Little Women Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic of "Little Women" is no small feat. While the novel itself provides
a rich tapestry of characters, themes, and societal nuances, the challenge lies in distilling this
complexity into a coherent and insightful essay. One must navigate the intricate relationships
among the March sisters, explore the societal expectations of the time, and delve into the
overarching messages that Louisa May Alcott sought to convey.
The difficulty arises not only from the need to analyze the characters' individual growth but also
in unraveling the subtle nuances of Alcott's narrative style. The author artfully weaves together
elements of romance, feminism, and societal critique, demanding a keen analytical eye to
uncover the layers beneath the surface.
Moreover, an effective essay on "Little Women" requires a comprehensive understanding of the
historical and cultural context in which the novel is set. The exploration of gender roles, the
constraints imposed by societal norms, and the characters' responses to these challenges add
further layers of complexity.
Beyond the literary analysis, the essay must present a unique perspective or argument that
contributes to the existing discourse on "Little Women." It requires creativity and critical
thinking to offer fresh insights into a novel that has been scrutinized by scholars and readers
alike for over a century.
In essence, writing an essay on "Little Women" demands a delicate balance of literary analysis,
historical contextualization, and original interpretation. It is a task that requires diligence,
research, and a genuine passion for the subject matter to truly capture the essence of Alcott's
timeless work.
For those seeking assistance in navigating the intricacies of such essays, a variety of resources
are available. Professional writing services, likeHelpWriting.net, offer a platform where similar

The History Of Colonial Latin America
When the Spanish and the Portuguese established the colonies in the Americas, not
only did they bring their material culture of technologies, clothes, cuisines,
architecture, crops, and animals but they also brought their intellectual traditions
such as that of honor. The history of colonial Latin America gives many questions
related to the understanding of honor. The culture of honor during this period of time
was pivotal as it provided a set of values that organized society and individual lives.
Legal codes, social gatherings, seating arrangements were all mixed in with cultural
meanings, which helps define status within a system of honor. Honor is also seen
within fiction produced from the colonial Latin American period with the production
of work such as Don Juan Tenorio and Don Quixote. These dramatic works glorify the
chivalric tradition of honor, romanticizing it and creating a flattering fiction that the
eliteof colonial Latin America found convenient to strive for. Literary critics and
cultural historians have studied the structure honor code of this period closely and
in this book it can also be seen that honor can be irrationally inflexible, cruel and
especially oppressive toward those of lower class, tainted lineage and female gender
during this time. In this book, The Faces of Honor: Sex, Shame, and Violence in
Colonial Latin America, scholars Lyman L. Johnson and Sonya Lipsett Rivera take
on the difficult but exciting task of trying to define the idea and

For best results, gently wash the affected area, and allow your bottom to dry. Then,
apply up to a tablespoon of coconut oil with your fingertips. In addition to healing
your painful rash, it will also act as a barrier between your skin and excess waste.

Apple cider vinegar is also useful for treating rear end rash naturally. It contains
alpha hydroxy acids that remove dead skin to reveal healthy new skin.
ACV also contains malic acid, making it a good defense against viruses, bacteria, and

P5,M2 Unit 1 Business Enviroment Essay
P5 Describe how John Lewis would be influenced by economic factors in a time of
economic recession and economic growth in the UK economy
The two economic environments that I would be describing about are recession
and growth on the business activities of John Lewis. Growth occurs when more
goods are being produced and consumed, and also incomes are rising. During
growth people spend more money on goods and services as they have more money
to spend and also businesses would invest more and hire more labour as it links to
increasing demand. Recession however occurs when people involved in business
become more cautious so they cut their spending down and also cut back on their
orders as well as making workers unemployed or redundant. ... Show more content on

This will benefit John Lewis as sales for the good quality products would be
increasing which furthermore could lead to John Lewis recovering from their
losses if they were in one and go into break even or begin to start getting profits.
John Lewis would buy more stock from its suppliers at this period of the economic
environment as when demand increases you must get more supply to meet that
demand. Also John Lewis at the time since they buy in bulk from their suppliers
they can benefit from getting more stock at a good price that gives good value for
money, as usually suppliers would offer you extra amounts of stock if you buy in
large quantities. During this period of time interest rates would be low compared
to in recession because there isn t as much financial institutions to try get as much
finance as they can from small amounts of borrowings from their company in this
period as customers, business etc intend to borrow more money in this period of
time as they are fairly financially stable, so to encourage the businesses and
customers to begin taking sources of finance they lower the rates. So John Lewis is
more likely to start borrowing sources of finance if needed then in the period of
growth.
Recession affects the business activities for John Lewis because in recessions it

The Assassination Of Timothy Mcveigh
Ever since its creation America has always been seen as the icon for peace and
prosperity; however, just like every other nation in the world, America has
encountered some exceedingly dark and sinister incidents of the past years. Like
David Berkowitz s killing spree in New York City during the summer of 1976, the
Virginia Tech shooting that took place on the college campus in 2007, and even the
horrific Oklahoma City Bombing that Timothy McVeigh orchestrated in 1995. But
there is one event in particular that was even more heinous and stranger than any of
those the JonestownMassacre. It was a mass suicide that occurred on November 18,

It was after several moves starting in the Midwest and ending in the Westcoast that
Jones decided that the Peoples Temple needed to emigrate from San Francisco to
Guyana in order to escape what he believed to be creeping fascism in the United
States. Jones was a Marxist after all so there was always that need to rebel against
America and its capitalistic ideas (Russell 39). And the communist utopia that
Jones and the Peoples Temple had created (Jonestown) began to flourish. It had
seemed that the utopia Jones had always envisioned was now reality. The members
of the Peoples Temple began to feel at home because it was a place where anyone
no matter what race, gender, or even age could live in perfect harmony with one
another. In fact during its first phase of existence it could actually be considered a
proper socialist community from the point of view of a true political scientist
(Latson). And it was not until the late 1970s that Jim Jones and Jonestown began to
crumble which could only be explained by Jones unusual metamorphosis. Nobody
really knows for sure what happened to him when he and the Peoples Temple had left
the United States to build their community in Guyana, but it would be something that
would end up destroying not only himself but everything he and the Peoples Temple
had created. In 1978 it had become evident that the

