Song Of Solomon Father Son Relationship
Father and Son s Helluva Piss Similarities and Differences
In Song of Solomon, Toni Morrison illustrates the relationship between two Macon Dead s, father
and son. Throughout the novel, Macon II and Macon III, better known as Milkman, have bouts of
conflict and reconciliation, and with each interaction their similarities and differences are gradually
revealed. However, there is one image which reveals truths about both characters without any
interaction. Set decades apart, both father and son are set in parallel scenes, urinating in the
wilderness, in the open air. Perhaps small and seemingly unimportant, but these actions and images
can be unpacked further than face value; subtle details planted by Morrison can be used to reveal
both the similar and different character traits of Macon and Milkman. ... Show more content on

Macon stands up to do his business without any warning or asking for any sort of permission:
...and immediately, like a burglar out on his first job, stood up to pee. (PAGE) In contrast,
Milkman has to beg and plead: I have go to go to the bathroom...I have to go! (34) At the surface
level, readers might only believe that this slight difference was caused by contrasting
circumstances. But the question can be asked: what s the difference between Macon making his
own decision, versus Milkman begging for permission? Really digging deep into these images, we
notice that these images help to show how Macon seems to exercise control over himself, is able
to forge ahead into his own destiny. Whereas Milkman, at least (especially) as he s shown in his
early childhood, is hesitant to make independent decisions in

The Effects Of Eugenic Sterilization
Eugenics Sterilization, developed by an eminent scientist, Francis Galton, is the science of
improving the qualities of the human species or a human population by controlling breeding to
increase the occurrence of desirable heritable characteristic traits and decrease the occurrence of
undesirable characteristic traits or genetical defects (Bergman, 2000). Eugenic sterilizationrefers to
the involuntary sterilizationof certain categories of individuals without their need for consent by
those subjected to the procedure (Pozgar, 2012, p. 411). Eugenic Sterilization has ruined thousands
of lives and impacted individual in multiple ways.
Individuals classified as mentally deficient, feeble minded, epileptic, promiscuous, sexual
deviants, or persons classified as habitual criminals were mainly targeted (Pozgar, 2012, p. 411).
Eugenicists argued degenerate traits tainted society through the reproduction of the lowest class
and sterilization was to keep the handicapped from perpetuating themselves (Kaelber, 2014). In
addition, eugenicists also argued that feeble minded individuals were believed to be financial
burdens to society by overcrowding prisons, hospitals and living off welfare (Kaelber, 2014).
Eugenic Sterilization was seen as a way to prevent the spending of tax dollars on the feeble minded
(Kaelber, 2014). These arguments allowed Eugenics to become an acceptable practice. Advocates
believed that getting rid of the feeble minded and mentally deficient would decrease the
undesirable characteristic traits within the human gene pool and ultimately improve the human
population (Kaelber, 2014). The very first eugenic sterilization law was passed in 1919 but it
was never put to use (Kaelber, 2014). Many worried that the law was unconstitutional and there
the State feared putting it into practice (Kaelber, 2014). The landmark 1927 United States
Supreme Court case of Buck Vs. Bell served as a catalyst for many eugenic sterilization programs
across the Country (Scott, 2015). In 1929, The North Carolina General Assembly passed new
sterilization laws (Kaelber, 2014). It stated that the governing body or the responsible head of any
penal or charitable institution supported wholly or in part by the State

Business Control Mechanisms
Control Mechanisms
Control mechanisms are ways for businesses to have measures of control over their business
environment. Controls are implemented in organizations to give guidance and keep the
organization focused. McDonald s, one of the most successful fast food organizations in the world
uses multiple control mechanisms to ensure the individual success of their franchise restaurants.
Some of the controls that McDonald s uses include bureaucratic, market, product, and architectural
control. The implementation of these controls has both positive and negative effects on the
organization.
Bureaucratic control is a system by which management uses rules and regulations to control
performance. Some of the things that can be controlled in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The positive reactions of the controls from corporate are having control, consistency, and
location, location, location. Because of the research corporate does, which they do a lot of there
is a better chance of success for each restaurant. The reason for this is that what the Corporation
looks for is the location which will end up making it right from the beginning. For the franchisee
the positive aspect is that corporate has done all the homework. By them doing their homework it
has benefited them every time. They do not have to worry about the quality of supplies, or about
the shipping process. The reason for this is that again all the work has been done for them. Being
a franchisee owner has its benefits because they end up just walking in and running the business,
but it also has its negatives, the franchisee needs to do the hiring and training that need to be done.
Also they are at the mercy of the corporation looking at all the things that the franchisee owner is
doing, in other words the feeling that big brother is watching over your shoulder. Also as a
franchisee they tend to ignore many of the suggestions that are given by the corporation which
sometimes gets them in a bit of trouble.
Control mechanisms indeed give organizations measures of positive control over processes,
employees, and, hopefully, outcome. On the other hand, control mechanisms also have affects on

Total War Is A Good Prime Example Of World War Two
Definition: Resources are devoted. This was the main concept of Total War. There are many
examples of to why Total war is a good prime example of World War 2. World War 2 is known as
the quintessential of total war. Because of the levels of national mobilization and the resources for
both sides of conflicts its being contested. Also the scale for armies, air forces and more raised

Dr. Mohammad Ali paper pushes for the oral cholera vaccine that is more affordable for
everyone by presenting age and area specific to estimate cholera burden in endemic countries.
Currently, there are two pre qualified oral cholera vaccines that is effectively protected
populations at high risk of cholera. Dukoral is administered to adults and children whose is older
than six and Shanchol s immunization is given to baby whose age is less than one. By using
literature searches and disease monitoring systems such as (ProMED), to provide a detailed data
that describing the outbreak. Unsurprisingly, the number obtain by the ProMED data is about five
times higher than the number reported by the World Health Organization. However the research
carry out by Dr. Mohammad Ali cannot be generalized because for the three largest cholera
endemic countries such as India, Indonesia and China, they only take in account for the portion of
population, who lacking access to clean drinking water and sanitized facilities that had reported

The mortality rate for cholera is high if not treated immediately. Most developed countries in North
America, Europe has very low child and very low adult mortality due to high tech medical
equipment. In less developed countries, the mortality rate is tripped sometime even quadruple

How Did Texas Fight
65,000 Texans During the Civil War 65,000 Texans served in the Confederate Military, but why?
On March 2, 1861, Texas seceded from the Union, and Governor Sam Houston refused to take an
oath of loyalty to the Confederacy and he resigned. (Background Essay) Nearly one fifth of the
soldiers that fought, or between 12,000 and 15,000 of them died. (Background Essay) Then why
did Texans fight? Texans fought in the Civil War because of states rights, love for Texas
, and for
slavery. In the Civil War Texans fought because of states rights. President Lincoln stated, No state
upon its mere motion, can lawfully get out of the Union. (Document C) However, O.M. Roberts,

Texas believed they should be able to own slaves as much of the South did. In Texas the slave
population was 182,566. (Document A) Most of the South relied on agriculture and had slaves
working for them. In Texas 29% of white families owned slaves, and slaves made up 30% of the
Texas population. (Document A) Another way to tell that Texas fought for slavery is because
Texans payed a lot of money for slaves. Approximately $1,200 for one healthy male slave
(Document A) They needed more than one slave and this increased the total. Some people
believed that slaves would benefit slaves and free man. (Document B) While some justified slaves
by the experience of mankind and the revealed will of the Almighty Creator . (Document B) Slaves
cost a lot of money and without them it would be hard to tend to the land, so owners would try to
protect them from he Yanks. For example sending them up mountains to hide. (Document D) They
fought for slaves to maintain their lifestyle. Slavery is the main reason why Texans and the South

Evaluate the role of Leon Trotsky in Bolshevik success in...
Leon Trotsky played a very significant role in the Bolshevik success in the period 1917 1924.
According to A.J Koutsoukis , his contributions in the years 1917 to 1924 had been second, if not
equal to that of Lenin himself. Trotsky played a significant role in establishing Bolshevik control in
Russia. He was also very instrumental and one of the reasons for the Red Army winning the civil
war. Trotsky was regarded by his supporters as the saviour for his country for his efforts in
organising the Red Army during the Civil War. According to historian E.H Carr , Trotsky was a
great administrator, great intellectual, and a great orator... but at times was overbearing and lead to
his eventual downfall.

