AN ESSAY ON THE CONTRACT BETWEEN FAIR WORK AUSTRALIA LEGISLATION AND

Differentiation between Fair Work Australia and WorkChoice
Fair Work Australia Fair Work Australia (FWA) is the new government industrial relations institution
established by the Rudd Government s Fair Work Act 2009. It replaced WorkChoice act on 1 July
2009. This essay will compare and contrast FWA and WorkChoice from the theory of unitarism and
pluralism. And discuss the transition of industrial relation system of Australia based on these two
legislations.

Finally if employer is find illegal on unfair dismissal. It may order reinstatement or the payment of
compensation up to 26 week s pay (to a maximum of $54150) to the employee if reinstatement would
be inappropriate in the given circumstances (Loudoun, 2009, p80). Mark Phillips (2009) stated that All
workers have protection after a six month qualifying period (12 months for small businesses with 15
full time equivalent staff or less) and The exemption from unfair dismissal when sackings occur for
operational reasons will be removed. This was seen as the major improvement on WorkChoices. By
contrast, under WorkChoice Laws the coverage of the unfair dismissal laws was as less as to only
business employing more than 100 employees (Loudoun, 2009, p79). So this law leads to that more
unfair treatment of employees when they were dismissed as indicated by the decline of unfair
dismissal application to the Industrial Relation Commission of NSW (IRC of NSW 2006, p.11) and
the AIRC (AIRC 2007).
Rudd government retained the restriction of union right of entry to workplaces, and restrictions on
workers right to strike (Ross Gittins, 2007), But union right of entry under Fair Work Australia is
wider than of WorkChoice, FWA deals with the right of entry disputes regarding officials of a trade

FD Proposed Addition Updating Request
This document is a proposed addition to the P26 FD RPTS Office of the State Auditor.vX.X (FD)
The purpose of this document is to outline the procedure for requesting changes to the monthly data
that is outlined in the FD document. This is for new field and table requests from the Office of the
State Auditor (OSA) to DHHS.
This does not include requests to fix a field that is reporting incorrect data (IE the forward facing
system shows a different value then the monthly data). This request also does not include reporting of
defects in the system (IE items that show the same in both the forward facing and monthly data but are
deemed to be calculated incorrectly by the system.)
Types of changes:

IE: a waterfall of tabs to click on to get to the provided screenshot(s).
3) The request will include the time period it is for.
a. All requests are assumed to be for data moving forward. IE: that the new fields or tables will be
needed every month going forward.
i. If the request is for a one time item (IE: for a special audit or one time audit) then the request should
not be added to the monthly data files. Instead it should go through the normal data request path for
OSA to request data from DHHS.
b. The request will state if it is for one of the following time periods
i. Current State Fiscal Year
1. This will be require the new data to be re sent to OSA for all of the months of the current State
Fiscal Year
a. State Fiscal Year (SFY) is July 1, through June, 30th. ii. Next State Fiscal Year
1. This will mean that the new data will start with the next July data file
a. DHHS may start sending the field or table with remaining files for the current SFY, but would not
retro it back to the beginning of the current SFY.
i. This may be necessary to vet the new field or table before it needs to go live iii. Past State Fiscal
Years
1. This will be require the new data to be re sent to OSA for all of the months of data back to the
beginning of NCFAST
c. The request will state if it needs to be rushed.
i. Any request that does not state that it needs to be rushed will be assumed to not be a rush.
d. The request will state a date that

Essay Skylock in Shakespeare´s Merchant of Venice Villian
One of the earliest idioms taught to students of all ages is Don t judge a book by its cover. Oftentimes,
a quote like that can easily be disregarded, however, it is applicable to people who aren t always who
they seem to be. Shakespeare s play the Merchant of Venice is an outstanding work that contains a
very strange villain in Shylock, who is hated by all, although he has not wronged them in the past.
Thusly, his habits and personality evolved from his interactions with the Venetian populous. By
examining the changes Shylock displays in tone, Shylock the villain s motivations can be seen and
ultimately display that no matter how twisted a person is or may seem, the motivations behind their
actions indicate that innately they have a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This correlates almost directly to how most of the other major characters of Merchant of Venice also
treat him (e.g. Antonio). However, as is with most cases, there are two sides to each story. To
understand the motivation behind Shylock s obsession with money, the beginning of the play has to be
referenced. In Shylock s negotiations with Bassanio and Antonio, Shylock recalls, Signior Antonio,
many a time and oft in the Rialto you have rated me about my moneys and my usances... You call me
misbeliever, cutthroat dog and spet upon my Jewish gabardine... You called me dog; and for these
courtesies I ll lend you thus much moneys? (1.3.104 126). From this passage, Shylock s motivations
are presented clearly. He loathes Antonio for how poorly he has treated him in the past, insulting both
his character and his religion. Therefore, the motivating factor in lending money to Bassanio is so
Shylock has the ability to hold some form of power over Antonio. Therein lies the key to Shylock s
obsession with wealth. In the referenced Venetian culture, Jewish people were persecuted for their
religion and were branded unsavory by the predominantly Christian community. Shylock, being
ridiculed and domineered his whole life by his Christian counterparts, saw an opportunity to finally
even the odds and jumped at it. Shylock clings onto his wealth because it is the only thing that gives
him power in Venetian

Eric Foner Give Me Liberty
According to Eric Foner in his book Give Me Liberty! , there were major arguments against the
Constitution put forth by the anti federalists. The anti federalists were opponents of ratification who
insisted that the Constitution shifted the balance between liberty and power too far in the direction of
the latter. Basically their main belief was that a too powerful central government is a threat to liberty
and will continue to influence American political culture. Anti federalists were state politicians and
included Samuel Adams, John Hancock, and Patrick Henry. They drew their support from small
farmers in more isolated rural areas such as the Hudson Valley of New York, western Massachusetts,
and the southern backcountry. They repeatedly

