With regard to the relationship between government spending and private consumption, two
opponent points of view can be found. The first one states that there is a relation of substitution
between government spending and private consumption. However, the other one concludes that
government spending and private consumption are complements. Therefore, it can be easily seen
that it is a controversial issue for both economists and policy makers. According to the literature,
several studies have been done to test the relationship between government spending and private
consumption in the context of industrialized countries, OECD countries, and some Asian countries.
Of course, Egypt was not one of these studied cases. Moreover, when a study was done to
investigate this point of research in the context of a group of African countries (Anoruo 2005) that
performed a panel data analysis for 24 countries; Unfortunately, Egypt was not included in this panel
data analysis. As a result, there is a gap in the literature of testing the relationship between
government spending and private consumption for Egypt. Consequently, this study aims to provide
an answer to this important question; does government spending substitute or complement private
consumption in Egypt? Literature Review: Surveying the literature of testing the relationship

Taran Swan Hbr Case Analysis
Taran Swan at Nickelodeon Latin America
Background
Nickelodeon is a cable channel for kids 2 11 years old. It started out in the US in 1979.
Nickelodeon produced cartoons, live action, comedy, drama, music, sports and game shows. In
1996 it was the most popular kid s TV channel in the US. The international channels had their own
names, but relied on US programs that were voiced over. The channels were launched by a team
from corporate the company called the Nickelodeon International Swat Team. They would build
the channel and transition it to local management. By 1998 Nickelodeon was in more than 30
countries. While Taran Swan was the director of Business Development for Nickelodeon

Swan s enthusiasm and philosophy of open communication and ownership of tasks had brought the
Nickelodeon team together. Latin Americawas very segmented. Regional dialects, customs and
languages needed required attention. Rey del Valle was brought in from Fedex to help keep the
network on budget. Even though he had no experience in entertainment, Swan was particularly
concerned with the bottom line. With this move, and others, money was being spent on gambles
but the reasoning behind them was well informed. Investments in quantitative and qualitative
studies were recommended by Del Valle, further aligning them with their immersive business
strategy.
The sharing of employees between Nickelodeon and MTV in Latin America was an immediate
obstacle for Swan. Early, sharing Viacom employees was the only option to have a support staff for
Nickelodeon Latin America. The extreme differences between the networks confused the
advertisement and sales departments. Viacom employees were being asked to sell two networks
instead of one, without being given extra incentive to do so. Swan has approached this obstacle by
sharing her enthusiasm for Nickelodeon with the Viacom staff via her Growing Down meetings.
The important childhood culture was communicated in the meetings along with their marketing that
included the Ayuda tu Mundo (Help your

Family Is The Most Significant Impact On My Life
Family is my everything. Family has shaped both my character and my identity; however, my
sister has had the most significant impact on me. My sister, Jordan, and I grew up as any typical
sisters would. We never saw eye to eye and fought over who borrowed whose shirt. That all
changed the summer going into my freshman year of high school and her freshman year of
college. Jordan s dream college was Arizona State University and unfortunately we were still
living in Colorado at the time. My family was in nowhere of a financial position to be sending
her out of state. We were faced with the ultimatum of either moving to Arizona or sacrificing her
college dream. The move to Arizona was mutually difficult for us. For the first time we were
both in a vulnerable state of mind and it was essential to rely on each other for support. This
situation taught me about the importance of sacrifice. I was a tenacious and selfish teenager
who needed to learn what it meant to sacrifice for loved ones. That is something Jordan
enlightened me on. That first year rapidly changed the dynamic of our sisterhood. She was no
longer solely my sister; but, she was my ally, therapist, critic, teacher, and most of all best friend.
Each year that I mature, I learn and strive to me more like my sister. She has influenced my
identity even more than I would perceive possible. She has taught me to be strong. In the middle
of high school, my parents had decided to get a divorce. This decision opened up an entire

The Pros And Cons Of Animal Experimentation
Animal experimentation has been a controversial subject for decades. Millions of animals have
been killed in United States laboratories for biology lessons, medical training, curiosity driven
experiments, and chemical, drug, food, and cosmetics testing. Animal experimentation has proven
to be an imprecise way of research and practices in animal cruelty. There are alternatives to animal
testingthat have been proven more accurate, but because of tradition these alternatives are
overlooked by many. The three R s of animal testing, reduction, refinement, and replacement, should
be implemented. The testing of animals does not have enough beneficial results to deem it
necessary. Many drugs proven safe for animals have been proven harmful to humans in human
trials. In order to make experimentation more accurate, scientists should rely on human cells and
carefully conducted clinical trials with humans (as cited in Thomas, 2009, p. 95).
Stop Animal Experimentation
Animal experimentation has become a very controversial subject since the development of more
advanced technology. Estimates of the number of animals used each year for experiments in United
States laboratories range from seventeen to seventy million (as cited in Animal Friends Croatia ,
2009, p. 15). Animal experimentation, which is also known as animal testing, is experiments that
use non human animals that seek to control the variables that affect the behavior or biological
system under study. Although animal

The Impact Of Customer Satisfaction On Brand Loyalty
The Research topic: The impact of Customer Satisfaction on Brand Loyalty in the UK. The case
study of Hilton Hotels and Resorts. INTRODUCTION 1.1 BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
Customer satisfaction is arising as a big challenge in the hospitality industry. Brands are
introducing and accepting in every good economy, which give an indication that customers are not
only giving importance to tangible products and services but they also look for the self esteem
behind the scene.(Sutton, 2003). Dr. Mary Jones from University of Bath (2009) put light to this
particular issue by saying that customer retention is profitable for a company, but it needs quality
services, superior values and satisfaction to customer loyalty with brand. Brand loyalty is necessary
to get place in the customer s mind and can only be gained by communicating the brand s
philosophy into the mind of customers through good repute.(Simmon,1999). Customer satisfaction
leads to brand loyalty. This is an assumption made very often in the hospitality industry. Based on
this assumption, every company should attach utmost importance to create customer satisfaction.
(Kamila,2003). After customer buying a certain product, it will have a certain degree of effect on
brand loyalty from the customer point of view. (Spreng, MacKenzie, and Olshavsky,1996). Kotler
(2001) defined satisfaction as a person s feeling of pleasure or disappointment resulting from
comparing a product s perceived performance, in relation to his or her

Edward Jenner And The Smallpox Vaccine
Revised Research Question:
How did Edward Jenner s discovery and the promotion of the smallpox vaccination enable the
eradication of smallpox and how did it spark rise of preventative medicine globally?
Preliminary Thesis: Edward Jenner s discovery of the smallpox vaccination demonstrated that the
vaccine would protect against smallpox where no disease would develop, which prompted the
World Health Organization to begin the process of worldwide eradication of smallpox.