Elephant Population As A Tragedy
Elephant Population As a Tragedy
Of the many problems that Pascaland faces, one that is becoming a major concern is
the elephant population. As the new bureaucrat in charge of preserving and
protecting wildlife within Pascaland, it has become my duty to enlist the elephant
species as endangered due to the fact of the lack of restrictions on how to kill them.
Big game hunters have made of a sport to hunt and kill them, poachers trap and
capture them for their ivory tusks and nearby farmers kill them in order to protect
their crops from being trampled. In order to maintain the elephant population, we
need to create more government policies and regulations that work to preserve the
elephants and uphold a balanced ecosystem. I will first begin to explain how this
issue has become a type of Hardin s commons tragedy, then after using his solutions, I
will analyze and formulate a plausible solution, while also using arguments from
other people.
As Garrett Hardin refers to it, a commons tragedy is a problem that occurs when
individuals exploit a shared resource to an extent that it will start to decline and
will take away the privilege of others to use it. The elephants in Pascaland have now
become a tragedy of the commons. Many people have long enjoyed and even took
long journeys in order to see and interact with these large beasts. However, this
enjoyment is declining, and soon, future generations will not get a chance to even see
these creatures as their population is being

the charge had been changed. At that moment, the judge looked up at the young man
and lectured him on the dangers of driving. The lawyer stepped backwards a little

The Notebook By Nicholas Sparks Essay
A romantic drama film is a genre that explores the difficult aspects that come with
love. The plot usually includes two people that are in love that can t be together the
way they want to be due to obstacles. The obstacles in a romantic drama film can
include a family s disapproval, to forbidden love, to one s own psychological
restrictions. The Notebook is a movie based on a best selling novel that was
written by author Nicholas Sparks. This is a love story that is composed of a series
of obstacles between two young people that are madly in love with each other. It
perfectly fits and displays the criteria for a successful romantic drama film because it
includes the complexity of love, and elicits emotions.
In The Notebook there are countless obstacles between the two main characters that
are in love. This allows the movie to fit into the drama aspect of the genre,
displaying the complexity of their love. Complex love includes the drama, and
difficulties of a relationship, while still being closely connected to the romantic parts
of a relationship. This is prevalent in The Notebook. Allie and Noah, played by well
known actors Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling, were two people from different
social classes. Allie was from a wealthy, privileged upper class family while Noah
was making around 40 cents an hour at a lumber yard job. While love is not
confined to the amount of money that each person has, in the 1940 s, which is the
setting of the movie, social class played an

When two or more parties agree through offer and acceptance, and provide

Therapeutic Alliance Essay
According to Bordin (1979), therapeutic alliance was referred to the relationship
where therapist and client are committed in collaborative and purposeful work.
Bordin further explained therapeutic alliance into three components bonds, goals and
tasks. Bond was known as the interaction and connectedness between therapist and
client. It suggested the therapist s interpersonal attitudes, approaches and the impacts
on client. Goal defined as purpose of the helping process what lead the therapist and
client working together in the alliance. Task was referred to the actions conducted by
the therapist and client, it was goal directed in nature. According to Carkhuff and
Berenson (1977), it is the manner of the helper, not his theory or technique that
communicates understanding and fosters growth . Therapeutic alliance has impacts

Congruent conveys the qualities of being real, the therapist has to be aware of his

The First Real Newspaper, Relation, And Politics
The first real newspaper, Relation, was printed in 1605 in Strasbourg. The first
French paper was published in 1632. The first regularly published English
newspaper appeared in London in 1622. They were owner operated, and were largely
autonomous, although risky because talking about royalty and politics was illegal.
Most early newspapers were short lived. Printing and paper were expensive and
relatively few people could read. Journalism was also a risky business, as those in
power did not welcome criticism or scrutiny.
The late 18th century saw an important shift in European societies, namely the
formation of a group known as the public . Urban life had to develop sufficiently for
strangers to be regularly thrown into contact with one another. Common interests
began to be widely shared among people otherwise not linked by family, religion, or
other established categories of social life. A rising bourgeois class came out from
under exclusive royal control, bringing with them leisure time, education, and
financial means. It signalled a power shift, both financial and political.
In 1729 Benjamin Franklin, then owner editor of the Pennsylvania Gazzette,
pioneered the idea of paid newspaper advertising. He also put in place a policy of
editorial impartiality, clearly articulated in an editorial column in the Pennsylvania
Gazette in 1731, voicing sentiments familiar to journalists of the digital area: If all

Guns Of Technological Advances On Everyday Items
In this day in age, dozens of technological advances on everyday items have made
our life seem much easier, ranging from the increased sophistication and
complexity of our cellphones and even our automobiles. Without a doubt, such
innovations cause our days seem tranquil, safe, and trouble free. However, as time
progressed, harmful and dangerous items, as well, have become more efficient in
accomplishing their predetermined function. One such item is a firearm. Centuries
ago, in the times of political revolutions, colonization, and imperialism, guns were
used to exert power over a weaker group. Unlike like today, guns of that time were
rudimentary compared to modern guns. Past guns could only shoot one bullet at a
time, and then the shooter was forced to reload. Fast forward to 2014, people have
access to armaments that can fire hundreds of rounds in mere seconds. Such
advancements on the fire rate and overall efficiency of these weapons have become a
problem throughout nations around the globe. In the United States, in particular,
guns are misused. Gangs shooting at rival gangs that result in the death of civilians,
random mass shootings in movie theaters and schools, or even sociopaths who use a
gun to kill their defenseless loved ones are several examples. These forms of gun
violence, and many other forms, must be put to an end. Some may argue that to end
gun violence, the Second Amendment of the Bill of Rights from the U.S constitution
ought to be repealed. Perhaps at
Ice Hockey Is The Highest Level For Men s Hockey
Ice hockey is a contact team sport played on ice, usually in a rink, in which two
teams of skaters use their sticks to shoot a vulcanized rubber puck into their
opponent s net to score points. Ice hockey teams usually consist of four lines of
three forwards, three pairs of defencemen, and two goaltenders. Normally, each
team has five players who skate up and down the ice trying to take the puck and
score a goal against the opposing team. Teams normally have a goaltender as their
sixth on ice player, whose job is to prevent the puck from entering the goal.