William Gibson s The Miracle Worker
In the book The Miracle Worker by William Gibson, Gibson utilizes diverse dramatic technique, props
and finger spelling in order to represent the internal and external conflicts between Helen Keller, and
Annie Sullivan throughout the play. Annie, the miracle worker who used to be blind has an external
conflict with Helen, who is blind, deaf, and partly mute. However, throughout the act, the relationship
starts to build and develops to a happy ending. Annie, who lost her loving brother Jimmie, suffers
from flashbacks which she cannot easily overcome the tragic memories. However, throughout the
book, Annie starts to overcome the bad memories by the interaction with Helen. In act 1, the external
conflict between Helen and Annie is significantly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Annie! Annie, don t let them take me Annie!...But this voice is real, in the present, and Annie comes
up out of her horror, clearing her head with a final shake (22). This depicts Annie s painful memories
about her dead brother Jimmie on the past. It is inferable that Jimmie was taken from some stranger
and this was a very horrible event for Annie since the bad memory even comes out in her dream.
Addition to that it is also inferable that Annie regrets herself for not saving her brother no matter how
bad her condition was also. The memory of the tragic past remains to be her inner conflict. I crawled
in her like a drowned rat, I thought I died when Jimmie died, that I d Never again come alive. (20).
This quote is another example of Annie s tragic memory of the moment when Jimmie died but she got
to continue with her living. For Annie, this memory of her loving brother dead will be never be
forgotten in her life. This inner conflict which Annie will carry through her whole life leads her to be
more perseverance and caring characteristics when educating Helen to communicate. In act 2, Annie
continues with her inner conflict of flashback of her brother Jimmie, but she now gets stronger to
overcome the past experience. You said we ll be together, forever and ever and ever...Goodbye

Globalization The Nfl
Realization/Opportunity from the Failed Attempt After 16 years, the NFL has been investigating the
past failure, and looking at new and different avenues in order to realize its objective, to globalize the
league international. This is put into better terms by Richard Sandomir from The New York Times, he
stated, But N.F.L. Europa, born 16 years ago as the World League of American Football, lost money,
ran through television partners, narrowed its trans Atlantic focus largely to Germany and finally was
shuttered yesterday. The NFL s strategy will shift to playing regular season games overseas.

As a result, all players would have to have immigration clearance to play there. Currently, NFL
players only need a valid passport to participate on a visa granted for one time sporting events.
Permanent London players, playing a full home game schedule, would have to secure working visas,
which are much harder to acquire. Further, players with criminal records, like Michael Vick, may be
denied entry altogether. Therefore, teams may be forced to leave some of their best players behind
when they travel to play in London. It is also questionable whether the NFL could impose its rule that
a player has to be out of high school for at least three years before they can be eligible for the NFL
draft. That rule could run into conflict with existing laws in the U.K. and other places in the European
Union. Finally, many of these issues would affect wages and working conditions of the players raising
potential conflicts with the collective bargaining agreement between the league and its players (Dosh,

countries at the Human Rights Council in the future.
The Malaysian government also should ensure the safety of human rights defenders such as former
Bar Council president Ambiga Sreenevasan, who has faced severe verbal attacks since it was revealed
that she was scheduled to preside over the opening session of Seksualiti Merdeka. Perkasa and other
groups have labeled Ambiga as an antichrist, impugned her patriotism, called for her Malaysian
citizenship to be stripped, and demanded she be detained in preventive detention under the Internal

FACTOR LEADS TO HOMOSEXUALITY
Most researchers agree that homosexuality is multi causal and complex; many factors contribute to the
development of same sex attraction. They also believe that the homosexuality has nothing to do with
the biological or genetic. If homosexual impulses are not inherited, what kinds of influences do cause
strong homosexual desires? Some researchers believe that causes of homosexuality include the
individual, family, society and media.

Essay on The Great Gig in the Sky
At a late Thursday night, I have received word that I would perform in a fancy ball room. With only
two weeks of experience I had a gig in front of a hundred people. Like many first gigs, the stage plays
tricks on you and makes you feel inferior. Stage fright had to go away at some point, so I decided for it
to be this Saturday night. Countless of hours put into this one night, I would practice day in and day
out. There was something for me to prove. You don t have to be naturally talented and experienced to
become successful or to perform at a high level. All it takes is a little self confidence and hard work. Is

nervous wreck and I knew that within the next five minutes. I will give it my all or die trying. I
patiently waited to be called. A loud thumping noise is heard as I head over to the door and open the
door. It was my father. There is no need to feel nervous. You worked so hard and pushed yourself to
prove a point. Although that may be true, you worked so hard not only for success but also for the
enjoyment of performing. My dad had turned his back on me and faded away. I stood still thinking
about what he has told me. There was a better reason to why I stood up so late and practiced so much.
From the beginning, playing an instrument was a wonderful experience. With a confident look and a
brighter self esteem. I was ready to rock n roll! I treasured the moment. I put on my shades and
walked across the hall with a determined look. I made my way backstage and was suddenly called to
the stage. The spotlight was brighter than the suns ray. I foolishly put my shades back on and take a
look around me. Complete silence was around me. Such a quiet, yet eerie atmosphere. Eyes across the
stage followed me like a homing missile. I strum a chord and begin playing. A rough start was quickly