An army had to be organised supplied and led effectively. As leader of the Supreme Military
Council, Trotsky was able to repair the Red army from an undisciplined volunteer force without
officers, into a regular army with conscription and severe discipline imposed by former imperial
officers, and even those soldiers within the army. Trotsky undertook to conjure an army of
noticeable void. The armed forces of the old regime had vanished, and the number of men was
extremely low, and unimpressive. From slender beginnings grew the Red Army which, after two
and a half years, had five million men under arms. He introduced a regime of Terror, and he
created policies for within the army that included Anyone who incites anybody to retreat, to desert,
or to not fulfil orders will be shot .
Former officers or military specialists of the Czar regime were invited by Trotsky to act as
instructors. Political commissars were appointed to these military specialists to ensure loyalty. As a
result of this strict regime, Trotsky was able to create a united force, capable of defeating the
disorganised white forces , and thus subduing a possible threat to the new communist government.
Due to the leadership of Trotsky, the Red Armies were victorious over the Whites. The White Army
could never gain the support of the peasantry, but they could have done this by reallocating the

Essay on Dating Anxiety
Dating Anxiety
Have you ever been really stressed about something? Think of the time when you have been the
most stressed out. Multiply that to the 10th power and you have me before a date. It seems to me
dating and stress are like salt and pepper; you almost never have one without the other. Endless
anticipations flood your mind, making it almost impossible to keep a continuous train of thought.
The worst thing about dating is that you get seriously stressed out for one lousy night. It s enough
to turn a sane mind into a basket case. So much energy is put into preparing for a night that ends
up being pretty lame. One thing is for sure; dating is not worth the stress it brings. Here are some
examples of typical stresses you are faced ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Tension is filling the house so you decide to wait outside.
While waiting for your date you get ambushed by mosquitoes. Now your arms are covered in itchy
red bumps that will be nagging at you the entire evening. By the time your date finally arrives,
your hair has turned into a frizzy rat s nest from waiting in the humidity, not to mention you are in
the worst mood possible. You get in the car trying to fake a genuine smile and just when you start
to chill out and relax the next issue is faced: where to go.
Of course your date leaves this crucial decision entirely up to you. After thinking through all of
the spots you like to go to, you pick one that seems to suit you both. Unfortunately, you picked
the place where your date s ex girlfriend likes to go. So you spend the whole evening trying to
spark a good conversation as your date jealously eyeballs all the guys his ex is flirting with. After
you realize the night is not going to get any better, you get the tab and ask your date for a ride
home. Just when you think it s over and you re in the clear, you arrive at the most awkward
situation of the evening: saying goodnight.
Tradition says that there must be a kiss before the night is officially over, but there is absolutely no

Portrayal Of Women In Antigone
In the play, The Burial at Thebes Antigone, the daughter and the sister of Oedipus, is the tragic
heroine of the play. The character of Antigone is portrayed very differently as it breaks the
stereotypes of the typical portrayal of women is the society. In the first moments of the play, as
the plot develops and characters enfold, Antigone is produced as a rebel from the onset itself. Her
character is countered to her radiant sister Ismene. She was never as beautiful and as docile as her
sister Ismene but was brave, scrawny, recalcitrant, withdrawn and stubborn brat of the family. The
early plot reveals that Antigone has a boyish physique and thus curses her girlhood. She being the
antithesis of the histrionic heroine envies the beautiful Ismene. Due to these factors, Antigone has
always been complicated as a person, she grew up terrorizing Ismene as a child and refusing to
understand the limits placed on her and this attribute of her character later dominants her resulting
in tragedy. Ismene, on the other hand, is entire of this world, the object of all men s desires, so
Antigone s jealousy is justified.
After Antigone s father went into exile, Antigone and her sister were brought up in the house of
Creon. Polyneices and Eteocles are her two brothers who lead opposite sides in Thebes civil war
and get killed in the battle leaving Antigone and Ismene as the last of the Labdacus family.

expected he didn t do much. As previous Prime Ministers he didn t even visit Eritrea to meet with

horrible that a man can lose all his basic human rights for no apparent reason. His speech got
standing ovations from the 12,000 people who had come to Medborgarplatsen in Stockholm. But
besides a scripted speech that was made for Bodström to look good, nothing new happened
regarding Isaaks situation in Eritrea. Nobody even knew if he was alive anymore. There were
rumors surrounding that Isaak may have been beaten to death but Betlehem didn t listen to those

Comparing Candide And The Pursuit Of Happyness
The book and film that I have decided to compare are Candide written by Voltaire and The
Pursuit of Happyness, whose screenplay was done by Steven Conrad. The main characters in
both The Pursuit of Happyness and Candide have a very optimistic view of the world and are
searching for their own ideas of true happiness but they both go about it in two very different
ways. By the end of the book and film each character learns what it takes for them to reach their
own version of the pursuit of happiness. Although each character finds happiness in their own way
their main goals of finding out how to live a truly happy life are the same. In Candideand the Pursuit

The character Candide tries to find his happiness through the materialistic things in the world
because he believes that that s what s going to make him happy, The first day of their journey
was rather pleasant. They were heartened by the thought that they now possessed more treasure
than all of Asia, Europe and Africa could assemble (Voltaire Pg.67). Candide thinks that if he has
lots of money then somehow his life will be so much better altogether, but Candide realizes that
money is something that can go away just as fast as it came. Just because money can buy you a
lot of things its not going to necessarily make your life a happier one. Money is something that
can bring you joy but it isn t going to bring your true happiness. Joy is one of those things that s
there for a little bit but it can be taken away very easily, true happiness on the other hand is
something that stays with you. While Candide looks to materialistic things for happiness Chris

The Holy Spirit Of The Ark
Remember, I told you the Rapture is a type of ark. The first time God used an ark was to save
people that believed in Him from the destruction of water. The second time will be to save the
faithful from the destruction of fire with the ark of rapture by a Bridegroom. It has never been
God s method in the past to pour wrath out on believers! Noah and his family went inside of the
ark seven days before the flood. The ark was a covering like a huppa, which is symbolic of heaven.
The church will be raptured away just like an ancient Jewish bride would have been. The Holy Spirit
fell on the church at Pentecost after Jesusreturned to His Father s house. The Holy Spirit is the
Comforter that Jesus promised would come after His Ascension. The Holy Spirit manifested
within the body of the church, and it is the current restrainer of the antichrist. A spirit needs a
body to manifest itself in, and when the Holy Spirit filled church is gone, Satan, who is a spirit,
will be able to take over inside of the antichrist. The apostle Paul tells us this in 2Thessalonians
2:7 NASB, For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains will do so
until he is taken out of the way.

The NFL National Protests
In 2017 controversy struck when the NFL tried taking a stance and protesting the National
Anthem. In this protest, many NFL players one by one knelt down while the National Anthem
played at their sporting event. The National Anthem is a song for our country and symbol to
represent all of the men and women who have fought in our military. This song is not played just
for our entertainment, it is to honor the flag and what it stands for. The protesting was started by
Colin Kaepernick, last season, when he was the quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers. He was
the first player to take a knee during the playing of the National Anthem, now many other NFL
players this season are following in his path and doing the same thing. Many players and viewers
claim it is for police brutality and the injustice that is being served, while other viewers see it as
entitled millionaires disrespecting the flag and the military. Everyone has different opinions on the
issue, but no matter what the country needs to respect one another as humans and be united; the
American Flag is a symbol of our freedom and the NFL needs to recognize the National Anthem
rather than kneeling and disrespecting what it stands for. On one side of the controversy are the
people who agree with the protesting and kneeling for the National Anthem. Both the players and
viewers agree with the message they think is getting across. They are kneeling against police
brutality and the injustice they think is being served. In

The Fairy Tale Of Cinderella As A Love Story
So, we all know of the fictional fairy tale of Cinderella, but what if we changed the facts around
in a new order, changing the different characters rolls in the story and their apparel. Most look at
this story as a love story, but what if we changed the story to a new conspiracy of fiction. How will
these changes affect the outcome of this fairy tale? Well let s find out.
Once upon a time there was a young girl named Emma who was a kind hearted young girl, who
loved the company of her animals so much she could find comfort during difficult times. Especially
when her mother Ava passed away in dreary times. Her father William was a traveling man who
did his do dilatants of hard work and because of this fact, he was unable to be of comfort to her.
However, Emma and her father had a very strong relationship, and she understood the reason of
his long travels. She started to implode, for she no company half the time and the daily chores
were finished, she would find herself imagining a reality where Ava was still alive, and they
would convers and enjoy a hot cup of tea, where used to together by the fire place. Then she is
forced to realize she is only imagining memories. Following these episodes Emma also started to
resent her father for always being gone on is travels of business, that sometimes she caught herself
saying most unbelievable things in the back of her mind.
William, soon remarried to a very sweet and kind hearted widow Isabella with two very hateful
daughters Sophia and Abigail, who treated her very poorly with little to no respect for just how
much self sacrifice she gave for their wellbeing. For instance, Sophia and Abigail always had the
best dresses and apparel while she would take the second best. It finally came time for Emma to
meet her new step mother and sisters, when her father arrived back home from a long trip.
Emma was in no state of mind nor was she ready to let somebody else take her mothers place in
her heart. Following these events William was leaving on another business trip when he suddenly
had a severe heart attack passing away instantly. This was just three years after the passing of her
mother, so Emma was not the same person giving in to Sophia and Abigail s bossy and

War Photographer by Carol Ann Duffy is based on a war photographer who has experienced and
witnessed the reality of war. The war photographer has returned to his quite home in England from
his latest job. He develops the spools of film, he took in the frontline. As he organizes the pictures,
he remembers the terrifying situation he is in, A stranger s features faintly start to twist before his

It also indicates the ignorance of the public as they are not fully informed about the tragedy of war
so they have no idea of the circumstances of war as most photographs are not being published.
The darkness in his room, in his darkness he is finally alone , is a reflection of his depressed
feeling in remembrance of the awful events he has witnessed. The horrific experience is so long
lasting, which will dwell in his memory continually as represents by run on lines.
The simile chosen to compare the photographer with a priest preparing to intone a mass is
effective. The reader can clearly picture the inside of a catholic church in their mind, with red lights
glowing softly. It also assures that what the photographer is doing is holy and heroic as danger and
risks are involved, fields which explode beneath the feet of running children in a nightmare heat.
But the photographer still accepts the challenge.
As for the sound effect, the alliteration of the s sound, with spools of suffering set out in ordered
rows , illustrates the silent and isolated atmosphere the photographer is in the photographic studio.
With eyes rhyming with cries , it heightens our sympathy towards the victims in war as it appeals
to both the readers sense of hearing and seeing. Not only does the suffering turn out to be more

