2.2 Harm-Reduction Analysis
2.2Harm reduction perspective
The other perspective moves away from drug control approaches that criminalize drug
users to evidence based strategies that treat addiction as a chronic medical disease. The
harm reduction perspective begins with the assumption that it is not reasonable to
assume that individuals make healthy decisions. Examples of this approach include
NSEPs, Opioid agonist therapy, behavioral interactions, among others. Proponents of
this approach hold that those trapped in dangerous behaviors often are unable and/or are
unwilling to break free of them, and should be at least enabled to continue these
behaviors in a less harmful manner (Viahov et al, 2001). Hence, treating drug
dependency as illness absolves drug users of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1988, 130 needle exchange programs were operational in the United States, with the
coverage of these programs varying widely. In 1999, the US had 160 programs,
whereas Australia had more than 2000 programs (Viahov et al, 2001). As of 2015
there are 31 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico that have NSEPs. What
about the remaining 19 states, one may ask? Those states who excluded themselves
from this program are governed by political ideologies like Mike Pence, former
governor of Indiana, now the Vice President of US. Early state adopters like Washington
(1988) and New York (1992) have seen the rates of injection related HIV infection
declining as did other states that proceeded to implement NSEPs (Rich Adashi, 2015).
With this in mind, what happened in Indiana was predictable and
Police Misconduct And The Police
Hands up, don t shoot! This quote went viral after unarmed Michael Brown, was killed
by St. Louis police. A person is considered unarmed if he or she is not in possession of
a weapon at the time of the shooting or was holding an object unlikely to inflict serious
injury, such as a stick or a broom handle (Somashekhar). The killing of this young man
went viral after video footage shows him with his hands in the air, surrendering, and the
policepiercing his body with twelve bullet wounds. This incident has lead to the
question of, What do we do now to protect our civilians from this brutal police conduct?
Many introduced the idea of Police Body Cameras, which is proven to allow police
misconduct to be reduced. This technology has been verified to reveal instances of police
misconduct, build trust between the police and the community, and to give video
evidence to improve the ability to prosecute cases.
For every 1,000 people killed by police, only one officer is convicted of a crime( 5
facts ). According to Washington Post, On April 11, 2015, officer Coleman Duke
Brackney was on the way to check out a drunk driver, after finding him, the driver
encountered a chase before running into a ditch. Brackney, then accused the man of
trying to back his car up and run him over shot the man in the back through the back
window of the car, killing 47 year old James Ahern. He was charged with felony
manslaughter but eventually enter a plea to a lesser charge and was to be left
The Pathophysiology Of Celiac Disease
Celiac disease is a T cell mediated, autoimmune, genetic illness that targets the small
intestine in which the absorption of nutrients, particularly fats, is impaired. The disease
has been described as a permanent intolerance to ingested gluten that damages the small
intestine, characteristically inducing crypt hyperplasia and villous atrophy, and
typically resolves with removal of gluten from the diet. (AJN 34). Celiac disease
appears to be more prevalent in women than in men. Genetic and immune factors are
known to play a role in its development. People that have a family member with celiac
disease and people that have autoimmune disorders are at higher risk to develop celiac
disease. This paper outlines the pathophysiology of celiac disease, discusses signs and
symptoms, the four disease types, describes testing, treatment, addresses the differences
between gluten free dietand a diet containing gluten, the use of dietary supplements, and
vitaminD status.
Most absorption of nutrients occurs in the small intestine. The mucosa of the small
intestine is arranged in microscopic folds, which in turn contain even smaller finger like
projections called villi. The cells of the villi are covered with microscopic hairs,
microvilli, projecting from the cell membrane. The folds, villi, and microvilli of the
intestinal mucosa provide a huge surface area for nutrient absorption. Cells of the
intestines are specialized to absorb different nutrients. Readily digested nutrients are
What Is The World Cup And The Process Of Selecting Teams...
The text that I read was an article about the World Cup and the process of selecting
teams for each group. It explains how there are three hats filled with the names of
three nations and each nation will be drawn from those hats at random and placed in
eight groups. The first hat consists of the best teams and Russia, since they are the
host nation. The article s focus was primarily on France s soccer team and their
potential group for the World Cup. The article also talked briefly about the ceremony
that is taking place on Friday when the groups are selected and the famous soccer
players that will be there to host the process. As well as describing the process of
selecting groups from each pot, the article explains the rules and... Show more content on

