LO1.2 Recognising Differences
2. Recognising Differences
There is a difference between the use of these techniques and materials that are
used in print based media production for CD covers and Digipaks. For example, such
printing techniques such as InkJet and LaserJet were not invented until the 1970s, so
when cd covers were produced, some of them had to be produced with hand
drawings. This is why when you look at earlier CD covers they aren’t as grand as they
are now. Today we have the power of rather advanced computers that can help,
even the smallest of bands, create a decent looking CD cover and put it into
production with programs such as Adobe Photoshop. The differences mostly lie in
with the time and the materials/resources that were available at the time.
