The LiveTextAccess project aims to develop open training materials for real-time subtitlers and respeakers. A consortium of higher education institutions and companies from several European countries are collaborating on the project, which is funded by the Erasmus+ program. The project will create skills standards for subtitlers, develop a modular online curriculum and training materials, pilot online courses, and establish a certification scheme. Outputs include skills cards, online educational content and resources, and a framework for validating and assessing the training program. The goal is to meet labor market needs for real-time subtitling and respeaking across different contexts and industries.