The Milling Machine And Drilling
In order to use the milling machine to manufacture a 2 in base by ВЅ in height by Вѕ in depth
piece, we needed to be very precise and meticulous whit our dimensions. The process required
measuring the piece in every procedure. From the beginning, when we cut our piece from the steel
bar using the Band Saw machine. In the end when we drilled four different sizes of holes in the
piece using two different techniques; drillingusing the milling machineand drilling by hand. Before
we started machining, we were instructed in how to perform measurements using calipers and
micrometers, but we mainly use micrometers during the procedure. Then, after a clear explanation
of the procedure, measurements and machine uses we performed our first cut using the Band Saw
by cutting a small piece from it. The edges of the steel piece weren t smooth so we machine it
using the Milling machine, just one side. In order to get the requirement dimensions we set the
machine in Low speed because it is better for rough cuts, high speed for small cuts.
The initial height was .680 in so two rough cuts were performed one of .100 in and a second of
.060 in both around 80 MPH. A third cut was necessary to get the proper height, which was only
.020 in; it was a simple cut so it was necessary a high speed that was around 200. After this, the
height was finally ВЅ in.
Now, we needed to get the correct width. It was required to be .750 in. The piece was .958 in, so it
was necessary to machine .208. First,

Feral Children Essay
The Wild Children
Child: Oxana Malaya
The definition of the word feral children is undomesticated children. It has been a proven case that
young children cannot survive on their own in the wild they are merely adopted by animals that
choose to love them and want to help the children and teach them their way of life. An animal can
sense when they re in danger but when these children pose no threat all they want is devotion, love,
protection they didn t receive from the parents or guardians that abounded them.
Facts known about the child:
Oxana Malaya lived in Russia, Ukraine in an old village farm at Blagoveshchensk. For six years

Oxana Malaya has a great deal of devotion to the dogs because they saved her life. Some situations

British psychologist and expert on wild children, Lyn Fry, went to see Oxana Malaya with a film

It was dirty, terribly rundown and primitive but in the Ukrainian terms, very desirable. Her carers

Lyn Fry studied Oxana with day to day human interaction and how she processed new information
in a socialised environment. She doesn t have the social or personal skills. She has had boyfriends
but she doesn t have the ability to form a long term relationship or to understand give and take. She
would rather fall out then compromise. She is a very vulnerable person and there is no protection

The Dark Knight Analysis
The Dark Knight is a superhero movie and is part of a sequel. It comes second after Batman
Begins. It is a fantastic movie directed by Christopher Nolan. The main Theme of this movie is
Faith. The plot and Characters develop this theme in a few ways. When the film opens up we have
a bank robbery scene in the city of gotham and we encounter the joker, our antagonist. Because of
this we see a chain of crimes happening around the city and the people of Gotham turn their faith
toward the Batman. This is the basic plot of the film where the protagonists are trying to restore
people s faith back into the city and the police force. The characters develop this theme by
carrying out the plot of the film and helping restore faith back into the city. The visual design
plays a big role in developing the film s theme. A majority of the time the films color is dark and
the colors palate that is used is to the darker side. The setting of this movie is determiner of
character because it takes place in a setting that Batmandoesn t have too much control over and he
is working to protect that and survive in that place. We also see a setting for sheer visual impact
at times such as when we see a deep focus camera shot of the entire city and see how much chaos
is going on and what the protagonists are trying to do to restore faith back into the city. The
functions of the setting in this film also have symbolic significance to the theme and it impacts it
very much. We mostly see this in the

In a small bowl, mix together the flour and salt, then set it aside. Then, in a large bowl, beat the
butter on high speed with an electric mixer for two minutes. Next, change the speed to medium
and slowly add the sugar and beat for two more minutes. Stop mixing every 30 seconds and
scrape down the sides of the bowl. Then, mix the egg and the vanilla on low speed for one
minute. Stop halfway through to scrape down the sides of the bowl and continue mixing. Then,
stop the mixer again and add half of the flour mixture. Beat on low speed until most of the flour

Life Of David Hale And Dead Man Walking
Mahatma Gandhi once said Truth stands, even if there is no public support. It is self sustained.
Life of David Gale directed by Alan Parker, and Dead Man Walking by Tim Robbins are both
films about redemption. The men in both films had no support from their society, until they
contacted someone to listen to their story. The films have different approaches on how to redeem
the main characters.Life of David Gale and Dead Man Walkinghave similarities and differences. In
Life of David Gale, David Gale was about a professor at the University of Boston. David was
accused of the rape and murder of his partner Constance Harraway, and was put on death row. In
reality David was completely innocent. David and Constance were protesters of the death
penalty. David also had a special bond with his son, whom he lost to his wife in a custody battle.
David did not want his son to know his father as a rapist and murderer,so when he was on death
row, he contacted a reporter named Bitsey Bloom.David shared his whole story with Bitsey,
which led Bitsey to believe that David was innocent.Bitsey was given anonymous evidence,
which proved David Gale s innocence, but she was too late. David Gale was executed, for no law
binding reason. David said in the film Death is a gift. Not afraid of death, David Gale sought
redemption in the eyes of his son.
Dead Man Walking was film based on a true story. Matthew Poncele was also accused of rape and