An Overview Of Energy Management Meter System
A Framework for a GSMSmart Energy Management Meter System for Effective Measurement,
Management and Communication of Power and its Data in a Developing Grid
Abstract
Energy measurement and management are amongst the major grid challenges and research efforts
have been geared towards addressing them. The emergence of smart meters in consonance with the
smart grid concept is as a result of these efforts. This paper explores the integration of Energy
Management and Control System (EMCS) technologies into smart meters to mitigate energy wastages
and ensure energy accountability. The integrated system presented in this paper leverages on the GSM
technology to provides a tripod communication between the meter, utility and the consumers. Results
from the system prototype show that the system offers the consumer the opportunity to make personal
energy budgets in line with the energy conservation, provides more consumption details than the
traditional meters and provides for the utility a better management platform of the consumer
component of the grid.
Keywords: energy, consumption, measurement, management, metering
I Introduction
The electric grid is a large interconnection of both generation and transmission electrical subsystems
usually managed by utilities to facilitate efficient distribution of electricity to consumers and
businesses [1]. Providing adequate, reliable and sustainable energy has always been the focus as well
as a perennial challenge for utilities. This challenge

Educating Afghan Girls Education
Educating Afghan Girls
Education is one of the most important contributors to having a successful future. In developed
countries such as North America boys and girls are fortunate enough to have access to an unbiased
education system. Therefore, allowing children to have countless opportunities. However, in countries
like Afghanistan girls are marginalized and neglected the right to learn. Afghanistan is a country of
war, where women and girls are often the worst victims. In 2011, Afghanistan was known as the most
dangerous place in the world for a girl to be born (Kissane). Malala Yousufzai, a female education
activist was also a victim of war. Yousufazi was shot in the head and neck for advocating for girls and
their rights to have access to education. Similarly, to Yousufzai many women in Afghanistan stand up
for their entitlement to having equality. Those courageous women often become victims of abuse and
are often killed. Investing in girls education is critical, not only is it life altering for a girl s future, but
it s also poses benefits to society. By allowing Afghan girls access to educating we are also promoting
better socioeconomic s, a reduction in child marriages, and an improvement in mortality rates.
Afghanistan is one of the poorest countries in the world. Three decades of war has subjected Afghans
to harsh living conditions. Leaving most with insufficient resources to survive. Many women are left

The Nature Of The Green Light In The Great Gatsby
In The Great Gatsby, by F. Scott Fitzgerald, the symbolic nature of the green light conveys the
message that holding onto a fantasy for too long can lead to loss of reality. One ominous midnight,

only into the bay and something about that man in his leisurely movements and the secure position of
his feet upon the lawn suggested that it was Mr. Gatsby , without knowing his intentions Nick glanced

The Impact Of The Fourteenth Amendment
For centuries, the success of a democratic society has been measured by its commitment to equality, a
resounding principle central to our nation s founding. The Enlightenment inspired language of the
Declaration of Independence, namely the age old axiom that all men are created equal, pervades our
perception of the American creed. However, nearly a century passed before the Lockean principles
espoused in the Declaration of Independence began to bear the force of law. Entitling American
citizens to due process and equal protection of the law, the Fourteenth Amendment, perhaps the most
transformative Amendment of all, has inspired the steady progression of American society.
Nonetheless, while the Amendment serves as the chief legal force behind the democratic goal of
equality, questions regarding its achievement of that goal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Regardless of the guarantees evoked in its wording, only court challenges will determine the
fulfillment of its intent, demanding a conscientious populace and Supreme Court that evolves in time
with the dynamic sentiment of modern society. In another respect, the erroneous conclusion that the
amendment itself is immune to criticism must be rejected. For instance, Section II of the amendment
permits the disenfranchisement of felons, a provision that ironically has perpetuated the
marginalization of those that the amendment was intended to protect. The war on drugs, a campaign
that has disproportionately ravaged African American communities, effectively deprives a substantial
percentage of the African American community of the most basic privilege of citizenship, a
consequence that runs counter to the egalitarian quality that defines the amendment. Nonetheless, all
things considered, the sheer existence of the Fourteenth Amendment manifests the American
commitment to wholly achieving equality, a rewarding work in

How Does Shakespeare Present Caliban In The Tempest
Shakespeare differs sharply with Montaigne s argument of how Europeans portray inhabitants of the
New World through his construction of Caliban as a New World person. Shakespeare differs with
Montaigne s argument through his characterization of Ariel and Caliban in The Tempest. Montaigne s
argument of how Europeans portray inhabitants of the New World is through praising cannibals as
wild fruits who are created by nature in a natural manner and without any superficiality. In contrast,
Shakespeare constructs Caliban as a pathetic, vulgar, and crass cannibal as any person can possibly be
displayed. His construction of Caliban is a direct attack against the conception of Nature as portrayed
by Montaigne. Shakespeare s construction of Caliban seems to be a direct response to Montaigne s
conception of human nature and the degree with which contemporary civilization restrains it. While
Montaigne seemingly argues that Europeans portray the inhabitants of the New World as people who

However, their attitudes towards their master reflect the varying ways with which human nature reacts
to contemporary civilization. While they are both oppressed by Prospero, Ariel and Caliban develop
different relationships with their master depending on natural character and their previous

ii, 321 324) as a reaction to feelings of being subjugated and unfairly treated. In contrast to
Montaigne, Shakespeare demonstrates that cannibals willingly permit themselves to be captured and
captivated by modern civilization just like Ariel. Montaigne primarily blames today s Europeans while

The Importance Of Protein Degradation
The authors goal in conducting this experiment was to establish a link between, among other things,
protein degradation through the ubiquitin protease system (UPS) and the consolidation and
reconsolidation of long term fear memories. This research was necessary because, while research had
been done linking protein degradation to synaptic plasticity, no study had been performed to analyze
the role of UPS in the amygdala, where long term fear memories are believed to be stored.
Additionally, prior research had led to conflicting reports of the importance of protein degradation in
consolidation as opposed to reconsolidation, which the authors intended to clarify. To obtain the
desired information, researchers tested male Long Evans rats ... Show more content on