The contemporary sport of ice hockey was developed in Canada, most notably in
Winsor, where the first hockey game was played on March 3, 1875. Some
characteristics of that game, such as the length of the ice rink and the use of a
puck, have been retained to this day. Amateur ice hockey leagues began in the
1880s, and professional ice hockey originated around 1900. The Stanley Cup,
emblematic of ice hockey club supremacy, was first awarded in 1893 to recognize
the Canadian amateur champion and later became the championship trophy of the
NHL. In the early 1900s, the Canadian rules were adopted by the Ligue
Internationale de Hockey sur Glace, the precursor of the IIHF and the sport was
played for the first time in the Olympics in the Olympic Games of 1920.
In international competitions, the national teams of six countries (The Big Six )

States. Of the 69 medals awarded all time in men s competition at the Olympics,
only six medals were not awarded to one of those countries. In the annual Ice

Waiting For Godot Literary Analysis
Literary texts such as short stories, poems, and dramatic texts are usually read for
pleasure and entertainment. They may be a haven for some who want to take a
break from reality. When one reads, he or she plunges into a new space, or a new
world, created by the author s imagination. At the same time, the reader is also seeing
life and reality through the author s eyes. Literature reflects the human life and
condition in a way that it enables readers to relate with the characters and their
situations. It depicts how humans try to cling to life and search for its meaning and
purpose. However, life is truly meaningless and humans just create the illusion of
desire to justify their own existence. Some may think that characters from a story,...

Vladimir and Estragon are humans, and their repeated scenario is life. Life is
meaningless. Man just makes up the desire, the Godot, the illusion that life has
meaning that he gives himself to justify his own existence in this world. He
continuously waits for Godot, even though he is not certain if he will ever come.
While they wait, they get distractions in Pozzo and Lucky, which makes them believe
that something is actually happening. Like in a man s life, he has distractions while
waiting for his desire to arrive. And because he feels that something is happening, he
is led to believe that life is not nothing after all and that he is heading somewhere
because something is happening.
Throughout the play, Estragon repeatedly tells Vladimir that they should leave and
abandon the wait, but Vladimir would always remind him that they cannot go and
that We re waiting for Godot. (Beckett 443) Vladimir and Estragon are actually man
s two sides of thinking: Estragon is his nagging thought: what if life is truly
meaningless? What if this Godot is not really coming and this long wait is all for
nothing? But he also has Vladimir who reminds him: But what if you leave and

the emphysema was in the path of the biopsy needle. Stanley et al[49] conducted a
study to evaluate the diagnostic yield and complications of CT guided thoracic

size and lesion depth. Risk factors influencing haemoptysis rate were found to be the
traversed lung length and lesion size. Analysis of risk factors affecting complications

A similar observation was noted by Guimaraes et al[6] in their study that evaluated

subpleural lesions. Radiological evaluation of bronchogenic carcinoma
Bronchogenic carcinoma accounts for over 95% of all primary lung tumours[53].

Reasons To Abolish The Penny
When talking about the penny there are two very distinct separate sides, one that
says to get rid of the penny and one that says to keep it. People arguing to get rid of
the penny say that it costs to much to make and we would be better off without it.
While people rooting for the penny say that doing away with it would cause tons
of problems with rounding. Personally I think that we as a county need to abolish
the penny and I will show you why. One reason to abolish the penny is that we will
get a boost in the economy due to large amounts, of now free to spend cash. In his
article Keinsley explains what the U.S is losing from producing then selling pennies
in just one year: The US government generated $58 million in seigniorage from the
SFX Makeup
What do you imagine when you think of makeup artists on set in a movie?
Possibly someone applying blush and contour on actors to spice their looks. Well,
SFX makeup is something like that. The only thing different is SFX artists see,
blood, cuts, bruises, and organs as a way to spice actors looks. So what is SFX
makeup? And how has it changed over time since 1930? The first trace of FX
makeup s popularity was in 1925 when Phantom of the Opera was released. The
Phantom always wore a mask to hide his deformed features on his face. But in that
time, actors would put on their own FX makeup. He had dark tones surrounding his
eyes and a small wire to pull his nose up and back (Hannigan). In the Late 1930 s,
FX makeup was beginning to change, The
The Role Of Harpies In Greek Mythology
In Greek mythology, Harpies are terrifying creatures that can do anything to daunt
the people on Earth. They are interesting in that they have the chest and head of a
woman on the body of a bird. People are always able to see the Harpies once they
disobey the gods on Mount Olympus. Harpies are a symbol of evil forces or bad
Karma getting repaid with some sort of punishment for payment. A story that some
people know about the horrifying creatures takes place with Aeneas and his men.

Lewis the Leader Meriwether Lewis is the main reason that the United States
territory extends from the Atlantic Ocean all the way to the Pacific Ocean (
Meriwether Lewis 2). He has done many great things, but he is best known for

faced tons of dangers in his life but he overcame all of them. Lewis helped change
the face of the United Statesby exploring uncharted territory the American West (
Meriwether Lewis 2).
Lewis had a very interesting life and he showed it in a countless number of ways.

