Cartierville Urban Analysis
Introduction The area of the city I chose to analyze is located in Cartierville. The specific area spans
about four blocs from Dudemaine street all the way up to Salaberry, it is bordered by Rue Fillion and
St Germain. This block of the borough of Cartierville is mostly residential and suburban but if there
would only be that aspect this paper wouldn t be too interesting. So I decided to go one block over to
Obrien which has more of a commercial side to it. So we can see the shift between the two types of
areas. INITIAL EXPECTATIONS/FIRST IMPRESSIONS At first glance this neighbourhood this
neighbourhood seemed very quiet, very boring. And for the most part this is true. Most of the area
studied is residential space and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On this corner there are two corner stores, a police station and duplexes starting to appear. This bring
the feeling of the city (busyness, hustle and bustle) to the quaint little suburb. And I fell it is the
apartment buildings that trap you in and make you feel uncomfortable. This is where James Kuntsler s
and Montgomery s ideas of happy cities come into play. For the most part the area is a happy place,
nothing too ugly that you just can t stand to be around. As you approach that corner the apartment
buildings are sort of the ugly duckling, they weren t built with the most fashionable facade; a brick
wall with some windows. Not too visually pleasing, then you have the police station and again the
front of the building is alright but go to the side3 and you want to walk as fast as you can to get past

The Complications Associated With Diabetes Mellitus ( Dm )
Abstract This paper explores the complications associated with Diabetes Mellitus (DM) including
altered tissue perfusion. Altered tissue perfusion occurs as a result of DM and can cause many
complications such as diabetic foot ulcers. Although altered tissue perfusion is not the only cause of
ulcers, it contributes to the acceleration and degeneration of tissue once an ulcer forms. This paper
also covers nursing diagnoses, individualized nursing interventions, patient and treatment goals as
well as evaluation of outcomes, associated with an actual patient. I was able to treat a patient with
hyperglycemia within my critical care clinical experience. It also covers the psychosocial concepts
that influence teaching readiness, growth and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Small arteries in diabetic patients experience changes due to increased atherosclerosis. Tissue
perfusion depends upon fasting plasma glucose and fasting insulin levels which are also dependent
upon how sensitive the patient is to the insulin. Increased permeability to large molecules such as
albumin is increased in diabetes, which can be associated with hyperglycemia (Levy, et al., 2008).
Studies have shown patients with type 2 diabetes experience decreased coronary flow which is related
to hemoglobin A1C and fasting plasma glucose levels (Marketou, et al., 2008). Mild insulin resistance
can also be associated with a decrease in coronary flow. In addition, a decrease in myocardial
perfusion in diabetic patients is related to decreased blood flow. An impairment in peripheral
circulation leads to ischemia, which is associated with pain in the lower legs called intermittent
claudication, which may result in lacerations of the feet (Levy, et al., 2008). Peripheral vascular
disease (PVD) can cause thrombosis of the arteries causing tissue death. Gangrene from Diabetes
Mellitus (DM) can lead to amputations beginning in the toes and moving into the foot (Lemone,
Burke, Bauldoff, 2011).
Diabetes Mellitus is a chronic disease that has become an epidemic as it effects more and more the
population each year. DM is a group of metabolic diseases, stemmed from the Endocrine systems,
characterized by hyperglycemia

The Poem I Have By John Keats
The poem I have is To Autumn, and the author is John Keats. The direct meaning of the poem is quite
clear in the beginning of reading it; John Keats is writing a letter to autumn as he does not want it to
go and for good reason. The indirect meaning is not clear at all. I thought it could possibly be about a
relationship, but the poem just did not speak to me in this way. When I looked it up, I found people
saying that it could be a relationship, but there is not a clear answer to what the indirect meaning is.
When speaking with Professor Sartori, I started to imagine the autumn s beauty to represent that of a
woman s. The poems put an abundance of images in my head when reading it, but only because of
memories I have in autumn. I used ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The length of this poem is 3 stanzas long with 11 lines per stanza. The rhyme scheme is
ABABCDEDCCE and this is for each of the three stanzas. The emotions I feel is communicated in the
poem is sorrow, but could also be anger. There are two quotes from the poem that reach out to my
senses the most. The first would be Hedge crickets sing; and now with treble soft. , this appeals to my
hearing senses. It makes me think of loud crickets and then of silence. The second one would be
Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness , this makes me feel the mist of air you feel during this time
of the season; appealing to my touch. It was difficult to find more than three devices used in the poem.
The first and most obvious device would be personification. Odes are when the author talks to an
inanimate object, but doesn t necessarily mean they personify them. Keats does that many times in this
poem, but the first one is exemplified in this quote Close bosom friend of the maturing sun; conspiring
with him how to load and bless . This makes me picture the sun sitting there whispering to the sun as
if they are little girls in a school yard! Another device used in the poem would be alliteration,
examples of this are winnowing wind and oozing hours . The last device I found was not one that I
think I have ever heard. This one is apostrophe, apostrophe is when the poet addresses another party in
the poem. An example of this is who hath not seen thee oft amid thy store? .