I also had trouble with vocabulary words that were used frequently throughout the
article such as le tirage . It took me a while to decipher this word as draw and the only
reason I was able to was because of how much it was used throughout the article and
from the context of the article. Using the context of the article and words surrounding
was the easiest way for me to decipher hard vocab. I found the future tense to be very
easy because of all the studying we did in class. I was able to successfully understand
all future verbs such as when the article said Le tirage dГ©terminera . The verb
dГ©terminera naturally processed in my mind as I read it as a futur simple conjugation.
I didn t understand the grammar in this sentence De sorte Г rГ©partir les 32 Г©quipes
en huit groupes . I know the last part of it is about the 32 teams in 8 groups, but I don t
know what the de sorte Г repartir part means. Particularly, why there is a Г in between
the conjugated verb and the infinitive. I thought that Г means at . I don t really know
what that type of grammar is called, but I found it very confusing and hard to understand.

Normal Versus Hybrid Cars
Buyers will consider quality and performance as the important characteristics to buy a
car. But, nowadays, people are buying increasing number of environmentally friendly
cars which is hybrid electric vehicles. Toyota Prius is reported as the market leader
which is the best selling car in Japan. It is better than normal fuel car as it has lower
emissions and uses less fuel but its cost is almost twice times compared to conventional
car. Why consumers still will choose a car like Prius?
Hybrid electric vehicle is vehicle that uses 2 methods to propel which are internal
combustion engine and electric motor. Most hybrid vehicles use high voltage battery
pack and combination of electric motor and generator to help a gasoline engine. There
are 3 types of HEV designs which are series, parallel and series parallel designs. While
levels of hybrid vehicles are including full hybrid, medium hybrid and mild hybrid. For
full hybrids such as Toyota Prius, they have idle stop function and regenerative braking
features. They are mostly capable of using electric motor which assists the engine
alone to run the vehicle. The battery voltages are about 200 to 300 Volts. For medium
hybrids such as Citroen C4 HDi, its features are the same as full hybrids but they are
mostly not capable of using electric motor alone and its battery voltages are around 144
158V. For mild hybrid, it has regenerative braking and idle stop function but not capable
of using electric motor to run. Its systems are

groups of people following different religions, including Islam, Judaism and Christianity.
Each religion marked its conception through changing or adding a unique artwork that
symbolized its essence. The Great Mosque of CГіrdoba was built by Arab architects in
the eighth century and then a cathedral was added by Christian conquers in the sixteenth

Arabs were able to mark their presence on the Iberian Peninsula that contains Spain and

many other things. Arabs replaced the Roman system. They introduced the cultivation of

Scarlet Fever Research Paper
Disease: Scarlet fever
B. Scarlet fever is an acute and communicable disease. The symptoms associated with
scarlet fever are a red rash that feels like sandpaper, a sore throat, and a high fever. It is a
disease that mainly affects children who are 5 15 years old, but anyone can get scarlet
fever. (CDC, 2017). Scarlet fever is acquired through a bacterial infection caused by
group A strep (CDC, 2017). This group A strep is the same bacteriathat causes strep
throat (CDC, 2017). The fever is acquired when Group A strep bacteria inhabits a
person s nose and throat. Scarlet fever is caused by group A strep bacteria that is able
to be transmitted through contact with droplets from an infected person s sneeze or
cough (CDC, 2017). In addition, it could also spread when a person drinks from the
same glass or eats from the same plate as the person who is ill (CDC, 2017). This means
that scarlet fever can be transmitted in an airborne or vehicle borne way. Taken from a
publication in the pharmacist ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Treatment: With scarlet fever, prevention is more important than intervention because
there is no vaccine for scarlet fever. If someone is infected with scarlet fever, a doctor
can prescribe antibiotics which help clear up symptoms faster and reduce spread to
other people (CDC, 2010). Antibiotics are useful because there help get rid of scarlet
fever faster.

literature connected with Social Media in Project Management. All relevant
information connected with this topic of social media in project management will be
closely studied and extracted from various sources such as books, journals and
websites. Throughout this literature review a wide number of topics will be looked
at such as, the growth of social media, the rise of social media, how exactly these social