Most research findings confirmed what prior research indicated protein degradation and synthesis are
essential in memory formation and memory formation relies on NMDA. However, the research
indicated differences between the memory processes used by the hippocampus and amygdala in that
prior researchers had found little evidence that protein degradation was a necessary part of the
consolidation of memories in hippocampus. This led researchers to conclude that the amygdala and
hippocampus may be more similar with regard to reconsolidation of memories than consolidation of
memories.
Analysis:
Prior to reading the article, I had very little understanding of the importance of proteins in memory
functions. I believed them to be most important with regard to enzymatic functioning and structural
composition. However, the article indicates how incredibly important the minutiae of protein function
are to a properly functioning memory. Based on protein function, researchers were able to control if
and how much the rats were able to remember. The data do seem to support the authors conclusions.
Protein degradation was measured by the presence of ubiquitin, which was a fairly accurate
measurement tool. In addition, the researchers used an abundance of controlled groups in order to
isolate the desired variable the combination of shock and auditory cue. Conclusions about the presence
of elevated protein degradation are supported by the collected data from the

Junot Diaz is well known and loved for his unique voice in writing. In The Dreamer, he presented a
memorable time of his mother s life in the Dominican Republic. This story showed how much he
appreciated her courage to learn; Diaz was influenced throughout his journey of life by her daring. His
unique voice in The Dreamer was from the connection he had after learning of an experience his
mother personally shared with him. His mother grew up in the Dominican Republican as a poor and
lonely girl that never intended to leave the area but later ended up in New Jersey. His mother one day
realized that she wanted to become a nurse; however, she had no education background nor did her
mother enlighten the idea of seeking one. As time progressed,

Billy Goat Trail Essay
Billy Goat Trail The Billy Goat trail currently located in Maryland and is part of the Great Falls. After
getting familiar with the Billy Goat Trail you can see all the evidence that a great geological
phenomenon has occurred at that location. This location went through several geographical changes
that I will be mentioning along with some of the evidence from the Billy Goat Trail. The Billy Goat
Trail actually started at the bottom of the Iaptus Ocean more than 460 million years ago. At the bottom
of the ocean the sand was being deposited on top of the mud making some graded bedding that was
caused by turbidity currents. The rock that was being formed from graded bedding on the bottom of
the ocean floor was the sedimentary rock called ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Acadian Orogeny not only started the mountain building in the region but also brought volcanic
activity along and this meant that the rocks in the region now where under a great amount of pressure
and extreme amount of heat.
Some of the evidence that I observed at the Billy Goat Trail from the Acadian Orogeny was the Gneiss
rocks that where hidden underneath the large boulders where we stopped for lunch. The rock Gneiss
requires high pressure and high heat because the rock has U shaped banding due to the pressure and
black and white striations from the heat. (2) Another observation from the trip that supports the
Acadian Orogeny is the Lamprophyre dikes that cut across the Meta Greywacke and are found in both
sides of the Potomac River. The Lamprophyre dikes are younger than the Meta Greywacke since they
cut across them and since the dikes are made of basalt they can be dated back about 360 million years
ago thus linking them to the Acadian Orogeny. Also the dikes weather out faster than the rock around
them. (3)
After the Acadian Orogeny the continent of North America collided with Africa which was at the time
of Pangea. Then the continents separated and opened up a new ocean called the Atlantic Ocean but
there was no evidence found in the region to prove this geological event so the time missing is called
an unconformity. During this time the region was just experiencing weathering

Nursing Timeline
Historical Development of Nursing Timeline Historical Development of Nursing Timeline The 19th
century marked the beginning of professional nursing. Florence Nightingale was the legend behind it
as she began the struggle of nurses being recognized as professionals. It is hard to believe that nurses
were once assigned to the job as a sentence for crimes committed or for the women who were too old
or sick to hold conventional jobs. Nightingale s focus included infection control, documentation,
patient safety, confidentiality, and evidence based practice, which seems common place today, but was
very forward thinking for that period. The era of Florence Nightingale is just the beginning of the

However, Barrett (2002) believes knowledge is the focus of nursing science rather on theory or
research. George (2011) explains the relationship between theory, research, and practice influence
each other in a circular way. In other words, research and theory are not based on hierarchy, but rather,
practice is based on theories that are supported through research. To that end, research and theory are
not the only disciplines that have influenced nursing throughout the ages. Interdisciplinary influences
on the science of nursing Many influences affect the science of nursing, such as philosophy, religion,
education, anthropology, social sciences, and psychology, as we will briefly discuss here. Holt and
Clarke (2000) surmise philosophical method can be useful because it requires careful analysis of
words, concepts, arguments and claims and therefore by definition demands and develops critical
thinking. All of these essential elements of philosophy are used as nursing requires the ability to
analyze and evaluate patients and provide care based on the best existing plan of care. Religion was
once deeply rooted in nursing and was seen as a ministry to Christ. Religious ties may not be so
obvious in nursing today, however, the focus on holistic and spiritual care reminds us the Christian
influence has not been erased completely. Holistic and spiritual care are terms widely used currently
and are an essential part of the nursing

Gallup Poll Analysis
In today s world, it has become very beneficial when considering social, political, and economic
issues, as well as other challenges, to gather opinions from people who would be affected by changes
in major issues of society. As a result, many businesses have been formed to conduct polls concerning
these issues, and one such polling organization is known as Gallup Poll. The Gallup Poll is an
assessment of the opinions of the public that gathers samples that are meant to serve as fair
representations of the opinion of the whole society around that mere sample. One specific version of
the Gallup Poll, the Social Series , is meant to assess issues that specifically deal with society, politics,

Any U.S. citizen who is at least eighteen years of age and is living in any of the fifty U.S. states is

percentage of 60% cellphone users and 40% who are still using landlines. Because the United States is
such a large country, Gallup has minimum requirements within each smaller geographical region, and
Gallup decides these based on the time zone that the respondents are living in. For each Social Series