The Conceptual Foundations Of Psychology
All sciences originally descended from philosophy and over the centuries the special sciences
gradually became independent of this discipline, with Psychology being one of the last of the special
sciences to separate from the parent during the 19th century (Banyard, Davies, Normal Winder, 2010).
The questions and ideas in Psychology have been of interest since the time of the ancient Greeks,
where philosophers inquired into how human beings know the world. Plato asked questions about
human motivation ( Why do we act as we do? ) and Aristotle attempted to structure the human soul
according to the five senses, imagination, common sense and memory (Leahey, 2004), which loosely
reflect the study of perception and cognition in present day psychology. Although the conceptual
foundations of psychology are to be found in philosophy, the inspiration for the creation of an
independent science of psychology came from biology. The founders of psychology took a path to the
mind through physiology, while a bigger influence came from a younger branch of biology evolution
which through a shift in focus from the contents of the mind to the function of the mind, eventually
gave rise to the different fields existing in psychology today such as psychobiology, cognitive
psychology, developmental psychology and more recently evolutionary psychology.
Although psychologists have traditionally revered William Wundt as the founder of psychology, the
historical reality is more complex.

Women s Magazines Are Littered With Beauty Advertisements
Women s magazines are littered with beauty advertisements. On one page, a mascara ad promises
thick and long lashes as a symmetrically faced woman holds the wand to her eyes. Her skin is pore
less and she appears mechanical.. Turn the page and an actress/model stands with legs the
circumference of an arm. She is modeling jeans, yet they are barely on her body. This kind of
advertising does not end at the actual advertisements. The truth is that the magazine itself is an
advertisement of its reader s inadequacy. Furthermore, the magazine as a whole serves as an
advertisement to a woman s assumed lack of confidence. Almost every product featured in popular
women s magazines is a paid placement. It s no secret that magazine publications are struggling as
more consumers migrate to online platforms. Without subscriber funding, publications are forced to
fund their company in various ways similar to how a person will work many jobs in order to pay rent.
Paid promotional articles and features fill this gap created by declining subscribers. This makes all of
the adverts and all of the articles about fat loss and shiny hair even more trivial and unsubstantial. This
issue could be excused, but it remains hard to ignore considering how much lack of diversity factors
into this nook of the publication world. Cosmopolitan s slogan is Fun. Fearless. Female. which
indicates that it is geared towards an audience of women that is young and old, multi racial, thick or
thin. The contents

History of Rock and Roll
INTRODUCTION
Rock and Roll started after the year 1955 with its roots being in Blues,
Gospel, and Jazz. This influenced vocal music, which was popular with the
African American population. Hep Harmony which added rhythm and harmony was sung by groups
such as The Mills Brothers and the Ink Spots .
Small Swing Bands or Jump Bands featured saxophone soloists and repeated phrases. These city style

John Lennon (10/9/40 12/8/80), led the Beatles as the lead singer and songwriter. Also writing the
songs for the Beatles was Paul McCartney (6/18/42 present). George Harrison (2/25/43 present) added
to the sounds of the Beatles.
In 1962, Ringo Starr (7/7/40 present) became the drummer for the band. They were now known as
The Beatles, (the Fab Four).
Their first song Love Me Do was recorded in 1962, after Ringo joined the band. In 1964, the Beatles
invaded the United States, by bringing their music here and driving the crowds wild. The Beatles
bridged the generation gap and language barriers. They were trend setters, with their style of dress and
hair changing the face of the young people. They also influenced the use of hallucinogenic drugs,
Indian music, and Eastern mysticism.
The Beatles last concert was in San Francisco in 1966. The band broke up in 1970. Lennon went on to
record solo albums and with his wife, Yoko Ono.
McCartney went on to form Paul McCartney and Wings, with his wife, Linda.
Harrison and Starr also went on to do solo albums. Ringo also starred in some films. Rumors of a
reunion were believed until the murder of John Lennon in
1980.
Some of the groups influenced by the Beatles were The Who, Cream with
Eric Clapton, and Chicago Blues. They brought out sounds such as loud music,

The Battle Of The Invasion Of Normandy
After Marshal Montgomery blockaded Rommel, whose fame was generally known as the Desert Fox
with the navy and the air force in the Strait of Sicily for more than 100 days, the Allies won the North
African Campaign on May 13, 1943. As the Allies freed for further action with the victories of about
250,000 German and Italian troops surrendered on the north coast of Africa, the British and the
American strategists were facing two options as their huge army quartered in the southern
Mediterranean (www.history.com). One of the option was put forward by the American chief,
suggesting that the Allies should transfer their forces north for the impending invasion of Europe from
the English Channel. Even though this suggestion was disapproved by the English chief who held the
opinion that the Allies should strike the Europe from the southern Italy, this strategy was later known
as the Invasion of Normandy that completely helped the Allies win the WW II. The option that the
British chief favor for finally became the strategy of the Allies first step invasion in Europe because it
not only utilized the fighter cover from air bases on British Malta, 60 miles south of Sicily, but also
saved the Allies shipping to the English Channel as the American chief suggested that. The strategy of
pressing north into Italy was vividly described by British Prime Minister Winston Churchill as
invading the the soft underbelly of Europe (www.history.com). The underbelly here, however, referred

