This document describes a traditional roofing technique used in South India called Madras Terrace Roof. Wooden beams are laid across the span at intervals less than 45cm. Bricks are placed on edge between the beams and filled in with lime plaster. Additional bricks called "aachikal" are laid diagonally across and plastered with lime to complete the roof. It is commonly used for small spans and involves the use of wood, bricks, and lime plaster.