The final section, Overall Thoughts and Hypothesis will look at the overall picture, make
assumptions and therefore give any predictions or recommendations about the future of
social media in project management.
List of Social Media Tools and its uses
Majority of people see Social Media as a marketing tool.(Harrin 2010) Many
companies are all eagerly searching for customers and simply captivating their
attention by participating in online conversations. Most companies and businesses
tend to communicate with customers through social media sites such as Twitter or
Facebook. This hands on approach of communicating is also being adopted in the
common workplace, especially by Project Managers and their dispersed teams. Social
Media is not only simply used to communicate with customers but can effectively be
used to manage teams in a workplace as well as any projects you are working on. There
are many Social Media tools, which are widely available to Project Managers and each
and every tool can be used to manage and deliver projects. Social Media tools, which can
be used, are listed below.
1. Blogs

3. Instant Messaging
4. Microblogs
5. Podcasts
6. Real Simple Syndication

Coming Of Age Catcher In The Rye
Coming of age is a common theme in young adult books. It is easy to relate to for
many people, most are either going through it or have been through it. In Catcher In
The Rye. By J.D Salinger a young boy around the age of sixteen is named Holden who
is also the speaker of the book, is kicked out of another private school and sets off to his
home city New York before his family finds out in the early fifties. This book was banned
from schools for the mentioning of: profanity, alcohol, sex, drugs, prostitution, and
violence. Holdenseems to be troubled and confused. The book starts of with him at
Pencey Prep the school he was expelled from. In this part of the book you meet his
roommate Stradlater. Holden describes him as a sexy bastard ... Show more content on