Cardiomyopathy, Raynaud s And Perfusion
Cardiomyopathy, Raynaud s and Perfusion
Adequate perfusion supplies the entire body with necessary oxygen and nutrients to sustain life.
The process of oxygenation and perfusion can be affected by a multitude of factors. A few
examples are, a decreased oxygen carrying capacity, hypovolemia, neuromuscular disease, central
nervous system alterations and chronic diseases (Potter, Perry, Stockert, Hall, 2013, p. 826). Two
specific examples of conditions affecting perfusion are cardiomyopathy and Raynaud s

Essay on The Hoover Dam
The Hoover Dam
Out in the middle of no where, an hour drive away from Las Vegas, NV lies one of the biggest
dams and power plants in the world. Built in the heart of the depression, it serves as more than
just a barrier from water to pass through. The concrete poured into the walls of Hoover Dam, are
made by the sweat and blood of hundreds of Americans who were looking to save themselves, and
their families.
Residing on the Colorado River, the Hoover dam rises out of no where. Downstream from the Grand

The engineering design that went behind building such a massive barrier is unbelievable. While
building started in 1931, it is clear that there was a huge push to make this structure even
decades before the first shovel pierced the earth. The American agriculture in the southwest, was
going through a cycle of floods and droughts, this would make for very harsh growing
conditions. Engineers felt that it was possible to block the Colorado River, which would allow
for regulation of the water and also hydroelectric power. This massive project would not have
been possible without the financing of a very large company. During the middle of the depression,
it was extremely hard to find a company who was willing to front the money to start the project.
One was found and for close to forty nine million dollars, the dam was financed by six different
smaller construction companies.
The first thing that needed to be constructed was roads that lead up to the dam site. Hoover dam isn
t anywhere close to any towns or cities. The railroads didn t even lead up to it. The first order of
business was to make the dam accessible by the cars and trains that would be bringing in the
supplies necessary to make the dam. In order to try and stop the water from flowing down to the
dam site, a cofferdam was built slightly upstream, and another slightly down stream from the dam
site. This cofferdam allowed for the diversion of water through large pipes to down below

Mosaics in Early Byzantine Era
The increase in mosaics in churches in Late Antiquity and the Byzantine Era was largely due to
the influence of the Roman Emperor Constantine (ruled from 306 to 337 AD). During his rule as
emperor, Christianity became the major religion and there was a push for more buildings to
house the followers of Christ. Along with the new buildings there was a need to decorate these
places of worship accordingly and express the religion in a grandiose sort of way. Mosaics were
generally the inexpensive and impressive answer that was used to convey the church s message.
Through mosaics, the people of the church could learn and be informed of the spiritual and cultural
symbolism (Kleiner and Mamiya 313).

On the lower north wall to the left and below the apse mosaic, Justinian, Bishop Maximianus, and
others are shown in a mosaic rich in color. There are three groupings in this mosaic, the emperor

Bishop Maximianus and two clergymen. The bishop was given a level of importance by the
inscription of his name above his head. The emperor appears slightly behind the bishop when

showing the feet of the leader of each group overlapping the others while depicting the powers of

Joseph Henry lived from 1797 to 1878. Of Scottish decent, Henry was a son of a day laborer in
Albany, New York. He was sent to live with his grandmother as a small boy in a village about 40

If a current is flowing, self inductance tends to keep it from building up. Henry found that self
inductance is greatly affected by the configuration of the circuit, especially the coiling of the wire.
He also discovered how to make non inductive windings by folding the wire back on itself.
At the same time Henry was doing all this, another physicist, Michael Faraday was doing similar
work in England. Henry was slow in publishing his results and was unaware of Faraday s work,
therefore Faraday is recognized as the discoverer of mutual inductance, which is the basis of
transformers, while Henry is only accredited for the discovery of self inductance.
At the age of 35, Yales geologist, Benjamin Silliman, was consulted regarding the possible
appointment of Henry to Princeton. Silliman s response was negative in saying that Henry has no
superior in our country, and Henry, who was modest, defended the fact that he never graduated
any colleges and he is principally self educated. Henry therefore got the job. His initial salary at
Princeton was $1,000 per annum plus a house. The Trustees also provided for $100 for the
purchase of a new electrical machine. At Princeton, Henry worked with his brother in law, Stephen

Looming over Marin County and San Francisco, iconic Mount Tamalpais rises over 2500 feet
almost directly above the bay. Most of this mountain is a state park, and there are many miles of
hiking and biking trails. Remember that mountain biking got its start here, and most of the old fire

these bikers seem to be considerate of hikers.
That was important on the summer day I picked to hike the summit. There are a number of trails

summit, and there is a visitor center which is only open on weekends. There is also a restroom and

Too bad, as the water I brought was now warm. Another trail went up to the summit. It was

Supply Chain Power Tool T3
Power Tool Proposal Task 3 In order to operate at maximum profit levels, a business must have
lower operational costs than the competition. The means to satisfying lower operational costs is
Supply Chain Management. Supply Chain Management is a cross industry wide philosophy to
improve operational efficiency by integrating activities of obtaining goods and services to create a
product. When implementing a supply chain strategy, consideration must be given to the approach
given to suppliers, metrics to measure success of the plan, risk and risk mitigation. In this paper we

In addition, these types of suppliers may not be willing to deliver to work cells if Tyson is to
implement JIT and Lean Operations strategies which will have a negative impact on work in
process and long term unit costs. As a result, this strategy is not recommended. Another Supply
Chain Management strategy is backward integration. Backward integration would consist of Tyson
Tools purchasing its suppliers to reduce delivery timing and cost reduction of purchased items.
This type of strategy requires the purchasing company to have large amounts of capital and an
existing talent pool with core competencies to manage a supply company. This type of strategy can
be difficult to manage and more difficult to reverse leading to financial ruin. In comparison, the
alternative method of long term partnering takes away the risk of the buyer having to be the
specialist of the product from beginning to end.
Discuss Metrics that could be used to measure performance of the supply chain.
Supply chain metrics can be used to align processes of all firms within the long term partnership

