The ANU data commons is building a repository for research data sets that allows researchers to deposit, update, and publish their data while retaining ownership. The repository is based on Fedora Commons and provides a web interface and command line tool for uploading data, with storage and backup provided through the ANU's infrastructure. It will launch in closed beta on July 13 and open beta on September 4, with the goal of populating the commons by auditing existing data sets and encouraging uploads from researchers.