Physical Therapy ( Pt ) And Occupational Therapy
Physical therapy (PT) and occupational therapy (OT) are two careers that help people heal and
rehabilitate. PTs and OTs may seem similar at a glance, but they have just as many differences. The
job descriptions and history vary, but the salary, and requirements are fairly alike. They both take
much skill and expertise, but few people actually understand the difference between the two.
Therapy is the treatment of disease or disability through rehabilitation processes. Both physical and
occupational therapists treat patients who have injuries or disabilities. A physical therapist treats
patients with specifically physical disabilities. They help patients recuperate from pain and injuries,
and they are also a huge part of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They help theses people relearn how to perform everyday activities, like getting dressed and
brushing their teeth. PTs and OTs must both be strong, encouraging, and nurturing. For the patient,
being unable to do something is frightening, and relearning how to do certain activities can be
difficult. PTs and OTs are much needed encouragers and the quality of their work has developed
throughout the years. Since day one, physical and occupational therapy have steadily progressed
and evolved into crucial, prestigious careers. Physical therapy began around 460 BC. Hippocrates
used hydrotherapy, which uses pools or water for exercises and relief of pain, and massage
treatment. Many universities started programs for massage and physical therapy. The industry grew
during WWI because the war produced many injured soldiers who were in need of therapy. In 1921,
the American Women s Physical Therapeutic Association, later the American Physical Therapy
Association (APTA), was founded by Mary McMillan, who became known as the Mother of
Physical Therapy. The APTA official website describes the APTA as a professional membership
organization that funds and releases research and fights legal battles for PTs (Who we are).
Throughout the years, physical therapy has become a respectable career and has, and will, continue
to grow as more research and

Intelligence Between Intelligence And Psychometric Tests
Intelligence is one of the most heritable traits thus, people differ in intelligence ranges. Heritability
estimates range from 25% to 40% in early childhood to 80% in adulthood. These ranges may be in
specific domains but those who do well in one domain often do well in others, leading towards
general intelligence. In order to measure and evaluate differences in intelligence, psychometric tests
are used to cover cognitive domains. These cognitive domains are reasoning, processing speeds,
executive function, memory, and spatial ability. A definition of intelligence that is prominently
used by researchers is: Intelligence is a very general capability that, among other things, involves
the ability to reason, plan, solve problems, think abstractly, comprehend complex ideas, learn
quickly and learn from experience. It is not merely book learning, a narrow academic skill, or
test‑taking smarts. Rather, it reflects a broader and deeper capability for comprehending our
surroundings catching on , making sense of things, or figuring out what to do. Intelligence, so
defined, can be measured, and intelligence tests measure it well. Investigation of the presence of
genetic influences on general intelligence dates back to the nineteenth century, when Francis Galton
published two papers concluding that mental abilities were transmitted by heredity from one
generation to another15. Despite an intermittently hostile political reception, many studies since
then based principally on

Character Development In Red Cranes By Heber Obando
Heber Obando The different approaches that both of the authors had on the stories had a different
impact on how the characters developed throughout the story. They used different methods to show
character development. The used elements in different ways to show how their characters in the
short story develope in a different way.
Mie talking to her father about how his work is going showing the interaction with the other
characters in the story. Father, said Mie as she sat beside him, How is the work going today? Do
you think the plants will be ready to harvest in time? (Choy 2). She is going on a firefly hunt
with other people after she gets on the train that she has been on all day. She had risen early, she
had been rocked and jolted by train and automobile through the heat of the day, and in the evening
she had chased over the fields with the children, (Tanizaki1). They wanted to be silent to get to see

Honor In The Iliad
In Ancient Greece honor was important. In the Iliad it says Now be men, my friends! Courage,
come, take heart! Dread what comrades say of you here in bloody combat! When men dread
that, more men come through alive When soldiers break and run, good bye glory, good bye all
defenses! The only way Greeks believe they could earn honor was by fighting. Although fighting
for an important cause does bring honor it is not the only way humans earn honor. One way
people can receive honor comes from age. Honoring elders is a command gave us. In the book in
the Bible Leviticus is written, Stand up in the presence of the elderly, and show respect for the
aged. In this verse we are told to respect and honor elderly people. Humans in the Bible are

Evidential Basis in Epistemic Justification Essay
The Significance and Priority of Evidential Basis in Epistemic Justification
ABSTRACT:There are various approaches to epistemology as well as to the philosophy of science.
The attempt to naturalize them is the newest approach. In the naturalistic framework, epistemology
turns out to be identical with the philosophy of science. The main characteristic of both naturalized
epistemology and naturalized philosophy of science is their methodological monism. Therefore,
both of these meta level areas of philosophy pursue only one scientific discipline to be a meta
method for themselves. There are objections to naturalism on the basis that (from a methodological
point of view) naturalized philosophy is monistic. I. The Concept of (Epistemic) ... Show more

Now, the justification component of the classical definition of knowledge takes place at the
center of recent epistemology. Consequently, various epistemic justification theories as
contemporary theories of factual knowledge have been produced with respect to some different
classifications of these theories e.g. internalist theories (foundationalist and coherentist theories),
and externalist ones (probabilist and reliabilist theories): While in the former ones justification
of belief is internal, in the latter ones, external to the believer s mind/mental life. That is, internal
justification of the belief is possible by reflection upon the believer s own conscious state of
mind, i.e. upon her internal, doxastic state. In short, the justifiability of her belief is determined
by what beliefs she has, and her direct cognitive access to the justification for her belief is
required. On the other hand, in externalist justification some important feature of the belief
justification is outside the mind of the believer. The externally justifiability of a belief may be a
function of the reliability of a belief forming process, which causes that belief to be a true one, or
it may be a function of the probability of the belief. Such factors as reliability, and probability,
which play justificatory role, are external, i.e. non doxastic factors to the believer. She does not
have direct access to them, while her beliefs, as being her internal,

Unobtrusive Attitudes
Beyond Fazio et al. s (1995) intention to introduce an unobtrusive method of measuring attitudes (in
their case, prejudice against African Americans), they demonstrated the problems of reactivity and
conceptual confounding present in the frequently used Modern Racism Scale (MRS). Such
unreliability of explicit attitude measures puts the use of self reports in social psychological
research into question. Essentially, their study aimed not so much as to demonstrate how prejudice
is expressed and manifested but to provide evidence for their own method of measuring attitudes as
they are automatically activated. Central to their method is the hypothesis of facilitation:
Participants will assign positive or negative valences to presented adjectives at a shorter and
response latency (i.e. facilitated) if the adjective s valence is congruent to the evaluation
automatically activated by the prime. People are then not asked explicitly asked about their
attitudes (which is instead inferred from the pattern of facilitation), thus eliminating their tendency
to choose which responses would... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She was tasked to rate the quality of the interaction with the participants. Indeed, the unobtrusive
attitude measures correlated significantly with the experimenter s interaction ratings (based on the
friendliness and interest of the participant). However, such measure remains a form of self report
liable to subjective biases and rating errors. The researchers also offered no explanation as to
whether the experimenter had been trained on what criteria of rating was to be used. This issue
may be crucial as such ratings have been used extensively to distinguish between the unobtrusive
measure and the MRS, and to attest to the former s ability to predict actual prejudice behavior (i.e.

Use Of Forecasting Techniques For The Graduate Tuition...
This paper seeks to examine the use of forecasting techniques as it applies to the graduate tuition
rate at James Madison University. While several methods and techniques of forecasting could have
been used, I focused primarily on the Least Squares Regression technique, as it relates to
projections, to project the rates for the next ten years. Projected rates were slightly comparable to
actual rates, though, other techniques are not assumed to reduce the error of projected graduate
tuition rates.
James Madison University is a comprehensive university in the Shenandoah Valley of
Harrisonburg Rockingham County, Virginia. Since it s start in 1954, the graduate school has
focused its efforts on the education of its students at a reasonable cost. Although tuition has
risen over the years, it can be assumed that this is possibly due to the rising costs of operation. In
recent years, 2009 2014, the cost has increased by 34% ($305 to $410) for in state students.
Similarly, there has been an increase in out of state tuition by more than 20% ($890 $1095) since
2009. Due to the rate increases over the past five years, I project that the cost will continue to rise
over the years.
The aim of our forecasting is to provide information about possible future changes in tuition rates.
In general, the three approaches to forecasting, projection, prediction, and conjecture, all seek to
produce information about future trends we expect to examine in society; however, they do so in

From the beginning of time, there has always been wildlife. The animals and plants of our
wildlife contribute to what makes this life so interesting. If all wildlife were to go extinct, then
we would not have a way to replenish the oxygen to survive off of. All animals and plants are a part
of our lifecycle and should be respected as such.
The Endangered Species Act (ESA) was put in place to protect threatened and endangered animals

The Endangered Species Preservation Act of 1966 authorized the Secretary of Interior to spend
$15 million per year to purchase habitats for the species on the endangered list. This act also
required protection of these species on federal land. All land belonging to the public that was
not government was not required but were encouraged to. Many benefits have come from these
law acts that have been set in place. Recovery plans have been put into place to help our animals
and plants replenish. While doing this, exemptions can and do occur. If there is a project to be
done within a habitat of a listed species, then the ESA must notify the FWS and National Marine
Fisheries Service. Once listed species reached a level of stable existence again, they were
delisted. As of 2011, fifty one species had been delisted. Any kind of harming, wounding, or
killing is considered to be a violation. Violations of these laws have a variety of penalties. The
maximum fine is up to $50,000 or a year of imprisonment, possibly both. I do absolutely believe
this law has improved our societies and environments due to helping original life to be sustained.
These animals and plants were created to be on this earth. They did not choose to be here and did
not choose to be killed for human pleasure. This law has given these listed species another chance.