Christianity In Beowulf
Beowulf is an exciting tale about a Scandinavian man named Beowulf, who saves the Danes from an
unconquerable monster called Grendel. It is not known who the author of Beowulf. It is theorized that
the book had more than one author over a period of time. Another theory is that Beowulf only had one
author and other writers changed or added content to the story. Beowulf has many Christian aspects.
God is brought up many times throughout the book. The different monsters also represent the different
sins that humans commit almost daily. Grendel is envy and anger, Grendel s mother is feuding, and the
dragon is greed and hoarding. Beowulf was written in the time when England was being converted to
Christianity from paganism. Because of this, there are doubts that the authors of Beowulf knew about
God. Throughout the book, there are many indications that the author(s) of Beowulf knew about God s
existence. While it is doubted, they still praised God, acknowledged that he ... Show more content on

Beowulf defeated Grendel, Hrothgar was shown Grendel s talon as proof. The king gazed upward and
thanked God for making Grendel conquerable. Hrothgar also noted that Beowulf defeated Grendel
with God s assistance. When Grendel s mother attacked the Danes after her son was killed, Hrothgar
lost his hope and faith. Beowulf assured him that they would catch Grendel s mother and avenge those
who died in the attack. Reassured, Hrothgar praised God for Beowulf s courage and his inspiring
speech. Beowulf informed the king s men that if God had not helped him, he would have died. With

The definitions range from pirate , describing the actions of the raiders from Scandinavia; some say it
is a reference to the people from Viken (Oslo Fjord); still others use the word to describe the entire
ethnic group originating in the Scandinavian countries of Norway and Sweden.
(http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2004/02/0217_040217_vikings.html) The word Viking is
actually derived from the Old Norse word vikingar and is exclusively applied to men, usually those
who sailed from Scandinavia in groups to engage in the activities of raiding and trading in Britain,
Europe and the East. (http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/ancient/vikings/women_01.shtml) nbsp; nbsp;

To An Athlete Dying Young, by A.E. Houseman and Crossing...
To An Athlete Dying Young by A.E. Houseman and Crossing The Bar by Alfred, Lord Tennyson are
poems that very similar to each other yet so different. To An Athlete Dying Young is about an athlete
who dies young and Houseman congratulates him because people will remember him forever.
Crossing the Bar is about Tennyson realizing that he is about to die and he accepts his fate. Both
poems have a similar theme of death. Both authors make clever uses of symbols such as, in To An
Athlete Dying Young, Tennyson uses a laurel plant, and a rose plant to symbolize the athlete s
accomplishments. In Crossing the Bar , Tennyson uses the sandbar to symbolize the crossing over.
However, the rhyme scheme of these poems is different. Houseman ... Show more content on

He knows that his time is coming soon but Tennyson does not want anyone to be sad because he is
going to see his pilot face to face (15). Death gives him a chance to traverse through the threshold of
life and into the afterlife. Tennyson does not think that death is the end, but a beginning because his
spirit will live on with god. He wants death to free him from his hollow shell of a body. He sees death
as a way to reach god and conveys the message that people should not fear death. Tennyson s view of
death is similar to that of Houseman s because they both feel that death is not something to mourn
over. Houseman believes that since the athlete dies very young, he will forever be remembered by
people for what he accomplished. Tennyson believes in death in which he tells people to be glad that
death has given him a chance to see god. Furthermore, both of these poems make clever uses of
symbols. In To An Athlete Dying Young, Houseman uses plants such as the laurel and the rose to
describe an athlete s accomplishments. In line 11 12 he says and early through the laurel grows/it

Theodore Roosevelt s Role Model
Rumaysa Sharif
11/03/17
President Theodore Roosevelt is one of the most widely respected and popular figures in history. From
his childhood to adulthood, he is an example of great courage, strength, perseverance and success. He
once said, The only man who never makes mistakes is a man who never does anything. Despite
having a very weak body as a child, he never gave up on himself nor his dreams. He was quite the role
model for civilians during his time and even today. As the only president from New York City, his
childhood home is in downtown Manhattan. It is obvious that he lead a very wealthy life with a loving
family. His parents were very supportive and raised their children in an intellectually stimulating

The ornaments of the parlor which include the glass chandelier is decorated with a great quantity of
cut glass prisms. Growing up, Theodore was a very sickly child. He had a severe case of asthma and
would become weak very easily. His father said You have the mind, but not the body. Without the
health of the body, the mind cannot go as far as it should. You must make your body. Theodore replied
I will make my body! without any hesitation. Thus his father installed a gym on the second floor of
their home. He also took up boxing and became very strong and physically active. He served in the
Civil War, became an author, historian, explorer, statesman and conservationist. Theodore Roosevelt s
father, Franklin Roosevelt, was part of the Union and his mother, Martha Bulloch, was a Confederate.
However, his father did not want to serve in the war because it meant he would have to shoot his wife
s two brothers who were Confederate generals. Therefore, he did what many wealthy men did during
that time, and paid two men to take his place. Even though Theodore Roosevelt looked up to his
father, this impacted him in a very negative way. Some historians even analyzed that his father buying
men to take his place is what influenced him to becoming a soldier and gave him the determination to
prove that he was a good one. As a young child, Theodore and his family went on a lot of trips to
foreign countries. Exploring these countries had a huge

