1. Persasive Essay
Crafting a persuasive essay is a task that often presents itself as both challenging and intricate.
The difficulty lies not only in the need for a compelling argument but also in the art of
persuading the reader to adopt a particular viewpoint. The process demands a delicate balance
between presenting factual information, employing effective rhetoric, and appealing to the
emotions of the audience.
Firstly, extensive research is essential to gather relevant and accurate data to support your claims.
This step alone can be time-consuming and mentally taxing as it requires sifting through
numerous sources, evaluating their credibility, and selecting the most pertinent information. Once
the foundation is laid, the challenge is to organize this information coherently, ensuring a logical
flow that guides the reader through your argument.
Moreover, constructing a persuasive essay demands a keen understanding of your target
audience. Tailoring your language and arguments to resonate with diverse perspectives can be a
daunting task, as it requires empathy and a nuanced approach to communication. Striking the
right balance between ethos, pathos, and logos is crucial to building a persuasive case, and
achieving this equilibrium is an art that requires practice and refinement.
Furthermore, the structure of a persuasive essay can pose a challenge. Balancing the introduction,
body paragraphs, and conclusion while maintaining a cohesive narrative and clear thesis
statement adds another layer of complexity. Crafting a compelling hook to capture the reader's
attention, providing substantial evidence to fortify your position, and concluding with a strong
call to action or summary require a thoughtful and strategic approach.
In conclusion, the process of writing a persuasive essay is a multifaceted challenge that demands
research, empathy, and rhetorical finesse. However, for those seeking assistance, it's worth noting
that resources like HelpWriting.net offer a variety of services. Whether you need guidance,
examples, or even custom essays tailored to your specific requirements, platforms like these can
provide valuable support in navigating the intricacies of persuasive writing.

2. Analysis Of Bowling For Columbine
Michael Moore s Bowling for Columbine (2002) is a documentary exploring America
s predilection for gun violence with a focus on the Columbine High School massacre
of 1999. Moore investigates the background and environment where the massacre
took place. Additionally, the documentary presents common public opinions and
assumptions about related issues.
Within the documentary, Moore uses archival footage of gun violence, pro gun and
anti gun rallies, and news media footage often with this being expressed through
montage with contrapuntal, non diegetic sound. Additionally, Moore uses his own
angry, humorous, and satirical commentary through voice over, and interviews with
civilians on either end of the gun control debate.
Overall, this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Additionally, another form of archival footage comes in the form of Charlton
Heston an American actor who in movie scenes holds and shoots guns, and is
president of the NRA who Moore is fictitiously shooting at. Overall, the use of
Heston is less to convey information or offer exposition, rather Moore is adopting a
dialectical structure wherein he poses himself against a villain which is a complete
binary opposition to himself. Like a fiction film, Heston is posed as the apparent bad
guy of Bowling for Columbine who represents the whole of the NRA, whilst further
representing white, upper class, conservative America. This is further exemplified
in the ending sequence of the documentary where Moore invades Heston s home
akin to how the NRA invades towns after mass shootings and asks him to apologize
to the people of Columbine and Kayla Rolland. When Heston refuses, Moore leaves
a picture of Rolland on his driveway which is thematically leaving the blame for her
death with Heston.
On the other hand, the clip utilizes an interview with a Michigan State Police officer
to offer exposition on the dog shooting case. However, the interview acts less as a
statement from an eyewitness particularly because the police officer was not present
for the shooting and rather as a glimpse

Introduction
My project is based on Performance Evaluation of Databases. Basically testing and
analyzing the system performance, usability, reliability and measures of different
database systems using many kind of SQL queries and statement then compare the
result and finding out which one is better in terms of performance and optimization
techniques. For the evaluation purpose I have used two database systems, they are
Microsoft SQL server management 2012 and Oracle database 10g. I need to evaluate
the performance by running some set of queries on both of the systems which I used

Predominantly evaluation performance is being done to determine how fast and
reliable database system can execute and process queries to give optimize results.
1.1 Objective
My objective of the project is to determine which database management system gives
better, efficient and optimize results after the performance evaluation techniques
applied to that specific database system. In my project I have used Microsoft SQL
server 2012 and Oracle 10 g databases. I need to effectuate which one is best to use
efficiently according to different specific measures and perspective of databases.
Current trend in the world of information technology is that relatively every
organization is managing tens of petabyte of data. There are large proportion of data
which need to be store and managed in database. So there is immense requirement of
efficient and reliable database management system. Database systems need to be
constructed in high reliability methods and techniques in terms of their functionalities
and design. System Performance is an analytical metric that must need great output
for an effective database system. Complex database system is outrageous and
difficult to analyze so performance evaluation is very important concern since
databases are one of the most compelling affair in today s business revolution.

Based on our discussions in class, our readings, video clips and the readings that
discuss about the education provided in nineteenth century England for poor
children and orphans who normally wouldn t be able to afford it, there seems to be
two sides to the story. One side you have a document by Robert Owen describing
the importance of teaching poor children good morale habits and the interest of
knowledge and a clip showing how Styal Mill Schoolwas teaching kids with
multiple useful tools and even how to cure sickness and were even provided good