Lewis was very brave when he fought off a group of Blackfeet Indians after being
attacked (1). The Corps stayed over the winter at Oregon after they reached the
Pacific Ocean and then returned home to complete their approximately 8,000 mile
journey. When the group returned Thomas Jeffersonwas excited and he payed Lewis
with a salary, 1,600 acres of land, and he was named governor of the Louisiana
Territory. Sadly he died on October 12, 1809, near Nashville Tennessee, where he
committed suicide, but some people think he may have been murdered (2).
Meriwether Lewis had some outstanding ideals that he pursued in his lifetime and
he showed several examples of these ideals. According to Frances Hunter, Lewis
was a mason which is not really a religion but it supports a supreme being. Frances
Hunter also states that he gave a sermon for the death of Charles Floyd and the
Corps of Discovery celebrated Christmas with dancing and a feast. Gary Moulton
says that Meriwether told the Native Americans the two groups should remain
friends and Thomas Jefferson would watch over them (223). Lewis wanted to
explore America and he reached his goal by being hardworking and determined
(222b).
Meriwether Lewis should be in the history hall of fame because he did many great
things for America and contributed to its expansion. Gary Moulton believes he
claimed the Oregon region for America (222b). Lewis led to
Bruce Willis
Bruce Willis has been at the center of the film world long enough that there could
easily be twice this many interesting facts about the actor. That being said, here s part
two of the list...
Number Nine: He Had Some Strange Jobs Before Acting. While he tried to find
success in the acting world, Bruce Willis has a security guard, a factory employee
and even a private investigator.
Number Eight: He Was a Spokesperson for Seagram While He Struggled with His
Own Drinking. In the 80 s, the actor could be seen in advertisements for Seagrams
Wine Coolers of all the possible endorsements, why those? At the same time, the actor
was struggling to manage his own drinking habits.

It is hard to believe, since this is the role that made him who he is today. But he
might still be working as a private investigator if Arnold Schwarzenegger and
Sylvestor Stallone hadn t rejected the role.
Number Five: He Was Arrested for Assaulting a Police Officer. The officer came to
his mom in 1987 after the police were called in response to a noise complaint. All the
charges were eventually dropped.
Number Four: He s Done with Violence in Movies. After years as one of the
reigning stars of violent action films, Bruce Willis has renounced his gun toting past
and is swearing off acting in any violent movies.
Number Three: He Co Founded Planet Hollywood. The restaurant was started with
the money of himself, along with Demi Moore, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester
Stallone.
Number Two: He Supported the War in Iraq. Bruce Willis may not advocate violence
in movies any longer, but that didn t stop him from endorsing one of the most
unpopular foreign policy decisions in United States history.
Number One: He Offered $1 Million for the Capture of Saddam Hussein. Which, it
turns out, is not legal. Saddam was captured, of course, but no one got paid by Bruce

in my opinion it means hanging out with your good friends and doing things together.

Clyne s Revision of Grice s Maxims Essay
Grice s Maxims have been criticised for being too Anglo centric. Michael Clyne
proposes revisions to the four maxims in his 1994 book Intercultural
Communication at Work. Do Clyne s revisions of this model go far enough in
universally accounting for intercultural conversation? Why or why not? Grice s
General Cooperative Principle has been under continuous debate for the past three
decades. It is mainly through the maxims that Grice s paradigm has been challenged
as highly ethnocentric, however such readings may tend to take the maxims too
literally rather than as reference points for language interchange (Allan as cited in
Clyne, 1994, p. 11). There is some agreement in this, but as suggested by Mey (1994,
p. 74), the principle and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In such cases, there is a clash between Grice s maxims and the pragmatic rules of
conversation, which are culturally sensitive. For example, when being offered a
drink, a typical Chinese person would automatically say no the first time, while
expecting the offer to be made at least two or three times more. This resembles a
kind of phatic language communication; saying no, but not really meaning no. In
this sort of situation, if someone doesn t adhere to the cultural norm choosing to
follow Grice s maxims instead, then they would sound odd and out of place. The
above example demonstrates that Grice s maxims aren t relevant in all contexts as
they clash with certain cultural values systems. Many linguists (Clyne, 1994;
Hymes, 1986; Loveday, 1983; Walsh, 2009) have picked up on this discrepancy
between theory and data, claiming that the maxims are only relevant to the English
speaking Western world. In particular, Clyne (1994) has pointed out that they have
limited relevance to cultures where content and knowledge are core values. For
example, speakers of Malagasy, whose form of co operation seems to consist in
making their contributions as opaque, convoluted and non perspicuous as possible
(Keenan as cited in Mey, 1994, p. 74) could be seen as flouting the Maxim of
Quantity. This is because information, especially new information gives the holder a
certain amount of prestige, thus Malagasy people tend to

If successful, additional locations will be added. This program is intended to
increase ridership by making access to bicycle storage more secure, which will
enable people to ride their bikes to the bus stations and commute on public
transportation. Before this pilot program was conceived, commuters needed to
ride their bicycles to transit stations, lock them up on an unattended rack at the
stations or bring them on the bus and store them at their end destinations. Many
people do not work in buildings with secure bike storage and theft at the
unattended and exposed racks is a concern for riders because bicycles cost
hundreds, sometimes thousands of dollars. Transit staff believes this cumbersome
and unsecure process deters bicycle riders from utilizing public transit during their
commutes. As a remedy, this project entails building a large secure room with
racks for bicycle storage onto transit stations. The rooms will be climate controlled
with HVAC systems, security cameras, Wi Fi access, and have a controlled entry.
Nancy s responsibilities in creating this program included the development of the
software that enables customers to register for this program and use their existing
go to cards as a way to access the bike storage area. While the Metropolitan Council
uses many different types of software and IS service packages that have varying
degrees of customization from 0% percent customized to 100% customized, this
particular project was conceived, designed, developed, and implemented completely

The Monroe Doctrine Post Monroe Essay
The Monroe Doctrine Post Monroe Application after its Declaration by Monroe
President John Tyler After Monroe s proclamation (in the following decades),
American lawmakers did not resort to the doctrine critical of the Great Powers of
Europe in spite of their sporadic military involvements in Latin America. The
primary concern for Monroe had been making certain that European commercialism
would not be re enforced on a territory of growing economic and ideological
significance to the US. However, when President Tyler made use of the doctrine in
justifying the annexation of Texas in 1842, a newspaper in Venezuela criticized the
move; the newspaper cautioned other republics in Latin America against the US, by
stating: Beware, brother, the wolf approaches the lambs . During Tyler s presidency,
the US for the foremost time tried to really employ the Monroe Doctrine, when the
British and the French had intervened in Texas after it had triumphed in 1836 in
gaining independence from Mexico in the wake of an insurgence of US colonists
there. Britain and France were involved in a power game in the territory, trying to
counteract its occupation by the US. President Tyler thus resorted to reiterating the
tenets of the Doctrine and admonishing the European powers to disengage themselves
from matters concerning the Western Hemisphere. Tyler asserted (during his 1842
address) that, Carefully abstaining from all interference in questions exclusively