Essay on The Rich Brother by Tobias Wolff
The short story, The Rich Brother, by Tobias Wolff represents the same concept that everyday people
all over the world encounter. This portrays how having siblings can be an enormous part of a persons
life. The rivalry between siblings is often very competitive, but at the same time similar to magnets.
When they are not connected it may seem they are independent and whole, but when examined closely
it is obvious they are really relying on each other to function properly. Although Pete and Donald s life
are separate and completely different, they are in fact very dependent on each other.
The meaning of dependence is the act of being influenced, relying on, or needing someone for aid or
support. Dependence is one of the main ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even thought Pete does not show caring emotions, his actions say all the words. For example: Donald
said, Pete do you ever dream about me? Pete replied with, What kind of question is that? Of course I
don t dream about you. He said untruthfully. (pg.367). This is one of the only parts in this short story
that shows the reader a very small part of Pete s soft side. Another example compares in a similar way
that Pete does in fact have a connection with his only brother Donald. There was something wrong
with me, and you were helping me out. Taking care of me. Just the two of us. I don t know where
everyone else was supposed to be. Pete said. (pg. 369) If someone were to analyze only this part of the
story it would portray that in his dream he depended on Donald. When he says it was just the two of
them, it gives the reader an idea that was the way it was supposed to be, that Pete didn t need anyone
else in the world to help him but only needed the person he could truly rely upon. Dependency is one
of the main concealed habits between siblings, not only growing up, but continuously throughout one
others life. Another common inconspicuous idiosyncrasy is rivalry. Rivalry is often associated in
competition including sports, events, and mostly a trait that seems siblings are born with. The urge to
be the best at something or to be noticed is commonly seen in children, especially the ones similar in
age that always strive for attention. In this story, Wolff includes

Why Carter Center Won The Nobel Peace Prize
Nobel Peace Prize What would you do if your entire nation is being ravaged by a disease that you don
t know how to treat? That s where The Carter Center stepped in to aid struggling families in Africa.
Led by former president Jimmy Carter and his wife, they were able to bring cures to villages that have
none. Some people may say that the Carters just want to gain media attention but I will prove that is
not the case. The purpose of this essay is to show why I believe the Carter Center should be awarded
the Nobel Peace Prize.
The first reason why The Carter Center should win the Nobel Peace prize is they assist people in
thousands of villages with diseases that don t have a cure in their country. The biggest epidemic that
the Carter Center was involved in was the Guinea worm disease. In just one years time the Center
reduced the disease by a whopping 99 percent! That number decreased from 3.5 million to less then
11,000. Since the Center has many people to help throughout the world, they teach the people who are
at the center of the disease to cure it themselves. To do this, the Carter Center train volunteers within
the thousands of villages who are the main reason the diseases are cured. However, this not the only
reason the Carter Center should win the Nobel Peace Prize. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

million dollars (M=$4.16 million, SD=$2.99 million) was spent across the 54 multimedia rights
agreements during the 2015 2016 school year. The smallest financial payout is $375,000 and belongs
to Northern Illinois, while the largest contract $12,358,087 million, belonging to the University of
Texas. The disparity among institutions becomes more evident when analyzing the multimedia rights
contracts. Of the $224.6 million dollars spent during the 2015 2016 season, $182.3 million was spent
on institutions who compete in one of the Power 5 conferences, meaning that the 31 Power 5
institutions in this study receive 81.2% of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In terms of total spending, IMG is followed by Learfield (sum = $82.3 million), JMI (sum = $11.9
million). It is important to note that JMI is relatively new when it comes to college multimedia rights
contracts, and only has two institution, which is reflected in their low total payout. However, as
illustrated in Table VI, JMI has a higher average payout than the two larger companies, IMG and
Learfield, (M=$5.93 million, SD= $4.7 million). JMI will see an increase in their average payout
during the 2016 2017 as well as during the 2017 2018 seasons with addition of Clemson who will
make $2.6 million to $7.7 million during the respective seasons. IMG and Learfield are relatively
similar in average payouts, with IMG averaging $4.53 million (SD = $3.52 million) and Learfield
averaging $3.74 million (SD= $1.87 million). IMG and Learfield, both with over 20 contracts a piece
have a far greater range of contract sizes, with IMG controlling both the smallest payout, $375,000,
and the largest payout, $12.36 million. The variables outlined in Table VII were used in an attempt to
explain the effect that numerous factors have on the guaranteed rights fee that a university receives
from a third party rights holder. Those variables were separated into four categories; property related,
football performance, basketball performance, and demand indicators. From there, a Pearson product

Essay on Trademark Inc. 03-05
Re: Case 03 05, Accounting Issues
Background
Trademark, Inc., a public and growing global corporation, creates, assembles, and disburses their
products through four main divisions of their corporation: Greeting Cards and Stationery, Calendars,
Party Goods, and Specialty Gifts. Their core business comes from their customers in drug stores and
supermarket chains. In the early to mid 1990 s, Trademark saw significant growth in response to their
IPO issuance in 1992, however, since 1994, they have seen a flat and ultimate declining growth in
their product.