The more you hear Holden express his thoughts on people, and life in general it is
clear he is not your average sixteen year old; Holden is alone. His family sent him
away to boarding school, his eldest brother has gone to Hollywood to work, he does not
seem to truly connect with anyone he went to school with, and saddest of all his
youngest brother had died of an illness. Holden talks about tragedies like his brothers
death as if he is no longer hurting from them. This seems to be Holden s tone throughout
the book. Something bad would happen and Holden brushes it off and continues the
story. Holden is stuck between growing up and becoming another phony adult and
staying a child. There is irony in this because where Holden despises adults and thinks
they are all fake he constantly is trying to get away with adult things like smoking,
drinking, and going into clubs. He also acts like a child every time he is faced with an
adult situation. Instead of having a rational conversation with his roommate about his
roommates date with his old friend Jane he lunges into a fist fight over it. The Author
uses lots of hyperboles and metaphors to show Holden s exaggerated attitude towards
things. Holden even finds just sitting by himself to make him feel like a prize horses
ass (86). The diction Holden uses in this book reveals a lot about him. Simpler
The Protection Of Human And Civil Rights
Part 1: Background
Introduction: The protection of human and civil rights, has been a long fight, one that
this world has yet to win. The battles of this war are vicious: protests to overthrow
corrupt governments are noble, but at what price? Protests and rebellions of international
magnitude echo with violence and civilian casualties. A recent example of this war has
been the Arab Revolts in 2010, which devolved into the full fledged rebellions known as
the Arab Spring. The already tense situations in the Middle East and North Africa,
imploded into protests against unfair governments and pursuit of these corrupt leaders.
The international community, especially those of democratic roots were quick to defend
the righteous rebel ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His story reflected, the story of the community, poor with little options, making the best
he could out of a bleak situation, only to be humiliated at the hands of the government.
Because of this, it is widely believed that the reason for such intense rebellion, stems
from a deep rooted dissatisfaction with the rule of governments, and the lack thereof of
civil rights (Sadian 24). This dissatisfaction had been surmounting for years, and as the
protests grew in size and scale, the need for change became more prominent. The
protests held in Tunisia, became an example to Northern Africa and the Middle East,
leading to a wave of unrest and rebellion. The spring began as Algeria, Jordan, Egypt, and
Yemen, as well as other countries began to rebel against their own governments, seeking
rights that had been denied to them for years. In the midst of these fiery protests, several
leaders such as Sudanese President Omar al Bashir announced they would not seek re
election in fear that their citizens would, too turn on them (Weyland 923). Others
forcibly resigned after international and regional pressure: Tunisian President Zine El
Abidine Ben Ali fled to Saudi Arabia in January of 2011, Egyptian President Hosni
Mubarak resigned in February of 2011; Muammar Qaddafi (Libya) was overthrown in
Passchendaele Movie Analysis
Passchendaele Movie Reflection This movie was about Michael Dunne, a Canadian
soldier in WWI. In the beginning, he fought against a very young German soldier and
killed him. Michael was so horrified with what he had done that he ran away from the
army. Later, he was trying not to be sent back to the battlefield because he would have
been killed for deserting the army. Instead he was sent back to Calgary where Michael
saw Sarah and fell in love with her. Sarah s younger brother, David, was convinced to
join the army by his girlfriend s father. Michael rejoined the army under a new name so
that he could protect David. In the end, Michael saved David when he was accidentally
crucified and while doing this Michael sustained fatal injuries. David lost the use of his
legs, but he survived and he went home. Both the textbook and the movie demonstrated
some features of WWI.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Firstly, the textbook talked about how people discriminated against German Canadians.
In the movie, Sarah and David Mann were of German descent and they had their house
vandalized and they were outcasts due to their heritage. Germans immigrants were not
the only ones having a bad time in Canada at that time. Young men were under severe
pressures to join the army. When the textbook talked about pressures to join the army, it
talked about women s groups pinning white feathers to man as a sign of cowardice.
Although there were no white feathers in the movie, people repeatedly told David that he
ought to join the army and they too called him a coward. Even after young men went to
fight, the war was pointless. While talking about the Battle of Somme,
The Role Of God In Frankenstein
The novel Frankenstein was written during the youth of Mary Shelley, a progressive
woman who unlike many of her time, was educated and a personal sense of freedom.
Her ability to make her own choices and her close experiences with death are reflected
in this dark story of Victor Frankenstein and his horrific creation. Much of the conflicts
between Victor and his creature are inspired by the complex relationship between Godand
his human creations from Paradise Lost. However, by making the creator of the being a
mortal, Mary Shelley challenges the reader to question what it is to be human and
criticizes the role of god in the Romantic Era.
Although Victor s invention in Shelley s novel is science fiction, the narratives of the
characters and their experiences are believed to be autobiographical. Specifically, the
abandonment and continual rejection from his creator the Creation experienced is
thought to mirror what occurred in Mary s life. One of these autobiographical links is
believed to be reflected in Shelley s relationship with God. The relationship between
Victor and his creation can be seen of one reflecting the one of God and his human
creation. Like God, Victor is the creator of a live creature that is brought back from the
dead, and can create a new species of living creatures. Accordingly, the Creature, as a
representation of man, although born in innocence is shown misery and becomes bitter
and evil. Just as how God rejects the initial establishment of humanity by
Cinderell A Fairy Tale
In the very popular fairy tale Cinderella , the girl named Cinderella had reached a dead
end in her life of attending the king s festival where she hoped to attract the attentions
of the noble prince. Her evil step sisters and cruel stepmother made sure that Cinderella
would not have the same opportunity; they deemed her unworthy. Just as Cinderella had
given up all hope, Cinderella calls upon her bird friends, who provide her the most

She does every work that servants do. But Cinderella did not allow the opinion of
others to define her. She knew who she was and didn t lost from her deep seated
goodness or the greatness of the aim of her life. In the same way, young child should
learn the bitterness of the world that people will try to put tag on him. Furthermore,
out of the sudden she lost her mother at such a small age. Unfortunately, becomes
daughter without mother. Moreover, her father gets married with another woman
who already had two daughters. Her step sisters tease her all the time and give her
much enough work to keep her busy entire day. Even though in her work, she easily
finds happiness. Hence, Cinderella sets one example for children that shows how
person can be happy in his life with all ups and downs. Secondly, almost every fairy
tale is about good vs bad and Cinderella is not out of that. It is a traditional way to
establish one message for next generation that good always wins and evil always lost.
Cinderella s step mother tried almost everything to make her step daughter s life
miserable. Everybody has miserable time in life sometime. Cinderella s step mother
and sisters never let her enjoy in her life. She was not even allowed to go in festival.
While there was a festival in town, every girl of the town was dreaming to marry prince
and become princes. Cinderella also wanted to go attained and enjoy that festival.

something disrespectful, something she knew he was clearly capable of! Though
now the midwife s tone was turning reconciliatory. And I find it tough to handle, its

Essay on No Tax Dollars for Religious Education
No Tax Dollars for Religious Education
Tax dollars are your money at work. Do you want your money to go to fund private
religious schools? Tax dollars should not fund religious education because it is a violation
of the separation of church and state clause of the first amendment to the constitution.
Lately we have seen proposals for vouchers. These vouchers are public money given to
low income family so they may send their kids to private schools. Most of the schools
who use this program are religious. In the Cleveland voucher program we see there were
3,761 children are enrolled and 96 percent of those children are attending religious
schools. Also 82 percent of the participating schools were sectarian. This voucher ...