Minimum Cleanliness Level The Oil
The industries standard for this are set by ISO standards. The minimum cleanliness level the oil
must have is ISO 18/16/13. Each number in this number code represents the maximum allowable
number of particles in the oil greater than 2 microns, 5 microns, and 15 microns in size
respectively. Hard to implement in our design (can t justify this concisely) not really necessary?
The filtration system configuration can be seen below in Figure 4. The pump draws the oil out of
the sump and through a prefilter. It then positively directs the oil towards the solenoid valve which
directs it through one of the two parallel filtration systems. Each filtration system is equipped
with a 10 micron filter and two 4 micron filters set in a parallel configuration. The oil then passes
through the 10 micron filter which will remove all particles of 10 microns in size or greater. The
oil then enters a flow divider valve which properly diverts the oil to two separate 4 micron filters
for further oil cleansing. Likewise, the 4 micron filters will remove all particles of 4 microns or
greater. From here, the oil flows through a check ball valve to ensure no backflow into the filters.
This is necessary due to the merging of the two parallel 4 micron filters. After leaving the first filter
configuration the oil is then directed towards the cooling system. However before it reaches the
cooler, it passes an alternate route towards the bypass filtration system. This system does not

Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer
Jon Krakauer presents Into The Wild a tragic tale of a young ambitious man who is motivated to
go into the wilderness and discover his true identity.Jon krakauer conveys many messages to his
readers through Chris McCandless, and his messages often offer a warning to society.we will
furture idenitfy how the author delievers the warning to society and what effect it can have upon
society today.Three of the very important messages he empatizes on are the societies influence on
people, the essence of nature and the importance of fogriving someone.
Firstly we see how jon krakauer uses people and societies influence as a prime example to pass a
very important message. As we know American society seems to center around the idea of
american dream of going to the best university and to buy a new car, a new house overall to buy
anything and everything to look superior to others. This quote was said by chris which completly
descirbes our materalistic society So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will
not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security,
conformity, and conservatism. 56 57 Through the character Chris Mccandless we see how troubled
the author is by materalism and we also see authors disagreement to materalism when Chris denies
his parents offer to buy him a new car and by putting the strong emphasis on materalism the writer
makes the readers question the importance of the possesions and materalisms in

The Last Days Of Summer
The last few days of summer are always unforgettable. As the school year draws near I find
myself cherishing every moment of summer fun. Everyone is staying up late and sleeping all
day, except for me. On this particular August morning, I was struggling to get up for my team s
daily soccer practice. Once dressed I was actually feeling pretty excited about the day. The
twenty minute car ride flew by and Mom dropped Anna and I off at the soccer field. I stepped
out of the car and the smoldering heat hit me like a freight train and I had to remind myself that
practicing is for the best. I began putting on my socks and shin guards when several of my friends
started showing up, one by one. I m so relieved when my favorite people... Show more content on

Not only was sweat dripping from my brow, it was dripping all over my weak body. I sat down
and took my first sip water. That sip tasted like the most glorious pure ice water I had ever drank.
Five minutes went by and resting was over. Luckily though a shooting drill came next. On my
first shot I used great force and my laces to send the ball in. It flew up towards the very top right
corner of the goal frame but my effort my not enough. The team goal keeper leaped with all her
might, knocking the ball out of play and diving onto the ground making an unpleasant thud.
Although it was a good shot, I felt defeated and as I got back in line, the frustration set in. I
stepped up for my next shot brimming with determination and made the goal, my confidence
restored. After a few more rounds of shooting we were given another water break. Time was
passing and the humidity was rising. This time the water just tasted like any other water, but I
was still satisfied. As practice was drawing towards the end, it was time for our last activity:
scrimmaging. It s what I looked forward to almost every day. While coach began picking teams, I
prayed my team wouldn t have to wear bibs. Of course we did, which is just my luck. The stench of
the bibs was so bad it could have knocked me down. But as I pulled one over my head, I pretended
it was a brand new blouse. I was so proud to be on the varsity team, I would ve worn anything.
Then I ran out to my

Absorption Of Cocaine
Absorption and Distribution of Cocaine
Cocaine is most often administered via nasal insufflation, intravenous injection, the oral route and
inhalation of crack cocaine vapours (unionized form of cocaine) (Fattinger et al., 2000). Cocaine
is absorbed the fastest and has the most intense effects after smoking or intravenous injection.
This is due to rapid absorption, distribution and low degrees of first pass metabolism although
nasal or oral routes are also common (figure 1; Fattinger et al., 2000). Nasal dosing is often
preferred to oral because oral doses have high degrees of first pass metabolism and slow absorption
compared to that of the nasal route. However, a substantial amount of the drug taken via the nasal
route will migrate into gastrointestinal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Criminals who are responsible drug manufacturing and distribution often cut cocaine with another
substance which appears similar. A common practice is to use toxic compounds which also have
psychoactive components such as Levamisole, a cheap and commonly used worming medicine

maximized while drug users are being exposed to toxic compounds which may lead to requirement
of expensive medical treatment. These concern raises question of whether cocaine or a less
addictive cocaine analog should be distributed by the state, similar to methadone dispensaries, to
ensure addicts are safe and criminal activities are not being

Effects Of Birth Control
Birth Control: Health Effects.
Every year at least 1 out of 5 pregnancies are unplanned, birth control is used to prevent unwanted
pregnancies it has been a concerned for humans for many years. There are many types of birth
controls, one of the most common one is combination pill which is used for many purposes. One
way combination pill is used is to stop ovulation due to the hormones that it produces which are
estrogen, and progesterone. These two hormones control the entire process when it comes to the
menstrual cycle, estrogen regulate the menstrual cycle meanwhile progesterone thickens the lining