Also, according to 605 15 25 1 F, it is acceptable that future amounts be reasonable estimated.
Secondly, the difference between actual and estimated returns is less than 5%, (FASB ASC 250 10 S99
1) therefore, according to GAAP the difference is immaterial and the accounting procedure is
permissible. Lastly, the estimated cost of keeping detailed records for each product line of each
division may outweigh the benefits of accurate rates of returns. Option #2: Trademark, Inc., after
responding to complaints and the high rate of returns, relationships with customers increased and they
received less returns. Trademark, Inc. s ability to make a reasonable estimate of future returns was
impaired because they altered their shipping method, but did not change how they estimated for the
return of damaged goods. According to FASB ASC 605 15 25 3, the ability to make a reasonable
estimate of future returns may be impaired if there have been changes in the selling entities policies or
relationships with customers. Since Nancy has created a reasonable and acceptable estimate factoring
in the impact of new packaging materials, Trademark, Inc. should follow Nancy s guidance.
Furthermore, according to 605 15 45 1, for any sales made with a right of return in which the criteria
in paragraph 605 15 25 1 are met revenue and cost of sales reported in the income statement shall be
reduced to reflect estimated returns. The difference between management s estimate

Disparities In The Disturbing Labor Market
From 1950 to 2018, there are very little changes in the disturbing labor market, in fact, today trends
have stopped flowing and the wage gap between races may be the most disheartening. Moreover, the
gap economics and wages have become even more disparity. Right after World War II, many
Americans were encouraged by the steady and significant economic progress, including for Blacks. In
1950, many big factories just start up and need workers So, many African American were offered the
steady wages with higher than the pay earned by there parents. But, still, under Jim Crow, African
Americans were relegated to the status of second class citizens. African Americans were not allowed

Tesla is not the innovator of electric car. The technology has already existed since 1959, but due to the

Star girl is a very unique person. From the beginning she was a fish out of water. She has her own
personality and doesn t want to be like anyone else and not many people act like her. One way she is
unique is she knows every kid in the schools birthday and sings to them at lunch. She also shows
conformity when she is with her friends. She is the new girl at school and that means she has a tough

Reflection Of The Piano
For this concert report, I am going to be focusing on the last piece of the concert, Beethoven s
Symphony no. 5 in C Minor, op. 67. This piece was written in the classical period. I am choosing this
piece to focus on because when I heard it, I felt that I was being told a story of a war and specifically
of a single soldier and his experience. Beethoven s Symphony no. 5 in C Minor, op. 67 has 4
movements throughout the piece. The first movement is Allegro con brio, the second Andante con
moto, and the third and fourth are both Allegro. The first movement, Allegro con Brio, starts the story
off in a battle focusing on a single soldier and his fight. The tempo was quite fast throughout the
movement making the idea of a battle taking place set in. The program has already stated that the
piece was in C Minor, but you can tell that it is by the sense of conflict and pain that is heard
throughout the piece. This first movement has a great variation of dynamics as well. There are long
sections of fortissimo that, to me, sound like the intense fighting, and then there are sections of piano
and mezzo piano that, to me, sound like lulls in the scene where the soldier notices something very sad
right before he is whisked back into the fight. This sense of a fight scene is also noted with the
technical styling of the movement. During the intense fights the melody is staccato and accented, and
during the points that the soldier can take a breath and look around at the horror unfolding

Hades: King of the Underworld
Around 1100 BC Greek and Roman people began telling myths and stories about Heroes and
gods/goddesses. This was the beginning of Greek Mythology. At first people were told stories about
Heroes and Gods so that they would have someone to believe in and worship. Then Greek Mythology
became a way of teaching lessons to everyone and explaining natural phenomena. One of the gods that
was created out of these myths was Hades. Hades has been called the King of the Underworld and the
Greek God of the Dead. Hades was a very interesting god that, unlike other gods of the time, was not
worshipped but rather feared.

than be king over all the perished dead (March 176). Another example of what the people thought of

The Energy Development Of Greening Energy Sector
Greening energy sector in India has started through the implementation of various policies and acts in
energy sector. The electricity Act which was enforced in 2003 for the generation of renewable energy,
providing sufficient support and facilitating its purchase was the first formal process in promoting
clean energy (solar energy in India). Other energy policies and acts like National Tariff policy 2006,
National rural electrification policies 2006 and semiconductor policy 2007 have provided ground for
the establishment of standalone off grid renewable energy and also subsidised manufacturing of solar
panels (solar energy in India).
The installed capacity of solar power plant which was 161 MW in 2010 increased up to 4097 MW till
July 2015 (Phillips, 2014).During the year 2014 2015, there has been 42 % increase in the solar power
installed capacity adding up 1112 MW in the renewable energy pool (Power brochure India). Recently
on August 2015, India has turned The Cochin International Airport into entirely solar powered airport
producing 48 KWh of energy which is assumed to save 300,000 tons of Equivalent carbon in the next
25 years (Greenberg, 2015). This has been considered as a great achievement in clean energy
development in India and around world. Madhya Pradesh, Gujrat, Rajasthan, are the leading states in
solar energy production in India. With the aim to reduce the dependency in conventional fuel, Ministry

water view, two carports, a hot tub, a BBQ, dishwasher, microwave, washer and dryer, garbage

