WordPress Blogs 101 is a deck of notes for a training presentation for beginners. It's a hands-on presentation, and so this shouldn't be considered a "finished" product because many of the speaker notes won't mean anything to most users unless they're led through it by a trainer.
This is version 2 prepared for the annual Seton Hall University Student Technology Days series, aimed at student organizations' leaders who are interested in building an on-line presence for their group.
It covers the basics of obtaining and working with a blog in the University's self-hosted WordPress multisite environment, including examples, using the dashboard, managing comments, posts and pages, media embeds, options such as themes, widgets and menus.

Publishing Your Family History to the Web - Version 2Teresa Pask
Version 2 of this popular presentation, relates to Blogs, Slideshare, and Self-Publishing.
This presentation will be given at the Guild of One-Name Studies (GOONS) Computer Seminar in Epson, Surrey, England on Saturday August 7, 2010.
The synposis reads:
If you can e-mail, or upload files then you have enough knowledge and experience to publish to the web. The lecture will focus on the easy alternatives – Blogs, Slideshare, and self-publishing printed books. The hardest part is deciding what method you are going to use!
The majority of us use the internet for searching, and exchanging information mainly by e-mail. If you have virtual presence the likelihood of others finding you increases significantly.
Please note, this lecture does not include programming, web design, or setting up a website. However, you do not need these skills to publish to the web.

What happens when the digital tools and platforms we make and use for communication and entertainment are hijacked for terrorism, violence against the vulnerable and nefarious transactions? What role do designers and developers play? Are we complicit as creators of these technologies and products? Should we police them or fight back? As Portfolio Lead for Northern Lab, Northern Trust's internal innovation startup focused on client and partner experience, Antonio will share a mix of provocative scenarios torn from today's headlines and compelling stories where activism and technology facilitated peace—and war.
As a call-to-action for designers and developers to engage in projects capable of transformational change, he'll explore the question: How might technology foster new experiences to better accelerate social activism and make the world a smarter, safer place?

Project Management with WordPress & P2 - WordCamp Toronto 2013WPUniversity
There are plenty of great project management solutions available on the web. Unfortunately you don't have a lot of control over what you can do with them. Wouldn't it be great if you could create a custom tool for your own projects? In this presentation/workshop from WordCamp Toronto 2013, we create a WordPress-powered project communication and collaboration solution using the P2 theme and a smattering of plugins.
I gave this presentation in the Sales Engineering Finland meetup that was held on 21st of April 2015.
This presentation identifies four reasons why you cannot write a technical blog and helps you to crush these excuses.
It also reveals what can happen to you if you start blogging on a regular basis and describes some of the lessons that I learned when I wrote my first book.
This is a workbook produced a little over a year ago for a low-tech workshop explaining the basics of social web tools. Was viewed in conjunction with "The Machine is Us/ing Us"

LiveBinders?
• LiveBinders is a way to
group, classify, and share

is organized into tabs and
subtabs, just like a physical
three-ring binder.
• When a website is found
relevant to your topic, you
can add the link to your
binder.
• The Binder itself is just a
web URL that can be
accessed from any
computer or device.

• Simply sign up by
creating a unique
user name,

of using Google to fill
your binder.

• For example, by using “Simple Machines” in
the search field, the following tabs were
created.
• You can then add to or edit your binder.
13. No, Thanks?
• If you choose not to use Google, the screen
looks like this.
• You then enter a URL address for the first tab.