Bush s education bill by a 58 to 41 vote.
Private schools would be taking necessary money away from publics schools. As the
ACLU notices vouchers would essentially drain the public school system of tens of
millions of dollars. Public schools rely on only tax dollars to fund their schools
therefore taking it away and giving it to already profiting private schools could be
disastrous. By choosing to be a private school it means it is nonpublic and therefore
should not be aloud to accept public funds.
Another problem with the voucher programs is the issue of civil rights. Private
schools are aloud to choose who they let in their school therefore being able to
privately discriminate. If public dollars are going into these schools there has to be anti
discriminatory codes set up for the schools to abide by so everyone has a free chance.
Some would say the money we give to the parents is not being used in religious ways
and so it does not violate the separation of church and state. It could be used for the bus,
which transports them to and from school everyday or for books. But you can t
regulate what the money you give a person is spent on. It could be used for schooling
or even the book they buy with it may be a religious book.
Another good point about the vouchers is they give under privileged children a chance
to choose the school they would want to attend. But they could use the money they are
giving to the child to leave the school to fix it
Valentine Research Papers
Valentine s is developed in contemporary culture as the most romantic day of the whole
year, but its history is not the cards, love hearts and restaurants that it s now. Dating back
to the times of historic Roman martyrs, it wasn t till 500 AD a feast day was founded on
the 14th February to commemorate Valentine
Big debate encircling the foundation of Valentine s Dayis set up name pertains to one
martyr, or many of them all known as Valentine (or Valentinus in Latin). There have
been a number of martyrs referred to as Valentine from the same ancient Roman time, so
it isn t conclusively understand which one of these the feast was in fact established to
celebrate. However, the Saint Valentine that the feast is generally most connected with
was buried on 14th February simply a little north of Rome, but besides that very little is

because so little is well known about the Valentine involved, he was taken off the
Catholic calendar of saints when it had been revised in 1969.

Essay on The Cuban Revolution
The time of the Cuban Revolution was a great deal of turmoil, not just in Cuba but in
almost every corner of the world. It was 1945, shortly after the end of World War Two,
and the Cold War was taking off between the United States and the Soviet Union. Cuba,
in the middle of its own war, was caught up in the international politics of the Cold War.
The interaction between international and domestic politics played a major role in the
outcome of the revolution. The result of the revolution left Fidel Castroin charge of Cuba.

Their focus was national sovereignty, reform, economic growth, a redistribution of
wealth, and social justice(the cuban revolution p 62). Finally, in 1965, Cuba officially
became communist with the emergence of the Cuban Communist Party, with Fidel
Castro as their leader. Castro s involvement with the foreign and domestic politics
during the early Cold War period greatly influenced the outcome of the Cuban
Revolution. Without the actions taken by foreign powers like the United States and
Russia, some events on the domestic front may have had very different results. It is
important to understand how every nation s foreign policies can influence more than
just one other nation, and this was especially true for Cuba. It was this mix and chain
of events which produced the communist Cuba that we are familiar with today. The
most popular of Fidel Castro s documents is La Historia Me Absolvera also known as
History Will Absolve Me. This was a speech given by Castro at his trial for leading an

that justified his reasoning to form his revolutionary movement against Fulgencio

he later revolts to power. Although, his speech was about his thought on the
revolutionary movement, it also was to show the foundation of his Moncada attack and
what he was trying to achieve. Castro mentions in

