2. Considerations
There are several considerations I need to understand when producing my CD/Digipak. One of
these is the cost. Costs can vary in production, namely the printing costs to print the front and back
covers, the spine and other additional prints that have to be made. This can be quite
expensive, which is wise to print in bulk but because I’m not and only producing a single
digipak, costs will be kept to a minimal.
Available resources is another. I will have to develop my skills in Adobe Photoshop and other image
editing software in order to produce something that I feel is effective and meets my brief. The
available resources I have considered isn’t just the software however but also any paper and arts
‘n’ crafts I’ll be using to design my digipak. It would also help creating and making the right
dimensions, similarly with a blueprint.
Quantity is another consideration and since I am only creating one for this unit’s purposes, so that
is clear but audience and target market is a whole different thing.
I am to create it for males and females, teenagers and have the genre to my liking so I’ll have to
make the digipak have that in mind. My target market is mostly to teenagers aged between 13-
17, with equal consideration to males and females and with legal and ethnical issues, I will need to
make sure I produce something that I don’t just like and feel that it’s original but is not a blatant
copy of another ones work but I will possibly take heavy consideration from another album
artwork if I feel it’s very effective.