From IT Infrastructure to ITaaS
What is the cloud? Many say they are those white puffs in the sky. True, but those are not the clouds
that are referred to in the Information Technology industry. The cloud that IT professionals speak of is
a place that isn t seen but is known to exist. Dropbox, Box, Google Drive, OneDrive, iCloud Drive; all
different types of cloud storage options for securing your music, documents, and other kinds of files.
There are many different uses for the cloud in the life of a professional. Box, for example, is mainly
designed to share documents and files between users in a more formal business setting. On the other

These data center switches become the Fabric Interconnect between the UCS , and those two products
combined help to make cloud storage possible. There are other companies that are using services and
products to make this happen; such as EMC and NetApp.
The cloud is increasingly becoming a very common reality in the IT industry. The idea of storing files
in places other than the hard drive of a computer or the server in the next room has opened a door for
new beginnings and unending possibilities. Many companies have IT departments that are internal to
their company. Without these IT departments many companies would have many non working
computers, networks, and other office devices that would hinder the business from making money.
The current IT infrastructure is mostly maintained and operated in house by contracted employees that
usually have a great knowledge of general electronics and computers. Being that IT is so important to
how companies work it is always under scrutiny to continue to develop. With the cloud in mind there
has recently been talk about how IT could use the cloud to advance their efforts. Information
Technology as a Service (ITaaS) has become a new reality for some companies. The idea is that IT
organizations can use the cloud to move away from an Infrastructure platform to a Service model.
This ITaaS model promotes IT being setup to be much more effective than it currently is. One concept

2.1, Explain the skills needed to communicate with children and young people.
To be able to effectively communicate with children and young people you must first understand how
to speak appropriately for the Childs age level, cognitive level or language ability. For example, while
speaking to a child which has English as an Additional Language, you would need to speak slower,
with lots more annunciation and facial expression. To show them that they have my full attention I
would repeat what they had said, correcting where necessary but giving a great deal of praise.

To immediately put the person at their ease I would first make a comment which is completely
different to what the topic of our conversation needs to be. For example, how much I like their shoes,
how did they do at football over the weekend or what good films have they watched recently. Once I
believe I have asked enough questions that are personal to them and can see that they are starting to
open up to me I would gradually start bringing up what the main purpose of our chat was meant to be.
This could be anything from, what has caused arguments to be arising lately with certain individuals
or why they are starting to struggle with certain activities. However, they must always understand that
your are their teaching assistant and not their buddy or parent.
Communication differences There are many different factors to take into consideration when
communicating with children or young adults. Their age, ie a 4 yr old, will not have heard as many
words as an 11 yr old, so the vocabulary has to be kept simpler. Children with learning disabilities,
such as ADD, ADHD or ASD have to have instructions given to them one at a time, as their brains

measurements and they do not have to be close to the real value, for example when you are doing an

Need For Extensive Training Working At Heights
When it comes to tree removal, unless you absolutely certain you know what you are doing, it is
essential you hire a professional to handle this service. In addition to the need for extensive training
working at heights requires, there are a number of other fluctuating circumstances causing potential
risks that only a trained professional is prepared for. Because consumers want to ensure they are
spending their money wisely, one of the most prominent questions asked is when a tree should be
removed?
Ask yourself the following questions:
Do you see extensive damage on the tree from the ground? Elimination of a tree should occur when at
least 50% or more of the tree is damaged. While the tree deteriorates, it could potentially survive for
multiple years. However, its appearance could become abnormal in addition to its growth.
Do you see vertical seams or cracks in the trunk? These issues, as well as stubs from dead branches
indicate decay is occurring from within the tree. If these issues are occurring on less than 25% of the
circumference of the tree s trunk, the internal wounds should heal themselves over a period of time.
However, if more area of the trunk is covered, this is indication of severe damage and the tree should
be eliminated.
Are the roots able to stay upright on their own? A stable root system can stand upright on its own,
otherwise there are problems. Such problems include decayed, missing, or dead root systems. The tree
could become a potential hazard

Lenin s Legacy Of The Soviet Revolution
Lenin s Legacy
History will not forgive Revolutionaries for procrastinating when they could be victorious today, while
they risk losing much tomorrow, in fact, they risk losing everything (Vladimir Lenin. Call to Power).
Lenin was a persistent Russian ruler who wished to instill his communist views in Russian society at
all costs. He was influential in motivating his followers to rise up and overthrow Russia s weak
government which lead to the reformation of Russia s weak economy. Although Lenin faced opposing
forces from the West, he was able to institute a number of reforms which boosted Russia s broken
economy and led to the transformation of Russia from a war struck country into an economically
stable power, prior to his death.
Prior to Lenin coming into power, Russia s corrupt government was stuck in a state of war with
Germany along with other Western European powers which ultimately led to the revolts of angry
Russians due to famine and political issues. The Russo Japanese war began the first Russian
revolution in 1905 when Russia suffered a tragic loss on the battlefield (Vladimir Lenin. World
History). The Russian loss to Japan forced the government to give up on its expansionist policy
resulting in the government losing its followers. This was the most devastating defeat Russia has ever
faced to a non European force and proved Czar Nicholas unfit to rule the nation. To restore order
within the society, Czar Nicholas instituted the October Manifesto, which