Firstly I would like to start off by mentioning I am an Engineer so my week was different than

senior, keeping my skills sharp for the merchant fleet I will soon be joining. Every time I take a
trip on the T/V Kings Pointer I am impressed at how my shipmates and I are able to safely
navigate and operate a vessel. This is a true testament to the education we receive at the
Academy and during our time at Sea. With great weather, our time in Virginia was just as
impressive when pulling into Norfolk harbor. Seeing the stern of the USS Wisconsin, as a relic
of one of the greatest vessels our American Shipyards have produced, was just icing on the cake

The Importance Of Culture In Two Kinds
Culture is something that shapes someone s mindset and beliefs, which in turn affects the way
someone views others and the world. Culture is present in society and in our lives day in and
day out. Culture affects how we act, the things we say, the way we dress, and how we live our
lives. Everyone s cultural identity is unique to them, and it is usually based off of what they are
surrounded by growing up, and how the people that they surround themselves with choose to act.
Many people take a lot of pride in their cultureand in their cultural identity, so they do whatever
they can to embrace it. However, there are also a lot of people who attempt to escape their
culture, because they are ashamed of it. In Two Kinds, Jing Mei s mother took a lot of pride in
her culture, so she chose to raise Jing Mei relatively the same as the way that she was raised
back in China. In China, there is a predetermined expectation that children will be trophy
children meaning that if you have a child, that child will be a prodigy at something. In the case
of this story, Jing Mei s mother devoted all of her time to finding something that Jing Mei was
good at. Jing Mei also grew up under pressure, fearing that she was not pleasing her parents.
Sometimes, she would enjoy doing some of the activities that she was trying, thinking it would
make her parents happy, saying I was filled with a sense that I would soon become perfect: my
mother and father would adore me . (pg. #) However,

The Characteristics Of Gothicism In Wieland, By Charles...
For years, many have felt a sense of intrigue and fascination when it comes to the paranormal.
Thousands of films, books, and television shows are based upon the premise of the supernatural
and eerie. In his novel, Wieland, Charles Brockden Brown presents a work that has chilled the
spines of readers for over 200 years. Brown presented readers of the early nation a new genre of
entertainment called Gothicism which was divergent from the literature of the past. With the new,
emerging genre, Charles Brocken Brown provided a new perspective for readers to view
characters, plot and setting. Instead of taking the safe route, and creating a set of God fearing
characters that always do the right thing, Brown diverged from the reason and logic of
Enlightenment thinkers of the 18th century and produced a story that shied away from rationality.
In his novel Wieland, Charles Brockden Browncreated a world that displayed characteristics of
Gothicism as well as anti Enlightenment thinking.
The early nation had been exposed to many classical and rigid writers who wrote to inform rather
than to entertain. When Brown emerged as the first Gothic American novelist, he as well as many
other early American authors wrote using devices such as moralization in order to upgrade fiction
(Nutter lecture). Hugh Holman explains that writers who did not hold themselves to the standard of
classical thinking wrote in an unknown and foreign nature. Romantics regarded Gothicism to be

Research Paper On The Great Pacific Garbage Patch
PLASTIC ISLANDS IN THE OCEAN
For thousands, maybe even millions, of years, marine debris has built up on these little islands in
the pacific ocean. However one may know it as the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. ?The Great
Pacific Garbage Patch spans waters from the West Coast of North America to Japan? (Great Pacific
Garbage Patch). Marine Debris is litter that ends up in oceans, and other large bodies of water. This
in turn makes the Great Pacific Garbage Patch.
The patch also includes the Western and Eastern regions between Hawaii and California. There is
also a convergence zone in which warm water and cool water meet up from the South Pacific and
the Arctic. In this zone, the debris moves from warm water to cool water. So in turn the debris is
able to move freely throughout these zones. They are also able to travel through and into the
Pacific ocean.
That leads us to our second topic, an ocean gyre. ?An ocean gyre is a system of circular ocean
currents formed by the Earth?s wind patterns and the forces created by the rotation of the planet?
(Great Pacific Garbage Patch). The gyre that we will be talking about is the one in the North Pacific
Subtropical Gyre. California, North Equatorial, Kuroshiro, and North Pacific currents interact with

fully understand the effects of consumption. When the effects of consuming organic foods are
examined, a different outcome is discovered. According to Huber, Rembialkowska, Srednicka,
Vijver (2011), a large scale study named PARSIFAL concluded: children which consumed
organic foods (regularly) showed lower allergenic rates as well as lower body weights when
compared to traditional or engineered foods (Huber, Rembialkowska, Srednicka, Vijver 2011).
With further research, other positive results are discovered. Specifically, a study produced by
Princeton reviled that consuming organic foods lowered risks from chemical contamination,
supplemental hormones, and antibiotic risks ( Greening Princeton , n.d.). In contrast to GMOs,
consuming organic foods were directly linked to positive results, which helps solidify the
argument that they are a safer and healthier option over engineered foods. This conclusion also
aids in the point of discussion (which will be reviewed below) that stricter FDA guidelines need

preparatory step. Planning is an important function of management. In the absence of planning, all
the business activities of the organization will become meaningless. It determines how and who is
going to perform a specific job. Planning is about identifying and selecting appropriate goals and
courses of action; one of the four principal take of management (Bethel University, 2006). Planning
is always done for the future. Each goal should have financial and human resources projections
associated with its completion. Each goal should have tasks or projects associated with its
achievement. Strategic planning determines where an organization is going. It serves as framework.
The most two important task that need to be done before a strategic planning. You need to review
the organization and review the internal functions within the organization.
Prioritizing goals and tasks is about ordering objectives in terms of their importance. It is clear
that planning selects the best alternative out of the many available. Strategy is a cluster of
decisions about what goals to pursue, what actions to take, and how to use resources to achieve
goals (Bethel University, 2006). Strategy is about planning to reach a vision which differentiates a
company from its competitors in a positive way. As a result of its importance to the business or
company, strategy is generally

Fighting In Hockey
Professional hockey players eat, sleep, and breathe the game. This passion breeds a rare type of
diehard fan to follow the sport. The game of hockey is over 100 years old and fighting is one
element that has kept players engaged and fans hooked throughout the years. The first indoor
hockey game was played in 1875 and the NHL was formed 42 years later in 1917. In 1922,
fighting was added to the rule book as a regulated aspect of the game. Looking at the history of
hockey shines a light on the players and fans passion for the game. Hockey fights should stay in
the game for the protection and safety of skilled players, rivalries between teams, and finally
because it s a unique part of the sport. Hockey fighting should stay in the game for... Show more

In the event that a player makes a dirty hit on a skilled player, the enforcer s role is to send a
message to the other team. For fear that a skilled player will be hurt and unable to play, an
enforcer will take matters into his own hands. As a result, skilled players feel protected and can
do their job of scoring goals more effectively. All things considered, fighters are there for
protection, not violence. Fighting as part of the game reduces injuries drastically. At the present
time, fighting in the NHL is being heavily debated and there are two very different sides to the
argument. In the meantime, with the stricter regulations against fighting, NHL injuries are at an
all time high. My coach, Kelly Chase a retired NHL enforcer says that with concussions being
such a focus in sports, only 2% of the ones in the NHL are caused by fights. The other 98% are
caused by dirty hits. In the background of the controversy, the game has evolved to where fighting
is not an enforcer s only role on the team. Beyond a reputation for being tough, an enforcer good

Rules Regulating Nutrition
I believe their should be rules regulating health and nutrition in schools. if I were a school official
I would make the rules more lenient. I would make getting a fruit or vegetable mandatory, but I
would let you choose the serving and choose only what you want to eat. there is no point in forcing
foodon children it would just waste money.
I believe making it mandatory to take a fruit and vegetable a day in school lunches influences
everyday life . have you ever remembered eating something so good and you would want to eat it
at home so you go buy it from your local supermarket and purchase it. it could be the same
circumstance at school. If the school served vegetarian lasagna that day and you thought it was

Sedentary Lifestyle In America
The sedentary lifestyle of so many Americans is really starting to concern me. The average
American now spends more than 8 hours sitting every day. Is this you? That is 122 days per year
of sitting!! I firmly believe that all this sitting is exacting a serious, and previously misunderstood,
toll on our bodies. We have moved from an active, agricultural lifestyle to one of offices and
automation. Every aspect of our day from our meals (drive thru s, delivery) to our jobs (computers)
to our home life (TV, remote controls, computers, shopping online) to our entertainment (plush
theater seats) has been tailored with one priority in mind, our comfort.
Yet, the feeling of comfort is not what people walking though our doors are describing to me.
Many (young and old) are describing what I know to be the repercussions of sedentary behavior
resulting in the muscular compensations and imbalances that follow.
We all must understand that sitting for 8 hours a day can easily put us in the category of sedentary.

lose weight or to live a healthier lifestyle (both of which are still critical) to helping them
alleviate chronic aches and pains. Many come in with a clean medical diagnosis in hand as we
are quick to run to the doctor for the quick fix. Many have X rays and/or MRI s showing healthy

effort to start moving the way we were meant to standing up and incorporating more vigorous

Garland, Kolodny s Five Stage Model Of Group Development
The clarity and effectiveness of purpose and the use of time was very well used in this meeting.
The purpose of this meeting was very clear to both this writer and seemed to be to all group
members. Group members respected that the purpose was to have meetings that were effective
enough to help themselves stay sober. The group leader was very strict on keeping the group on
task and did not allow much time for the group members to get off topic. The group discussions
truly allowed group members to understand the purpose in being in attendance at each meeting.
The time allotted for the meeting was perfect. The hour long session left just enough time for each
portion of the meeting to be completed, but did not leave extra time where the group leader
struggled to come up with discussion or activities for the group members to participate in. The use
of time was very effective and clear to both the group leaders and group members.
X.Assessment of the stage of the group s development. (Use Garland, Jones, Kolodny s Five Stage
Model of Group Development). Cite examples to support your assessment.
The group was at the level identified as differentiation by the Garland, Jones, and
Kolondy model. Differentiation is defined as the following by Zastrow (2015): During the fourth
stage, differentiation, members are freer to experiment with new and alternative behavior patterns
because they recognize individual rights and needs, and they communicate more effectively.