Functional Assessment Methods
1) A functional assessment of a problem behavior would be gathering information about antecedents
and consequences that relate to the behavior. It is important to conduct functional assessment because
it gives you information that helps you determine why a problem behavior is happening.
2) Four possible functions of problem behavior include: Social positive reinforcement (this is
delivered by another person after target behavior, which increases the likelihood of the behavior),
social negative reinforcement (when someone gets rid of an aversive stimulus, which makes a
behavior more likely to occur), automatic positive reinforcement (when a behavior produces positive
reinforced consequences, which increases likelihood of behavior), and automatic negative

Only a small number of citizen backed the anti war movement at first; however, the exorbitant number

The US is seeking to extend the duty free status of international online transactions to protect the

at the earliest possible date to extend the current moratorium on customs duties for electronic trade.
In testimony to the Senate foreign relations sub committee on Europe, Ms Esserman said duty free

Although this tension is an old story, Zeiler takes it further and argues that the Commonwealth had a
major hand in shaping the GATT order (p.197). It is a complex story of negotiations taking place
under conditions of extreme difficulty, and the author has worked diligently in the American, British
and Commonwealth country archives.
There is, however, a lot that raises the eyebrows of the economic historian. Within a few lines of the
opening we read that, global business leaders ... seek a commercial regime unfettered by barriers .
This is rather the antithesis of the conventional understanding of businessmen almost invariably (and
nowhere more so than in the US), seeking protection. And running against the conventional view
(without seemingly noticing) is the idea that America is the home and inspiration of free trade. The
British in the 1930s opted for, Regulated, rather than American style market, capitalism ... (p.20). Or
again, Free trade frightened the British (p.39). And richest of all, The British simply would not accept
the free trade doctrine (p.24). Zeiler suggests that free trade was key to the American economy
ignoring the fact that America had been one of the most protectionist countries for most of its history.
This is unfortunate and results in a distortion of the argument, for of the GATT negotiations Zeiler say
s the British were not willing partners in pursuit of lower trade barriers. At certain times that may have

By allowing Liesl to escape from trouble when she sneaks out of the house, Maria shows the

conspicuously, Maria is incredibly sympathetic, but she is also extremely imaginative. Maria has a
vast imagination when she makes play clothes for the children from the curtains which hang in her
room. This proves Maria is imaginative because knowing the Von Trapp children have sailor suit
uniforms of their own, she makes clothes that are not in the children s social class, to wear to their fun
adventures for instance boating and tree climbing. Although the Captain does not give her fabric for
the clothes, Maria s creative imagination develops ideas to make them. Captain explains that [the

imaginative because she desires the children to have a marvelous time and forget about all the rules

France In World War 1 Essay
France was a crucial part of World War 1. In 1914, France was an extraordinary force. France was the
first European country to move from a feudal state towards a nation state. One of the geographic
features of France includes the French Alps; it made it harder for other countries to invade France so,
they had to go through Belgium because it was a flat country. France did not benefit from the
protection of saltwater frontiers, such as: Mediterranean Sea, Atlantic Ocean, and other rivers. France
Germany, Russia and Austria were separated from each other by rivers or mountains which resulted in
their safety residing in their armies. The population of France in 1914 was 39.6 million; which was
just under 40 million.
By the end of the war, France had lost a little over a million soldiers and injured 4 million soldiers. At
the time, France was 248,573 sq. miles, which had doubled between the years of 1910 and 1914.