The Epidemic Of Tobacco Use Essay
Salivary Biomarkers
Introduction:
Worldwide, tobacco use continues to be one of the leading causes of preventable death and has been
estimated to kill more than five million people annually1. Lately, the epidemic of tobacco use has
shifted from developed to developing countries2. It is estimated that by 2030 almost 10 million people
will die from tobacco use per year, with 70% of these deaths occurring in developing countries. India
accounts for one sixth of the tobacco related illnesses worldwide and is estimated to face an
exponential increase in tobacco related mortality from 1.4% of all deaths in 1990 to 13.3% in 20203.
In 2010, out of 52.8 million deaths that occurred worldwide out of which 34.5 million deaths were
attributable to non communicable diseases; more than a quarter of these occur in low income and
middle income countries4 5. Use of tobacco is one of the major risk factor for non communicable
disease which is slowly threatening human life5.
Tobacco smoking in any form constitutes a major risk factor for coronary artery disease (CAD),
hypertension (HTN), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), oral, nasopharyngeal, bronchial
and other visceral malignancies6 . Smoking 1 4 cigarettes per day significantly increases the risk of
cardiovascular disease7. Smoking also increases the risk of thrombosis8 (8). Smokers are 3 times
more likely to develop type 2 diabetes than the non smokers. Smokeless tobacco users have a higher

History Of The Temperance Movement
The Temperance movement was an organized effort to encourage people to ban the consumption of
alcohol. The movement was mostly women whose husbands had uncontrolled drinking habits.
Alcohol was also being blamed for health issues like anemia, cancer, high blood pressure and nerve
damage. This lead to the ban of alcohol, which was called Prohibition. Anemia is the abnormally low
count of red blood cells. This can trigger tiredness and cause someone to become lightheaded.
Scientists believe drinking alcohol can increase the risk of cancer because the body converts alcohol
into acetaldehyde (a potent carcinogen). Having high blood pressure can lead to kidney and heart
disease. Alcoholic neuropathy is the form of nerve damage alcohol

Immigrants In The Kite Runner
It was my father who taught us that an immigrant must work twice as hard as anybody else, that he
must never give up Zinedine zidane. Many people who have travelled abroad to another country, for
their own reason, have experienced the difficulty of adapting to a completely new life. These people
are called immigrants, such as, Amir and Baba, the characters in the novel, The Kite Runner, written
by Khaleo Hosseini. In the novel, as Kabul is being controlled by the Russian, Amir and Baba had to

Well before I read this book, I actually did think about what the title could mean and why the author
wrote it so. Before I read this book I thought the book was about astronauts or something ridiculous.
During the book I had some ideas that The Fault In Our Stars meant a mistake or something that
predestined one s fate. I was kind of close. The title meant that the Fault is not always in the others,
but in ourselves. For instance, Hazel Grace has cancer and a chronic illness not because she did
something to cause it; It was just fate. I believe the title was just giving us a hint of the main idea of
the book. Category 1, #5 As he read, I fell in love the way you fall asleep: slowly, and then all at once.

Category 2, #3 If this book were to be found in the distant future, 3052 to be exact, I would think that
it was written for a more fantasy driven culture. If some random historians and sociologists just
randomly came by this book, first they d probably think what is a book, why was society so messed up
back then, and why were their books so amazing. One could conclude that their era was one of literary
prosperity. Most likely because of influences from previous eras of literature and innovation
increasing throughout time. Category 3, #1 I think that one of the characters that I notices the most
was Peter. He was the author of the book Imperial Affliction, which Hazel Grace and Augustus Waters
both read and found something in common. They both loved this story so much that they went to
Amsterdam where Peter lived and confronted him in order to find out the untold ending. When they
realize a few things about Peter (he is a total jerk, drunkard, and that he didn t even write the end of
his book) and his book, they just decide to forget him. But later on, at the ending of the book when the
tide turns and Augustus Waters washes away, Peter Van Houten shows up and reveals his characters
flaws happened because of his children s deaths. This made me sit up and appreciate the making of
this character, and the authors creativeness throughout the book. I think the irony in this character is
that many older people are like this but

Snare Drum Research Paper
When most people think of a drum line they categorize it all as drums , but what they don t know is
that each drum, although similar, have their own role. The most known drums, the snare and the bass,
have many similarities, but they are also different in many ways. The bass drum and snare drum are
very structurally similar. Both have a cylindrically shaped shell and two tightly stretched drum heads.
The shell of the drum is usually made of wood such as poplar, birch, or maple that is veneered. Then a
final clear, hard, top coat protectant covering. They also have lugs that span the length of the shell to

more apparent. How the bass and snare drums are played is quite opposite. The drum head of a snare
sits horizontally, while the heads of a bass drum sit vertically. With the snare drum wooden sticks are
used to produce the strong cracking sound when hitting the head. On a bass drum cushion tipped
mallets are hit on either side of the drum to make its booming sound. The snare and bass drum have
very different and distinct sounds. The snare drum is mainly rhythm based and plays sharp, quick
sounds, while the bass drum is used to keep the beat and plays longer, sustained notes. This is because
the snare drum head is stretched tighter than the bass head and the snare drum has a set of metal
springs stretched across the bottom head. Another big difference is that the snare drum can only play
one pitch, while the bass drum usually plays in a line with drums of many sizes and

Stephen King Gothic Elements
Stephen King s The Boogeyman was my favorite piece of gothic literature that we read. I was trying
to figure the story out all the way until the end and had to re read some of it to fully understand. It was
suspenseful, scary, but also had a good story to listen to. The Boogeyman was full of gloomy settings,
monsters, characters in distress, and intense emotions. These 4 things are just a couple elements that
make up gothic literature.
The first element of gothic literature that I noticed in The Boogeyman was the gloomy setting. The
way the man described his house was chilling. He made it sound cold, haunted, and all around gave
the house a bad vibe. He says, I heard a noise in there one night. And then she screamed. I opened the
door real quick the hall light was on and. . . she was sitting up in the crib crying and. . . something
moved. Back in the shadows, by the closet. Something slithered. Here he is talking about his own
daughter s room and how something was in there and he did nothing. I couldn t believe that, his own
child was in distress and he was too full of pride to admit to his wife that he wanted to protect or baby
their child. Her room was described as creepy enough without the monster. The gloomy setting helps
show that this is gothic literature.