  • 2. 2.2 Harm-Reduction Analysis 2.2Harm reduction perspective The other perspective moves away from drug control approaches that criminalize drug users to evidence based strategies that treat addiction as a chronic medical disease. The harm reduction perspective begins with the assumption that it is not reasonable to assume that individuals make healthy decisions. Examples of this approach include NSEPs, Opioid agonist therapy, behavioral interactions, among others. Proponents of this approach hold that those trapped in dangerous behaviors often are unable and/or are unwilling to break free of them, and should be at least enabled to continue these behaviors in a less harmful manner (Viahov et al, 2001). Hence, treating drug dependency as illness absolves drug users of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In 1988, 130 needle exchange programs were operational in the United States, with the coverage of these programs varying widely. In 1999, the US had 160 programs, whereas Australia had more than 2000 programs (Viahov et al, 2001). As of 2015 there are 31 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico that have NSEPs. What about the remaining 19 states, one may ask? Those states who excluded themselves from this program are governed by political ideologies like Mike Pence, former governor of Indiana, now the Vice President of US. Early state adopters like Washington (1988) and New York (1992) have seen the rates of injection related HIV infection declining as did other states that proceeded to implement NSEPs (Rich Adashi, 2015). With this in mind, what happened in Indiana was predictable and
  • 3. Police Misconduct And The Police Hands up, don t shoot! This quote went viral after unarmed Michael Brown, was killed by St. Louis police. A person is considered unarmed if he or she is not in possession of a weapon at the time of the shooting or was holding an object unlikely to inflict serious injury, such as a stick or a broom handle (Somashekhar). The killing of this young man went viral after video footage shows him with his hands in the air, surrendering, and the policepiercing his body with twelve bullet wounds. This incident has lead to the question of, What do we do now to protect our civilians from this brutal police conduct? Many introduced the idea of Police Body Cameras, which is proven to allow police misconduct to be reduced. This technology has been verified to reveal instances of police misconduct, build trust between the police and the community, and to give video evidence to improve the ability to prosecute cases. For every 1,000 people killed by police, only one officer is convicted of a crime( 5 facts ). According to Washington Post, On April 11, 2015, officer Coleman Duke Brackney was on the way to check out a drunk driver, after finding him, the driver encountered a chase before running into a ditch. • 4. The Pathophysiology Of Celiac Disease Celiac disease is a T cell mediated, autoimmune, genetic illness that targets the small intestine in which the absorption of nutrients, particularly fats, is impaired. The disease has been described as a permanent intolerance to ingested gluten that damages the small intestine, characteristically inducing crypt hyperplasia and villous atrophy, and typically resolves with removal of gluten from the diet. (AJN 34). Celiac disease appears to be more prevalent in women than in men. Genetic and immune factors are known to play a role in its development. People that have a family member with celiac disease and people that have autoimmune disorders are at higher risk to develop celiac disease. This paper outlines the pathophysiology of celiac disease, discusses signs and symptoms, the four disease types, describes testing, treatment, addresses the differences between gluten free dietand a diet containing gluten, the use of dietary supplements, and vitaminD status. Most absorption of nutrients occurs in the small intestine. The mucosa of the small intestine is arranged in microscopic folds, which in turn contain even smaller finger like projections called villi. The cells of the villi are covered with microscopic hairs, microvilli, projecting from the cell membrane. The folds, villi, and microvilli of the intestinal mucosa provide a huge surface area for nutrient absorption. Cells of the intestines are specialized to absorb different nutrients. Readily digested nutrients are
  • 5. What Is The World Cup And The Process Of Selecting Teams... The text that I read was an article about the World Cup and the process of selecting teams for each group. It explains how there are three hats filled with the names of three nations and each nation will be drawn from those hats at random and placed in eight groups. The first hat consists of the best teams and Russia, since they are the host nation. The article s focus was primarily on France s soccer team and their potential group for the World Cup. The article also talked briefly about the ceremony that is taking place on Friday when the groups are selected and the famous soccer players that will be there to host the process. As well as describing the process of selecting groups from each pot, the article explains the rules and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I also had trouble with vocabulary words that were used frequently throughout the article such as le tirage . It took me a while to decipher this word as draw and the only reason I was able to was because of how much it was used throughout the article and from the context of the article. Using the context of the article and words surrounding was the easiest way for me to decipher hard vocab. I found the future tense to be very easy because of all the studying we did in class. I was able to successfully understand all future verbs such as when the article said Le tirage dГ©terminera . The verb dГ©terminera naturally processed in my mind as I read it as a futur simple conjugation. I didn t understand the grammar in this sentence De sorte Г rГ©partir les 32 Г©quipes en huit groupes . I know the last part of it is about the 32 teams in 8 groups, but I don t know what the de sorte Г repartir part means. Particularly, why there is a Г in between the conjugated verb and the infinitive. I thought that Г means at . I don t really know what that type of grammar is called, but I found it very confusing and hard to understand. While reading the article,