The Black Panther Party And The Civil Rights Movement
By 1966, 32% of African Americans were living below the poverty line, and almost 2/3 of
people living in poor urban areas were Black. The Black Panther Party was a socialist and Black
nationalist organization that was founded 51 years ago to address these issues among others.
The organization, which had a far left political position, lasted for merely 16 years and its
influence continues to impact the world up till this day. It was the largest Black revolutionary
organization to ever exist. Founded by Bobby Seale and Huey Newton, the party began in
October 1966 in Oakland, California. The BPP s original purpose was to protect fellow citizens
against police brutality in African American neighborhoods. Marked by social service programs,...

Newton was a political activist who earned a Ph.D. in social philosophy. The duo met at Meritt
Junior College in West Oakland, California and both were part of the Soul Students Advisory
Committee. Ultimately, their experiences and stances, along with the ideology of Malcolm X,
influenced the Black Panther Party platform. In October of 1966, Seale and Newton sat down and
wrote their first program for the party. The 10 Point Program, titled What We Want, What We
Believe, demands freedom, full employment, guaranteed income, justice of racial robbery, decent
living, better education, black men to be exempt from military service, end of police brutality, and
the release of black men in jail due to unfair or lack of trials. The 10th point sets it demands out

to a revolutionary stance in the beginning of the party. In 1966 we called ourselves a Black
Nationalist Party because we thought nationhood was the answer, says Newton, ...shortly after we
decided that what was really needed was revolutionary nationalism, that is, nationalism plus
socialism. According to the Socialist Alternative, the BPP grew to 5,000 party workers at its peak
in the late 1960s, and organized 45 branches across the country. The party took

Essay Tsarism in Russia
Tsarism in Russia
Although the 1905 Revolution did not bring Tsarism to its demise, it had important consequences
on Tsarism. It illuminates the problems of Russian society and exposed the government s
weaknesses. Nevertheless, the Tsar managed to suppress his opponents and appeased the masses,
saving his regimes from collapse. However, this security was only temporarily as the root of Russia
s problems were not solved and WWI in 1914 was the last straw for the decaying regime. Hence, I
agree with the statement to a large extent.
The inherent problems in Russian society were never dealt with properly by the Tsar. The peasants

By the October Manifesto, the Tsar allowed the formation of an elected legislative assembly, the
Duma. Technically, this would mean that the Tsar had to share his autocratic power with his people
and by inviting opposition into the government, he may be endangering his status. However, this
was not the case. Ironically, it helped strengthened the Tsar s power. The forming of the Duma
appeased the liberals and satisfied their appetite for reforms, hence they are willing to cooperate
with the Tsar rather than confront Tsarism directly. In addition, the Duma did not reduce the Tsar
s power. Not only did the Duma had limited powers to begin with, it was subjected to the whims
and fancy if the Tsar. The Tsar could dissolve the Duma should he not like their proposals and
they could only give suggestions to the Tsar. The Fundamental Laws passed in April 1906 decreed
theta the Tsar had absolute power and the last say in all matters, hence, the Tsar had not lose any of
his power and with his absolute authority, he could do all that he can to secure his rule.
The Tsar bought over the peasants by the November Manifesto in which he pledged to
progressively reduce and then abolish the mortgage repayments of their lands. Economic reforms

Analysis Of The Story The Story Of An Hour By Kate Chopin
Death is the wish of some, relief of many, and the end of all. Death, which is often seen as a great
evil, can sometimes be seen as something for the greater good of someone. To many, death is a
liberator and a comforter. It is a journey we ll all have to embark, sooner or later. Death can be the
beginning of the end to many people, an event which can bring everlasting happiness, but also a
shattering sadness. The short storyThe Story of an Hour, by Kate Chopin, which was published in
1894, presents a not so common viewpoint of death. One could say that this story has brought
about a brief renewing love for life with one of the main characters. On the other hand, The
Moths by Helena Maria Viramontes shows a painful reaction to death, that is quite relatable to
what one may usually experience. The death in The Moths can be looked at as a moment of
grief in pain, but also a moment for maturity and rebirth. Moreover, The Story of an Hour depicts
death as a problem solver and something that can bring unimaginable amounts of freedom. Death
can be looked at as perhaps a sort of liberation that can bring about a renewal for life. In other
aspects, death can be viewed as a moment of grief and pain. Lastly, death may work as a spark
which brings another loved one back into your life.
Renewing love for life and freedom are two things that many suddenly feel once they ve finished
grieving from the loss of a loved one. As seen in Chopin s The Story of an Hour the main

Annotation Reflection
Over the course of the year, I have annotated countless short stories, articles, reviews, and novels.
Coming into the class in September, I had little to no knowledge of the numerous intricacies that
contribute to effectively annotating a piece of written work. Over time, I have learned much more
about how I like to read and write. The constant repetition of annotating articles has helped me to
improve the quality of said annotations, to a point today where I can say I have found the best
personal method for annotating so far. This did not come instantly, and was a learning process led
by various assignments, essential questions, and complex articles. The first phase of my
annotations experience can be characterized simply as unorganized.... Show more content on

American Civilization by Ralph Waldo Emerson is not only a revolutionary manifesto for its ideas,
but was also revolutionary for my annotations. I experimented with a new method that addressed
the problems identified in the past, and it worked wonderfully. I gave a short summary of every
paragraph in the margins, mainly focusing on the essential questions of the unit as well as trying
to interpret the meaning of the article. To my surprise, this was extraordinarily helpful the next
day when we discussed the article, because not only did it give me a detailed road map of the
article, it also forced me to closely read each paragraph for its basic meaning and connection to the
essential questions. While I had found the method I liked, I needed to address the problems of
actually annotating too much. I annotated too many phrases and summarizing every paragraph was
frankly unnecessary. In my annotations of On The Duty of Civil Disobedience by Henry David
Thoreau, I employed the same strategies that were used in American Civilization, except I
amended the problems. My annotating is much more selective, and as a result, the more
important phrases stand out. Also, the short summaries of paragraphs are not on every single
one. Only the paragraphs that warrant an explanation are summarized and explained in order to
keep my annotations concise. The two or three most important paragraphs on each page were
chosen to be summarized and explained in regard to the essential questions. They make logical
sense out of context, and I can flip to any page in the article and be able to explain what it is
generally about. This fulfills what I am looking for in my annotations; a way to provoke me to
think deeper as I am reading as well as an efficient method of referencing the article after it has
been read. This can help me to better

How Managers Effectively Deal With Cross Cultural Issues
Subject 3 : Discuss how managers effectively deal with cross cultural issues in the workplace.
INTRODUCTION
As the world economy is becoming more and more international, it has now become essential to
know how to interact with people coming from some other countries. Nowadays most of growing
companies are treating with partners abroad but some of them are facing communication problems.
Cross cultural communication consist in a field of study that looks at how people from different
cultural background communicate. In our essay we will see in what extent dealing with a
multucural team is apparently a drain, then we will list the different methods that managers can use
to solve these issues and finally see how a multicultural team can becomes a gain when it is well
managed.
Apparently a drain
Communicating with people from different cultures, having different norms and habits is difficulty
that everybody has to face. We all have been educated in different places and had different
influences that made of us the persons we are today. This different experiences we had gave us
various references and codes. All these different codes leads to misunderstanding.
We identify two different ways of communication, verbal and non verbal communication.
Verbal communication is a communication using verbs, voice and language.
Non verbal communication refers В« to a variety of ways to send a message without the use of
verbal words. It is both intentional or unintentional В»

The Effects Of Post Traumatic Stress On Brain Functioning
Hypothesis and Aims
The aim of this study is to assess the effects of post traumatic stress on brain functioning, in
particular executive functioning and information processing of children and adolescents. This study
also aims to evaluate prazosin as a treatment for post traumatic stress disorder in children and
adolescents. Specifically, the study focuses on the treatment of sleep disturbances such as insomnia,
nightmares and altered sleep schedules. The hypotheses of this study is that the subjects with PTSD
will perform weaker in the tasks given compared to healthy subjects, and that prazosin will improve
their sleep cycles and overall conditions.