Martin Luther King Essay
Martin Luther King
There are many important things that shape the delivery of your speech. Among the
most important parts of delivery involved are voice production and articulation. Other
important parts of delivery include methods, gestures, eye contact, and the clothing
that you wear. Martin Luther King Jr. is considered one of the most influential
speakers of this century. The deliveryand language of King s speeches has earned
him this label. In the next paragraph I shall examine King s delivery and why he is
considered such a great speaker. If your audience cannot hear you, your speech
servers very little purpose. King s most famous speech took place in nineteen sixty

I feel that everyone has gestures that are unique and King was no different. He moved
around during his speeches and used his hand to emphasize points throughout his
speeches. I cannot decide whether king used the memorization or extemporaneous
method. If I was to choose one I would choose the memorization method. During the
speeches of
King we viewed he never losses eye contact with the audience. This is one of the
reasons why I choose the memorization method. I also feel King s speeches came
straight from his heart. King was a Baptist minister and was without a doubt filled
with the spirit of god. I feel King s speeches were influenced by the spirit that lived
within his heart. The book states that your appearance should be in harmony with
your message. King s speeches were all based on serious spiritual and political
issues and a suit and tie were the attire that he choose to wear. King was a educated
man and was without a doubt educated in the area of fundamental speech skills.
The textbook states that the most effective language was simple, clear, and direct.
King practiced all three of these when performing his speeches. King s language
was simple in that the people he was speaking to could comprehend what he was
speaking about. He was very clear about the points in which he was speaking about.
He also came directly to the reason why he was speaking, he did not beat around the
bush.
King used emotions to sway people to see things his way. King
One Of The World s Biggest Fishing Collapse Summary

author Rachael Bale talked about China s actions towards South China Sea are
putting food supplies, homes, and lives of millions and environment at risk. In the
early years, fishermen could fish freely in the South China Sea. As years go by, many
of the them were prohibited to fishingin the South China sea. They are now facing a
situation whether if they can feed their family. The reason being that China took a
forceful action towards the control of the sea. That is to not allow foreigner to fishin

China would set up defense toward illegal actions of the foreign fishermen. One of
the fish man said to the author, One minute you will see an airplane, then there is
naval boat. If we keep going over there, maybe we won t be able to go home to see
our family. It is just not the Philippine, but Vietnamese are forbidden to the sea as
well (Bale 2016). The attacking of the civilian is one of the main causes of the
tension. To make the case worse, there is conflict when a country tries to defense its
own territory. The article mentioned, Indonesian maritime law enforcement officials
arrested eight Chinese on charges of illegal fishing. The fishermen were less than
three miles near the water from Indonesia s Natuna Island. Under international law,
the land belongs to Indonesian, but they are partially overlap with China s U shaped
line claims. So, the China says it has the right to fish there (Bale 2016). There is
always conflict when international law and country s law comes head to head,
because no country is willing to give up their own property. China refuse to
participate in any solution which has stretched out the tension more. As previously
mentioned, the Philippines brought this case to the in Permanent Court of Arbitration
but China chose to continue to ignore the decision of the Court. United States is an
ally of the Philippines. There will be billions of deaths if a war between United

Inequality In Australia
Distribution of Income Economic journalist Chelsea Gwynne investigates Australia s
distribution of income and its impact on the overall standard of living. Income
distribution sits at the top of the political agenda as Inequality between those with the
most and those with the least wealth in Australia is on the rise. Despite consistent
public support for reducing inequality in the distribution of income, the government
is seeking to reduce income support. In fact, in recent months the Liberal government
has begun to argue that inequality is not just unavoidable, but also beneficial. Rather
than use the welfare system to redistribute income, the government is seeking to

Thus inequality may have a generally slowing effect on economic growth (Holmes,
2014). A number of economists have argued that inequality leads to economic
instability. One mechanism by which this happens is that the rich consume a smaller
proportion of their income than the poor. They save money, which people on lower
incomes would spend. This leads to a reduction in aggregate demand, which in turn
leads to unemployment (Holmes, 2014). In response, governments take measures to
stimulate demand, such as lowering interest rates. This feeds into asset bubbles for
example, unsustainably high housing prices (OANDA,
Media Portrayal Of Violence In The Media
The risk of developing aggressive behavior is high among children who were
raised in a negative environment such as social and economic factors play a huge
role. The primary place a children is in is at home. Poverty has a significant impact
on a child s social behavior these children that are raised in poor environments have
a higher risk of behavior problems. Impoverished communities have a wide range of
people living there not all the people in that neighborhood may have the same
parenting styles or teach their child to behave. Children in impoverished
neighborhoods can often play with other kids outdoors and since other children may
not be raised to behave well they will bring that behavior in their homes and begin to
use it. Potential behavior that can arise from other children who do not behave can
lead to not respecting others, anger, and violence.
The media has been linked to aggressive behavior in children. The outcome of
media portrayal of violence can have lasting effects such as children can be begin
to feel less sensitive to the pain and suffering of others. Sometimes watching
violence can even be enjoyable because of how the media plays it out to be. It may
be funny or no consequences or punishment to violent act committed. Violence seems
to be everywhere, on television, news, video games and especially movies this
creates a distorted view of what reality truly is. Children that watch violence on
television will at some point imitate those aggressive acts

There are four different types of methods to be used by an occupational therapy to
treat their clients with motor control problems to enable clients functional movement,
and independence. These methods are Rood, Brunnstrom,
Neurodevelopmental(NDT) also known as Bobath s, and Proprioceptive
Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF). These four methods have similarities according to
their different perspectives on how clients are going to be treated with abnormal
tones. These four methods are very helpful for OTs/OTAs to treat their clients.
Examples of these dysfunctions are abnormal muscle tones such as; rigidity
antagonist and agonist are both working together, spasticityhypertonic; and flaccidity
Hypotonic, as well as different abnormal reactions of the client such as; inability to
do righting reactions, equilibrium reactions; and protective extension reactions. There
are also two types of abnormal reflexesthat the client might manifest if they have a
CNS dysfunction and those are Asymmetrical Tonic Reflexes for an Infant, and Deep
Tendon Reflexfor an adult. Incoordination of Dorsal Column, Basal Ganglia, and
Cerebellar are also examples of CNS Dysfunctions that the client might have. Using
these 4 approaches, such as rood s, brunnstrom s, bobath s and pnf, will help reduce
all of those abnormal patterns and normalize tone, posture, and balance.