6. Realism And The Romantic Movement
As a brief preface, I chose to answer the first question. Realism, in strictest terms,
was a literary movement that found it s footing in the mid 1800s in France,
quickly spreading its meaning into Europe, Russia, and the United States.
Realism, itself, is all about allowing an author to use his or her words to illustrate
the real world around them. Realist authors often wrote about ordinary citizens,
such as you and I, and giving these characters a meaning that many readers wouldn
t initially see. By doing this, these authors prove that every life is meaningful, and
drama, whether we want it or not, is ever present in our lives. Realism itself in
many ways was a direct reaction against the Romantic Movement, which in
contrast to realism, stressed nature over culture and society. Realist authors, unlike
the authors involved with the Romantic Movement, focused on groups of citizens
and ordinary people . Because Realism involves providing the big picture , it can
be associated with novels, which have a very flexible standard of their own,
allowing the wide reach of realism. In comparison, Twain s two main literary works
in the 1800s merged his humor and regionalism. This led to Twain creating realist
stories focusing on poor, rural areas in current settings for his time, many times in
ragged little villages, mining camps, and anywhere far from a big city. Twain also
used his humor to incorporate tall tales into his stories, creating a quick relief from
the monotony
7. How Did Industrialization And Collectivization
Industrialization and Collectivization from late 19th century to 1939
Soon after Lenin s death, in 1924, the Communist Central Committee launched the
first five year plan attempting to position the new Soviet state into the club of
Western developed nations. The Bolsheviks wanted first to demonstrate that the
communist ideology could match the achievements of those countries and do so by
uplifting the standards of living of workers and peasants.
Though a true economy needs a multitude of interrelated skills and business flows to
achieve efficiency, the Bolsheviks had simplified the masses into two major classes,
the Workers and Peasants (this is well exemplified by the hammer and sickle on the
Soviet flag).

After Lenin s death, the NEP was discontinued (with the corollary of executions and
deportations for the New Capitalists who had dared to participate in it). Between
1928 and 1932, Stalin fearing invasions from Western nations in a fragile Soviet
state, created massive industrial centers requiring thousands of male workers, a
group that had been already much afflicted by huge losses during WW I, the civil
war and organized famines.
It is worth noting that from 1860 till 1914, Russia made very significant progress to
become a modern state, catching up fast in the Western industrial world (large
metallurgic plants in St. Petersburg, Moscow and in the Urals, coal extraction in
Ukraine, Oil drilling in Bakou, production of cereals in the South East, ...).
Nevertheless, the new wealth was not evenly distributed and led to widespread
frustration among the population. Similarly, living conditions for workers migrating
to industrial sites were poorly built, creating an ideal hotbed for the nascent Soviet
8. Alcohol s Sedative Analysis
According Roehrs and his colleagues of their research, alcohol s sedative and
performance disruptive effects can be attenuated by enhancing the basal level of
alertness after alcohol consumption (Roehrs). It means that after drinking we would
experience sleepiness that makes an individual dangerous to drive. Alcoholaffects has
the same severity to some neurotransmitter systems and sedative drugs do (Roehrs).
For example, alcohol facilitates GABA mediated inhibition (acts as GABA agonist)
and reduces the release of acetylcholine (acts as acetylcholine antagonist).
Consequently, alcohol could mimic the effects of other sedative drugs (Roehrs).
Alcohol affects serotonin and glutamate; these two transmitters regulate sleep and
wakefulness. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that is in charge of of sleep.
Glutamate is in charge of wakefulness. When alcohol have sedative effects, would
make it hard for a person to stay awake which is why law prohibits us to drink and
drive, because when we cannot stay focus driving under influence, it is not safe for
the driver and everyone else on the road (Roehrs).

11. Why Is It Difficult To Build The Berlin Wall
While every challenge is difficult to overcome, some are more difficult than others.
Whether the problem is mental or physical, it takes time to get through. One
example of a physical problem was the Berlin Wall. This was put up in 1961 to
separate East Berlin from
West Berlin to avoid refugees from fleeing the east. It was extremely difficult to get
across with permission, and nearly impossible to get through without permission. The
Berlin Wall made life difficult for many people and prevented movement towards
world peace because civilians were forced to build the wall themselves, extreme
measures were put into place to stop people from crossing, and President Reagan
believed taking down the wall would lead to peace and
prosperity. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Considering that the wall was almost 12 feet tall (3.6 meters), building it was no
easy task. Overall, the Berlin Wall caused life to be difficult for many citizens
because the people were forced to build it.
Secondly, many security measures were put into place to stop people from
crossing from one side of the wall to the other. For example, Berliner Mauer
website states, Floodlights hung high illuminated the strip of sand that was
supposed to reveal the footprints of would be fugitives. This means that the
government would put bright lights along the Berlin Wall that would shine on
sand to reveal footprints. This was very effective for stopping people from
escaping to the other side because the guards would see the footprints and catch
the people before they got away. Many people simply wanted to get across the wall
to visit family members they were separated from, or to have a better life. They
didn t deserve to get killed when they were caught, which is why the Berlin Wall and
the people who guarded it made life

sense of community is for the families that attend Davis Magnet School. Davis
selects its students from a lottery from families that live in the Newport Mesa Unified

itself must create a feeling of a close community. The school has a daily school wide

It is important for the new generation of otologists to be cognizant of the history of
otology. Following are few landmarks in otology regarding ear surgeries: The
potential of ear suppuration was clearly described by Hippocrates (460 376 BC).
The Greek physician Galen (AD129 217), among others, recognized the importance
of draining an infected ear. In his writings, he suggested that otorrhea was
beneficial for the infected ear because it allowed the drainage of purulent secretions
from the ear and recommended against any procedure intended to impede otorrhea

