2. • Empire: A British film magazine. This magazine reviews both
mainstream and art films, as well as film news, previews and
reviews.
• Men characters tend to be displayed on the front cover more than
women, and ususally the ‘hero’ type character. The top favourite
features from this magazine are:
• 1Avengers:Age Of Ultron
• 2The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies
• 3Star Wars: The Force Awakens
• 4Ant-Man
• 5Jurrastic Park 4
• 6Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice
• The audience of these magazines are typically males aged 18-25
years old.
• This is a youthful magazine as it has a modern layout with lots of
pictures and text that’s relaxed and easy to read.
3. • Total Film: A UK based film magazine. It
includes cinema, DVD and Blu-ray news, reviews
and features. There are interviews with actors
and directors, on-set pieces for new and future
releases and the Total Film Interview, which is a
six page in depth chat with an actor or director.
• The magazine has 4 main sections too it:
• Dialogue- readers interaction e.g twitter
• Buzz- news e.g upcoming films
• Agenda- previews less mainstream films
• Screen- Main cinema movie reviews, all the new
movies
• Lounge- Total films home entertainment guide
• The magazine is directed to a young audience,
both male and female. This is because it uses lots
of pictures, has relaxed text and fun reading.
4. • Sight and Sound: An international film magazine. The
magazine reviews all film releases each month, and also
those with a limited release, as opposed to most film
magazines which concentrate on those films with a general
release. They also features a full cast and crew credit list
for each reviewed film.
• The audience for this film would typically be over 30’s, or
intellectual ones, specifically ones who are interested in
media and film.
• This is because the magazine has a lot of information in it,
and the text used is quite informal, and the colours more
dull, with less pictures. Also instead of always featuring
popular characters, they regularly feature producers etc.,
which is why this may not appeal to a younger audience
who don’t have an interest in the details of film making.
5. Zoe-Grace-magazine cover
• After researching the different film magazine, i feel
like the best magazine for ‘Zoe-Grace’ to be featured
on would be ‘Total Film’ magazine.
• This is because it features both mainstream, and less
mainstream films, and new releases.
• It also had a young target audience aimed and both
males and females, which is the audience we are
looking to aim our film at, and it is released in the
UK, which is where we want our film to be released,
as its only a small British independent film