Mark Phillips (2009) stated that All workers have protection after a six month qualifying period (12 months for small businesses with 15 full time equivalent staff or less) and The exemption from unfair dismissal when sackings occur for operational reasons will be removed. This was seen as the major improvement on WorkChoices. By contrast, under WorkChoice Laws the coverage of the unfair dismissal laws was as less as to only business employing more than 100 employees (Loudoun, 2009, p79). So this law leads to that more unfair treatment of employees when they were dismissed as indicated by the decline of unfair dismissal application to the Industrial Relation Commission of NSW (IRC of NSW 2006, p.11) and the AIRC (AIRC 2007). Rudd government retained the restriction of union right of entry to workplaces, and restrictions on workers right to strike (Ross Gittins, 2007), But union right of entry under Fair Work Australia is wider than of WorkChoice, FWA deals with the right of entry disputes regarding officials of a trade union in accordance ... • 4. Essay Skylock in Shakespeare´s Merchant of Venice Villian One of the earliest idioms taught to students of all ages is Don t judge a book by its cover. Oftentimes, a quote like that can easily be disregarded, however, it is applicable to people who aren t always who they seem to be. Shakespeare s play the Merchant of Venice is an outstanding work that contains a very strange villain in Shylock, who is hated by all, although he has not wronged them in the past. Thusly, his habits and personality evolved from his interactions with the Venetian populous. By examining the changes Shylock displays in tone, Shylock the villain s motivations can be seen and ultimately display that no matter how twisted a person is or may seem, the motivations behind their actions indicate that innately they have a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This correlates almost directly to how most of the other major characters of Merchant of Venice also treat him (e.g. Antonio). However, as is with most cases, there are two sides to each story. To understand the motivation behind Shylock s obsession with money, the beginning of the play has to be referenced. In Shylock s negotiations with Bassanio and Antonio, Shylock recalls, Signior Antonio, many a time and oft in the Rialto you have rated me about my moneys and my usances... You call me misbeliever, cutthroat dog and spet upon my Jewish gabardine... You called me dog; and for these courtesies I ll lend you thus much moneys? (1.3.104 126). From this passage, Shylock s motivations are presented clearly. He loathes Antonio for how poorly he has treated him in the past, insulting both his character and his religion. Therefore, the motivating factor in lending money to Bassanio is so Shylock has the ability to hold some form of power over Antonio. Therein lies the key to Shylock s obsession with wealth. In the referenced Venetian culture, Jewish people were persecuted for their religion and were branded unsavory by the predominantly Christian community. Shylock, being ridiculed and domineered his whole life by his Christian counterparts, saw an opportunity to finally even the odds and jumped at it. Shylock clings onto his wealth because it is the only thing that gives him power in Venetian ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Globalization The Nfl Realization/Opportunity from the Failed Attempt After 16 years, the NFL has been investigating the past failure, and looking at new and different avenues in order to realize its objective, to globalize the league international. This is put into better terms by Richard Sandomir from The New York Times, he stated, But N.F.L. You worked so hard and pushed yourself to prove a point. Although that may be true, you worked so hard not only for success but also for the enjoyment of performing. My dad had turned his back on me and faded away. I stood still thinking about what he has told me. There was a better reason to why I stood up so late and practiced so much. The Importance Of Protein Degradation The authors goal in conducting this experiment was to establish a link between, among other things, protein degradation through the ubiquitin protease system (UPS) and the consolidation and reconsolidation of long term fear memories. This research was necessary because, while research had been done linking protein degradation to synaptic plasticity, no study had been performed to analyze the role of UPS in the amygdala, where long term fear memories are believed to be stored. Additionally, prior research had led to conflicting reports of the importance of protein degradation in consolidation as opposed to reconsolidation, which the authors intended to clarify. Most research findings confirmed what prior research indicated protein degradation and synthesis are essential in memory formation and memory formation relies on NMDA. However, the research indicated differences between the memory processes used by the hippocampus and amygdala in that prior researchers had found little evidence that protein degradation was a necessary part of the consolidation of memories in hippocampus. This led researchers to conclude that the amygdala and hippocampus may be more similar with regard to reconsolidation of memories than consolidation of memories. Analysis: Prior to reading the article, I had very little understanding of the importance of proteins in memory functions. I believed them to be most important with regard to enzymatic functioning and structural composition. However, the article indicates how incredibly important the minutiae of protein function are to a properly functioning memory. The rock Gneiss requires high pressure and high heat because the rock has U shaped banding due to the pressure and black and white striations from the heat. (2) Another observation from the trip that supports the Acadian Orogeny is the Lamprophyre dikes that cut across the Meta Greywacke and are found in both sides of the Potomac River. The Lamprophyre dikes are younger than the Meta Greywacke since they cut across them and since the dikes are made of basalt they can be dated back about 360 million years ago thus linking them to the Acadian Orogeny. He also earned respect from others when he returned those stack of food stamps to eligibility officer. I work always. In Afghanistan I work, in America I work. Thank you very much, Mrs. Dobbins, but I don t like it free money (138 Hosseini). Because of Baba s hard work, he became the manager of the gas station. Furthermore, Baba sold his old items to earn money in the flea market. When Amir married, Baba paid for Amir s wedding with his life savings. I also have the same experience. My part time job experience also proves the validity of the saying. At my workplace, our manager adjusts our salary according to our individual ability because he thinks people should be rewarded according to their effort and ability. At the time when I first found my job, I received the lowest salary due to my lack of work experience and my inability to solve problems independently. In order to earn more money, I learned adequate skills from other employers. Day by day, I accumulated experience and improved my ability in problem solving. I sweated and put in a lot of effort for my job. Subsequently, I was rewarded when