Woodstock 1969 During the 60s, it was the time of drugs, love, hippies, and the
Vietnam War. People were being sent to war while hippies just wanted peace.
Woodstock was thought up and provided peace just for them. Before Woodstock
happened in the 60s, there were many hippies everywhere. Hippies were involved
in music, drugs, peace, and love. During this time, there were four young men, the
oldest being 27, that had ideas to build a recording studio so they made up this
concert to raise money for it. The partnership was named the Woodstock Ventures. It
was going to be a three day festival of music and peace inspired by outdoor concerts
on meadows with windy roads. They also wanted there to be peaceful music under an
open sky with rolling hills, farmland, and streams. During this time, the Vietnam War
was going on. War was raging in Vietnam between the northern part of Vietnam and
the southern part. The United Stateswas an ally with the Southern part. Since we
were an ally, people were sent over to help. Lots of people were dying and, like

fabricating the PCB for any general project is described below. 7.1 PCB MAKING
Making of PCBs is as much as an art as a technique. The making of PCB essentially
involves two steps. Preparing the PCB drawing Fabricating the PCB itself from
the drawing. 7.2 PCB DRAWING Making of PCB drawing involves some
preliminary considerations such as placement of components, locating holes,
deciding the diameters of various holes, the optimum area that each component
should occupy, the shape and size of pads for the components, track size and
spacing, full space utilization and prevention of overcrowding of components at a
particular area etc. There is no other way to arrive the conclusion than by trial and
error. With these details the sketch of the PCB is made. 7.3 PCB FABRICATION
The fabrication of the PCB starts with transferring the PCB drawing onto a copper

drawing from a negative image of the drawing to a photo sensitized copper clad
sheet is carried out. The copper from the unexposed area is latter etched away. For
large quantity production, screen printing method is

Q1. Discuss the three major current issues in the practice of EA.
The three major current issues in the practice of EA are as follows:
1 EA management not be completely, effective and successful utilized in the
Organizations
At first, Lack of top management support: due to the EA need long time to provide
the benefits but in Organizations view they want the return on investment is often
expected within a too short amount of time (Namba and Iljima, 2004). Once the
Organizations top management level people as the Board of directors and CEO who
are not experts with important knowledge with EA, they and whole Organization
could think: EA is not useful can waste time and money, no need to consider the EA
management in high level strategy and business only IT Department can use that.
Although we know they EA = Strategy + Business + Technology, but that no means
the top level managers know. It is because the lack of experienced enterprise
architects in the Companies (Seppanen et al., 2009).
As the result, the EA might not be completely used in the organization, the
Organization only able to see the very few benefits. Then they can conclude: EA
management is useless form them can waste money and time.

Asterialune. Asterialune is where you will find desire and hatred, divided into seven
territories. Where you are standing on the shore of they re unique ocean, the waters
stretches far as you can see, to the horizon. It changes color with the light and the
color of the sky, from green to blue to gray. And then, in twilight, you cannot tell the
ocean from the sky. Ripples and waves unceasingly flow toward you, eventually
break into foam, creep up to your feet and slide back. The ocean makes a sound like
water surging and retreating. There is a scent of the salt water in the air, a smell like

The mountains at a distance and rising hills before us. Those are the fairies, elves,
dwarves, little people and other earthy mythological creatures. The two unlike

animals together, beautiful pale skin with feathery pure wings roaming around the
thick covering the bare sky with it s wings like it s never been wings, but a

vapors consuming your sight and prickly thorns on the dark path.
Lastly, a land where humans like us live. Farming, sewing, writing, painting, selling

24. The Role Of Overt Racism In Nova Scotia
Othering is where a group of people are treated intrinsically differently to maintain
the social prominence of the in group , Caucasian Canadians in Nova Scotia treated
African Nova Scotians differently to allow themselves to still have control over
African Nova Scotians. Though slavery had been abolished there was still
segregation, racismand discrimination happening to African Nova Scotians. The
othering method in Nova Scotia resulted in the mistreatment of Africville civilians,
racist stereotyping and education being withheld from African Nova Scotians.

In Nova Scotia, African Nova Scotians did not have the same rights as Caucasian
Canadians, these rights that African Nova Scotians were denied of were the right
to vote, employment and even the right to the access of public places dominated
by Caucasians. This overt racism allowed Caucasian Canadians to limit and control
everything African Nova Scotians could and could not do. One of the largest forms
of overt racism to happen within Nova Scotia, Canada was the mistreatment and
destruction of Africville. Africville was a settlement in Bedford Basin, Halifax and
it was founded in 1840 by African refugees and their descendants who came to
Canada. The destruction and mistreatment of Africville and its residents is a
monumental example of racism at work in Canadian history; it had a devastating
effect on the black community, most people believe that the destruction of Africville
was an unfortunate incident that was born of a necessary and humanitarian effort
however, the destruction of Africville was not only planned for years but the
Halifax city council and those in power at the time within Halifax slowly throughout
the years destroyed the land and homes of Africville. During the nineteenth century
Halifax began to expand more, industries and businesses began to infringe on
Africville property, the establishment of the Nova Scotia Railway Company in 1853
resulted in the early demolition of several homes as rail lines were built through the
community this demolition of homes showed that companies and industries saw
Africville not as a community where people lived but a potential building space for
their needs and it was also the beginning of many occasions where the Halifax
council and businesses used Africville as their own source for expansion. In the
1870s Halifax built an infectious disease hospital and then later added a trachoma
hospital, these hospitals were on
25. British Socialization And British Moralization
Highlighting the absurdity in the belief that socialization, particularly British
socialization, is an indicator an individual s (un)likely descent into barbarism,
William Golding explores a narrative in which a plane crash has left a group of
adolescent boys stranded on an island, in his novel Lord of the Flies . Through the
mild jingoism and naivete of his characters, Ralph, Jack, and Piggy, Golding
demonstrates that believing a British upbringing is inherently moralizing is not only
a flawed judgement, but also leaves space for an abundance of disappointment. Of
all the boys, the one who distinctively establishes himself as more knowledgeable
than the rest is Piggy. Piggy, with his fierce rationality and intellect, is an astute
believer in the moralizing nature of socialization. Thus, he goes to extensive lengths
in order to maintain the remnants of English society the boys have attempted to
establish on the island. Most notably are his efforts to preserve the sanctity of the
conch. In the opening chapter, he is ecstatic when he and Ralph stumble upon the
conch and exclaims, We can use this to call the others. Have a meeting. (Chapter 1,
pg. 16) For him, this shell signifies that all is not lost, that although they make be
away from the comfort of their superior English society, there is still some
semblance of order and discipline. Any disrespect or disregard for this symbol
frustrates him, instilling in him utter disbelief that good English boys like themselves