  • 2. Cartierville Urban Analysis Introduction The area of the city I chose to analyze is located in Cartierville. The specific area spans about four blocs from Dudemaine street all the way up to Salaberry, it is bordered by Rue Fillion and St Germain. This block of the borough of Cartierville is mostly residential and suburban but if there would only be that aspect this paper wouldn t be too interesting. So I decided to go one block over to Obrien which has more of a commercial side to it. So we can see the shift between the two types of areas. INITIAL EXPECTATIONS/FIRST IMPRESSIONS At first glance this neighbourhood this neighbourhood seemed very quiet, very boring. And for the most part this is true. Most of the area studied is residential space and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... On this corner there are two corner stores, a police station and duplexes starting to appear. This bring the feeling of the city (busyness, hustle and bustle) to the quaint little suburb. And I fell it is the apartment buildings that trap you in and make you feel uncomfortable. This is where James Kuntsler s and Montgomery s ideas of happy cities come into play. For the most part the area is a happy place, nothing too ugly that you just can t stand to be around. As you approach that corner the apartment buildings are sort of the ugly duckling, they weren t built with the most fashionable facade; a brick wall with some windows. Not too visually pleasing, then you have the police station and again the front of the building is alright but go to the side3 and you want to walk as fast as you can to get past ... • 4. The Complications Associated With Diabetes Mellitus ( Dm ) Abstract This paper explores the complications associated with Diabetes Mellitus (DM) including altered tissue perfusion. Altered tissue perfusion occurs as a result of DM and can cause many complications such as diabetic foot ulcers. Although altered tissue perfusion is not the only cause of ulcers, it contributes to the acceleration and degeneration of tissue once an ulcer forms. This paper also covers nursing diagnoses, individualized nursing interventions, patient and treatment goals as well as evaluation of outcomes, associated with an actual patient. I was able to treat a patient with hyperglycemia within my critical care clinical experience. It also covers the psychosocial concepts that influence teaching readiness, growth and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Small arteries in diabetic patients experience changes due to increased atherosclerosis. Tissue perfusion depends upon fasting plasma glucose and fasting insulin levels which are also dependent upon how sensitive the patient is to the insulin. Increased permeability to large molecules such as albumin is increased in diabetes, which can be associated with hyperglycemia (Levy, et al., 2008). Studies have shown patients with type 2 diabetes experience decreased coronary flow which is related to hemoglobin A1C and fasting plasma glucose levels (Marketou, et al., 2008). Mild insulin resistance can also be associated with a decrease in coronary flow. In addition, a decrease in myocardial perfusion in diabetic patients is related to decreased blood flow. An impairment in peripheral circulation leads to ischemia, which is associated with pain in the lower legs called intermittent claudication, which may result in lacerations of the feet (Levy, et al., 2008). Peripheral vascular disease (PVD) can cause thrombosis of the arteries causing tissue death. Gangrene from Diabetes Mellitus (DM) can lead to amputations beginning in the toes and moving into the foot (Lemone, Burke, Bauldoff, 2011). Diabetes Mellitus is a chronic disease that has become an epidemic as it effects more and more the population each year. • 6. The Poem I Have By John Keats The poem I have is To Autumn, and the author is John Keats. The direct meaning of the poem is quite clear in the beginning of reading it; John Keats is writing a letter to autumn as he does not want it to go and for good reason. The indirect meaning is not clear at all. I thought it could possibly be about a relationship, but the poem just did not speak to me in this way. When I looked it up, I found people saying that it could be a relationship, but there is not a clear answer to what the indirect meaning is. When speaking with Professor Sartori, I started to imagine the autumn s beauty to represent that of a woman s. The poems put an abundance of images in my head when reading it, but only because of memories I have in autumn. I used ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The length of this poem is 3 stanzas long with 11 lines per stanza. The rhyme scheme is ABABCDEDCCE and this is for each of the three stanzas. The emotions I feel is communicated in the poem is sorrow, but could also be anger. There are two quotes from the poem that reach out to my senses the most. The first would be Hedge crickets sing; and now with treble soft. , this appeals to my hearing senses. It makes me think of loud crickets and then of silence. The second one would be Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness , this makes me feel the mist of air you feel during this time of the season; appealing to my touch. It was difficult to find more than three devices used in the poem. The first and most obvious device would be personification. Odes are when the author talks to an inanimate object, but doesn t necessarily mean they personify them. Keats does that many times in this poem, but the first one is exemplified in this quote Close bosom friend of the maturing sun; conspiring with him how to load and bless . This makes me picture the sun sitting there whispering to the sun as if they are little girls in a school yard! Another device used in the poem would be alliteration, examples of this are winnowing wind and oozing hours . The last device I found was not one that I think I have ever heard. This one is apostrophe, apostrophe is when the poet addresses another party in the poem. An example of this is who hath not seen thee oft amid thy store? . ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Conceptual Foundations Of Psychology All sciences originally descended from philosophy and over the centuries the special sciences gradually became independent of this discipline, with Psychology being one of the last of the special sciences to separate from the parent during the 19th century (Banyard, Davies, Normal Winder, 2010). The questions and ideas in Psychology have been of interest since the time of the ancient Greeks, where philosophers inquired into how human beings know the world. Plato asked questions about human motivation ( Why do we act as we do? ) and Aristotle attempted to structure the human soul according to the five senses, imagination, common sense and memory (Leahey, 2004), which loosely reflect the study of perception and cognition in present day psychology. Although the conceptual foundations of psychology are to be found in philosophy, the inspiration for the creation of an independent science of psychology came from biology. The founders of psychology took a path to the mind through physiology, while a bigger influence came from a younger branch of biology evolution which through a shift in focus from the contents of the mind to the function of the mind, eventually gave rise to the different fields existing in psychology today such as psychobiology, cognitive psychology, developmental psychology and more recently evolutionary psychology. Although psychologists have traditionally revered William Wundt as the founder of psychology, the historical reality is more complex. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