Political Parties During Americ The Great Rights That...

16 October 2015
Political Parties in America Voting is one of the great rights that every American
citizen is entitled to. It gives Americans the chance to voice their pleasure, or
displeasure, with those who represent them in public office by selecting who they
believe best represents their values and beliefs. But who organizes the candidates?
What are they affiliated with? The answer is political parties. A political party is
an organization of people who share the same views about the way power should
be used in a country or a society . It is typically accepted that political parties in
america serve four functions. The first being that they selected candidates who best
represent them to run for office. The second is they mobilize voters and convince
these voters to vote for their selected candidates. Third, they facilitate governance by
bringing some sort of order to the process of lawmaking. And finally fourth, they
monitor the opposing party whenever they are in power. (Shmoop, Role of Political
Parties ) In america s fine democracy, there are two major political parties that
represent two ends of the political spectrum, The Democrats and The Republicans.
The typical american voter can be starch supporter of one, or fall somewhere in
between. Although the Democratic party and the Republican party have competing
values, they share more in common than most people think and are a pivotal pillar of
American Democracy.
The American Revolution, A Slave, And The Slaves
A slave is a human being that is classed as property and is under the control of
another. The system of slavery came about as a result of the need for a labor force to
help maintain the booming trade system that started in the Americas and the
Caribbean. This led to Africans being kidnapped from their homeland and then
shipped across the Atlantic to the Americasto provide the needed labor. During and
after the fight for the Independence of America there was divide within the nation as
to what to do about the matter of slavery. There were many who were quite happy
with the current situation while there were others who felt it needed to end. With this
divide came the abolition movement that started in 1830s. The American Revolution
brought the emancipation of America from under British control. This all started as
result of the American colonists feeling that they were being unjustly treated and not
being seen as equals by the British Parliament. The American Revolution was fought
on the premise of equal rights for all. It was an eye opener to the hypocrisy that was
taking place in America. This showed a situation where the Americans would not
tolerate being taxed without representation in Parliament but yet were perfectly fine
subjecting another human being to hard labor with no pay and the absolute removal
of their free will because of their skin color. On this basis the system needed to end.
The Americans had no right to treat fellow human being in such a deplorable
African American History Essay
Slavery began in the late 16th century to early 18th century. Africans were brought
to American colonies by white masters to come and work on their plantations in the
South. They were treated harshly with no payments for all their hard work. In
addition, they lived under harsh living conditions, and this led to their resistance
against these harsh conditions. The racism towards the African Americans who
were slaves was at its extreme as they did not have any rights; no civil nor political
rights. The conditions were worse for the slaves, and they decided to resist in order
to free themselves from the slavery institution. African slaves used various strategies
of resistance to slavery. According to Hine, Hine, and Harrold (66), such... Show

This helped them to meet, and educate themselves on how to be set free from the
slavery institution. In addition, the slaves also used ways like being ignorant,
malingering, and slow while working so as to free themselves from slavery. In
addition, they could also feign sickness so as not to work and gain relief from the
harsh working conditions. The slaves could do all these in order to be alienated
from their masters, and at least have a rest from the heavy work loads. Some
slaves even used extreme forms of day to day acts like suicide, arson, self
mutilation, and even murder of their masters and mistresses. Slaves could go to an
extent of taking poison, cutting of their fingers, arms, legs, and toes just to avoid
working. They poisoned, injured and murdered their masters in desperate hopes of
getting freedom from slavery, and the harsh treatments they were receiving. The
slaves used rebellions or anti slavery movements as a form of resistance against
slavery. However, the result of slave insurrections was mass executions, and many
of them avoided these rebellions for the fear of being executed. The famous
insurrections in the American history were the Gabriel Prossey s conspiracy in
1800, Nat Turner s Rebellion in 1831, and the Stono Rebellion of 1739. Among these
rebellions, only the Nat
A Brief Note On Bitcoin And The New Wave Of Money
Michael Rodriguez James Maughn English 1A 20 May 2015 Bitcoins Bitcoin is
to be said in small circles of the internet and the new wave of money but looking at
its past may give us second thoughts about whole heartedly accepting bitcoins. What
was once considered obscure in 2009 is now making headlines all over the news
with FBI shutdowns, and bankruptcies. The instability to establish itself as
legitimate currency is troubling. Even though its constantly on the headlines, to be
honest the triumph of bitcoins is less likely going to take over as the primary
source of income. The causes of why bitcoin got hyped up. A small of amount of
people who completely understand how bitcoin works is incredibly small and this
also counts its users as... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

to 2008 in a paper written by pseudonymous Satoshi Nakamoto. Which recently last
year Newsweek claimed to have the found the mysterious nakamoto, But he denied
all of the reports, so after seven years the whole thing still remains a mystery.

Analysis Of I Dreamed The Last Diamond Darter
I Dreamed The Last Diamond Darter is a very curious and peculiar play. Before
seeing the play, I had no idea what it would be about. It s very interesting to go into
a play, not knowing what s going to happen in the story and what the characters are
like. Before I saw the show, I had an open mind and was looking forward to seeing a
new show. Sadly, after seeing the show I was extremely disappointed in the playand
was confused about the entire show. There are many reasons that can contribute to
my last statement. First, the costumes and set design of the show. There were a total
of four characters in this show and each characterhad their own uniqueness. The
three girls in the play all had different costumes. These costumes were fine, but the
problem was that I had no idea which character was which. It was so confusing and
frustrating now knowing why that specific character was wearing those types of
clothes. Throughout the play, I was able to get a read on why the characters were
wearing what they were. It helped explained what type of character they were
trying to portray in the story. The three women in the story wore jeans, leggings,
boots, jackets, and long dresses. Now the gentleman that was in the play I believe
played more than one character role in the show. From what I can remember he was
a night watchman and a girl s boyfriend throughout the story. They did a better job of
explaining his character and his costumes were pretty self explanatory. He wore a long