my manager raised my salary. In fact, there is a direct and positive correlation between effort and ... • 34. Well before I read this book, I actually did think about... Well before I read this book, I actually did think about what the title could mean and why the author wrote it so. Before I read this book I thought the book was about astronauts or something ridiculous. During the book I had some ideas that The Fault In Our Stars meant a mistake or something that predestined one s fate. I was kind of close. The title meant that the Fault is not always in the others, but in ourselves. For instance, Hazel Grace has cancer and a chronic illness not because she did something to cause it; It was just fate. I believe the title was just giving us a hint of the main idea of the book. Category 1, #5 As he read, I fell in love the way you fall asleep: slowly, and then all at once. Even before she admits it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Category 2, #3 If this book were to be found in the distant future, 3052 to be exact, I would think that it was written for a more fantasy driven culture. If some random historians and sociologists just randomly came by this book, first they d probably think what is a book, why was society so messed up back then, and why were their books so amazing. One could conclude that their era was one of literary prosperity. Most likely because of influences from previous eras of literature and innovation increasing throughout time. Category 3, #1 I think that one of the characters that I notices the most was Peter. He was the author of the book Imperial Affliction, which Hazel Grace and Augustus Waters both read and found something in common. They both loved this story so much that they went to Amsterdam where Peter lived and confronted him in order to find out the untold ending. When they realize a few things about Peter (he is a total jerk, drunkard, and that he didn t even write the end of his book) and his book, they just decide to forget him. But later on, at the ending of the book when the tide turns and Augustus Waters washes away, Peter Van Houten shows up and reveals his characters flaws happened because of his children s deaths. This made me sit up and appreciate the making of this character, and the authors creativeness throughout the book. I think the irony in this character is that many older people are like this but ... • 36. Snare Drum Research Paper When most people think of a drum line they categorize it all as drums , but what they don t know is that each drum, although similar, have their own role. The most known drums, the snare and the bass, have many similarities, but they are also different in many ways. The bass drum and snare drum are very structurally similar. Both have a cylindrically shaped shell and two tightly stretched drum heads. The shell of the drum is usually made of wood such as poplar, birch, or maple that is veneered. Then a final clear, hard, top coat protectant covering. They also have lugs that span the length of the shell to keep the drum heads at the right pitch. The drumline comes onto the field as a group and given a visual effect position of a front to middle ensemble. This position shows off the massive sound produced from a small group of drums and quick flying stick work. The drummers wear a harness to be able to carry their drum while keeping in step with the group. Although the snare drum and bass drum have some similarities, their differences are more apparent. How the bass and snare drums are played is quite opposite. The drum head of a snare sits horizontally, while the heads of a bass drum sit vertically. With the snare drum wooden sticks are used to produce the strong cracking sound when hitting the head. On a bass drum cushion tipped mallets are hit on either side of the drum to make its booming sound. The snare and bass drum have very different and distinct sounds. The snare drum is mainly rhythm based and plays sharp, quick sounds, while the bass drum is used to keep the beat and plays longer, sustained notes. This is because the snare drum head is stretched tighter than the bass head and the snare drum has a set of metal springs stretched across the bottom head. Another big difference is that the snare drum can only play one pitch, while the bass drum usually plays in a line with drums of many sizes and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 38. Stephen King Gothic Elements Stephen King s The Boogeyman was my favorite piece of gothic literature that we read. I was trying to figure the story out all the way until the end and had to re read some of it to fully understand. It was suspenseful, scary, but also had a good story to listen to. The Boogeyman was full of gloomy settings, monsters, characters in distress, and intense emotions. These 4 things are just a couple elements that make up gothic literature. The first element of gothic literature that I noticed in The Boogeyman was the gloomy setting. The way the man described his house was chilling. He made it sound cold, haunted, and all around gave the house a bad vibe. He says, I heard a noise in there one night. And then she screamed. I opened the door real quick the hall light was on and. . . she was sitting up in the crib crying and. . . something moved. Back in the shadows, by the closet. Something slithered. Here he is talking about his own daughter s room and how something was in there and he did nothing. I couldn t believe that, his own child was in distress and he was too full of pride to admit to his wife that he wanted to protect or baby their child. Her room was described as creepy enough without the monster. The gloomy setting helps show that this is gothic literature. The second element of gothic literature that I noticed in The Boogeyman was the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ethiopia symbolized Africa and the homeland for the slave descended Jamaicans. Ras Tafari Makennen, in 1930, became Emperor Haile Selassie of Ethiopia. Emperor Selassie claimed to be a direct descendent of King Solomon. Many Jamaicans were waiting for a black messiah. In the present, Rastas feel blacks are held down by poverty, illiteracy, inequality, and trickery by the white man. To stand up against this Babylon, Rastas want to remind blacks of their heritage. Heaven on earth , in Rastafarian belief, is in Africa and especially Ethiopia. There s no afterlife. A black Exodus to Ethiopia will occur in the future. This Exodus will begin after a signal from Jah. This means that Rastafarians are very focused on any news from Ethiopia. As a result, Jamaican blacks have looked more deeply into their African heritage. Red, gold, green, and black are Rastafarian colors. Red stands for Church Triumphant, which is the Church of the Rastas. It also stands for the blood of martyred Rastas. Gold represents the wealth of the homeland. Green symbolizes the beauty and vegetation of the Ethiopia, the promised land. Black is used to represent the African people. He causeth the grass for cattle and the herb for the service of man, Psalm 104:14. Rastas use this scripture and others as the basis for their use of ganja. Regarded as wisdomweed, Rasta leaders urge that ganja be smoked by followers as a religious rite and aid to meditation. A potent strain of ganja or marijuana grows in abundance on Jamaica.
