tax code faces there is
an ongoing debated on how it should be dealt with. This Paper will explore all four, of the
previously stated candidates tax plans

Carson s spending proposal includes securing the border (Ben Carson 2015) which would
increase the number of agents at the border and other homeland security enhancements which
could cost up to $3.7 billion per year. Additionally, he also plans to create a guest worker
program for agriculture which would involve an administrative cost $102 million because he plans
on maintaining health care protection for individuals who have pre existing conditions; this would
add an extra cost of $2.5 billion per year (Brandy 2015). While Ben Carson s Tax Plan does not
affect the simplicity of the tax system, the extra undefined expenses his revenue system faces may
affect the progressivity of the current American tax code.
On the other hand, Democratic Presidential Candidate and junior United States Senator Bernie
Sanders has no specific proposal on ordinary tax or itemized deductions; however, concerning
rates on capital gains, resulting from the sale of capital assets such as stocks, bonds or real
estate, and dividends, or profits gained by the ownership of stocks divided by its owners, he does
plan to increase the net investment income surtax to 10% (Comparing the 2016 Presidential Tax
Reform Proposals, n.d.). Sanders plan also includes the termination of the postponement of tax on
foreign income, considered as money paid on foreign taxes to a foreign country on a foreign source
income which is subject to United Sates tax

The Four Characteristics Of Emotional Intelligence
Emotional Intelligence (EQ or EI) is a term created in 1990 by two American university
professors, Peter Salovey and John D. Mayer. Daniel Goleman popularized Emotional Intelligence
in his book that was published in 1995. Goleman was a science writer for the New York Times and
he specialized in brain and behavior research. Emotional Intelligenceis defined as the ability to
recognize, understand and manage your own emotions and influence the emotions of others. This
means that we are aware that emotions can drive our behavior and impact others either positively or
negatively. Emotional Intelligenceincludes three skills: emotional awareness; the ability to harness
emotions and apply them to tasks like thinking and problem solving; and the ability to manage
emotions. According to Goleman, cognitive intelligence does not guarantee business success but
emotional intelligence . The four characteristics of emotionally intelligent people are self
awareness, self management, social awareness and social skills. In 1998, Goleman published a
book called Working with Emotional Intelligence where he defined emotional intelligence saying
that it consist of 25 skills, abilities and competencies. Compared to Intelligence Quotientor IQ is a
score received from standardized assessments designed to test intelligence. It is one s ability to
learn, understand and apply information to skills sets. It includes logical reasoning, word
comprehension and math skills. Other people debate that IQ

Berlin in the early 1930s. By the chance or fate, he meets a man on the train who gives him a tip

After an unspecified amount of time it is revealed that she is pregnant and that it is possible that

The Hours Theme
Michael Cunningham s The Hours tells the story of three women, each from different eras of
society, yet connected through the internal conflicts which they face. Laura Brown, one of the
novel s three protagonists, lives the white middle class American dream. However, throughout the
novel her mental health begins to deteriorate due to the oppressive lifestyle which she feels society
has forced upon her. The Virginia Woolf
portrayed by Cunningham, was in fact historically accurate
to the original Virginia Woolf. Wolf struggled with mental illness throughout her lifetime and the
idea of breaking the mold of traditional women s roles. Unlike Laura Brown and Virginia Woolf,
Clarissa Vaughn enjoys all of the freedoms which the late twentieth century allows, but is still left
questioning if her life of a conventional wife and mother is lacking something. Character, to some
extent is determined by destiny, however, when society places limitations on an individual s free
will, it will always create a desire to break away from the mold. Above all other characters in The
Hours, Laura Brown challenges her destiny like no other. The post war society of America in the
1950s clearly defined the roles in which women were expected to fill. Unlike most of the women
which share her similar suburban lifestyle, Laura feels dissatisfied with her life consisting of solely
marriage and motherhood. Throughout the course of the novel, Laura searches for an escape from
this traditional way of

When she enters the castle she neither sees nor hears anyone so she decides to sneakily make
her way up the jeweled staircase. She reaches the hallway at the top of the stairs and instantly
hears a familiar voice singing in one of the rooms. She runs towards it, her heart beating as fast as
it can from joy. She opens the door to the room and gasp as she sees her Proserpina sitting in the