In normal brain functioning and NE levels, alpha 2 receptors are strongly stimulated and PFC
performance is enhanced, whilst amygdala function is reduced. By blocking alpha 1 receptors or
stimulating alpha 2 receptors, stress symptoms can be relieved. Because of this, alpha 1 receptor
antagonists and alpha 2 receptor stimulants have been explored for the treatment of PTSD. A
successful alpha 1 receptor antagonist that has been used in various studies of PTSD treatment in
adults is prazosin. Several studies have shown that prazosin significantly reduces symptoms of
PTSD in adults, nightmares and sleep disturbance in particular, and improved the overall wellbeing
of patients (5 10).
There have been no trials for the effects of prazosin on children and young adolescents. However
there are a few case reports of the successful treatment of PTSD symptoms on young individuals as
an adjunctive treatment or alone, and with comorbid conditions (11 15). These cases involved a
seven year old child (14), two fifteen year olds (11,15) and three sixteen year olds (12,13,15). These
cases all involved patients with sleep difficulties and insomnia due to nightmares and avoidance
behaviours. Some patients underwent psychotherapy treatments which ultimately failed to alleviate
their symptoms, and so prazosin was prescribed. Others had very severe conditions, some of which
subsided following psychotherapy and pharmacotherapy, but still possessed

Nintendo has dominated the console market with their first handheld gaming device called
Gameboy, having sold over 150 million units, and continuing to create more handheld ones. Games
have also become easily accessible on smart phones, following the trend of portability. According
to research conducted by the Entertainment Software Association (ESA), 43% of gamers play
games on their smartphones, and 25% play on a wireless device. Video gameconsoles have
drastically improved since the 1970s, having become lighter, faster, and more interactive. All of
these improvements were made possible by the advancements in hardware.
Although the hardware from the 1970s is incredibly inferior to what we have today, the consoles
we use today are still put together in a similar fashion. When the Atari 2600 was released, it had
no hard drive to save programs to, barely any RAM, and the game cartridges only had about two
to four kilobytes of memory (McCall para. 4). To put that in perspective, a trillion kilobytes is
equal to exactly one gigabyte. That is virtually nothing. Back in the 70s, the graphics were not
good because thats all the computing power that was available back then. Simple games with
pixellated graphics took up all the space in the hardware. Gaming controllers had to be simple
because the games lacked the

Theism in a Postmodern World
Theism in a Postmodern World by Billy Bush Religious Worldviews RELS 402 Professor W. C.
Calhoun June 22, 2009 Abstract In today s postmodern world, ideals of being consumed with
self and self appropriated ideas of truth leave God forgotten and to them, God is dead. This same
thought process see s no reason or logic to bring God into the picture let alone into their lives. The
pervasive postmodern worldview today includes precepts such that self decides who we become, as
well as, is not necessary to have a God who should be in control of our lives. It is difficult for a

(John 3:16, NIV). Many people ask If God is just, why is there evil? (Forte, 2003). The answer to
this is simple, evil exists because humans choose to disobey and fall into sin. The disobedience
of man is the original cause and current cause of evil in this world, not God.Christian theism
includes what happens to a person when they die. For each person death is either the gate to life
with God and His people or the gate to eternal separation from the only thing that will ultimately
fulfill human aspirations (Sire, 2004). Inevitably, there are only two destination choices; either
we will go to heaven or hell. Hell was not only created by God for Satan and those angels who
chose to defy God s will but also for those who have chosen to reject Christ s love and to follow
Him.Christian theism defines how ethics relates to the role of humans. Ethics is transcendent
and is based on the character of God as good [holy and loving] (Sire, 2004). Theism teaches the
universe is moral and there is an absolute standard by which we should all judge things. God is
the standard and all issues should be judged next to His standard.Christian Theism teaches us,
History is linear, a meaningful sequence of events leading to the fulfillment of God s purposes for
humanity (Sire, 2004). History, as we know, began when God created this world. History is not
simply a story seen as possibly or potentially true, depending upon from who