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this experiment was to prepare isoamyl acetate from isoamyl alcohol
and glacial acetic acid by Fischer esterification.
Introduction Esters are derivatives of carboxylic acids. Instead of having the COOH
group, an ester will include an alkoxy substituent which is a hydrocarbon group of
some kind attached to the oxygen molecule ( OR) (1, 2). Esters emit fruity smells and
are widely used as flavor enhancers or fragrances. Esters are typically the predominant
compound in natural fruits and flowers that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Next, 0.809 g of isoamyl alcohol was added to the vial and weighed. The difference
of these two weights was recorded and considered the precise mass of the alcohol.
A total of 2 mL of glacial acetic acid was added to the vial. Three drops of
concentrated H2SO4 and a boiling chip were added to the vial. The vial was
attached to a clamp and rested in a sand bath that ranged between 150 160В°C. A
cold, damp kim wipe was placed around the tip of the vial to act as a condenser.
The mixture was refluxed for one hour. Once the hour passed, the reaction mixture
was cooled to room temperature and the sand bath was turned off. After the boiling
chip was removed from the vial, 1 mL of 5% sodium hydrogen carbonate
(NaHCO3) was slowly added to the reaction mixture, capped and swirled. The vial
was shaken to mix the contents and the cap was removed to release the pressure.
This was repeated until the bubbles were no longer produced. A Pasteur pipet was
used to remove the aqueous layer which was disposed in a test tube labeled
Aqueous Layer . The extraction of the upper organic layer was repeated two more
times with new 1 mL portions of 5% NaHCO3, placing the aqueous layer in the
labeled test tube each
27. The Lore Of La Llorona
1.Lore; noun; a body of traditions and knowledge on a subject, or held by a
particular group, typically passed from person to person by word of mouth;
traditions and knowledge passed on; Many cultures have some type of lore that
the people of that culture tell. For example, in Mexico, there is the lore of La
Llorona. There are plenty of stories of how she could not stop crying for her kids at
the river. Moreover, there is also lore about witches in Salem. People tell stories and
write books about lore that is passed on.
2.Lucrative; adjective; producing a great deal of profit; something can make a lot of
money; Karen had a lucrative idea. She did not want to share it with others because
she knew she would produce so much profit that everyone else would go out of
business. Her business would even be more lucrative than Andrea s cupcake shop. It
would make more money than Facebook. She did not want to have such power and
responsibility, and decided to keep the money making idea to herself.
3.Lurch; verb; to walk or move unsteadily and without stability; not being able to
balance while walking or moving all over the place; Sarah was completely
intoxicated at the party last night. She was lurching all over the place. Every five
seconds she would bump into someone. While walking she even spilled her drink on
someone. Sarah proved to everyone that they should not drink too much or else they
would start lurching too.

History
Bob Carlton worked for his uncle, Mel, in a muffler shop in their hometown of
Chickasaw, Alabama when he was young. He tried his first time driving and found
out that he was not talented at it. Instead, he was good at making the engines. Thus,
his uncle gave him a corner of the shop to develop his interest: auto parts. He then
outgrew and had his own racing team clientele. With the phenomenal boom in the
National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR), he never lacked a
business. He even had a long waiting list of customers. Then, he founded OptiMotors,
a midsize auto parts manufacturer.
Development
Roland, the accountant of OptiMotors, suggested Bob take the vacant space across
the town to increase their capacity so as to maximize the profits. Roland introduced
some angels investors to Bob and they persuaded Bob that the company had to invest
in high powered sales leadership. Bob agreed that the key to success was the magic
words of mouth. Therefore, the angels put him in touch with Galen McDowell, who
was excellent at socializing and training salespeople to become high performing.
Once Galen got into the job as the sales manager, he immediately hired a few
salespeople and taught them easier and faster ways to achieve targets. Within a few
months, OptiMotors got a call from a big client, Kinan Motors. The company was in
full production mode in improving its product quality because they wanted to close
the deals with Kinan.
31. Southern Culture In Advice Kincaid s Poem Girl
There are a few pieces of advice Kincaid offers in her poem Girl that directly relate
to modern American (and specifically, Southern) culture. The first is always eat
your food in such a way that it won t turn someone else s stomach which in my
personal experience is an important mannerism. Others include how to hem a dress,
how to cook, how to smile, how to set the table, and how to behave in the presence
of company. These are instructions addressed primarily to females. Mothers often
teach their daughters how to sew or take care of their clothes, or otherwise how to
perfect their appearance, including how to apply makeup; some expect their children
to learn to cook, focusing on the daughters because womans place is in the kitchen;
32. Comparing Girl And The Birth-Mark
In Girl by Jamaica Kincaid and in Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Birth Mark , the two
shorts stories come out to have more similarities than it does with differences; in
the manner of theme, narrative point of view and the plot. In Girl , a mother who
simultaneously tells her daughter what she can do, what she cannot do and when
she can do it in order to be the perfect lady while growing up in the Antiguan
society. In The Birth Mark , the main character Aylmer tries to change the way his
wife Georgiana looks because of a flaw , a birthmark that is on her face in the
shape of a hand. Kincaid s and Hawthorne s short stories both share a resemblance in
theme with the contrast of gender and view, and plot; however, both of their short
stories share a divergence in the narrative point of view.
The two short stories share a similarity in theme in contrast of gender and how it is
viewed in each story. In Girl , the mom teaches her daughter the way a woman
should be living her life in the Antiguan society that results in the girl facing how
the rest of the world perceives her as an individual. on Sundays try to walk like a lady