I am just so glad I found you, I don t know what I would ve done if I couldn t find you, Ceres

Pros And Cons Of Repealing Obamacare
A somewhat impertinent question to the GOP: Were you lying the whole time about repealing
Obamacare? History has taught us that sometimes it s inflection points are difficult to discern in
the moment. Often it takes events around these points to provide context. Examining the past is
through the objective lens of hindsight makes it easy to determine these points, but not so for
those in the midst of them. However, one can use past events and the immutable laws of human
nature to look ahead and see if present events meet the standard of an historic turning point. In
the case of present events one can make an educated guess as to the consequences of the two
choices before you. At present the GOP has a choice to make with regard to the fiscal
abomination of Obamacare. It can either chose the path laid out for it by the Socialists on the
nation s Left and set a course towards historic oblivion. Or it can return to it s principled roots of
preserving liberty.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

An Analysis Of Sherman s Unorthodox Tactics Of The Civil War
Aaron Ganss
Dr. Lisa Arter
ENGL 2010: Toulmin Argument
20 July 2015
General Sherman s Unorthodox Tactics that Ended the Civil War
Scorched farms, slaughtered livestock, uprooted railway lines and cities set on fire was not typical
battle strategy previously seen on American soil. However, the Civil War was dragging on and
General William Tecumseh Shermanwas determined to finally end the fighting. The circumstances
that initiated the war created a figurative and literal divide unlike America had ever seen. The
American Civil Wartook heavy tolls on the Union and Confederate States of America. Desperate to
end the bloodshed, President Abraham Lincoln trusted Ulysses S. Grant control of the Army and
Grant authorized Sherman the freedom to do whatever necessary to bring conclusion to the
conflict (Davis 22). In the military mind of Sherman, the end justified the means and this belief is
well documented throughout his 1864 and 1865 campaign through Georgia, concluding in
Goldsboro, North Carolina (Phillips 11). Sherman despised war and the fact that America had
entered into a civil war in the first place. However, Sherman knew the conflict was unavoidable
(Meiers 26). He made the decision to follow his allegiance to the Union and eventually became the
general to lead the Armies of the Cumberland, the Ohio, and the Tennessee into the heart of Georgia
(Moody 22). During this event the wrath of general Sherman would be implanted in the South s
memories. By the use of unorthodox

Alternative Courses of Action
Free PESA Software with Purchase. Rather than regarding the PESA R D as a sunk cost, I
chose to distribute the costs to every server. The price under this route was determined to be
$2,122 (see Appendix B). The primary drawback is that a customer who would have normally
purchased the Tronn without the software would be charged a higher price ($2,122 vs. $2,000).
Continuing with the tradition and norm of free software, staff would not have to be retrained and
customers will not feel alienated. Furthermore, the one bundle price could easily be transitioned
to on line sales, and the low price will increase market share. The free software could create an
illusion of low perceived value. Finally, the lower price will result in lower profit margins, and it
does not take into consideration the value advantage received by the customer.
Competition Based Pricing. The price under this route was determined to be $3,400 (see Appendix
C). Under this route, the company will earn more profit per bundle sold. Additionally, minimal
effort is required to determine the price. However, the competition based pricing creates
indifference between the Atlantic Bundle and its competition. The higher price will also reduce
market share and could stir a pricing war.
Cost Plus. The price under this route was determined to be $2,245 (see Appendix D). Atlantic
would gain market share under this route as the price is low

Consensus In Argentine Society And The Rise Of PerГіn

Juan Domingo PerГіn and its beginnings in the Argentinean government as a prominent leader from
a military background. Later, PerГіn s constant reminder that he was not an ideologue to the
Argentineans gave him freedom to act in whichever pragmatic way that would help the country
without making people questions his intentions. Moreover, since Peron ascended to power in 1943,
he always strived to gain the popular support of the Argentineans, from sector to sector. Part II:

Santa Is Real Essay
Is Santa real? This is the one question that everyone asks at some point in their life. I have been
asking this for a long time. But I kept telling myself that he was real because I wanted him to be
real. The magical tale of Santa going to every house in one night and leaving you presents was one
of the most magical things and to know that was real was something magical.
But secretly, I had a small feeling that Santa was not real. Every year I would see more kids stop
believing in Santa and I felt like I was standing in a world of darkness which kept on getting darker
and darker each year. But I still was not ready to say that Santa was not real. I still wanted that
little bit of magic in my life during the last month of the year where all of my worries would
disappear for a minute and all I could see was Santa getting ready for Christmas up at the North Pole
.
But I knew one day the day would come where I would be told that Santa wasn t real and I would
join everyone in the world of darkness where I could not hop into Santa s magical world and be
swept away in his sled around the world.

