Central Processing Unit (CPU)
It is the BRAIN of the computer.
It carries out SOFTWARE INSTRUCTIONS.
The speed of CPU is measured in HERTZ (Hz).
It has THREE parts: main memory, arithmetic
and logic unit (ALU) and control unit (CU).
Example: Pentium, AMD

Main Memory
It is the GROUP OF CHIPS inside the processing
unit.
It is also known as IMMEDIATE-ACCESS STORE (IAS).
There are TWO types of main memory: random
access memory (RAM) and read only memory
(ROM).
FOOT NOTE:
RAM holds the programs currently running.
ROM holds boot-up program.

Secondary or backup storage
Secondary or backup can store data in a
computer system PERMANENTLY.
It is NON-VOLATILE, so data that is stored
