YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT TWO
TYPES OF ALARMS IN THE
BUILDING
THERE’S THE GAS
MONITORING SYSTEM
AND THE FIRE
ALARM SYSTEM
GMS LEVEL 1 ALARM
 Evacuates the floor that the incident is detected on
 A blue strobe will flash and an alarm will sound
 You are required to evacuate the floor of concern and wait for the all-
clear to re-enter
GMS LEVEL 2 ALARM
 Evacuates the entire building!
 A blue strobe will flash and a voice will give you evacuation
instructions
 You are required to evacuate the entire building and go to your
predetermined evacuation area
 Instructions for re-entry will be provided to the group leader
FIRE ALARM
 There is only one level with the Fire Alarm System
 A full building evacuation is required!
 A white strobe will flash and the fire alarm will offer
evacuation instructions
 A Fire Alarm is treated the same as a GMS Level 2 Alarm