  • 2. My Favorite Hobby I have always been a visual learner. That is why I am great at Math: Teachers usually work with the student, writing the problems on the board and solving them. It is the opposite for English: English teachers do not give examples of how to write or put ideas together. Watching someone do something is easier for me. That is how I learned to cook at such a young age. As a child, my parents never physically taught me how to cook. I would watch my Mom and Dad cook dishes that are native to them. I would watch my Dad make Adobo, filling the air with a lovely smell of salt and vinegar. I would watch my Mom make Pozole, moving in the kitchen like Taz, never stopping to rest. I would watch what ingredients they use; noticing how the ingredients, when mixed with others, created a new masterpiece. I learned to cook Mexican and Filipino foods by observing my parents. But I know how to cook more than just Mexican and Filipino foods. I know how to cook Italian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese, Spanish, American, and much more. I learned to cook these foodtypes by watching the Food Network channel. Instead of being a normal child, watching cartoons when they got home and on the weekends, I would watch the Food Network, taking mental notes of what they were cooking and the techniques they used, not realizing that I was learning. When I first started cooking, I had trouble. I burnt myself. I burnt the food. I dropped the food. I did not know what tools to use. It was a total mess; ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Through the years, different interpretations of Batman characters would emerge. The 1960 s Batman television series used a camp aesthetic, which would continue to be related to the character, years after the popular show ended. This started, in 1986 with Frank Miller s The Dark Knight Returns , a comic book series, that would bring back Batman to what he was as a character in the beginning. To help even more, the Warner Brother s Batman movie trilogy helped maintain a popular public interest in Batman, and to finally make sure his character was remember as intended. How Effectively And Appropriately Am I Performing How Effectively/Appropriately Am I Performing this/these Genre Attempt(s): Have taken detailed peer review notes; make your peer reviewer(s) go into troubleshooting detail on workshop days: Insist that they look for problems or flaws. Deal with more than sentence level issues (grammar, punctuation, etc.), but do mention those if that s an issue. Then, go beyond what the peer reviewer(s) might have said. Write also a self assessment. While I usually discourage writing a 5 paragraph essay, that might not be a bad strategy for completing this and the previous section. In their review of our PowerPoint, one thing they stated was, The only thing that we would change is the font. It seems to be very close together and difficult to read. We took these two suggestions into consideration, and decided it would be best to follow their advice and change up the font and spacing. We changed the font sizes of both the titles and subtitles to fit best for the specific slide. Each slide now has different font sizes and formatting to make it most appealing for specific slide that it is on, and it made our presentation easier to follow. Another suggestion that we received was The bullet points are not consistent throughout the PowerPoint . This was a silly mistake that would have been foolish to leave in a presentation addressing a professional audience. After looking at what our reviewers were referencing, we noticed that the bullets changed shape as the presentation progressed. This made the presentation inconsistent and we decided that it had to be changed. Changing the presentation to make the bullets consistent made our presentation appear much more professional. The final suggestion that we received on the Powerpoint from the peer review pertained to the titles of the slides. They pointed out a couple problems with our titles stating It is not necessary to capitalize words like the or of . After looking over the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Compare And Contrast The French Revolution And The... There are many similarities and differences when comparing revolutions. Most of these revolutions fall in around the same time and some had the same causes/goals. The American, French, and Haitian revolutions all took place in a span of less than 100 years. While these revolutions have much if common, they also have differences in the effect of these wars. The American revolution started in 1770 when conflict of the citizens and English broke out. Civilians opposed the English law and they believed that the taxes imposed were unfair to the people. These disagreements led many citizens to revolt leading to the protests in Boston and the Boston Tea Party. Many people in the colonies dumped crates of tea into the water to prove a point that these laws and taxes were unfair. Their goals were to have unity throughout the colonies and to be free from English law. After the French and Indian war, the residents knew they had to do something about these problems. After this war, the Treaty of Paris was signed and the colonies were officially free from England. Since the English no longer have rule over them, they had to find a new form of government. • 6. Chesapeake And New England Colonies Essay A community is a group of people who work together towards a common goal and share a common interest. Lack of such a quality can and most likely will cause a struggling town or city to fall into the extremes of poverty and wealth. The New England community was so strong and so supportive in comparison to that of the Chesapeake Bay, that it is no wonder they developed into two distinctly different cultures before the year 1700. The Chesapeake region developed into a land of plantations and money driven owners, with the elite wealthy, almost no middle class, and those in poverty creating the population. New England, on the other hand, had developed into a religion and family based society comprised of mostly middle class families by 1700.