the mother was trying to change her for both of their reputations in the Antiguan
33. The Differences Between Three Kings And Apocalypse Now
One would think that all combat war movies were alike, but after watching two
very different movies about the same subject, my previous assumptions were
challenged. In recreating the chaotic world of combat war both Three Kings
(Russell, 1999) and Apocalypse Now (Coppola, 1979) chose different styles of
visual elements to convey and depict what war looks like. Despite bearing some
minor similarities, the differences between Three Kings and Apocalypse Noware
striking when it comes to cinematography.
Three Kings starts out with an American soldier, Troy Barlow (played by Mark
Wahlberg) yelling out to a buddy in the distance, Are we shooting? , while he is
standing on a flat, colorless Iraqi desert scattered with mounds. The desert is
washed out and almost everything has been drained of color except for the sky.
Far away in the distance, on top of one of these mounds an Iraqi waves his rifle and
some sort of fabric. It is unclear what the Iraqi is trying to say, is he appealing to
the soldier? Is he taunting him? Maybe he is about to open fire or surrender. The
Iraqi s desperate gestures are too foreign, as the soldier calls out again, Are we still
shooting people or what? This is all hard to tell from the bright glaring light that is
being emitted from the snowy desert.
The opening shot for Apocalypse Now is very different from the opening shot of
Three Kings. The first thing we experience is a black screen with the sound of a
helicopter. The first image we are shown
34. Gary Ridgway Theory
For instance, the case of the Green River Killer (Hickey, 2010:24) may offer
another possible explanation for what caused Jack the Ripper to become a serial
killer. Gary Ridgway is America s most notorious serial killer (Hickey, 2010), he
holds the record for the most serial murder convictions in the history of the United
States (Hickey, 2010:24). Ridgway is responsible for the deaths of 48 women
(Hickey, 2010). Like Jack the Ripper, Ridgway selected prostitutes as his intended
victims (Paley, 1995). The social learning theory may offer an explanation for why
Ridgway, and the Ripper, may have become serial killers. The social learning theory
suggests that behaviours are learnt by observing the behaviour of others (Jones,
1998:355), therefore if a person witnesses aggressive attitudes, this may increase the
chances of that person acting in the same negative manner (Choon Chan, 2012:52)....

The experiment found that the children, who were exposed to adults acting
aggressively towards a doll, were largely inclined to also behave violently towards
the doll, compared to those who were not exposed to adult violence (Demers,2011).
According to Bandura, children learn behaviour by repeating what they see adults
do (Conradie and Golding, 2013). Ridgway himself grew up in a dysfunctional home
environment, where he witnessed and was subjected to both physical and emotional
abuse from his mother (Hickey, 2010:24). According to the social learning theory, as
Ridgway had observed faulty behaviour (Weatherby, 2009:5) exhibited by his mother,
he himself would be more likely to demonstrate the same sort of violent behaviour.
Additionally, the social learning theory may also give us an insight into why
Ridgway targeted prostitutes, perhaps prostitutes were his objects of hate because
they symbolized his
35. The Pros And Cons Of GMO
Should GMO s be labeled in the United States? A GMO is a genetically modified
organism that goes through the process of genetic engineering. This is when genes
of one organism are extracted, altered, and then artificially placed into another
organism to then grow. We typically see GMOs in the food we consume every day.
These foods include fruits and vegetables, however the most common organisms
that are genetically engineered include, corn, soy, and cotton. It is ultimately the
unnatural cross breeding of plants, animals, bacteria, and virus genes (Non GMO
Project). But now why is there a debate for placing a label to notify consumers of
GMOs in their foods? Do we know the potential harm that GMOs can cause? We
have the right to know what we are putting into our bodies and what is found in
our everyday foods. So why do we use GMOs? Well there is a So called advantage
with these products that it costs less to produce and they are better quality. But do
we know if they re better quality or our bodies? There s not enough research to prove
that the human race and other organisms have suffered dire consequences from
consuming these genetically engineered foods. However there are some linkages that
link GMOs to some health problems, environmental damage, and farmer/consumer
rights. In the United States, we are not yet up to date with other countries one being
the metric system we have not yet switched to and the labeling of GMOs being
required. In three hundred regions

Hero. A word that has 7.442 billion different definitions and or examples. An author
named Michael Burke; a writer for the Wall Street Journal, writes to persuade
wealthy people who have a strong influence on the daily world to recognize a
problem that happens yearly on a single date.9/11. First responders or better known
as the heros of 9/11 were sent to a different location to watch their own ceremony at
ground zero, all while congressmen sit and take their seats at the realceremony. This
all arises due to the upcoming 10th anniversary of 9/11. He builds his argument
through the use of organization and pathos.
First and foremost, it was thought that Mr. Burke would never get his his point
across. This is what makes his organization so important. Burke drags his thesis out
to three quarter of the article at a point which he switch his focus to the real point

everywhere were mourning the loss of thousands including the lives of first

who made the ultimate sacrifice. But as Burke

For twenty one years, while Athens was engaged in war, he relentlessly and wittliy

his acceptance and his Athenian citizenship. Lysistrata is probably the oldest comedy
which has retained a place in modern theatre. It primarily dealswith two themes, war
and the power of sexuality.. Lysistrata (an invented name meaning, She Who Puts an