We are, she giggled picking up her drink and sipping it dry. You re out, he said. Let me go get you another. Daniel began to feel like he was sobering up in a matter of seconds. He hated when this happened, and with Maggie it happened quite a lot. Send him away, he mentally told her. I can get my own! Maggie replied giggling. Daniel couldn t tell if she was trying to flirt. I ll go to the bar with you then, I need a drink, too. Before Daniel knew it, the man stood up and headed toward the bar with Maggie tailing behind him. He finished his drink in a few big gulps and hoped Maggie would remember to get him one, too even though he had a feeling she had forgotten about him. They leaned against the bar, laughing, talking, not bothering to get the bartender s attention. He said something that made her throw her head back, laugh, shake her hair and give him a big smile. She said something back to him and gently rested her hand on his bicep. Typical. Daniel wasn t jealous of what was going on. Daniel was pissed that Maggie just left him, mid conversation, for a stranger. He felt awkward sat at the table by himself. And if they came back, he would feel like a third wheel no one needed. • 9. Women s Magazines Are Littered With Beauty Advertisements Women s magazines are littered with beauty advertisements. On one page, a mascara ad promises thick and long lashes as a symmetrically faced woman holds the wand to her eyes. Her skin is pore less and she appears mechanical.. Turn the page and an actress/model stands with legs the circumference of an arm. She is modeling jeans, yet they are barely on her body. This kind of advertising does not end at the actual advertisements. The truth is that the magazine itself is an advertisement of its reader s inadequacy. Furthermore, the magazine as a whole serves as an advertisement to a woman s assumed lack of confidence. Almost every product featured in popular women s magazines is a paid placement. It s no secret that magazine publications are struggling as more consumers migrate to online platforms. Without subscriber funding, publications are forced to fund their company in various ways similar to how a person will work many jobs in order to pay rent. Paid promotional articles and features fill this gap created by declining subscribers. This makes all of the adverts and all of the articles about fat loss and shiny hair even more trivial and unsubstantial. This issue could be excused, but it remains hard to ignore considering how much lack of diversity factors into this nook of the publication world. Cosmopolitan s slogan is Fun. Fearless. Female. which indicates that it is geared towards an audience of women that is young and old, multi racial, thick or thin. The contents ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 19. Essay on The Rich Brother by Tobias Wolff The short story, The Rich Brother, by Tobias Wolff represents the same concept that everyday people all over the world encounter. This portrays how having siblings can be an enormous part of a persons life. The rivalry between siblings is often very competitive, but at the same time similar to magnets. When they are not connected it may seem they are independent and whole, but when examined closely it is obvious they are really relying on each other to function properly. Although Pete and Donald s life are separate and completely different, they are in fact very dependent on each other. The meaning of dependence is the act of being influenced, relying on, or needing someone for aid or support. Dependence is one of the main ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Even thought Pete does not show caring emotions, his actions say all the words. For example: Donald said, Pete do you ever dream about me? Pete replied with, What kind of question is that? Of course I don t dream about you. He said untruthfully. (pg.367). This is one of the only parts in this short story that shows the reader a very small part of Pete s soft side. Another example compares in a similar way that Pete does in fact have a connection with his only brother Donald. There was something wrong with me, and you were helping me out. Taking care of me. Just the two of us. I don t know where everyone else was supposed to be. Pete said. (pg. 369) If someone were to analyze only this part of the story it would portray that in his dream he depended on Donald. When he says it was just the two of them, it gives the reader an idea that was the way it was supposed to be, that Pete didn t need anyone else in the world to help him but only needed the person he could truly rely upon. Dependency is one of the main concealed habits between siblings, not only growing up, but continuously throughout one others life. Another common inconspicuous idiosyncrasy is rivalry. Rivalry is often associated in competition including sports, events, and mostly a trait that seems siblings are born with. The urge to be the best at something or to be noticed is commonly seen in children, especially the ones similar in age that always strive for attention. In this story, Wolff includes ... That s where The Carter Center stepped in to aid struggling families in Africa. Led by former president Jimmy Carter and his wife, they were able to bring cures to villages that have none. Some people may say that the Carters just want to gain media attention but I will prove that is not the case. The purpose of this essay is to show why I believe the Carter Center should be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. The first reason why The Carter Center should win the Nobel Peace prize is they assist people in thousands of villages with diseases that don t have a cure in their country. The biggest epidemic that the Carter Center was involved in was the Guinea worm disease. In just one years time the Center reduced the disease by a whopping 99 percent! That number decreased from 3.5 million to less then 11,000. Since the Center has many people to help throughout the world, they teach the people who are at the center of the disease to cure it themselves. I am choosing this piece to focus on because when I heard it, I felt that I was being told a story of a war and specifically of a single soldier and his experience. Beethoven s Symphony no. 5 in C Minor, op. 67 has 4 movements throughout the piece. The first movement is Allegro con brio, the second Andante con moto, and the third and fourth are both Allegro. The first movement, Allegro con Brio, starts the story off in a battle focusing on a single soldier and his fight. The tempo was quite fast throughout the movement making the idea of a battle taking place set in. The program has already stated that the piece was in C Minor, but you can tell that it is by the sense of conflict and pain that is heard throughout the piece. This first movement has a great variation of dynamics as well. There are long sections of fortissimo that, to me, sound like the intense fighting, and then there are sections of piano and mezzo piano that, to me, sound like lulls in the scene where the soldier notices something very sad right before he is whisked back into the fight. This sense of a fight scene is also noted with the technical styling of the movement. This is rather the antithesis of the conventional understanding of businessmen almost invariably (and nowhere more so than in the US), seeking protection. And running against the conventional view (without seemingly noticing) is the idea that America is the home and inspiration of free trade. The British in the 1930s opted for, Regulated, rather than American style market, capitalism ... (p.20). Or again, Free trade frightened the British (p.39). And richest of all, The British simply would not accept the free trade doctrine (p.24). Zeiler suggests that free trade was key to the American economy ignoring the fact that America had been one of the most protectionist countries for most of its history. This is unfortunate and results in a distortion of the argument, for of the GATT negotiations Zeiler say s the British were not willing partners in pursuit of lower trade barriers.