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The motives that drove the Pilgrims and Puritans away from anything familiar and the trust they placed in God only proved that they were going to make their life in the new world work, no matter what. Not everyone in England was facing a harsh persecution; many travelers came to the New World with high hopes of money, which led to numerous conflicts. It was a land for the rich to get richer. Most of the settlers bound for Virginiaand the Southern colonies had a get rich or die trying type of attitude. The only thing tearing them from home was a flimsy promise of gold that may or may not be there. The motive of such people is so radically different. There were no pacts of agreement, no common laws that kept them in a community once landing. This led the men to never develop any sense of belonging with their fellow men, causing a distinct survival society by 1700. Every man was for himself. It was a bitter game displaying the survival of the richest. The travelers from England that headed for the Chesapeake Bay were predominantly men, which led to an unbalanced society and lack of wives to promote a family based culture. The passenger list for one boat had a sex ratio of sixty four men to eleven women. Not only was there a radical imbalance, only four of the men were above forty, while only eight total were above thirty (Doc. C). That left fifty six young males headed to a new land with only their self government of a House ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The current monarch, Queen Margrethe II is very popular among the Danes and began ruling in 1972. Denmark s history started with the Viking age. The Danes conquered northern and eastern England and Christianity was introduced during this time. The Reformation fighting ended in 1536 and left the establishment of the Lutheran church headed by the monarch. Denmark lost territory and money in the Thirty Years War with Sweden. However, the Great Northern War restored Denmark s power in the Baltic. Despite some territorial losses, Denmark started to prosper economically, introducing a representative form of government and many social and educational reforms. Denmark remained neutral in the First World War and the present southern border with Germany was established. As Hitler rose to power in Germany, Denmark introduced the Great Social Reforms, continuing to prosper culturally. Denmark was occupied by Germany in World War II. • 8. Capital Punishment Is A Form Of Punishment Capital Punishment is a form of punishment used to put criminals to death for certain serious crimes. Capital Punishment has been around for many years in different variations by putting an individuals to death, because many people are afraid to die. However, over the years problems have risen about the ethical issues on whether killing someone in terms of a punishment is ethical or unethical. Therefore, since the death penalty is within the states, some states decided to opt out of being a death penalty state. The states that decided to remain as a death penalty state were those who crimeand murderrates are continually increasing over the years; however, the states that decided to opt out have low crimes rates and sees imprisonment as deterrence rather than death. The state of Kentucky is one of the states within the United States who still support the death penalty. On January 1, 1975 the death penalty was reinstated within the state of Kentucky. However, issues on whether putting someone to death is immoral and has become a leading topic in the correctional system and public. Therefore, a bill was proposed by Rep. Part A: (DfE, 2014) Figure 1 demonstrates a clear difference in the percentage of pupils meeting the expected standard in reading, writing and maths. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This may provide an explanation or causal link for the schools assessment results performance, particularly Christ Church. Yet a question is still raised as to why there is a difference in performance of the two schools, particularly when the both schools are located in the same town. (DfE, 2014) Figure 4 illustrates how both schools have a smaller than average percentage of pupils where English is not their first language (EAL). For instance, while the national average percentage is 20%, Fitzmaurice Primary School contains just 3% of EAL pupils, and Christ Church obtains an even lower percentage of 0.6%. Fitzmaurice s slightly higher percentage here may explain why the school isn t performing as successfully as pupils from Christ Church. Part B: Both figures 1 and 2 show that pupils from Christ Church are making better progress at