Analysis and evaluation
Dominant Economic Characteristics of the Steel Industry Environment
The steel industry worldwide has a huge excess capacity, forcing many companies to operate in
red. An unprecedented number of steel producers have filed for bankruptcy. Among them are
Bethlehem Steel Corporation and LTV, who were the country s third and fourth largest steel
producers respectively. With a lot of world s economies in recession in late nineties, there was a
surge in the import of steel. With unfair subsidies from their governments, foreign steel producers
were dumping steel in the U.S. market at cut rate prices. In 1999, the United States had decided not
to impose any import restrictions.
With 75% capacity utilization, a level too low for many companies, three European companies
decided to merge to form the world s largest steel producer. Two Japanese companies did the same
to form the second largest steel producer. These new mega steelmakers could easily outmuscle
their U.S. competitors. The largest steel producer in the US, USX U.S. Steel group was already at
number 11, with a threat of falling

Space Shuttle Challenger Research Paper
The Space Shuttle Challenger was originally a test vehicle for the National Aeronautics and
Space Administration (NASA). In 1979, NASA ordered Challenger to be converted to a space
rated orbiter, which consisted of massive disassembly and restructuring of the orbiter. It was
delivered back to NASA as the second orbiter in their fleet of Space Shuttles in July 1982, where
it was launched on its first mission on 4 April 1983. Crew members conducted the first spacewalk
of the Space Shuttleprogram on this mission, and subsequent missions saw many other firsts for
space exploration history (1). Over Challenger s lifetime of three years, nine missions of various

Initial thrust built up while the shuttle was secured to the launch pad, and it was released
without issue and traveled upward as designed (5). No issues were noticed by the crew, officials,
or observers at the time of launch. Subsequent review of camera footage, however, reveals
smoke emanating at a cyclic rate of approximately 4 puffs per second from the aft field joint
(AFJ) on the right SRB. As the shuttle left the launch pad, the smoke dissipated from view. The
next 55 seconds occurred without issue for Challenger. All systems worked as programmed;
notably, the automated guidance system was particularly active on this flight due to record high
wind shears experienced by the shuttle, yet continued to be very effective. At 58.788 seconds
after launch, flame appeared at the same location on the starboard SRB s AFJ as the smoke had at
launch. This flame continued to spread to the external tank (ET) connection ring, then to the ET
itself. It breached the ET, which housed liquid hydrogen (LH2) and liquid oxygen (LO2) fuel for
the shuttle s main engines. A large, visible flash surrounded the stern of the shuttle system, all
while the crew carried out normal navigational maneuvers. The shuttle s engines shut down 73.5
seconds after launch due to lack of fuel, and all signals were lost at 74 seconds following a bright
flash around the nose of the ET and orbiter

Dispositional, Biological and Evolutionary Theory of Personality
A Comparison
The word Personality is derived from the latin word persona , which stands for the mask theatre
artists wear during performances. By definition, personality is a pattern of relatively permanent
traits and unique characteristics that give both consistency and individuality to a person s behavior
(Feist Rosenberg, 2009). Human personality is a unique set of traits that determines how a person
reacts to certain situations. Whether the person is curious, risk taking, meticulous, introverted etc.
falls in the realm of personality. Personality is a unique determinant of how we conduct our lives
and in effect determines our biological fitness. There are many theories that try to explain the
origins of personality and how they manifest into life decisions.
The three main theories that have come to the forefront in the race to explain personality are viz.,
Dispositional Theory, Evolutionary Theory and Biological Theory.

What Are The Legal Issues Related To The Ford Motor Company
Memorandum TO: Jonathan Foster, Head of the Legal Analytics Department FROM: Sawyer
Folks, Business Analyst DATE: April 27, 2015 SUBJECT: Ford Motor Company Background
The Ford Motor Company has had a rather tarnished legal history. Ford got into some hot water
in the 1990s and 2000s over multiple safety scandals. One of these scandals occurred in 1996
and involved faulty ignition switches that would short and cause fires. The ignition switch
scandal then led to Ford being sued by State Farm for neglecting to release information about the
faulty ignition switches and their tendency to start fires. Perhaps the most famous Ford safety
scandal of all took place during the 1970s when Ford released the Pinto. As a consequence of a
poor design, the fuel tank was located near the cars bumper and had virtually zero protection
mechanisms in place. This design flaw led to many fatal explosions from the car being struck
from behind. Ford ended up having to pay millions of dollars in civil cases as a result of injuries
and deaths related to the design of the Pinto. Ford had to fork over $125 million dollars in
damages in just one civil case, although this was a special case. There were other cases in which
Ford executives were found innocent of any murder charges at all. There was a very diverse and
wide spectrum of cases related to the Pinto incident. Ford does not only suffer from legal issues
related to a lack of safety, but also to legal issues involving environmental

The Consequences Of Hard Rock And The Bloody Sunday Marchers
All those who marched in Selma, Alabama during Bloody Sunday took beatings and risked their
lives to allow African American and minorities to vote in the South. The marchers actions are like
the actions and results were taken by Hard Rock in the poem Hard Rock Returns to Prison from the
Hospital for the Criminally Insane. Hard Rock and the Bloody Sunday marchers faced very harsh
consequences from their authority for taking actions against them. Both were willing to face these
harsh punishments for their action against their authority. For their actions, they are beloved and
serves inspiration to many.
Hard Rock and the Bloody Sunday marchers faced severe consequences from their authority for
fighting against them. For example, Hard Rock spent 67 days in solitary confinement for
smacking the captain (authority) with the dinner tray as said in lines 17 19 Yeah, remember when
he Smacked the captain with his dinner tray? He set the record for time in the Hole 67 straight
days! Like him, the Selma marchers during Bloody Sunday had been the victim of abuse for not
dispersing in front of the Edmund Pettus Bridge as ordered by Governor George Wallace
(authority). As a result, the state troopers (authority) brutally attacked the peaceful protestors,
including US Representative John Lewis, who sustained a fractured skull (Jones).
Hard Rock and the Bloody Sunday marchers were willing to put themselves up to face the
vicious consequences from their authority because of their fight against their authority. As said
in the poem in lines 1 6 Hard Rock was known not to take no shit from nobody, and he had the
scars to prove it: split purple lips, lumped ears, welts above his yellow eyes, and one long scar that
cut across his temple and plowed through a thick canopy of his kinky hair which he received for
fighting against his authority in prison. Similarly, to Hard Rock, the SCLC knew they were
possibly going to get hurt with actions they were going to take. According to King Enclyopedia,
SCLC had chosen to focus its efforts in Selma because they anticipated that the notorious brutality
of local law enforcement under Sheriff Jim Clark would attract national attention and pressure

