Mission
The Larned Middle School Library will be an inviting, user-friendly hub providing
opportunities for active, engaging and challenging learning for students and staff
through various media resources, programming and collaboration. The LMS Library
will provide a quality program that will enable students to be lifelong learners and
enhance the curriculum and technology standards of Larned Middle School.

Student Library Orientations--Students learned about changes in library guidelines and
checkout policies. They also learned about the William Allen White Program. Details are

Yearly Goals were established and shared with staff and students.
Complete the LMS Policy and Procedure Manual on a wiki for public viewing--
along with the library policies and procedures, this manual will contain video
tutorials to be utilized in training new library staff and TAs
Promote the new and ongoing programs and resources available to the staff
and students
Complete the library website set-up, including both static and non-static
Begin work on shifting the library shelving into a Book Store model
Continue to develop and promote collaboration with the teachers to help
enhance student learning opportunities
Library staff began work on shifting to the book store model in the fiction section. All
books in the fiction section will be labeled and grouped according to their genre type. We
are also using a face out display to promote various book titles.