the end of KS2 compared with pupils at Fitzmaurice and the national average. There are various causes for these differences in performance, including selected areas of deprivation and economic disparity within the town, differences in ethnic groups as well as diverse teaching methods and use of feedback. The prevailing philosophy throughout the play is existentialism. What is existentialism? Existentialism can be defined through its ontology. Ontology is the study of the nature of reality and is also called the theory of reality. The ontologyof existentialismcan be discussed in under concepts of man and existence. In the concept of man, existentialists believe that man is not bound by any antecedent human nature but rather free to determine its own nature. It opposed those deterministic theories (ex. inborn talents, predestined path of life, etc.) and favoured principle of indeterminism. To be a man is to be undetermined, to be free.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to Heidegger, man can only reflect his real self to his self. Man cannot be what he is not. He can be what he is already: his existence. He further says that humans were temporal beings. It finds itself finite because he was bound in time and the space he was experiencing. And when man finds itself finite, his existence would be doomed. But by his free will, he can overcome these threats to his existence. For Heidegger, on the one hand man is creator of his own experience and on the other hand, he is subject of his experience. If man accepts the responsibility for developing his own being then he has true human aspects in his personality. In the concept of existence, existentialists differentiate the verb to exist from the verb to live . For them, existence means a full, self conscious, responsible and growing life. Existentialists divided the concept of existence between authentic existence, and inauthentic existence. A man can live in an unauthentic existence by being a member of a group that is absorbed only in things and details of everyday life. • 12. Constitutional Law And The Criminal Justice System Essay When it comes to the United States, (U.S), the majority of the American people love their seconded amendment rights. As stated in the textbook, Constitutional Law and the Criminal Justice System by J. Scott Harr, Karen M. Hess, Christine Orthmann, the second amendment of the United States Constitution, for the most part, protects the U.S. citizens rights to keep and bear arms (Harr, Hess, Orthmann, Kingsbury, 2015, p. 167). That being said, each state in the U.S. will vary in their firearms laws. For instance, some states make it easier for their residence to purchase or use a firearm; other states may have stricter laws that require a more scrutinized screening process. To be more specific, most states vary in elements, such as the exceptions to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System, or NICS, the waiting period on purchasing firearms; if someone needs a license to own or purchase a gun; if registration is required; and if a record of the firearm sales is sent to the local police. Other factors that will differ from state to state would include, if some firearms are permitted or not allowed to be sold or owned by a state, the concealed carry laws, hunter protection laws; range protection laws, and finally, not all states have firearm injury lawsuit preemption. At the present time, the NICS principle objective is to insure that firearms do not fall under the control of individuals who wittingly abuse the privilege or mistreat others (Bureau of Alcohol, ... Pathophysiology Adhesive Capsulitis (AC) commonly known as Frozen shoulder (FS), is a condition characterised by stiffness and pain in the glenohumeral joint (GH), with limitations to both active and passive range of motion in all directions. It can arise from an injury or trauma to the shoulder and chest area or spontaneously without any obvious preceding event (Van der Zwaal, and Van de Laar, 2014: Tami, Akutsu and Yano, 2013). The shoulder also allows for scapular protraction, retraction, elevation, and depression (Quillen, Wuchner, Hatch, 2004). The primary stabilisers of the shoulder are the biceps brachii (anterior side of the arm), and tendons of the rotator cuff (supraspinatus, infraspinatus, teres minor, and subscapularis) which stabilise the joint by fusing to all sides of the capsule except the inferior margin (Tami, Akutsu and Yano, 2013). The joint capsule and the ligaments of the GH joint work together to provide passive restraint, ensuring the humeral head remains in contact with the glenoid fossa. The lateral attachment of the GH joint capsule attaches to the anatomical neck of the humerous while the glenoid and the labrum are the medial attachment points (Dutton, 2008). While Doyle employs literary techniques to express various forms of flaws and respect, Takita manipulates various cinematic techniques to convey underlying aspects of human nature. While these composers offer differing perspectives, both composers demonstrate the timelessness of discovery and its vitality for the human condition. Scott Fitzgerald Abbi Kopf 1.7.16 The Great Gossip Girl A young man desperately battling society, wealth, and rich obnoxious friends in order to win the heart of the perfect girl...is this the story of The Great Gatsby, or the CW s Gossip Girl? Both, actually: the hit TV show mirrors Fitzgerald