The Athenian leader Nicias persuaded the city to accept Sparta s offer to cease the
war in 421 BC. Everyone was allowed to go home, and the territorial status as it
stood at the time of peace, was allowed to remain in place. Athens kept its
continental territories and allies, and Sparta kept all the territories acquired.
Nicias, however, was a rival with Alcibiades in the democratic assembly.
Alcibiades in 415 BC convinced the Athenians to attack the Greek city states on
the island of Sicily and bring them under the rule of the Athenian Empire. In 413
BC, the entire army was defeated, captured and destroyed in the harbor of
Syracuse. The disastrous Sicilian expedition left Athens almost completely
powerless. By 412 BC, Athens was in distress politically. An oligarchy overthrew
the democracy in 411 BC, and then was replaced by a moderate regime. Full
democracy was restored in the summer of 410 BC after a significant Athenian
victory over the Spartans. In 405 BC, Sparta s Lysander took his navy northward
to Hellespont. He made a surprise attack on Athenian ships at Aegospotami while
the crews were dispersed on land. Several thousand Athenians and their allies were
slain. Peace was finally signed in the spring of 404 BC. Athens was henceforth to
be a Spartan ally and follow the same foreign policy. Lysistrata was the play of
peace. The war had been going on for twenty one years and it seemed to many that it
might go on forever.

The earth has been around for 4.6 billion years, and over this time 99.9% of all of
the species that have existed on earth have gone extinct. (Barnosky, et al)
Palaeontologists characterize mass extinctions as times in Earth s history when the
Earth loses more than three quarters of its species in a geologically short period of
time. This has occurred 5 times over the past 540 million years, and scientists are
now suggesting it is happening a 6th time. We are in the midst of a sixth mass
extinctionthat has the potential to wipe out many species of importance, and humans
have a profound impact on it.
Essentially, there have been 5 mass extinctions during the history of life on earth.
(Wake, Vredenburg) And, the time the earth has existed has been divided up into
eons, eras, periods, and epochs based on the geologic strata of that age. (Impey)
There are two eons, the Pre cambrian and the Phanerozoic. In the Pre cambrian there
are 3 eras, the Haydean, Archean, and the Proterozoic. In the Phanerozoic, there are

One new trend called cryotherapy involves using colder temperatures to help you
lose weight. There are estimates that cryotherapy weight loss can result in the
burning of up to 800 calories per session.
How Cryotherapy Weight Loss Works The cryotherapy process involves you
standing in a tank or a whole body cryotherapy chamber. Your body will then be
bathed with liquid nitrogen or freezing air for several minutes. The temperature can
get close to 200 degrees below zero. In most cases, this step will last for between
two and four minutes. You will be wearing minimal clothing. Your body has multiple
mechanisms by which it handles the stress of low temperatures. The benefits of the

You are able to burn more fat passively because brown fat is so much more

Other Health Benefits of Cryotherapy Along with obesity, cryotherapy has been
used to treat a range of other health issues. For example, it has been used as a
treatment for rheumatoid arthritis in Japan since the 1980s. Famous athletes like
Kobe Bryant, Cristiano Ronaldo and LeBron James have long used it to alleviate
soreness. Its ability to relieve inflammation also make it a promising treatment for
chronic pain. It may also be used to treat diabetes as cryotherapy can cause blood
glucose to be burned to help with heating the body. In addition, it may also be
valuable as a treatment for fatty liver disease.
How to Use Cryotherapy Weight Loss Be Consistent
As with any weight loss regimen, there will be no results from cryotherapy without
consistency and repetition. You will need to regular cryotherapy sessions. It is
recommended that you get at least 30 cryotherapy treatments over a 90 day period
and that you do this twice per year. Over time, the effects of your accelerated
metabolism will increase in duration between treatments. You may be able to burn
as many as 300 calories per day because of your cryotherapy weight loss

The Controversy of Genetically Modified Crops
You may know about the emerging field of biotechnology the medicine, the ethics,
the DNA, the Human Genome, etc. But few realize the emergence of its
agricultural branch, and the international conflict that has arisen from it. It may
apply to you more than you thought, for half of the soybean products and a quarter
of the corn you ate in 1999 may have been genetically modified (Kaufman A6).
Genetically modified crops (commonly referred to as GMOs) are crops whose
characteristics have been altered to produce a favorable trait, whether it be prolonged

Department of State 1). Many countries in Asia and South America are already
commercializing GM crops or are a few years away from it (AgBiotech Reporter 5).
The most effective solution to this conflict would be the creation of an international
research commission made up of members from various countries from both sides. It
would do in depth GMO research and create international standards that all member
countries must comply to.
Both sides on this issue have strong arguments, and have reasons to argue. Supporters
of bio engineering argue that it is a new and efficient way of increasing crop
production without increasing costs, time, or labor (Ibrahim 2). Plants modified to
resist pesticides may be grown in fields where herbicides are sprayed to kill
unnecessary weeds and pests, reducing the amount of pesticides needed in
production (Marwick 2). Supporters argue that in no way do GM crops have less
nutritional value, and that in fact new crops may be modified in the future to have
enhanced nutritional value (Sticky Labels 3). Golden rice, modified with Vitamin A
has been successfully produced and hopefully will be used in Vitamin A deficient
areas in Asia, Africa, and Latin America (Rusting 71). GMO producer DuPont has
created a soybean oil with much less saturated fats than normal oil, and it is currently