  • 2. Song Of Solomon Father Son Relationship Father and Son s Helluva Piss Similarities and Differences In Song of Solomon, Toni Morrison illustrates the relationship between two Macon Dead s, father and son. Throughout the novel, Macon II and Macon III, better known as Milkman, have bouts of conflict and reconciliation, and with each interaction their similarities and differences are gradually revealed. However, there is one image which reveals truths about both characters without any interaction. Set decades apart, both father and son are set in parallel scenes, urinating in the wilderness, in the open air. Perhaps small and seemingly unimportant, but these actions and images can be unpacked further than face value; subtle details planted by Morrison can be used to reveal both the similar and different character traits of Macon and Milkman. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Macon stands up to do his business without any warning or asking for any sort of permission: ...and immediately, like a burglar out on his first job, stood up to pee. (PAGE) In contrast, Milkman has to beg and plead: I have go to go to the bathroom...I have to go! (34) At the surface level, readers might only believe that this slight difference was caused by contrasting circumstances. But the question can be asked: what s the difference between Macon making his own decision, versus Milkman begging for permission? Really digging deep into these images, we notice that these images help to show how Macon seems to exercise control over himself, is able to forge ahead into his own destiny. Whereas Milkman, at least (especially) as he s shown in his early childhood, is hesitant to make independent decisions in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Effects Of Eugenic Sterilization Eugenics Sterilization, developed by an eminent scientist, Francis Galton, is the science of improving the qualities of the human species or a human population by controlling breeding to increase the occurrence of desirable heritable characteristic traits and decrease the occurrence of undesirable characteristic traits or genetical defects (Bergman, 2000). Eugenic sterilizationrefers to the involuntary sterilizationof certain categories of individuals without their need for consent by those subjected to the procedure (Pozgar, 2012, p. 411). Eugenic Sterilization has ruined thousands of lives and impacted individual in multiple ways. Individuals classified as mentally deficient, feeble minded, epileptic, promiscuous, sexual deviants, or persons classified as habitual criminals were mainly targeted (Pozgar, 2012, p. 411). Eugenicists argued degenerate traits tainted society through the reproduction of the lowest class and sterilization was to keep the handicapped from perpetuating themselves (Kaelber, 2014). In addition, eugenicists also argued that feeble minded individuals were believed to be financial burdens to society by overcrowding prisons, hospitals and living off welfare (Kaelber, 2014). Eugenic Sterilization was seen as a way to prevent the spending of tax dollars on the feeble minded (Kaelber, 2014). These arguments allowed Eugenics to become an acceptable practice. Advocates believed that getting rid of the feeble minded and mentally deficient would decrease the undesirable characteristic traits within the human gene pool and ultimately improve the human population (Kaelber, 2014). The very first eugenic sterilization law was passed in 1919 but it was never put to use (Kaelber, 2014). Many worried that the law was unconstitutional and there the State feared putting it into practice (Kaelber, 2014). The landmark 1927 United States Supreme Court case of Buck Vs. Bell served as a catalyst for many eugenic sterilization programs across the Country (Scott, 2015). In 1929, The North Carolina General Assembly passed new sterilization laws (Kaelber, 2014). It stated that the governing body or the responsible head of any penal or charitable institution supported wholly or in part by the State ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Controls are implemented in organizations to give guidance and keep the organization focused. McDonald s, one of the most successful fast food organizations in the world uses multiple control mechanisms to ensure the individual success of their franchise restaurants. Some of the controls that McDonald s uses include bureaucratic, market, product, and architectural control. The positive reactions of the controls from corporate are having control, consistency, and location, location, location. Because of the research corporate does, which they do a lot of there is a better chance of success for each restaurant. The reason for this is that what the Corporation looks for is the location which will end up making it right from the beginning. For the franchisee the positive aspect is that corporate has done all the homework. By them doing their homework it has benefited them every time. They do not have to worry about the quality of supplies, or about the shipping process. The reason for this is that again all the work has been done for them. Being a franchisee owner has its benefits because they end up just walking in and running the business, but it also has its negatives, the franchisee needs to do the hiring and training that need to be done. Also they are at the mercy of the corporation looking at all the things that the franchisee owner is doing, in other words the feeling that big brother is watching over your shoulder. Also as a franchisee they tend to ignore many of the suggestions that are given by the corporation which sometimes gets them in a bit of trouble. Control mechanisms indeed give organizations measures of positive control over processes, employees, and, hopefully, outcome. On the other hand, control mechanisms also have affects on ... Former officers or military specialists of the Czar regime were invited by Trotsky to act as instructors. Political commissars were appointed to these military specialists to ensure loyalty. As a result of this strict regime, Trotsky was able to create a united force, capable of defeating the disorganised white forces , and thus subduing a possible threat to the new communist government. The character of Antigone is portrayed very differently as it breaks the stereotypes of the typical portrayal of women is the society. In the first moments of the play, as the plot develops and characters enfold, Antigone is produced as a rebel from the onset itself. Her character is countered to her radiant sister Ismene. She was never as beautiful and as docile as her sister Ismene but was brave, scrawny, recalcitrant, withdrawn and stubborn brat of the family. The early plot reveals that Antigone has a boyish physique and thus curses her girlhood. She being the antithesis of the histrionic heroine envies the beautiful Ismene. Due to these factors, Antigone has always been complicated as a person, she grew up terrorizing Ismene as a child and refusing to understand the limits placed on her and this attribute of her character later dominants her resulting in tragedy. Ismene, on the other hand, is entire of this world, the object of all men s desires, so Antigone s jealousy is justified. After Antigone s father went into exile, Antigone and her sister were brought up in the house of Creon. Polyneices and Eteocles are her two brothers who lead opposite sides in Thebes civil war and get killed in the battle leaving Antigone and Ismene as the last of the Labdacus family. Comparing Candide And The Pursuit Of Happyness The book and film that I have decided to compare are Candide written by Voltaire and The Pursuit of Happyness, whose screenplay was done by Steven Conrad. The main characters in both The Pursuit of Happyness and Candide have a very optimistic view of the world and are searching for their own ideas of true happiness but they both go about it in two very different ways. By the end of the book and film each character learns what it takes for them to reach their own version of the pursuit of happiness. Candide thinks that if he has lots of money then somehow his life will be so much better altogether, but Candide realizes that money is something that can go away just as fast as it came. The second time will be to save the faithful from the destruction of fire with the ark of rapture by a Bridegroom. It has never been God s method in the past to pour wrath out on believers! Noah and his family went inside of the ark seven days before the flood. The ark was a covering like a huppa, which is symbolic of heaven. The church will be raptured away just like an ancient Jewish bride would have been. The Holy Spirit fell on the church at Pentecost after Jesusreturned to His Father s house. The Holy Spirit is the Comforter that Jesus promised would come after His Ascension. The Holy Spirit manifested within the body of the church, and it is the current restrainer of the antichrist. In this protest, many NFL players one by one knelt down while the National Anthem played at their sporting event. The National Anthem is a song for our country and symbol to represent all of the men and women who have fought in our military. This song is not played just for our entertainment, it is to honor the flag and what it stands for. The protesting was started by Colin Kaepernick, last season, when he was the quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers. He was the first player to take a knee during the playing of the National Anthem, now many other NFL players this season are following in his path and doing the same thing. Many players and viewers claim it is for police brutality and the injustice that is being served, while other viewers see it as entitled millionaires disrespecting the flag and the military. Everyone has different opinions on the issue, but no matter what the country needs to respect one another as humans and be united; the American Flag is a symbol of our freedom and the NFL needs to recognize the National Anthem rather than kneeling and disrespecting what it stands for. But the photographer still accepts the challenge. As for the sound effect, the alliteration of the s sound, with spools of suffering set out in ordered rows , illustrates the silent and isolated atmosphere the photographer is in the photographic studio. • 23. Intelligence Between Intelligence And Psychometric Tests Intelligence is one of the most heritable traits thus, people differ in intelligence ranges. Heritability estimates range from 25% to 40% in early childhood to 80% in adulthood. These ranges may be in specific domains but those who do well in one domain often do well in others, leading towards general intelligence. In order to measure and evaluate differences in intelligence, psychometric tests are used to cover cognitive domains. These cognitive domains are reasoning, processing speeds, executive function, memory, and spatial ability. A definition of intelligence that is prominently used by researchers is: Intelligence is a very general capability that, among other things, involves the ability to reason, plan, solve problems, think abstractly, comprehend complex ideas, learn quickly and learn from experience. It is not merely book learning, a narrow academic skill, or test‑taking smarts. Rather, it reflects a broader and deeper capability for comprehending our surroundings catching on , making sense of things, or figuring out what to do. Intelligence, so defined, can be measured, and intelligence tests measure it well. Investigation of the presence of genetic influences on general intelligence dates back to the nineteenth century, when Francis Galton published two papers concluding that mental abilities were transmitted by heredity from one generation to another15. Evidential Basis in Epistemic Justification Essay The Significance and Priority of Evidential Basis in Epistemic Justification ABSTRACT:There are various approaches to epistemology as well as to the philosophy of science. The attempt to naturalize them is the newest approach. In the naturalistic framework, epistemology turns out to be identical with the philosophy of science. The main characteristic of both naturalized epistemology and naturalized philosophy of science is their methodological monism. Therefore, both of these meta level areas of philosophy pursue only one scientific discipline to be a meta method for themselves. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Now, the justification component of the classical definition of knowledge takes place at the center of recent epistemology. Consequently, various epistemic justification theories as contemporary theories of factual knowledge have been produced with respect to some different classifications of these theories e.g. internalist theories (foundationalist and coherentist theories), and externalist ones (probabilist and reliabilist theories): While in the former ones justification of belief is internal, in the latter ones, external to the believer s mind/mental life. That is, internal justification of the belief is possible by reflection upon the believer s own conscious state of mind, i.e. upon her internal, doxastic state. In short, the justifiability of her belief is determined by what beliefs she has, and her direct cognitive access to the justification for her belief is required. On the other hand, in externalist justification some important feature of the belief justification is outside the mind of the believer. The externally justifiability of a belief may be a function of the reliability of a belief forming process, which causes that belief to be a true one, or it may be a function of the probability of the belief. Such factors as reliability, and probability, which play justificatory role, are external, i.e. non doxastic factors to the believer. Unobtrusive Attitudes Beyond Fazio et al. s (1995) intention to introduce an unobtrusive method of measuring attitudes (in their case, prejudice against African Americans), they demonstrated the problems of reactivity and conceptual confounding present in the frequently used Modern Racism Scale (MRS). Such unreliability of explicit attitude measures puts the use of self reports in social psychological research into question. Essentially, their study aimed not so much as to demonstrate how prejudice is expressed and manifested but to provide evidence for their own method of measuring attitudes as they are automatically activated. Central to their method is the hypothesis of facilitation: Participants will assign positive or negative valences to presented adjectives at a shorter and response latency (i.e. facilitated) if the adjective s valence is congruent to the evaluation automatically activated by the prime. People are then not asked explicitly asked about their attitudes (which is instead inferred from the pattern of facilitation), thus eliminating their tendency to choose which responses would... The researchers also offered no explanation as to whether the experimenter had been trained on what criteria of rating was to be used. • 30. Use Of Forecasting Techniques For The Graduate Tuition... This paper seeks to examine the use of forecasting techniques as it applies to the graduate tuition rate at James Madison University. While several methods and techniques of forecasting could have been used, I focused primarily on the Least Squares Regression technique, as it relates to projections, to project the rates for the next ten years. Projected rates were slightly comparable to actual rates, though, other techniques are not assumed to reduce the error of projected graduate tuition rates. James Madison University is a comprehensive university in the Shenandoah Valley of Harrisonburg Rockingham County, Virginia. Since it s start in 1954, the graduate school has focused its efforts on the education of its students at a reasonable cost. Although tuition has risen over the years, it can be assumed that this is possibly due to the rising costs of operation. In recent years, 2009 2014, the cost has increased by 34% ($305 to $410) for in state students. Similarly, there has been an increase in out of state tuition by more than 20% ($890 $1095) since 2009. Due to the rate increases over the past five years, I project that the cost will continue to rise over the years. The aim of our forecasting is to provide information about possible future changes in tuition rates. In general, the three approaches to forecasting, projection, prediction, and conjecture, all seek to produce information about future trends we expect to examine in society; however, they do so in various ... Many benefits have come from these law acts that have been set in place. Recovery plans have been put into place to help our animals and plants replenish. • 32. T-V-Pointer Experience Firstly I would like to start off by mentioning I am an Engineer so my week was different than the rest of my shipmates however, I think the trip was an invaluable resource, especially as a senior, keeping my skills sharp for the merchant fleet I will soon be joining. Every time I take a trip on the T/V Kings Pointer I am impressed at how my shipmates and I are able to safely navigate and operate a vessel. This is a true testament to the education we receive at the Academy and during our time at Sea. With great weather, our time in Virginia was just as impressive when pulling into Norfolk harbor. Seeing the stern of the USS Wisconsin, as a relic of one of the greatest vessels our American Shipyards have produced, was just icing on the cake compared to the Countless US Naval destroyers and cruisers and aircraft carriers we passed while transiting the Chesapeake bay and Elizabeth river. The best part of it all was seeing the US Merchant fleet at its finest with the bustling ports of the tidewater... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The US Merchant Marine Academy is defiantly a unique experience and it is not just for anyone. Culture is present in society and in our lives day in and day out. Culture affects how we act, the things we say, the way we dress, and how we live our lives. Everyone s cultural identity is unique to them, and it is usually based off of what they are surrounded by growing up, and how the people that they surround themselves with choose to act. Many people take a lot of pride in their cultureand in their cultural identity, so they do whatever they can to embrace it. However, there are also a lot of people who attempt to escape their culture, because they are ashamed of it. In Two Kinds, Jing Mei s mother took a lot of pride in her culture, so she chose to raise Jing Mei relatively the same as the way that she was raised back in China. In China, there is a predetermined expectation that children will be trophy children meaning that if you have a child, that child will be a prodigy at something. In the case of this story, Jing Mei s mother devoted all of her time to finding something that Jing Mei was good at. Jing Mei also grew up under pressure, fearing that she was not pleasing her parents. • 36. The Characteristics Of Gothicism In Wieland, By Charles... For years, many have felt a sense of intrigue and fascination when it comes to the paranormal. Thousands of films, books, and television shows are based upon the premise of the supernatural and eerie. In his novel, Wieland, Charles Brockden Brown presents a work that has chilled the spines of readers for over 200 years. Brown presented readers of the early nation a new genre of entertainment called Gothicism which was divergent from the literature of the past. With the new, emerging genre, Charles Brocken Brown provided a new perspective for readers to view characters, plot and setting. Instead of taking the safe route, and creating a set of God fearing characters that always do the right thing, Brown diverged from the reason and logic of Enlightenment thinkers of the 18th century and produced a story that shied away from rationality. In his novel Wieland, Charles Brockden Browncreated a world that displayed characteristics of Gothicism as well as anti Enlightenment thinking. The early nation had been exposed to many classical and rigid writers who wrote to inform rather than to entertain. When Brown emerged as the first Gothic American novelist, he as well as many other early American authors wrote using devices such as moralization in order to upgrade fiction (Nutter lecture). Hugh Holman explains that writers who did not hold themselves to the standard of classical thinking wrote in an unknown and foreign nature. Romantics regarded Gothicism to be foreign, ...and to ... Research Paper On The Great Pacific Garbage Patch PLASTIC ISLANDS IN THE OCEAN For thousands, maybe even millions, of years, marine debris has built up on these little islands in the pacific ocean. However one may know it as the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. ?The Great Pacific Garbage Patch spans waters from the West Coast of North America to Japan? (Great Pacific Garbage Patch). Marine Debris is litter that ends up in oceans, and other large bodies of water. This in turn makes the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. The patch also includes the Western and Eastern regions between Hawaii and California. There is also a convergence zone in which warm water and cool water meet up from the South Pacific and the Arctic. In this zone, the debris moves from warm water to cool water. So in turn the debris is able to move freely throughout these zones. They are also able to travel through and into the Pacific ocean. That leads us to our second topic, an ocean gyre. ?An ocean gyre is a system of circular ocean currents formed by the Earth?s wind patterns and the forces created by the rotation of the planet? When the effects of consuming organic foods are examined, a different outcome is discovered. According to Huber, Rembialkowska, Srednicka, Vijver (2011), a large scale study named PARSIFAL concluded: children which consumed organic foods (regularly) showed lower allergenic rates as well as lower body weights when compared to traditional or engineered foods (Huber, Rembialkowska, Srednicka, Vijver 2011). With further research, other positive results are discovered. Specifically, a study produced by Princeton reviled that consuming organic foods lowered risks from chemical contamination, supplemental hormones, and antibiotic risks ( Greening Princeton , n.d.). In contrast to GMOs, consuming organic foods were directly linked to positive results, which helps solidify the argument that they are a safer and healthier option over engineered foods. This conclusion also aids in the point of discussion (which will be reviewed below) that stricter FDA guidelines need to be emplaced to protect American citizens from unknowingly consuming GMO products; which could have possibly dangerous, unknown long term side effects. • 50. Analysis Of The Story The Story Of An Hour By Kate Chopin Death is the wish of some, relief of many, and the end of all. Death, which is often seen as a great evil, can sometimes be seen as something for the greater good of someone. To many, death is a liberator and a comforter. It is a journey we ll all have to embark, sooner or later. Death can be the beginning of the end to many people, an event which can bring everlasting happiness, but also a shattering sadness. The short storyThe Story of an Hour, by Kate Chopin, which was published in 1894, presents a not so common viewpoint of death. One could say that this story has brought about a brief renewing love for life with one of the main characters. On the other hand, The Moths by Helena Maria Viramontes shows a painful reaction to death, that is quite relatable to what one may usually experience. The death in The Moths can be looked at as a moment of grief in pain, but also a moment for maturity and rebirth. Moreover, The Story of an Hour depicts death as a problem solver and something that can bring unimaginable amounts of freedom. Death can be looked at as perhaps a sort of liberation that can bring about a renewal for life. In other aspects, death can be viewed as a moment of grief and pain. Lastly, death may work as a spark which brings another loved one back into your life. Renewing love for life and freedom are two things that many suddenly feel once they ve finished grieving from the loss of a loved one. As seen in Chopin s The Story of an Hour the main ... Coming into the class in September, I had little to no knowledge of the numerous intricacies that contribute to effectively annotating a piece of written work. Over time, I have learned much more about how I like to read and write. The constant repetition of annotating articles has helped me to improve the quality of said annotations, to a point today where I can say I have found the best personal method for annotating so far. This did not come instantly, and was a learning process led by various assignments, essential questions, and complex articles. The first phase of my annotations experience can be characterized simply as unorganized.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... American Civilization by Ralph Waldo Emerson is not only a revolutionary manifesto for its ideas, but was also revolutionary for my annotations. I experimented with a new method that addressed the problems identified in the past, and it worked wonderfully. I gave a short summary of every paragraph in the margins, mainly focusing on the essential questions of the unit as well as trying to interpret the meaning of the article. To my surprise, this was extraordinarily helpful the next day when we discussed the article, because not only did it give me a detailed road map of the article, it also forced me to closely read each paragraph for its basic meaning and connection to the essential questions. While I had found the method I liked, I needed to address the problems of actually annotating too much. I annotated too many phrases and summarizing every paragraph was frankly unnecessary. In my annotations of On The Duty of Civil Disobedience by Henry David Thoreau, I employed the same strategies that were used in American Civilization, except I amended the problems. My annotating is much more selective, and as a result, the more important phrases stand out. Also, the short summaries of paragraphs are not on every single one. Only the paragraphs that warrant an explanation are summarized and explained in order to keep my annotations concise. The two or three most important paragraphs on each page were chosen to be summarized and explained in regard to the essential questions. • 54. The Effects Of Post Traumatic Stress On Brain Functioning Hypothesis and Aims The aim of this study is to assess the effects of post traumatic stress on brain functioning, in particular executive functioning and information processing of children and adolescents. This study also aims to evaluate prazosin as a treatment for post traumatic stress disorder in children and adolescents. Specifically, the study focuses on the treatment of sleep disturbances such as insomnia, nightmares and altered sleep schedules. The hypotheses of this study is that the subjects with PTSD will perform weaker in the tasks given compared to healthy subjects, and that prazosin will improve their sleep cycles and overall conditions. Background Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a condition in which an individual ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In normal brain functioning and NE levels, alpha 2 receptors are strongly stimulated and PFC performance is enhanced, whilst amygdala function is reduced. By blocking alpha 1 receptors or stimulating alpha 2 receptors, stress symptoms can be relieved. Because of this, alpha 1 receptor antagonists and alpha 2 receptor stimulants have been explored for the treatment of PTSD. A successful alpha 1 receptor antagonist that has been used in various studies of PTSD treatment in adults is prazosin. Several studies have shown that prazosin significantly reduces symptoms of PTSD in adults, nightmares and sleep disturbance in particular, and improved the overall wellbeing of patients (5 10). There have been no trials for the effects of prazosin on children and young adolescents. However there are a few case reports of the successful treatment of PTSD symptoms on young individuals as an adjunctive treatment or alone, and with comorbid conditions (11 15). These cases involved a seven year old child (14), two fifteen year olds (11,15) and three sixteen year olds (12,13,15). These cases all involved patients with sleep difficulties and insomnia due to nightmares and avoidance behaviours. Some patients underwent psychotherapy treatments which ultimately failed to alleviate their symptoms, and so prazosin was prescribed. Others had very severe conditions, some of which subsided following psychotherapy and pharmacotherapy, but still possessed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Imagine a world where you can be a running back in the NFL, a powerful sorcerer, and Batman, all in the same day. This world does exist and its the world of video games. Video games allow us to escape reality and the stress that comes with it. It is a world of infinite possibilities with something for everyone. You can slay huge aliens with your friends in a virtual reality, harvest the crops from you very own virtual farm, or even run your own country! In the world of video games, you can do whatever your heart desires! But video games have not always been this way and have not always been around. It has taken a ... Nintendo has dominated the console market with their first handheld gaming device called Gameboy, having sold over 150 million units, and continuing to create more handheld ones. Games have also become easily accessible on smart phones, following the trend of portability. According to research conducted by the Entertainment Software Association (ESA), 43% of gamers play games on their smartphones, and 25% play on a wireless device. Video gameconsoles have drastically improved since the 1970s, having become lighter, faster, and more interactive. All of these improvements were made possible by the advancements in hardware. Although the hardware from the 1970s is incredibly inferior to what we have today, the consoles we use today are still put together in a similar fashion. When the Atari 2600 was released, it had no hard drive to save programs to, barely any RAM, and the game cartridges only had about two to four kilobytes of memory (McCall para. 4). To put that in perspective, a trillion kilobytes is equal to exactly one gigabyte. That is virtually nothing. Back in the 70s, the graphics were not good because thats all the computing power that was available back then. Simple games with pixellated graphics took up all the space in the hardware. Gaming controllers had to be simple because the games lacked the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 56. Theism in a Postmodern World Theism in a Postmodern World by Billy Bush Religious Worldviews RELS 402 Professor W. C. Calhoun June 22, 2009 Abstract In today s postmodern world, ideals of being consumed with self and self appropriated ideas of truth leave God forgotten and to them, God is dead. This same thought process see s no reason or logic to bring God into the picture let alone into their lives. The pervasive postmodern worldview today includes precepts such that self decides who we become, as well as, is not necessary to have a God who should be in control of our lives. It is difficult for a Christian to live out his theistic worldview in today s postmodern world, but it can be done because of our beliefs in God. Like... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (John 3:16, NIV). Many people ask If God is just, why is there evil? (Forte, 2003). The answer to this is simple, evil exists because humans choose to disobey and fall into sin. The disobedience of man is the original cause and current cause of evil in this world, not God.Christian theism includes what happens to a person when they die. For each person death is either the gate to life with God and His people or the gate to eternal separation from the only thing that will ultimately fulfill human aspirations (Sire, 2004). Inevitably, there are only two destination choices; either we will go to heaven or hell. Hell was not only created by God for Satan and those angels who chose to defy God s will but also for those who have chosen to reject Christ s love and to follow Him.Christian theism defines how ethics relates to the role of humans. Ethics is transcendent and is based on the character of God as good [holy and loving] (Sire, 2004). Theism teaches the universe is moral and there is an absolute standard by which we should all judge things. God is the standard and all issues should be judged next to His standard.Christian Theism teaches us, History is linear, a meaningful sequence of events leading to the fulfillment of God s purposes for humanity (Sire, 2004). History, as we know, began when God created this world. History is not simply a story seen as possibly or potentially true, depending upon from who ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