But, nowadays, people are buying increasing number of environmentally friendly cars which is hybrid electric vehicles. Toyota Prius is reported as the market leader which is the best selling car in Japan. It is better than normal fuel car as it has lower emissions and uses less fuel but its cost is almost twice times compared to conventional car. Why consumers still will choose a car like Prius? Hybrid electric vehicle is vehicle that uses 2 methods to propel which are internal combustion engine and electric motor. Most hybrid vehicles use high voltage battery pack and combination of electric motor and generator to help a gasoline engine. There are 3 types of HEV designs which are series, parallel and series parallel designs. While levels of hybrid vehicles are including full hybrid, medium hybrid and mild hybrid. For full hybrids such as Toyota Prius, they have idle stop function and regenerative braking features. • 10. Coming Of Age Catcher In The Rye Coming of age is a common theme in young adult books. It is easy to relate to for many people, most are either going through it or have been through it. In Catcher In The Rye. By J.D Salinger a young boy around the age of sixteen is named Holden who is also the speaker of the book, is kicked out of another private school and sets off to his home city New York before his family finds out in the early fifties. This book was banned from schools for the mentioning of: profanity, alcohol, sex, drugs, prostitution, and violence. Holdenseems to be troubled and confused. The book starts of with him at Pencey Prep the school he was expelled from. In this part of the book you meet his roommate Stradlater. Holden describes him as a sexy bastard ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The more you hear Holden express his thoughts on people, and life in general it is clear he is not your average sixteen year old; Holden is alone. His family sent him away to boarding school, his eldest brother has gone to Hollywood to work, he does not seem to truly connect with anyone he went to school with, and saddest of all his youngest brother had died of an illness. Holden talks about tragedies like his brothers death as if he is no longer hurting from them. This seems to be Holden s tone throughout the book. Something bad would happen and Holden brushes it off and continues the story. Holden is stuck between growing up and becoming another phony adult and staying a child. There is irony in this because where Holden despises adults and thinks they are all fake he constantly is trying to get away with adult things like smoking, drinking, and going into clubs. He also acts like a child every time he is faced with an adult situation. Instead of having a rational conversation with his roommate about his roommates date with his old friend Jane he lunges into a fist fight over it. The Author uses lots of hyperboles and metaphors to show Holden s exaggerated attitude towards things. Holden even finds just sitting by himself to make him feel like a prize horses ass (86). The diction Holden uses in this book reveals a lot about him. Simpler
  • 11. The Protection Of Human And Civil Rights Part 1: Background Introduction: The protection of human and civil rights, has been a long fight, one that this world has yet to win. The battles of this war are vicious: protests to overthrow corrupt governments are noble, but at what price? Protests and rebellions of international magnitude echo with violence and civilian casualties. A recent example of this war has been the Arab Revolts in 2010, which devolved into the full fledged rebellions known as the Arab Spring. The already tense situations in the Middle East and North Africa, imploded into protests against unfair governments and pursuit of these corrupt leaders. His story reflected, the story of the community, poor with little options, making the best he could out of a bleak situation, only to be humiliated at the hands of the government. Because of this, it is widely believed that the reason for such intense rebellion, stems from a deep rooted dissatisfaction with the rule of governments, and the lack thereof of civil rights (Sadian 24). This dissatisfaction had been surmounting for years, and as the protests grew in size and scale, the need for change became more prominent. The protests held in Tunisia, became an example to Northern Africa and the Middle East, leading to a wave of unrest and rebellion. The spring began as Algeria, Jordan, Egypt, and Yemen, as well as other countries began to rebel against their own governments, seeking rights that had been denied to them for years. In the midst of these fiery protests, several leaders such as Sudanese President Omar al Bashir announced they would not seek re election in fear that their citizens would, too turn on them (Weyland 923). Others forcibly resigned after international and regional pressure: Tunisian President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali fled to Saudi Arabia in January of 2011, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak resigned in February of 2011; Muammar Qaddafi (Libya) was overthrown in
  • 12. Passchendaele Movie Analysis Passchendaele Movie Reflection This movie was about Michael Dunne, a Canadian soldier in WWI. In the beginning, he fought against a very young German soldier and killed him. Michael was so horrified with what he had done that he ran away from the army. Later, he was trying not to be sent back to the battlefield because he would have been killed for deserting the army. Instead he was sent back to Calgary where Michael saw Sarah and fell in love with her. Sarah s younger brother, David, was convinced to join the army by his girlfriend s father. Michael rejoined the army under a new name so that he could protect David. In the end, Michael saved David when he was accidentally crucified and while doing this Michael sustained fatal injuries. David lost the use of his legs, but he survived and he went home. Both the textbook and the movie demonstrated some features of WWI.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Firstly, the textbook talked about how people discriminated against German Canadians. In the movie, Sarah and David Mann were of German descent and they had their house vandalized and they were outcasts due to their heritage. Germans immigrants were not the only ones having a bad time in Canada at that time. Young men were under severe pressures to join the army. When the textbook talked about pressures to join the army, it talked about women s groups pinning white feathers to man as a sign of cowardice. Although there were no white feathers in the movie, people repeatedly told David that he ought to join the army and they too called him a coward. Even after young men went to fight, the war was pointless. While talking about the Battle of Somme,
  • 13. The Role Of God In Frankenstein The novel Frankenstein was written during the youth of Mary Shelley, a progressive woman who unlike many of her time, was educated and a personal sense of freedom. Her ability to make her own choices and her close experiences with death are reflected in this dark story of Victor Frankenstein and his horrific creation. Much of the conflicts between Victor and his creature are inspired by the complex relationship between Godand his human creations from Paradise Lost. However, by making the creator of the being a mortal, Mary Shelley challenges the reader to question what it is to be human and criticizes the role of god in the Romantic Era. Although Victor s invention in Shelley s novel is science fiction, the narratives of the characters and their experiences are believed to be autobiographical. Specifically, the abandonment and continual rejection from his creator the Creation experienced is thought to mirror what occurred in Mary s life. One of these autobiographical links is believed to be reflected in Shelley s relationship with God. The relationship between Victor and his creation can be seen of one reflecting the one of God and his human creation. Like God, Victor is the creator of a live creature that is brought back from the dead, and can create a new species of living creatures. Accordingly, the Creature, as a representation of man, although born in innocence is shown misery and becomes bitter and evil. Just as how God rejects the initial establishment of humanity by