Fitzgerald states, Luckily the clock took this moment to tilt dangerously at the pressure of his
head, whereupon he turned and caught it with trembling fingers and set it back in place, (91.)
The idea of the clock being defunct and falling off the mantel because of Gatsby s pressure
leaning against it, reiterates that time between Daisy and Gatsby is broken. It does not matter
they are together presently because they have lost too much time in the past five years. After
knocking over the clock Gatsby apologizes saying, I m sorry about the clock, (92). This quote
was not literally meant as an apology for knocking the clock over but instead was a plea to Daisy
reminding her of their love five years prior. Gatsby realizes time is precious and is trying to
work against the five years he has already lost. All of these references and the recurrence of the
symbol of the clock refers to the time Gatsby and Daisy have missed out on. Fitzgerald, as the
author, decided since Gatsby was a part of of the lower class, he missed out on the opportunity
to achieve his American Dream of possessing Daisy. However, Tom, who was part of the upper
class and came from old money , was the one who got to have her. Similarly, Fitzgerald uses rain
as a hint toward the future for Gatsby and Daisy. The idea of rain was introduced upon Daisy s

Steel City Roller Derby
Another inexpensive and entertaining option is the local roller derby. The Steel City Roller
Derby has been in existence for approximately 10 years, and it is a Pittsburgh favorite. All of the
athletes in this league are female, and they work hard to stay in great shape for the sport. If you
ve never been to a roller derby event, you owe it to yourself to attend one when you re in the city.

Tamerlane Research Paper
Timur was referred to by many names coming from many different people. The name Tamerlane
was derived from the Persian Timur i lane, he was called Temur the lame by Europeans, and his
Turkic name was Timur which means iron. He has also conquered more than any other person in
the world except for Alexander. Timurwas born in the city of Kesh in 1336. His father was a lesser
chief of the nomadic Barlas tribe. Timur claimed he was a direct descendant from Genghis Khan
through the house of one of his sons, Chagatai. In his twenties, Timur received arrow wounds in a
battle while trying to steal sheep. This left him lame in only his right leg, and a stiff right arm, thus
the reason he was named Temur the lame by the Europeans, and Tamerlane. These disabilities,
however, did not stop Timur from inheriting all the lands from Chagatai s heritage.... Show more

Next, he left Samarkand, and fought against the Khans of Jatah and Khwarezm for 10 years After
this, Timur began conquesting in Persia, and he first took over Herat. Khorasan, Iraq, Azerbaijan,
Armenia, Mesopotamia, and Georgia were all taken over by Timur in his massive conquest. In the
intervals between all of his conquests, Timur fought with the Khan of the Golden Horde named
Tokhtamysh. This conflict went on for many years, starting in 1385, when the Tokhtamysh
invaded Azerbaijan and Transoxania and defeated Timur s armies there. Timur chased
Tokhtamysh back into the Russian Steppes where he was defeated and stripped of the throne.
Tokhtamysh created a new army and tried to invade again, but was defeated once more, and
finally gave up. Timur then occupied Moscow for a year. When he was away, riots broke out in
Persia, but the Mongols ended the riots with extreme

Comparing Magic In A Wizard Of Earthsea And Lord Of The Rings
Magic is something people all wish we could use, but when a person has magical powers you can
t just do what you please. If a person could just use magic whenever then it would just be a
disaster. Magic has turned into a form of entertainment to people over time. There is limits in
magic. Different series convey them in different ways. Yet these rules come in many different
forms. Magicis different in A Wizard Of Earthsea(AWOE) by Ursula K. Le Guin compared to
Lord Of The Rings(LOTR) by J.R.R. Tolkien, due to how each book teaches magic, and how they
use magic. A Wizard Of Earthsea is strict, because of the limitations. While LOTR is lenient, due to
the fact that magic does not come with a consequence. For instance, whether or not magic is... Show

Both books, AWOE and LOTR, teach magic in different ways. In AWOE, magic is taught to
them in a school of other magical people or a mentor that is a great magical person. In LOTR,
the magical person is given powers that he s able to just use, never went to a magical school or
taught by a powerful mentor. For example in AWOE, when Ged, a wizard, is on a mission to
find the school for wizard, he says to the first townsman of Thwil Where he would find the
Warder of the School on Roke (36). This shows that the book,AWOE, takes magic and teaches it
to the character of the book. The character,Ged, wasn t just given powers but he had to go to a
school of wizards to gain more knowledge to reach his full potential in his path to becoming a
wizard. AWOE tries to express the fact that magic is taught, that the magical person was not
handed power but had to learn spells. A example of how magic is not taught in LOTR, when the
narrator states As for Bilbo Baggins, even while he was making his speech, he had been
fingering the golden ring in his pocket: his magic ring that he had kept secret for so many years.
As he stepped down he slipped it on his finger, and he was never seen by an hobbit in Hobbiton
again (33). Unlike AWOE, the LOTR doesn t have magical people go to magical schools. Bilbo
doesn t have any powers, he can t repeat a spell he is taught and boom something magical happens.