was performed with measurements from 20 x 20 degree raster scans (consisting of
25 scans). The mean thickness of the central 1 mm zone of the 1, 3, 6 mm Early
Treatment Diabetic Retinopathy Study (ETDRS) grid thickness map was
measured by the program incorporated in the Spectralis OCT software. Choroidal
thickness measurement: To obtain the choroidal image, Heidelberg Spectralis SD
OCT EDI button in the Spectralis software was used. The white on black image
color was used for better contrast between the choroid and the sclera. The choroidal
thickness was measured manually, using the caliper tool in the Heidelberg
Spectralis OCT software, as perpendicular line, from the outer portion of the
hyperreflective line corresponding to the RPE to the choroidoscleral interface. The
choroidal thickness was measured from vertical and horizontal scans centered on the
fovea. The CH T measurements were obtained from the subfoveal and parafoveal
areas at an interval of 500 Ојm up to 1500 Ојm from the center of the fovea (nasal,
temporal, superior and inferior). All measurements were performed at the same time
of the day from 1PM 3PM for the diurnal variation of the choroidal thickness.
44. Drug Trafficking In Colombia
Drug trafficking is a major issue in Colombia, causing many other issues across the
country. Many people involved in the drug trade including civilians are being killed,
kidnapped, and injured over this problem. Over the years, the government has started
cracking down on the growers, producers, and sellers but so far, they have only
caught minor criminals. The government is making agreements with neighboring
countries and finding alternative uses for the crops to slow down the production of
drugs. Despite all of the efforts being made to stop drugtrafficking, violence, and
production the cartels are still thriving throughout Colombia. Throughout Colombia s
history there has been two very violent groups of people who do not like each other.
This caused the War of Thousand Days and The Violence,

The Cali Cartel was less flashy with their money compared to other cartels at the
time and were more about the business side of drug trafficking. They would ship
mostly to Europe and Asia, where it was less likely to get caught. They did not get
along with the other cartels around and would give information about them to the
police to get themselves out of trouble. The Cali Cartel had competitions against
the Medellin Cartel, another cartel from Colombia, especially Pablo Escobar, the
leader of the Medellin Cartel. It got very violent between the two cartels and
killings often occurred. The Cali Cartel started a group called People Against Pablo
Escobar or PEPES, specifically to threaten him, The Cali cartel began to attack the
Medellin cartel particularly Pablo Escobar as their competition became more and
more violent ( The Colombian Cartels 1). They would inform the police of his
whereabouts, which ended up getting him caught and eventually put in jail. The Cali
Cartel then took over the cocaine business until they all got caught and jailed. Most
of the cartel sat for ten to fifteen

46. The Music Of The Dance
Seeing the full length production of the merge concert and having a deeper look into
the process that went into the show gave me an extreme appreciation for the
choreographers, dancers, and production team. Experiencing the concert several times
gave me a deeper insight into the movement. I had an opportunity to see different
angles of the dance, and things that I may have missed had I just seen the dance one
time. There was a variety in the performances in which some pieces were first
function, and others second function. There was one dance that captivated me the
most, and I was able to grasp the first and second functions clearly. The dance which
presented both functions clearly was Desterrado by Ana Baer music by . One of the

So, I had an overall feeling of the struggles within a relationship based off of the
movements, and the way that the dancers interacted. I believe that the first
function elements that were used worked well. I believe that if the chorographer
was wanting to get the audience to think of or reflect upon relationships then all of
the elements served their purpose. Desterrado did express some second function
elements. With knowledge that the title was in Spanish, I decided to get a
translation of what that word means. The title in English translates to exiled . This
was interesting to me because of all the many different ways that people and things
can be exiled. I still pulled the idea of relationships from the dance. For example,
you can exile a loved one from your life if they hurt you, or the relationship no
longer compliments you. The trio that happened in the middle of the piece helped
me to form this idea. There were two male dancers and a female dancer. The female
dancer seemed as if she was caught in the middle. She was being pulled in both ways.
It made me think of infidelity and confusion. It was clear that the dance was centered
around the trio. The other dancers reminded me of the subtleties and dynamics within
a relationship such as the one I thought of through their movements and interactions.
From the second function elements, I could only gather that the dance was about a
relationship or a
47. Diversity In The Workplace Essay
I.INTRODUCTION
Workforce diversity addresses differences among people within an organization.
Workforce diversity means that organizations are becoming a more heterogeneous
mix of people from different categories. Diversity refers to the co existence of
employees from various socio cultural backgrounds within the company. Diversity
includes cultural factors such as race, gender, age, colour, physical ability, ethnicity,
education, language, lifestyle, beliefs, economic status, etc. Diversity requires a type
of organizational culture in which each employee can pursue his or her career
aspirations without being inhibited by gender, race, nationality, religion, or other
factors that are irrelevant to performance. Managing diversity means ... Show more

And this in turn helps to promote fair opportunities in the field of employment and
vocational training. Another benefit is enrichment of organizational human capital;
managing a diverse workforce entails a minimization of cloning that is preventing the
production of an exact copy in selection and promotion. This leads to a wider range of
ideas and abilities, offering greater scope for innovation and competitive performance
in the future therefore enriching an organizations human capital.
III.MANAGEMENT OF DIVERSE WORKFORCE
Companies can succeed at diversity if the initiative to create, manage and value the
diverse workforce has the full support of the top management. The following are the
conditions which would make workforce diversity a success in any organisation:
1.The organization should assign this work to a senior manager. The organization
should link concerns for diversity to human resource management decisions around
recruitment, selection, placement, succession planning, performance management,
and rewards.
2.The organization should create such a working environment as will increase the
motivation, satisfaction, and commitment of diverse people.
3.Performance standards must be clearly and objectively established, effectively
communicated, and used on objective criteria without any bias. Identify desirable and
undesirable behaviors that must be based upon