The reason I asked for the arm wrestling match was to make you realise, that women at times require three four times the effort that you just put in, and there is also a lot of blood and cuts most of the times, hence it s quite a tough job, even by your high standards! With that comment Jai really put their nose out of joint, it was all over their faces; just then Kaashi returned to the scene. She was alarmed to notice her red faced brother and father, their twitchy body language as both gazed at Jai with discomfort and disdain, while he stood lecturing them. She was quick to realise that the neighbour had uttered something disrespectful, something she knew he was clearly capable of! Though now the midwife s tone was turning reconciliatory. And I find it tough to handle, its way easier than arm wrestling, I even cry at times to see them in pain ; he appeared to be earnestly trying to drive home a message, but it was tough for anything to permeate through to the chafed Singh duo s senses that were filled with loathing, whilst the Singhni (lioness) got agitated and curious to dig out the details. Tax dollars should not fund religious education because it is a violation of the separation of church and state clause of the first amendment to the constitution. Lately we have seen proposals for vouchers. These vouchers are public money given to low income family so they may send their kids to private schools. Most of the schools who use this program are religious. Private schools would be taking necessary money away from publics schools. As the ACLU notices vouchers would essentially drain the public school system of tens of millions of dollars. Public schools rely on only tax dollars to fund their schools therefore taking it away and giving it to already profiting private schools could be disastrous. By choosing to be a private school it means it is nonpublic and therefore should not be aloud to accept public funds. Another problem with the voucher programs is the issue of civil rights. Private schools are aloud to choose who they let in their school therefore being able to privately discriminate. If public dollars are going into these schools there has to be anti discriminatory codes set up for the schools to abide by so everyone has a free chance. Some would say the money we give to the parents is not being used in religious ways and so it does not violate the separation of church and state. It could be used for the bus, which transports them to and from school everyday or for books. But you can t regulate what the money you give a person is spent on. It could be used for schooling or even the book they buy with it may be a religious book. Another good point about the vouchers is they give under privileged children a chance to choose the school they would want to attend. But they could use the money they are giving to the child to leave the school to fix it