  • 1. Little Women Essay Crafting an essay on the topic of "Little Women" is no small feat. While the novel itself provides a rich tapestry of characters, themes, and societal nuances, the challenge lies in distilling this complexity into a coherent and insightful essay. One must navigate the intricate relationships among the March sisters, explore the societal expectations of the time, and delve into the overarching messages that Louisa May Alcott sought to convey. The difficulty arises not only from the need to analyze the characters' individual growth but also in unraveling the subtle nuances of Alcott's narrative style. The author artfully weaves together elements of romance, feminism, and societal critique, demanding a keen analytical eye to uncover the layers beneath the surface. Moreover, an effective essay on "Little Women" requires a comprehensive understanding of the historical and cultural context in which the novel is set. The exploration of gender roles, the constraints imposed by societal norms, and the characters' responses to these challenges add further layers of complexity. Beyond the literary analysis, the essay must present a unique perspective or argument that contributes to the existing discourse on "Little Women." It requires creativity and critical thinking to offer fresh insights into a novel that has been scrutinized by scholars and readers alike for over a century. In essence, writing an essay on "Little Women" demands a delicate balance of literary analysis, historical contextualization, and original interpretation. • 2. The History Of Colonial Latin America When the Spanish and the Portuguese established the colonies in the Americas, not only did they bring their material culture of technologies, clothes, cuisines, architecture, crops, and animals but they also brought their intellectual traditions such as that of honor. The history of colonial Latin America gives many questions related to the understanding of honor. The culture of honor during this period of time was pivotal as it provided a set of values that organized society and individual lives. Legal codes, social gatherings, seating arrangements were all mixed in with cultural meanings, which helps define status within a system of honor. Honor is also seen within fiction produced from the colonial Latin American period with the production of work such as Don Juan Tenorio and Don Quixote. These dramatic works glorify the chivalric tradition of honor, romanticizing it and creating a flattering fiction that the eliteof colonial Latin America found convenient to strive for. Literary critics and cultural historians have studied the structure honor code of this period closely and in this book it can also be seen that honor can be irrationally inflexible, cruel and especially oppressive toward those of lower class, tainted lineage and female gender during this time. In this book, The Faces of Honor: Sex, Shame, and Violence in Colonial Latin America, scholars Lyman L. Johnson and Sonya Lipsett Rivera take on the difficult but exciting task of trying to define the idea and

Growth occurs when more goods are being produced and consumed, and also incomes are rising. During growth people spend more money on goods and services as they have more money to spend and also businesses would invest more and hire more labour as it links to increasing demand. Also John Lewis at the time since they buy in bulk from their suppliers they can benefit from getting more stock at a good price that gives good value for money, as usually suppliers would offer you extra amounts of stock if you buy in large quantities. During this period of time interest rates would be low compared to in recession because there isn t as much financial institutions to try get as much finance as they can from small amounts of borrowings from their company in this period as customers, business etc intend to borrow more money in this period of time as they are fairly financially stable, so to encourage the businesses and customers to begin taking sources of finance they lower the rates. The first regularly published English newspaper appeared in London in 1622. They were owner operated, and were largely autonomous, although risky because talking about royalty and politics was illegal. Most early newspapers were short lived. Printing and paper were expensive and relatively few people could read. Journalism was also a risky business, as those in power did not welcome criticism or scrutiny. The late 18th century saw an important shift in European societies, namely the formation of a group known as the public . Urban life had to develop sufficiently for strangers to be regularly thrown into contact with one another. Common interests began to be widely shared among people otherwise not linked by family, religion, or other established categories of social life. Guns Of Technological Advances On Everyday Items In this day in age, dozens of technological advances on everyday items have made our life seem much easier, ranging from the increased sophistication and complexity of our cellphones and even our automobiles. Without a doubt, such innovations cause our days seem tranquil, safe, and trouble free. However, as time progressed, harmful and dangerous items, as well, have become more efficient in accomplishing their predetermined function. One such item is a firearm. Centuries ago, in the times of political revolutions, colonization, and imperialism, guns were used to exert power over a weaker group. Unlike like today, guns of that time were rudimentary compared to modern guns. Past guns could only shoot one bullet at a time, and then the shooter was forced to reload. • 29. Clyne s Revision of Grice s Maxims Essay Grice s Maxims have been criticised for being too Anglo centric. Michael Clyne proposes revisions to the four maxims in his 1994 book Intercultural Communication at Work. Do Clyne s revisions of this model go far enough in universally accounting for intercultural conversation? Why or why not? Grice s General Cooperative Principle has been under continuous debate for the past three decades. It is mainly through the maxims that Grice s paradigm has been challenged as highly ethnocentric, however such readings may tend to take the maxims too literally rather than as reference points for language interchange (Allan as cited in Clyne, 1994, p. 11). There is some agreement in this, but as suggested by Mey (1994, p. 74), the principle and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In such cases, there is a clash between Grice s maxims and the pragmatic rules of conversation, which are culturally sensitive. For example, when being offered a drink, a typical Chinese person would automatically say no the first time, while expecting the offer to be made at least two or three times more. This resembles a kind of phatic language communication; saying no, but not really meaning no. In this sort of situation, if someone doesn t adhere to the cultural norm choosing to follow Grice s maxims instead, then they would sound odd and out of place. The above example demonstrates that Grice s maxims aren t relevant in all contexts as they clash with certain cultural values systems. Many linguists (Clyne, 1994; Hymes, 1986; Loveday, 1983; Walsh, 2009) have picked up on this discrepancy between theory and data, claiming that the maxims are only relevant to the English speaking Western world. In particular, Clyne (1994) has pointed out that they have limited relevance to cultures where content and knowledge are core values. For example, speakers of Malagasy, whose form of co operation seems to consist in making their contributions as opaque, convoluted and non perspicuous as possible (Keenan as cited in Mey, 1994, p. 74) could be seen as flouting the Maxim of Quantity. This is because information, especially new information gives the holder a certain amount of prestige, thus Malagasy people tend to

