Editor's Notes
Agenda
In July 2009 country singer Dave Caroll was on a United Airlines flight when his guitar was broken. They refused to pay for a new – and did not apologize. One single person can make a huge impact in social media. This example tapps into the discussion about quantity and quality in social media. Is the number of followers most important ? Or is it more important to be followed by precise target groups, that is, existing and potential customers, key-opnioin leaders and stakeholders within your business area ?

Tip for Facebook
Business page insights (analytics)
Blurred in the sense that the ads can now appear in News feed. Blurred can be good, if it’s valuable content. Blurred can be irritating if it’s a product push ad in the place where you’re used to seeing social content.
Page Post Ads are advertisements that begin as posts on a fan page but get additional paid distribution among fans, friends of fans, or non fans within News Feed or the sidebar, as a result of creating campaigns in Facebook’s ad tool, Power Editor or API.
Page Post Ads can be links, photos, videos, offers, events, questions or statuses, allowing for a lot of creative freedom. And unlike Sponsored Stories and Promoted Posts, these ads can be shown to anyone on Facebook, even if users are not connected to the page themselves or through a friend.
How are Sponsored Stories different from Facebook Ads?
Sponsored Stories are messages from your friends about them engaging with Pages, apps or events on Facebook—stories that are already eligible to be in your News Feed. An advertiser has paid to show the activity as a sponsored story so there’s a better chance you will see it.
With Facebook Ads, an advertiser creates a message they want to share and chooses who they want to reach. Ads are sometimes paired with news about actions your friends have taken (such as liking a Page or RSVPing to an event).

Tips for YouTube
Add annotations, transcripts and captions
Create your own branded channel
Embed videos in your website
Link to your site from your video descriptions
Use keyword(s) in the title and on the web page where the video is embedded
in links to the video (from other web pages and sites that you manage or have an influence over)
End the video with a “Send to a friend” option, and consider other Social sharing buttons
Use as many relevant tags as possible when you upload on YouTube, including the most relevant YouTube category
Offer the option to embed on websites to relevant people in your network
Spread the word: Encourage your network to tell people about your video via email (possibly including it in your email signature for a while, Twitter, Linkedin, Facebook, etc
Vine came first
The original Instagram app (called Burbn) had video, and now they’ve brought video back to fight it out with Vine.
With the embed feature, you get a piece of code that you can put in your website to feature your Vines and Instagram videos respectively. This offers an easy way to generate off-the-cuff informal content for your website
Naturally, you don’t want to make a video just for the sake of making a video. It should still have a relation to your communications strategy and be linked to business goals.
Quora doesn’t share its numbers, but grew 3x across all metrics this year. You need an invitation to join Quora.

Associate Blogger, Wordpress and other blog platforms, so Google+ comments appear on blog and you can share blog posts to circles, communities, etc.
Associate YouTube with Company page for better search results, video recommendations to followers, video tab on G+ page (and soon you’ll need a G+ account to comment)
Verified local business enables reviews and enhance search result appearance

Experiment with Hangouts, can be alternative to Skype, etc.
Tip for Twitter
Pin a Tweet to your profile
So if you’re an international company, you should be on Twitter. If you market primarily in Denmark, for example, where there are 150,000 Danish users and many of them are inactive (source), it really depends on whether your target audience is there.