s most famous work through parallel themes and characters. Cynical subjects such as doomed love and corruption of the upper class play a major part in both works, as well as the story of fight to surmount class and poverty. This story actually played out a couple of times over the course of Gossip Girl s intensely dramatic six seasons, but most notably between Dan Humphrey and Serena Van Der Woodsen. Dan Humphrey was the James Gatz of Gossip Girl, still struggling to become Jay Gatsby. He had a nice life with his father and sister in Brooklyn, but always dreamed about something greater. When Nick finally told the reader Gatsby s true origin story, he said, he invented just the sort of Jay Gatsby that a seventeen year old boy would be likely to invent, and to this conception he was faithful to the end (p.104). Dan and Gatsby both had an idealized, or Platonic, view of themselves and the way their lives would turn out, and they would stop at nothing to get it. I joined Academic Decathlon my junior year, and throughout my two years of involvement, I have experienced many situations which have aided me in and out of school. With the wide variety of subjects we cover in this extra curricular, I often come across the same material in other classes. Having already been introduced to this knowledge, it is easier to complete certain projects and assignments. Becoming vegan is a powerful experience, and one feels rejuvenated, both morally and physically, after acclimating to the diet, and, although the opposition claims that veganism is either detrimental or useless, the diet is, in fact, beneficial to the environment, to animals, and the individuals who follow the lifestyle. The animals themselves aren t the only ones producing pollutants, the chemical fertilizers and pesticides used in factory farms have turned agriculture into a leading source of water pollution, (para. 8). L. Baroni, of the Department of Neurorehabilitation at Villa Salus Hospital, et al., concluded that a diet higher in animal products is more detrimental to the environment than one absent of them (282). This is expounded upon by a report by the EPA that estimated that animal agriculture has polluted over 35,000 miles of American river (Sustainable Table para. 20). While the world s rivers, lakes, and oceans become more and more polluted, it becomes apparent how irresponsible it is to support the meat industry by buying their packaged flesh, because, as demand for meat increases with the world s growing population and waist line, so will the harmful emissions and slurry produced by these farms. In addition, the opposition argues that the environmental benefits of veganism are not enough for them to give up consuming animal products, and that, since they believe animals are not sentient or able to experience pain, there is no reason for them to change their ways; however, many studies have been conducted that prove animals are both intelligent, and cognizant of pain. The painting was 16 feet 1 inch by 23 feet 6 inches so it is huge in size and the dramatic impact was just as amazing. At first glance a viewer might just see people huddled on a raft together, a couple waving down a ship, and trying to get someone off canvases attention while others try to keep those who are weaker on the raft. But if they look closer they might notice other things of interest that are commonly found in Romanticism or Romantic Art. However, the Civil War was dragging on and General William Tecumseh Shermanwas determined to finally end the fighting. The circumstances that initiated the war created a figurative and literal divide unlike America had ever seen. The American Civil Wartook heavy tolls on the Union and Confederate States of America. Desperate to end the bloodshed, President Abraham Lincoln trusted Ulysses S. In the military mind of Sherman, the end justified the means and this belief is well documented throughout his 1864 and 1865 campaign through Georgia, concluding in Goldsboro, North Carolina (Phillips 11). Sherman despised war and the fact that America had entered into a civil war in the first place. However, Sherman knew the conflict was unavoidable (Meiers 26). The primary drawback is that a customer who would have normally purchased the Tronn without the software would be charged a higher price ($2,122 vs. $2,000). Continuing with the tradition and norm of free software, staff would not have to be retrained and customers will not feel alienated. Furthermore, the one bundle price could easily be transitioned to on line sales, and the low price will increase market share. The free software could create an illusion of low perceived value. Finally, the lower price will result in lower profit margins, and it does not take into consideration the value advantage received by the customer. Competition Based Pricing. The price under this route was determined to be $3,400 (see Appendix C). Under this route, the company will earn more profit per bundle sold. Additionally, minimal effort is required to determine the price. However, the competition based pricing creates indifference between the Atlantic Bundle and its competition. The higher price will also reduce market share and could stir a pricing war. Cost Plus. The price under this route was determined to be $2,245 (see Appendix D). Atlantic would gain market share under this route as the price is low ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