This program is intended to increase ridership by making access to bicycle storage more secure, which will enable people to ride their bikes to the bus stations and commute on public transportation. Before this pilot program was conceived, commuters needed to ride their bicycles to transit stations, lock them up on an unattended rack at the stations or bring them on the bus and store them at their end destinations. Many people do not work in buildings with secure bike storage and theft at the unattended and exposed racks is a concern for riders because bicycles cost hundreds, sometimes thousands of dollars. Transit staff believes this cumbersome and unsecure process deters bicycle riders from utilizing public transit during their commutes. As a remedy, this project entails building a large secure room with racks for bicycle storage onto transit stations. The rooms will be climate controlled with HVAC systems, security cameras, Wi Fi access, and have a controlled entry. Nancy s responsibilities in creating this program included the development of the software that enables customers to register for this program and use their existing go to cards as a way to access the bike storage area. While the Metropolitan Council uses many different types of software and IS service packages that have varying degrees of customization from 0% percent customized to 100% customized, this particular project was conceived, designed, developed, and implemented completely in house by Metropolitan Council

The Monroe Doctrine Post Monroe Essay The Monroe Doctrine Post Monroe Application after its Declaration by Monroe President John Tyler After Monroe s proclamation (in the following decades), American lawmakers did not resort to the doctrine critical of the Great Powers of Europe in spite of their sporadic military involvements in Latin America. The primary concern for Monroe had been making certain that European commercialism would not be re enforced on a territory of growing economic and ideological significance to the US. However, when President Tyler made use of the doctrine in justifying the annexation of Texas in 1842, a newspaper in Venezuela criticized the move; the newspaper cautioned other republics in Latin America against the US, by stating: Beware, brother, the wolf approaches the lambs . During Tyler s presidency, the US for the foremost time tried to really employ the Monroe Doctrine, when the British and the French had intervened in Texas after it had triumphed in 1836 in gaining independence from Mexico in the wake of an insurgence of US colonists there. Britain and France were involved in a power game in the territory, trying to counteract its occupation by the US. President Tyler thus resorted to reiterating the tenets of the Doctrine and admonishing the European powers to disengage themselves from matters concerning the Western Hemisphere. Tyler asserted (during his 1842 address) that, Carefully abstaining from all interference in questions exclusively referring themselves to the

Despite consistent public support for reducing inequality in the distribution of income, the government is seeking to reduce income support. In fact, in recent months the Liberal government has begun to argue that inequality is not just unavoidable, but also beneficial. A number of economists have argued that inequality leads to economic instability. One mechanism by which this happens is that the rich consume a smaller proportion of their income than the poor. They save money, which people on lower incomes would spend. This leads to a reduction in aggregate demand, which in turn leads to unemployment (Holmes, 2014). In response, governments take measures to stimulate demand, such as lowering interest rates. This feeds into asset bubbles for example, unsustainably high housing prices (OANDA,

Impoverished communities have a wide range of people living there not all the people in that neighborhood may have the same parenting styles or teach their child to behave. Children in impoverished neighborhoods can often play with other kids outdoors and since other children may not be raised to behave well they will bring that behavior in their homes and begin to use it. Potential behavior that can arise from other children who do not behave can lead to not respecting others, anger, and violence. The media has been linked to aggressive behavior in children. It gives Americans the chance to voice their pleasure, or displeasure, with those who represent them in public office by selecting who they believe best represents their values and beliefs. But who organizes the candidates? What are they affiliated with? The answer is political parties. A political party is an organization of people who share the same views about the way power should be used in a country or a society . It is typically accepted that political parties in america serve four functions. The first being that they selected candidates who best represent them to run for office. The second is they mobilize voters and convince these voters to vote for their selected candidates. Third, they facilitate governance by bringing some sort of order to the process of lawmaking. And finally fourth, they monitor the opposing party whenever they are in power. (Shmoop, Role of Political Parties ) In america s fine democracy, there are two major political parties that represent two ends of the political spectrum, The Democrats and The Republicans. The typical american voter can be starch supporter of one, or fall somewhere in between. Although the Democratic party and the Republican party have competing values, they share more in common than most people think and are a pivotal pillar of American Democracy.
  • 41. The American Revolution, A Slave, And The Slaves A slave is a human being that is classed as property and is under the control of another. The system of slavery came about as a result of the need for a labor force to help maintain the booming trade system that started in the Americas and the Caribbean. This led to Africans being kidnapped from their homeland and then shipped across the Atlantic to the Americasto provide the needed labor. During and after the fight for the Independence of America there was divide within the nation as to what to do about the matter of slavery. There were many who were quite happy with the current situation while there were others who felt it needed to end. With this divide came the abolition movement that started in 1830s. The American Revolution brought the emancipation of America from under British control. This all started as result of the American colonists feeling that they were being unjustly treated and not being seen as equals by the British Parliament. The American Revolution was fought on the premise of equal rights for all. It was an eye opener to the hypocrisy that was taking place in America. This showed a situation where the Americans would not tolerate being taxed without representation in Parliament but yet were perfectly fine subjecting another human being to hard labor with no pay and the absolute removal of their free will because of their skin color. On this basis the system needed to end. The Americans had no right to treat fellow human being in such a deplorable

The slaves could do all these in order to be alienated from their masters, and at least have a rest from the heavy work loads. Before I saw the show, I had an open mind and was looking forward to seeing a new show. Sadly, after seeing the show I was extremely disappointed in the playand was confused about the entire show. There are many reasons that can contribute to my last statement. First, the costumes and set design of the show. There were a total of four characters in this show and each characterhad their own uniqueness. The three girls in the play all had different costumes. These costumes were fine, but the problem was that I had no idea which character was which. It was so confusing and frustrating now knowing why that specific character was wearing those types of clothes. Throughout the play, I was able to get a read on why the characters were wearing what they were. It helped explained what type of character they were trying to portray in the story. The three women in the story wore jeans, leggings, boots, jackets, and long dresses. Now the gentleman that was in the play I believe played more than one character role in the show. From what I can remember he was a night watchman and a girl s boyfriend throughout the story. They did a better job of explaining his character and his costumes were pretty self explanatory. He wore a long