The Rigoberta Menchu Controversy
The Rigoberta MenchГє Controversy
I, Rigoberta MenchГє at first seems like an autobiography, but that is not what it is meant to be.
MenchГє wrote the book as a testimony of her people s lives to be a voice for her people and show
the world what is going on. There was a lot of controversy about whether Rigoberta deserved the
Nobel Peace Prize, and if this book should be taught to students. There are allegations that she
fabricated a lot of the story. People say that the book is not an accurate portrayal of her life.
Considering that MenchГє said, I d like to stress that it s not only my life, it s also the testimony of
my people , the reader should know that this book was not meant to be an autobiography. MenchГє
powerfully explains the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the course of his research Stoll never interviewed MenchГє herself. Stoll begins the preface of
his book by asserting that there is no doubt about the most important points MenchГє makes (viii).
Moreover, despite press reports about requests to the Nobel Prize Committee to rescind the Peace
Prize after the Times article, in his book Stoll states that he believes awarding the Nobel Prize to
Rigoberta MenchГє was a good idea and that she has been the first to acknowledge that she
received it, not for her own accomplishments but because she stands for a wider group of people
who deserve international support. (ix) The prize was awarded to MenchГє not for her testimony
but for her later political work and peace organizing.Specifically, Stoll s research leads him to
confirm the following information in MenchГє s testimony. In her testimony Rigoberta states that
her father was burned alive when the army attacked the Spanish Embassy he was occupying to
protest human rights abuses, an occurrence that is widely known in Guatemala. Stoll believes
MenchГє s account of the events at the embassy is more balanced than most others. Rigoberta also
stated that her mother was detained, raped, tortured, killed, and her body was mutilated by the
Guatemalan army. Rigoberta MenchГє s horrific description of what happened to her

Women Leadership
WOMEN AND LEADERSHIP
Leadership:
A simple definition of leadership is that leadership is the art of motivating a group of people to
act towards achieving a common goal. Put even more simply, the leader is the inspiration and
director of the action. He or she is the person in the group that possesses the combination of
personality and skills that makes others want to follow his or her direction. In business, leadership is
welded to performance. Effective leaders are those who increase their companies bottom lines. To
further confuse the issue, we tend to use the terms leadership and management interchangeably,
referring to a company s management structure as its leadership, or to individuals who are actually
managers as the leaders ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
п‚· People do not listen to or take direction from women as comfortably as from men The
stereotype that women are more talkative than men is unsupported by evidence. Women report that
they do not feel listened to, that when they speak in meetings their comments and suggestions are
ignored or belittled and that the same comments or suggestions from men have more impact. Field
studies of small group meetings in organizations show that women leaders are targets of more
displays of negative emotion than men leaders, even when both sets of leaders are viewed as
equally competent. п‚· Women who promote themselves and their abilities reap disapproval
Women who act more confident and assertive than is normative for women run the risk of
disapproval. Research demonstrates that when women promote their own accomplishments it can
cause their audience to view them as more competent but at the cost of viewing them as less
likeable. Men who promote their own accomplishments do not reap the same mixed outcomes: as
long as they do not overdo it, self promotion brings them both higher evaluations of competence and
likeability.
п‚·
Women require more external validation than men do to be accepted as leaders in some contexts
In competitive, highly masculinized contexts, simply having leadership training or taskrelated
expertise does not guarantee a woman s success unless accompanied by legitimating by