2. Uses of Ambien (Zol pidem Tartrate):
Zol pidem has the capability to alter the chemicals that are released in the brain,
and is used to balance these chemicals in patients who have trouble sleeping
(insomnia) in adults or any other sleeping problems like waking up in the middle of
the night frequently. It is used before bed. According to Holm Goa (2010), the
treatment lasts for 1 2 weeks and is considered as a short therapeutic treatment. It is
also used as an anticonvulsant and muscle relaxant to prevent seizures. The failure of
Zol pidem as a therapeutic agent in a patient indicates symptoms of mental illness.
3 Abuse Potential
Ambien is considered a recreational drug that is mainly used in an illegal or abusive
purpose to create enhanced sedative and euphoric effects because of its capability
to cause the alteration of chemicals in the mind that are responsible for mood
sensations and coordination. According to Wilkinson (2009), this was illegally
used as the Date Rape Drug in order to have sexual contact with individuals when
they are unconscious after taking a higher than normal dose. This drug is also used
to create a high or cause hallucinations in an individual if they stay awake after the
intake of medication. It has a high potential to be lethal and cause memory loss and
poor co ordination, usually when taken with other drugs or alcohol. It is illegal if also
distributed among friends or used without
49. Comparison Of Genesis 1 And Ancient Egyptian Creation
Myths
Jia GuoBen Smuin Section A02 Critical Reading Assignment July 14th, 2015
Summary of Genesis 1 and Ancient Egyptian Creation Myths In the feature article
Genesis 1 and Ancient Egyptian Creation Myths, the scholar Gordon H. Johnston,
identifies the relationship between Genesis 1 and ancient Egyptian cosmogony by
analyzing the parallels, similarities, and differences with respect to literature and
theology. In order to verify Genesis 1 corresponds with Egyptian creation myths from
the literary perspective, Gordon indicates three parallels between Genesis 1 and the
Egyptian creation traditions: lexical, structural, and thematic. (Johnston 182)
Furthermore, Gordon makes a thorough exploration in theology since he detects the
numerous parallels... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First of all, Gordon believes lexical parallels exist in both Genesis 1 and Egyptian
materials in light of the equivalent expression in the beginning , in which means the
moment of the creative activity begins. (Johnston 183) Second of all, Gordon
clarifies that Genesis 1 and Egyptian mythic cycles share structural parallels. In
specific, Hermopolis constructs a similar storyline with Genesis 1, and Memphis
also applies to Memphite theology as well as Genesis 1. (Johnston 182 184) Third of
all, Gordon illustrates Genesis 1 conceptually parallels with Egyptian creation due to
the numerous thematic parallels. More specifically, the tradition of Hermopolis
shows the birth of sun god is later than the emergence of supernatural light, and
Genesis 1 concretely expounds the fact that God created the light on Day 1 and sun
not until Day 4. (Johnston 187) Nevertheless, Gordon queries himself that the literary
parallels are not occasional because both Genesis 1 and Egyptian creation myths are
originated from some of the real historical connect . Hence, he generates the literary
parallels cannot be the decisive factor to determine the relationship between them.

50. Statement Of Purpose To Study Civil Engineering
The truth behind and how far I have come.
I am Kristoph. I was always fascinated on how machineries work and make our lives
easier and, also how structural complexity has engineered the world into another

main course. I was determined that one day, I will be in the position to design the
complexity structure in my country at an extent while considering the potential how

I had the opportunity to follow my passion and change direction of doing
medicine, but I was afraid of letting my family other than myself down. In Uganda,
I stated my study option with my mentor and, they allowed me to apply for civil
engineering as a second option. I placed medicine as my first option, considering the
reputation and the impact of such profession will mean to my family. In fact, deep
down in my heart, I knew exactly what I wanted and, medicine was purely my family
s choice.
As you may notice, in Uganda I applied for medicine and civil engineering
altogether. This course has a distinct relationship to each other s but, no one
questioned why I applied to such different course at the same time. I kept the truth
to myself and I wanted to follow what my family wanted me to do. This was
something I was sure that I would end up picking a wrong choice, and get on a
wrong train and headed to a wrong future. The choice to study medicine was for
money and it is not what I am passionate about. If I could study medicine, I will be

town wouldn t solve the global problem. So they went before Congress and
introduced legislation that as eventually approved that makes it a requirement to
recycle electronic waste and to make it illegal to throw away in the trash. This is
another great example of a teen activist. My last example of a teen activist is
Malala Yousafzai, she stands up for women s freedom and women s education.
According to ABC news Some challenges she faced was the Taliban, they would
threaten her and eventually they shot her in the head. But that did not stop her.
She was rushed to a hospital in England where she had surgery to remove the bullet
from her head. After her recovery she started to speak out again about what
happened to her and other girls at the hands of the Taliban. Imagine how brave she
is, she got shot and still was strong enough to speaking out. But she was not alone.
She got her inspiration from her Dad. He was a teacher who believed that if men are
allowed to go to school then women should be allowed to go to school
53. American Political System Vs United States
Political systems in the world can be drastically different, or not too far off from one
another. Depending on the differences of the political system it can either make it
harder or easier to compare with another country. Two countries that have comparable
and contrastable political systems are the United Statesand the United Kingdom. The
best way to describe how the two systems are related is, the US system of government
is of course fundamentally different to that in the UK (Hazell, Chalmers and Russell

In the United Kingdom there is not a two party system like the United States. The

parties that can have major influences. However, instead of the major political
parties being called democrat and republican, the major United Kingdom political
parties are called the conservative party and labour party (Whitaker 1). Similar to
the United States, the UK has other minor parties. The U.S. and the UK share a
similarity when it comes to the election process of the House of Commons. In the
election process for both countries, each house is made up of representatives
elected by the people (Beach) . This means each member of the House of Commons
is elected by the British voters. However, the election process of the executives is
where the United States and the United Kingdom differ. In the U.S. the head of
government is elected by the people. In the United Kingdom, the leader of the party
with the most seats becomes the Prime Minister and the official head of the
government (Beach). This means whoever is the party leader of the dominant party
in the United Kingdom becomes the Prime Minister. The United Kingdom does have
a similar form of completive democratic elections as the United States. However, the
