2. Lights can cause a variety of protential spoilage!!
Sunlight with UV ray definitely is the No. 1 killer。
Incandescent light is the most frequent one that we contact with。
Others like, halogen light, neon light, fluorescent light, any strong lights。
All of the lights above can adversely react with phenolic compounds in wine and create
“wine faults”。
That's why the bottles we see are in the normal norm -- Brown Color or deeper colors.
Wines packed in Clear, light green glass or blue colored bottles are the most vulnerable
to light。
Avoid direct light shot is a smart choice!
Don't put your wine in a kitchen fridge!
Humidity around 65%to 75% is the optimal range to save wine, and help cork
enclosure from drying out.
Should the cork begin to dry out, it can allow oxygen to seepinto the ullage space
and possibly causing wine to spoil or Oxidize。
However, excessvie humidity can put the label in the risk of hindering the ID or hurting
potential resale value, and the cork may go spoiled!
3. Suitable temperature for wine
Temperature: Wine is very susceptible to change in temp swings, which can
cause adverse chemical reactions in the wine that may lead to a variety of
wine faults. Definitely it can not excess 25℃(77°F) in a long time, it may be
spoiled or become “cooked”, and develop off-flavors that tastes raisiny or
stewed. If expose to a very cold temp, wine might freeze and expand,
causing the cork to be pushed out or the bottle to crack。Different kinds of
wines have different optimal temp range. With regards to the study, the
appropriate ranges are shown as below:
Champagne
Off-sweet and
sweet white wine Off-dry white wine Dry white wine
Sweet and
off-sweet wines Brandy Off-dry red wine Dry red wine

21. To grow cigars is to form an optimal environment according to their features, to allow
them mellowed, or to slow changes inside of them.
Theoretically, cigars need to save in the conditions of “two 70%s”, which means the
comparative humidity should be adjusted around 70%, the comparative temperature is
around 70℉ (20℃). The superior limit is 26℃ (78.8℉), over than this value, the cigars
are in the risk of a high potentiality to raise worms; the lower limit is 14℃ (57.2℉), lower
than this value, cigars would stop mellowing. The lower limit of humidity is 55%, lower
than it, cigars would go drying, and become bitter flavor; if over than 75%, cigars would
properly go mouldy.
Despite different cigars have different demands, most of them fit in the scope above.
The above script is only for reference.