However, the other one concludes that government spending and private consumption are complements. Therefore, it can be easily seen that it is a controversial issue for both economists and policy makers. According to the literature, several studies have been done to test the relationship between government spending and private consumption in the context of industrialized countries, OECD countries, and some Asian countries. Of course, Egypt was not one of these studied cases. Moreover, when a study was done to investigate this point of research in the context of a group of African countries (Anoruo 2005) that performed a panel data analysis for 24 countries; Unfortunately, Egypt was not included in this panel data analysis. As a result, there is a gap in the literature of testing the relationship between government spending and private consumption for Egypt. Consequently, this study aims to provide an answer to this important question; does government spending substitute or complement private consumption in Egypt? My sister, Jordan, and I grew up as any typical sisters would. We never saw eye to eye and fought over who borrowed whose shirt. That all changed the summer going into my freshman year of high school and her freshman year of college. Jordan s dream college was Arizona State University and unfortunately we were still living in Colorado at the time. My family was in nowhere of a financial position to be sending her out of state. We were faced with the ultimatum of either moving to Arizona or sacrificing her college dream. The move to Arizona was mutually difficult for us. For the first time we were both in a vulnerable state of mind and it was essential to rely on each other for support. This situation taught me about the importance of sacrifice. I was a tenacious and selfish teenager who needed to learn what it meant to sacrifice for loved ones. That is something Jordan enlightened me on. That first year rapidly changed the dynamic of our sisterhood. She was no longer solely my sister; but, she was my ally, therapist, critic, teacher, and most of all best friend. Each year that I mature, I learn and strive to me more like my sister. She has influenced my identity even more than I would perceive possible. She has taught me to be strong. • 5. The Pros And Cons Of Animal Experimentation Animal experimentation has been a controversial subject for decades. Millions of animals have been killed in United States laboratories for biology lessons, medical training, curiosity driven experiments, and chemical, drug, food, and cosmetics testing. Animal experimentation has proven to be an imprecise way of research and practices in animal cruelty. There are alternatives to animal testingthat have been proven more accurate, but because of tradition these alternatives are overlooked by many. The three R s of animal testing, reduction, refinement, and replacement, should be implemented. The testing of animals does not have enough beneficial results to deem it necessary. Many drugs proven safe for animals have been proven harmful to humans in human trials. In order to make experimentation more accurate, scientists should rely on human cells and carefully conducted clinical trials with humans (as cited in Thomas, 2009, p. 95). Stop Animal Experimentation Animal experimentation has become a very controversial subject since the development of more advanced technology. Estimates of the number of animals used each year for experiments in United States laboratories range from seventeen to seventy million (as cited in Animal Friends Croatia , 2009, p. 15). • 6. The Impact Of Customer Satisfaction On Brand Loyalty The Research topic: The impact of Customer Satisfaction on Brand Loyalty in the UK. The case study of Hilton Hotels and Resorts. INTRODUCTION 1.1 BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY Customer satisfaction is arising as a big challenge in the hospitality industry. Brands are introducing and accepting in every good economy, which give an indication that customers are not only giving importance to tangible products and services but they also look for the self esteem behind the scene.(Sutton, 2003). Dr. Mary Jones from University of Bath (2009) put light to this particular issue by saying that customer retention is profitable for a company, but it needs quality services, superior values and satisfaction to customer loyalty with brand. Brand loyalty is necessary to get place in the customer s mind and can only be gained by communicating the brand s philosophy into the mind of customers through good repute.(Simmon,1999). Customer satisfaction leads to brand loyalty. This is an assumption made very often in the hospitality industry. Based on this assumption, every company should attach utmost importance to create customer satisfaction. (Kamila,2003). After customer buying a certain product, it will have a certain degree of effect on brand loyalty from the customer point of view. (Spreng, MacKenzie, and Olshavsky,1996). The main Theme of this movie is Faith. The plot and Characters develop this theme in a few ways. When the film opens up we have a bank robbery scene in the city of gotham and we encounter the joker, our antagonist. Because of this we see a chain of crimes happening around the city and the people of Gotham turn their faith toward the Batman. This is the basic plot of the film where the protagonists are trying to restore people s faith back into the city and the police force. The characters develop this theme by carrying out the plot of the film and helping restore faith back into the city. The visual design plays a big role in developing the film s theme. A majority of the time the films color is dark and the colors palate that is used is to the darker side. The setting of this movie is determiner of character because it takes place in a setting that Batmandoesn t have too much control over and he is working to protect that and survive in that place. We also see a setting for sheer visual impact at times such as when we see a deep focus camera shot of the entire city and see how much chaos is going on and what the protagonists are trying to do to restore faith back into the city. Each number in this number code represents the maximum allowable number of particles in the oil greater than 2 microns, 5 microns, and 15 microns in size respectively. Hard to implement in our design (can t justify this concisely) not really necessary? The filtration system configuration can be seen below in Figure 4. The pump draws the oil out of the sump and through a prefilter. It then positively directs the oil towards the solenoid valve which directs it through one of the two parallel filtration systems. Each filtration system is equipped with a 10 micron filter and two 4 micron filters set in a parallel configuration. The oil then passes through the 10 micron filter which will remove all particles of 10 microns in size or greater. The oil then enters a flow divider valve which properly diverts the oil to two separate 4 micron filters for further oil cleansing. Likewise, the 4 micron filters will remove all particles of 4 microns or greater. From here, the oil flows through a check ball valve to ensure no backflow into the filters. This is necessary due to the merging of the two parallel 4 micron filters. After leaving the first filter configuration the oil is then directed towards the cooling system. However before it reaches the cooler, it passes an alternate route towards the bypass filtration system. This system does not circulate ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Absorption Of Cocaine Absorption and Distribution of Cocaine Cocaine is most often administered via nasal insufflation, intravenous injection, the oral route and inhalation of crack cocaine vapours (unionized form of cocaine) (Fattinger et al., 2000). Cocaine is absorbed the fastest and has the most intense effects after smoking or intravenous injection. This is due to rapid absorption, distribution and low degrees of first pass metabolism although nasal or oral routes are also common (figure 1; Fattinger et al., 2000). • 31. What Are The Legal Issues Related To The Ford Motor Company Memorandum TO: Jonathan Foster, Head of the Legal Analytics Department FROM: Sawyer Folks, Business Analyst DATE: April 27, 2015 SUBJECT: Ford Motor Company Background The Ford Motor Company has had a rather tarnished legal history. Ford got into some hot water in the 1990s and 2000s over multiple safety scandals. One of these scandals occurred in 1996 and involved faulty ignition switches that would short and cause fires. The ignition switch scandal then led to Ford being sued by State Farm for neglecting to release information about the faulty ignition switches and their tendency to start fires. Perhaps the most famous Ford safety scandal of all took place during the 1970s when Ford released the Pinto. As a consequence of a poor design, the fuel tank was located near the cars bumper and had virtually zero protection mechanisms in place. This design flaw led to many fatal explosions from the car being struck from behind. Ford ended up having to pay millions of dollars in civil cases as a result of injuries and deaths related to the design of the Pinto. Ford had to fork over $125 million dollars in damages in just one civil case, although this was a special case. There were other cases in which Ford executives were found innocent of any murder charges at all. There was a very diverse and wide spectrum of cases related to the Pinto incident. For example in AWOE, when Ged, a wizard, is on a mission to find the school for wizard, he says to the first townsman of Thwil Where he would find the Warder of the School on Roke (36). Bilbo doesn t have any powers, he can t repeat a spell he is taught and boom something magical happens. In LOTR magic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. The Rigoberta Menchu Controversy The Rigoberta MenchГє Controversy I, Rigoberta MenchГє at first seems like an autobiography, but that is not what it is meant to be. MenchГє wrote the book as a testimony of her people s lives to be a voice for her people and show the world what is going on. There was a lot of controversy about whether Rigoberta deserved the Nobel Peace Prize, and if this book should be taught to students. There are allegations that she fabricated a lot of the story. People say that the book is not an accurate portrayal of her life. Stoll begins the preface of his book by asserting that there is no doubt about the most important points MenchГє makes (viii). Stoll believes MenchГє s account of the events at the embassy is more balanced than most others. Rigoberta also stated that her mother was detained, raped, tortured, killed, and her body was mutilated by the Guatemalan army. Rigoberta MenchГє s horrific description of what happened to her ... Women report that they do not feel listened to, that when they speak in meetings their comments and suggestions are ignored or belittled and that the same comments or suggestions from men have more impact. Field studies of small group meetings in organizations show that women leaders are targets of more displays of negative emotion than men leaders, even when both sets of leaders are viewed as equally competent. п‚· Women who promote themselves and their abilities reap disapproval Women who act more confident and assertive than is normative for women run the risk of disapproval. Research demonstrates that when women promote their own accomplishments it can cause their audience to view them as more competent but at the cost of viewing them as less likeable. Men who promote their own accomplishments do not reap the same mixed outcomes: as long as they do not overdo it, self promotion brings them both higher evaluations of competence and likeability. п‚· Women require more external validation than men do to be accepted as leaders in some contexts In competitive, highly masculinized contexts, simply having leadership training or taskrelated expertise does not guarantee a woman s success unless accompanied by legitimating by ...
